Pone I didn't join the Dec thread after some started talking about names/birthing choices/pushchairs at approx 5 weeks in. I was still walking around with my hands clamped over my vag at that point to prevent teflon womb syndrome. I am sure they are a very lovely group really but I can't relate to that.

Orchid12 · 15/06/2011 11:52

When I saw my MW a week or so ago, she was all for Spatone and was raving about how quickly it makes a difference. I should have thought if you were taking two sachets a day then your levels will be much improved by now. Mine went up in two weeks at a slightly later stage of PG to you (there is a greater demand for iron by the baybee/your body the further you get into the third trimester) from just taking one sachet, with the odd two a day thrown in for good measure. You're not ridiculously low, and have time on your side so I reckon you will do it no probs Smile.

You sound a lot like I was with mini O Smile. I had a pathological fear of hossie's with him and there was no way I going into one unless I really had to. Fingers crossed you get your homebirth, they are lovely! I'm much less bothered by the hossie this time, probably because I know I don't really have a choice in it. I'm a natural born worrier at the best of times and don't want to be stressing about squidge's heart during delivery. Am keeping my fingers crossed that this one hasn't inherited anything dodgy though.

owlbooty · 15/06/2011 11:57

BB Yes! That was my reasoning this time around too. All the OMG BABYDUST stuff when I was still reaching for the superglue and weeping in panic every time I got a funny twinge was too much.

Orcs that is very reassuring thank you. :) I think, like you, if I knew there was any potential problem with Owlet I would quickly get over myself and be knocking on the hospital door in an instant - hopefully as you say Squidge emerges perfect and there is no need for any fretting.

LadyGoneGaga · 15/06/2011 12:00

I think mine are about 10 from memory at 28 weeks. They only told me that at 32 weeks and been taking the tablets since then. Will be retested on Monday at same time as GTT so we will se what they are doing. Do you eat red meat? Try and cram lots of that in, and drink OJ with meals to boost absorption.

I think they would be on pretty weak grounds to deny you a homebirth just for borderline anaemia. You can still demand one and talk to the Supervisor of midwives armed with research stats etc.

Have sort of got my head round a hospital birth now I think. I suppose given I ended up with one before it's fairly easy to picture. But may not come to that.

There are some muppets on my antenatal boards to be honest - have to say they are better towards the end when it gets more exciting with lots of people having babies. Before that is quite dull.

Just been in a really hot team meeting for 2 hours and now my hands are like grotesque sausage fingers and can't make a fist. Grr.

Pony I have dipped in and out of the July AN thread, but generally cannot be arsed. All they talk about is the minutiae of being diffed, and don't seem to be very supportive of other members - very mememe. Like one poster poured her heart out about her SPD and generally extremely crap time she was having, and no-one else referred to it, sympathetically or otherwise.

I don't stray far from here, except to have a good laugh at AIBU. Grin

Owl I had iron levels around 9, and thus have been on the evil tabs for a couple of months. Am hoping that next time I see MW I can decrease the dose, cos they are bloody awful, or at least switch to spatone.

AlpinePony · 15/06/2011 12:21

owl Well technically low-iron levels can lower your blood pressure which yes, technically could be problematic in the case of haemorraging. But , just because your iron levels are low doesn't mean you're a bleeder does it?

gin/barbie :( I'd just forgotten how daft it all is. The endless colour of the buggy discussions, the importance of wallpaper for the nursery. It makes me want to go on and say "I SMOKE MARIJANA TABLETS AND SKY-DIVE!". Wink

owlbooty · 15/06/2011 12:29

Bloody hell Ginnyfox I don't know how you've stood them for a couple of months. Ack. The farting, my lord above, the farting.

Pone my BP is 140/80 and has not shifted at all now please put that pokey thing down Grin Here; have this cake to carry instead on your skydive Grin

GG one of my chums is having acupuncture for finger and foot bloating. She swears by it but I do wonder if all the acupuncturist is doing is puncturing her rather than acupuncturing her if you see what I mean :) I am liking the red meat idea. Any excuse for a sirloin steak. With chips. Yum.

LadyGoneGaga · 15/06/2011 13:00

Do have it suitably rare though, Owlie. So long as you really sear the outside (thus killing off any potential contamination) you can have the inside as juicy and bloody as you like Grin. A well done steak is a travesty.

OP posts:
Medee · 15/06/2011 17:00

Mmm steak.

The March 2011 bunch are nice.

rocketleaf · 15/06/2011 17:27

I never bothered with the Jue in June thread, the ESH were enough for me. Actually it was because I didn't bother joining up at the beginning and then couldn't be arsed to catch up didn't want to barge in. Plus the play on due irked me. I like the fact that people are at different stages in here so there is a wider range of experience and POV (plus you are all super cool) although I suppose having a bunch of people going through the same thing at the same tine might have been nice, I had lozzer and score for that.

Wonder how lozzer is getting on.

laurielou · 15/06/2011 19:02

Evening. So sorry for the silence ladies, I've been in cloud cuckoo land, and all in a good way Grin

Tis ace!! For those who don't know, Bug was delivered by c-section on 9 June at 12.28pm, not so little boy weighing in at 9lb 3oz. He was delivered to Queen's "I want to break free" Grin. He is perfect. (I may be biased).

I had the exact opposite birth that I planned or wanted, & you know what? It was fine. Everyone was right, c-sections are not half as bad as I'd feared, & the end result more than makes up for anything.

I was back home by Sat lunch time, stitches out yesterday & we're very slowly beginning to adjust to having our lives completely turned around. But all in the most fab way ever.

Mr Loz has been amazing - he is looking after us both fantastically (just don't tell him I said that).

