Aiden is a good name. Rory is also nice. I also like Seamus and Sean. And Keir. Boys names are more difficult though I think; none of those would have got past Mr Boots.

I have not made the ice cream yet; due to the kitchen floor being laid - plus I still have half a tub of mango ice cream which I need to accidentally eat before embarking on the next flavour.

Macca I seem to have gone from one wee a night to two or even three - is most bloody irritating isn't it. I reckon the most sleep I've had in one go is two hours. On the plus side I've got very good at falling asleep as soon as I lie down again. I am hoping this newfound ability will continue once the small snuffling thing arrives.

I had such plans for today about all the tidying and nesting I would do. I have done nothing It is like nesting only with no results and mucho guilt.

LadyGoneGaga · 01/07/2011 16:32

He left at 2:30! Have been cleaning kitchen since. Unfortunately my nesting hormones won't let me leave the place a shit tip (even though she deserves it) so been cleaning since. The insides (and tops) of the kitchen cupboards are gleaming

Owlie you totally deserve a lazy day. You've been redoing your house, FFS. Enjoy it. Still loads of time left [grin

Is your blood pressure a bit low, Alps? I used to have near fainting fits in manner of Victorian lady in first trimester. Not sure there's much you can do though - more salt?

OP posts:
macaroonmum · 01/07/2011 17:58

Gah! lost post earlier...

Keep those name suggestions coming... I like Aiden too but here it'd be 'Eye-den' Hmm and Seamus would be 'Say-mousse' so, maybe not.

Alps don't look at me... he's still sideways so he's better not come yet! did you manage a bit of cake today? Sorry about the dizziness and general sickness, won't be easy running after mylittlehillpony either. Salt can help, or get yourself some of those rehydration type salts or drink the highly toxic coloured energy drinks. I have low bp and they help.

GG I bow to your domestic superiority. I swing from flurries of activity to total and utter catatonia (remember them? They were good).

This evening I would like a foot massage followed by a large bowl of ice-cream and some watermelon. I am likely to get none of those. meh.

Truffkin · 01/07/2011 20:00

I absolutely hear you on the 'pram' essentials and it's not a massive one at all. Quite portable and manouvreable with a lying down bit for tinyness plus a more sitting up seat bit and all the added bits that go with it. It also comes in some awesome zingy colours! I haven't been to a shop to push them about so will reserve judgement until I've experienced one in real life. I have had a look on ebay and a good condition one with full kit is getable for about £600 so they hold their value.

Am aware I sound like I'm doing a sales pitch (on myself?) so will STFU now.

GaGa am impressed with the packing man! We're hoping to do the same when we move so am pleased to hear of your good experience. Exciting that this is the last weekend before you get your big family house. My sister used to work near where you're moving and my Dad lives 10 mins down the road so we should definitely arrange a meet when I'm back.

Am loving the ice cream-a-thon this week. We had free ice cream at work today, which I loved! A mint and choc 2 scoop combo. Yum.

Macca how about Niall or Kieran? They are 2 of the boys names that TGB llikes and I don't hate. They are few & far between.

Medee · 01/07/2011 20:52

Hello lovely ladies, I take it you have all seen that the loveit x 3 sale.is now on. I had fun over.breakfast!

Medee · 01/07/2011 20:57

Hello lovely ladies, I take it you have all seen that the loveit x 3 sale.is now on. I had fun over.breakfast!

BrownB · 01/07/2011 21:12

Hi there everyone... any ice cream left?

My news is gradually coming out in the office. In a job like mine, it's kinda hard to hide... "So why did you not go to assist your colleagues who were being beaten up in custody, PC Plod?!" "So explain why you're leaving when we have a job on the go? 8 hours sometimes is just not enough... as you well know DC Dodder?" It's much easier to tell the truth.

Good work on the packing and cleaning GG. Just a question - what's wrong with having a bit more toast with your eggs and chorizo in the morning? This all sounds most aggravating.

Roonie - can't help with the Irish names. I like Carey (am aware that's Welsh) and Cameron (am aware that it's 1. Scottish and 2. taken), but am drawing a blank with Irish boys names.

And as for laziness - I am afraid that I am winning hands down ladies. My poor MrB. I haven't cooked in 2... maybe 3 (4?) weeks? We have a cleaner. I demand back rubs. Every night. Blush I have been tired but am hopeful that will ease up in the near future...? Hmm Shall I tell him? Grin

starcuntmole · 01/07/2011 22:02

Not normally one for interrupting the blooming PESH but i've had lots of wine just wanted to say that