I'm ashamed that I haven't completely caught up on fred, so pliz to accept my apologies & this champagne. If everyone is half as happy & fab as I'm feeling, then we're doing OK Grin.

Muchos luffs to all, xx

BrownB · 15/06/2011 19:06

Hey everyone - BootyWol, for clarity, I'm confident the puking crown is being saved for Alps... WinkShock Although I have discovered nausea, I am thankfully not yet puking. Am hoping that it won't happen. Grin I reserve the right to eat my words should I in fact start vomming...

Am a little startled about my waist, have to admit. And LGG + Alps, these are your second babies aren't they? Hmm Ah well.

I shall now have to look at the Jan ante-natal club. I am confident that I shall be bored and irritated before too long.

Ginfox · 15/06/2011 19:24

Lozza!!!!! Luffly to hear from you, and glad you are snuffling happily.

BB don't go over there, it'll only piss you off.

LadyGoneGaga · 15/06/2011 19:59

Welcome back, Loz. So pleased for you and glad it all went well and your little chap is gorgeous! And good to hear that even if you don't get the birth you planned it can still be a wonderful experience.

Bowel pain doesn't sound fun, Gin. I've been ok thankfully - just have the black poo and prob made me slightly looser than usual. But def try the Spatone - had no negative effects.

Medee · 15/06/2011 20:02

Hello LouLou, welcome back!

MadameBoo · 15/06/2011 20:09

Ahh just had a very non-DHB something in my eye there Loz, so lovely to hear from you and glad you are sounding so positive about your section. It really is wurf it innit? :o

Truffkin · 15/06/2011 20:26

Yo schlaaags, I turn my back for five minutes and how much excitement do I miss?

So pleased for you Barbie scan sounded brilliant, telling people will be fantabulous.

Ski great news, am hoping MS holds off as long as possible, although badly timed bug sounds like a right PITA. Glad you're back on the wagon Grin

Brownie hairstrokes for you my lovely. The sickness is total pants so I hope it is short lived for you. Wonderful to see you in the deli though.Lovely to see LozMama popping in too. Your boy is simply gorgeous as is the way of the ESH baybee of course!
I am not as excited to hear of rubbish vendor behaviour GaGa and think it'e entirely reasonable for you to hold them to the original date, given your circumstances.

I have been AWOL simply due to very busy work times, so simply no energy for posting. Have been reading to keep up to date though. I joined the November birth club and find everyone to be nice enough. Definitely nice to have people at the same stage and there is lots of empathy / support so all good so far (and no cake carrying questions so I think I've got off lightly!)

I remain much less sick (literally 2 or 3 times per week rather than per day, so am delighted. I'm slightly Confused about how I've got to 18 weeks quite so quickly (20 week scan but a fortnight away, WTF?) but looking forward to enjoying the middle bit now. I'm hoping it will mainly consist of blooming, glowing, shiny hair and shopping!

Right, am off to eat my lovely dinner cooked by TGB who is very happy about not having to eat alone anymore Grin

Truffkin · 15/06/2011 20:28

P.S am very much liking the 'back then vaginas weren't meant for fun' Ski Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 15/06/2011 20:58

Congratulations lolo! you sound utterly smitten, and boy bug sounds beautiful! Your csection story has taken some of the fear away from it for me so thankyou Smile

spring watch is making me cry, just off to slap myself with a fish finger.

owlbooty · 15/06/2011 21:22

OMG too much dust in here Lozza am so delighted for you and v.glad it is all lovely - Mr Loz sounds like a star. :)

Ginny I luff the Spatone. It does not give me Wind of Doom or Bloat of Horror. Grin

Truffles Hoorah for the lessening of the sick!

donttrythisathome · 15/06/2011 23:19

Hooray for laurie what a lovely post [sob] delighted for you.

AlpinePony · 16/06/2011 06:01

haha DHB laurie's turned in to a marshmallow. haw haw worra softie! Grin

AlpinePony · 16/06/2011 06:08

brownb I'd rather someone else carried the vom crown pastic-bag, but I fear it'll be me again. My mum was the same, vommed up to and including due date with both of us so I don't expect this to be any different. Every heave is goooooood . Confused

There's a lot o' poo talk around here. Grin

How did you all manage to get such nice people on your an threads? I just know I'm going to get the mentals who cry when they realise they ate pate in 1986 and omg coffee and m&s risotto with white whine. Some of the stuff they ban themselves from eating/doing doesn't even begin to make sense. "Don't wear orange when you're pregnant, my midwife said it raises your blood pressure and gives you oompa loompas!". I must remember to be nice to the afflicted. Wink

truffs Glad to hear you're doing a bit better. :) Yes, remember to "glow" - it's your right! You're entitled to glow, it says so in all the books.

bitey Are you sectioning it up?

gaga any news from the solicitor yet? I rather agree with "tough titty if you want to decorate your house". I would threaten them with breaking the chain and pulling out. If they are doing this without needing the funds in place, i.e., buying their new place outright then they've been somewhat misleading - if they're doing it via a "bridgeing loan" then this'll put the shits right up 'em - good luck finding a buyer toot sweet in this market. If they're just being cunts & chancers then they can swivel. They can get a fucking hotel/blow-up on a mate's floor.

AlpinePony · 16/06/2011 07:47

Apols for the cluster posting. I had to go and buy a CBD last night - and it said yes too! GrinBlush I'd forgotten how difficult this stage of the pregnancy is - you're terrified yet at the same time bursting with the biggest, bestest secret in the world! I've made my first mw appointment - it's real. [gulp]

Muser · 16/06/2011 08:36

Hooray for loveduplozza.

The vom crown was never really mine as I never vommed and wet myself at the same time. I was a mere pretender to Alp's throne. Hope you do escape this time AP.