  1. salad my boys name was v nearly Lincoln but due date was 4th July and we thought it might look a bit naff, and it didn't go with definite middle name, but otherwise...
  2. macca is Declan any good?
£. ski when you said that about looking up last years freds it made me have a teeny tear, as was this time last year i found the BESH, and I remember it well. (of course I didn't delurk then, but that's not the point) Happy Birthday little Bear x
  1. gaga it will soon be a blurry memory all this, (a bit like when you dressed up in meat. (I mean, what was that about?, and I bet you hardly think about it now) May the force be with you my lovely.
  2. truff forgive my SAHM naivety re maths and economics, but surely £600 on a £1000 purchase isn't holding their value that well, and so I vote you buy a bugaboo and pay me the difference Wink
Luff to all the PESH of all duration. Am off to kick some butt in the ring.
BrownB · 01/07/2011 22:31

Truffs - couldn't possibly comment on that push chair. Am still ambivalent about these things. I can say though that my SIL has the chair and bed things for her two and they are design winners. (am looking at the website without price tags)

BrownB · 01/07/2011 22:33

ps - Cunty you kick arse all right. Am feeling like a bit of a weedy pathetic whiney girl, and have suddenly come over all coy and don't want to fight...

starcuntmole · 01/07/2011 22:38

VioletV go on, put'em up, put 'em up

MadameBoo · 01/07/2011 22:47

I like Declan and was going to suggest that too Cuntnose! Whaddya think Italianstallionette?

Ivegotmrbitey · 01/07/2011 23:07

truff kiddiecare.com sell stokke stuff, I just had a little nose. If you like it in the shop check their prices out, I am going to save £200 on a travel system with them. Just hope they can deliver it in time now! I am going for a Britax B smart system as Which said their car seats were the safest. It's £400 for chassis, carry cot, regular seat which can lie flat and the car seat. I am also sounding like a sales person! Very boring colour choices though!

I have been to see bridesmaids in the cinema, vay vay funny Grin

AlpinePony · 02/07/2011 07:13

LadyG/macaroon Thank you so much for the tip on low bp, I'm 99% sure that's what it is, but you know when you're in the middle of something you can't think straight? e.g., when you've got the poops - in my world, the last thing I think of is Immodium. Anyway, last night I had a sachet of ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) and felt immediately a bit better, and I'm going to go a little heavier than ususal on the salt on my food. I have very low bp anyway and of course having knocked the ciggies on the head will be "doubly low" right now. Ironic isn't it? I start pregnancy with barely registerable (good word!) bp Wink and end up with PE and being pumped full of drucks with bp 185/125. Anyway, great tip - I'll keep taking these and I'm also going to get checked properly for low iron. My bloods are getting taken next week anyway and I'm pretty good about eating iron rich food (e.g., red meat/spinach etc.) but can't face another crappy pregnancy.

I was reading over the PESH thread this morning and found this gem, this was 12 days before I laid:
"This morning I lay in bed for an hour before getting up - this meant Julian wasn't fed exactly when he wanted to be. Which meant he made me puke breakfast. Sat on the toilet clutching a bowl, red-faced, pee, heave, fart, plop, cry, eyes streaming, nose bubbling, jailbait laughing and pointing. I lifted my t-shirt - my nips were the only thing not leaking - so I'm unable to help with any nipple problems at this stage." HmmGrin

truff If you want it buy it - you don't need to answer to anyone but yourself! But be aware if you live in North West London then you'll just look like you're wearing "the" uniform and you'll be FORCED to attend Yummy Mummy Groups and name your child Jacinta! (boy or girl obv.) Wink

brownie You're a DC?

AlpinePony · 02/07/2011 07:14

PS LadyG I wish you were closer so we could all bundle round and do your packing for you so you could put your feet up. You officially have Too Much On Your Plate [tm] right now!

Muser · 02/07/2011 08:51

Hello PESH, I am lurking for news of lays.

Truffs, I have seen a few Stokke prams around and am curious about how small they fold down. And how light they are. Light was the key thing for my pram. I spent the big bucks on a Bugaboo Bee as it was recommended by many Londoners as being perfect for the capital. But you have to work out how you're going to use it and get the best one for you.

So, for example, I wasn't bothered about folded size and space in car as I don't drive and we hardly ever use the car. But I did need to be able to lift pram down stairs and get on buses.

Mind you, as I actually ended up using the sling 99% of time I could have easily done without a pram at all until she was big enough to go in a cheap foldie. But I still love my light and nippy Bee.

Truffkin · 02/07/2011 09:07

T minus 58 minutes to show time for baybee and I can't deny that I have the fear. Am hopeful that Raspberry (I think this name has stuck. Apologies for lack of inventiveness) is a-ok and everything looks good.

The Stokke thing is purely aesthetic so may well change mind on trialling. Bugaboo also recommended but I don't really know what I'm looking for yet so need to do proper research. Will all follow today's brilliant scan

Lays would be very good. Having been spoiled with so many recently, am feeling slightly bereft Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 02/07/2011 09:08

Ah, so you're in da police, Brownie. Am from a police family myself (although not one personally). But Dad was a Super and brother was one too (although all went horribly, horribly wrong and he isn't any more but we don't talk about that). I can imagine not the easiest profession to be a differ in

Aw fanks, Alps. Is actually not too bad. The packing man has done 90% of it and they are doing the rest on Monday. Just wanted to clean yesterday to get it out of the way so on move day I can just push the hoover round and put some bleach down the loo. My Mum is coming to help me unpack for a couple of days next week too. Then I can put my feet up. Is just a bit depressing sitting in your bare house surrounded by boxes for the weekend.

Unfortunately, my previous failsafe dinner option last night (Beef chilli with brown rice) let me down. Fucksticks. Maybe was a a tad greedy with the rice but really not an excessive amount. Maybe I do need insulin.

Truff entirely personal taste but I just don't really like the look of Stokke's and wouldn't personally spend that much on a pram - but that is just my opinion. Also because, like Muse we ended up using a sling a lot of the time so would not have had money's worth.

Where is Ginfox - I hope she's not secretly laying without telling us. Priorities! Wink

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 02/07/2011 09:08

I love the Bee too. We have used it loads as she has a nap it during the day so it's sort of doubled as a mobile Moses basket. And it folds down small enough to fit in the boot of a fiesta. I liked that fact thd there was no separate bassinet as that seems like a waste when it's only going to get used for a few months.

bitey I found a deal on it from kiddicare, took the print out to JL and they matched it. Means you get the benefit of the best price but with the aftercare of JLP. Not sure if they do the one you are after but worth checking.

rocketleaf · 02/07/2011 09:11

Good scan luck truffs all will be well. Hope minitruffs gives you a wave and a dance.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/07/2011 09:28

Good luck for the scan, Truffs. Will be thinking of you.

OP posts:
Ginfox · 02/07/2011 09:32

Truffs I agree that lays would be vay good right now. Spent yesterday doing chores like a crazy-person, hoping to make life uncomfortable enough for Foxcub to want to vacate the premises, then had curry for dinner - fail on both counts.

Macca re: irish names - what about Fintan? Can be shortened to Fin, easy to spell, etc. I luffs it, in fact might put it on my back-up name list.

LadyG well done on the expert packer. We had our stuff packed and moved a couple of years ago, but we weren't there to supervise. Twas interesting opening the boxes months later to find random kitchen stuff in with clothes, garden tools etc. I fink they might have been cowboys, but at least nothing went "missing".

Brownie good work on the nightly back-rubs. Make sure you don't use up all privileges ahead of schedule tho, you'll need them later.

Alps try and look after yourself missus. You have low BP and wobbliness, but still want to help GG pack so she can rest. Hmm

Today I will be mostly building a greenhouse in my garden. Tonight I will be wondering why I ache so much, denying that it's anything to do with spending all day building a greenhouse. [hypocrit emoticon]

LadyGoneGaga · 02/07/2011 09:55

Don't overdo it, Gin. I woke up feeling a bit like had been run over by a truck. Was fine after a hot bath though. Can you "supervise" from a deckchair with a large jug of Pimms?

Well, apparently I can get away with the Branflakes if consumed with a large chunk of cheddar and a load of peanuts Confused. This is the most bollocks illness ever.

OP posts:
BrownB · 02/07/2011 11:35

Truffs - hope the scan was picture perfect...

Alps - chin up love. Sounds like you had such a rough time last year. Sad Fingers still firmly crossed that this time will be a massive improvement.

GG - fucksticks on the brown rice sending your blood sugar over. Do you actually feel bad with this? And just quickly - how long are you going to be without the tinterweb once you move... Grin We'll miss you..!

Nice to hear about the sling v pram use thing early. Am hopeful that a sling will suffice in my neck of the woods. We don't have a car - MrB doesn't have a licence any more... something about being Canadian and needing to renew it every 10 years. The DVLA don't like Canadian licences either, and have told him to re-sit his test and it's all a palaver etc. He also has an Ethical Dilemma about owning a car, and I agree up to a point. Certainly not enough to argue anyway - we live in London ffs, and can always hire one when needed. Blah blah.

Anyway - I should do something. I have more energy today. Which makes a nice change.

owlbooty · 02/07/2011 11:42

This morning I have made raspberry and redcurrant (home grown) sorbet. Pliz to accept the sorbet, garnished with a slug of either cassis or sloe gin.

Truffs lovely am sending good vibes your way :)

Alps that does sound absolutely bloody awful. Am seriously hoping you don't get it again.

GG Eh? Was there a stealth cream bun hidden in the brown rice? At this rate you won't be able to eat anything :(

I am nesting today. This involves directing Mr Boots to clean things whilst sitting in an armchair. Then we are going to Ikea so he also has somewhere to sit; only having one chair in the house is beginning to get tiresome. I may also purchase some crap ham to put out for the MW visit on Tuesday. Do I get bonus points if the crap ham is from Ikea?
