evening bumpalicious ladies Grin

have not stopped today, and my hips and pelvis are not at all happy.

Its been boiling and i stood and walked in the sun for three hours at sports day was exhausted. The amount of sympathetic looks i got and the 'haven't you had her yet?' comment ummm does it sodding look like it!! People are mad aren't they.

So im sore in pelvis and skin tonight 9sunburn_ and dh has predicted for a a week now and told everyone that today's the day apparently! I lost it with him earlier, he'd left at 6.30am and couldn't understand why i was exhausted and tearful that he was working late. I was done in after my none stop day, just something like bending to get the washing in or empty the dishwasher is agony. Anyway he came home and was really good. i was just dishing up boys tea in garden so he hoovered dining room then after cut the grass which was niggling me so glad thats done. I mopped the lounge and hall floors so I have a nice clean house after doing kitchen and bathroom this morning.

buttonmoon78 · 11/07/2011 22:09

I had a bit of a clean tonight too Nic. DD2 has been working on her bedroom as it's been a cesspit for weeks. Finally got down to the carpet so gave it a good vac - filled the dyson! Also cleaned the windows in both dd's rooms - they were filthy Blush

My pelvis is complaining too. Ah well, it's not long for me to wait til Friday.

I must admit though, I'm suffering terrible paranoia. I keep feeling the baby butt against my cervix (see I know what it is really) but then worrying that it's turned breech again. I nearly rang the MW today to ask if she could slot in a quick check in tomorrow's clinic before I got a grip. Blush again!

Picking the new van up tomorrow - am so excited, I can't wait! We've been doig all our family motoring in my smallish Nissan with no aircon so will be ace to get a massive reasonable boot back and some chilly air!

Been away in Wales for a week. Had a row with DP which was horrible but things betteHad a lovely pregnancy massage and went swimming in the sea two days in a row.
Driven back to my flat for a few days, three hour commute getting very tiring now.
Went to pregnancy yoga and planning on a big baking session tomorrow.
Getting pains in my back tonight, this had better not be early labour as my DP has no transport, its 'meet the new teacher' day at DD's school tomorrow and I have the midwife coming over for a visit and my homebirth group!
I'm hoping on next week for the birth (but sod's law it will be 42 weeks now!)

Want2bSupermum · 12/07/2011 01:47

It has been a while since I last posted. Skipped through the past couple of pages. Congrats to those with new additions. It sounds like the cork on the champagne bottle has has been popped and I hope there are more additions soon! Button - thoughts are with you.

I gave up on breastfeeding today and went to formula. My milk hasn't come in properly and I couldn't cope with feeding every other hour (she would feed for an hour, poop & or pee and then sleep for 35-40min). My blood pressure is still high from the preelampsia and when I spoke to my obn on the phone today she said it will take me 6-8wks to recover from the pre-eclampsia. My blood tests results showed my anemia was worse too. DH is about to do the next feed in 15mins. I am hoping that me stopping the breastfeeding will help my recovery from the c-section and the pre-eclampsia.

JimmyChoo17 · 12/07/2011 08:00

nic and button is that nesting I hear? I have no desire to do any of these things, all twinges gone.....I'm going to be the last I swear!

I plan on doing some tidying today but only cause I know it needs doing and can't actually be bothered and will be easily distracted by anything I bet!

Hi wanttobesupermum sorry to hear u had to stop, mw makes it sound like lbreastfeeding is so easy they never mention any of these possible issues! Hopefully tho as u say it will help with your recovery!

Did u see the news about that 6pm baby born in the US?

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 08:13

Jimmy not so much nesting as fear - knowing that if MiL comes on Friday (as she is to look after dcs) she'll only do it for me! And last time that happened there was stuff I never ever found again!

Want2b Sorry to hear bf is not working out. Jimmy hits it on the head - it can work beautifulyy or it can work after a huge slog or it can not work at all. I'm not brilliant at it myself and feel, whilst I'd love to do another 6 months like with dd2, if I manage 2-4 weeks I'll consider myself as having done a good job. Now rest up - concentrate on getting yourself back together again. After all - bf is only one part of being a mum and you need to be healthy and recovered to be a good mum.

Selina wouldn't it be a lot easier if we could choose? Obv, to some extent, I have, being induced and all, but that's not usual!

Well, I feel a bit better today. Slept from 11.30 til 7.30 without even a loo break! Of course, that means that I woke up in agony as I was so stiff and desperate for a wee but means that I'm at least well rested!

And picking up new car at 4pm. Have I mentioned this before?! Might have to have a little strap in of the car seat later Grin. Just a trial run you understand...

Mitchell81 · 12/07/2011 08:57

Ramsay was two weeks yesterday and feeding really well between 3 and 5 hourly. (bottle feed) Cant believe it has been 2 weeks already. Recovered completely from my section and will drive for the first time today as got doc appointment to put contraceptive implant in. First day without dh yesterday as he went back to work and all went fine. (sorry just copied my msg on fb)

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 09:31

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly mitchell!

OP posts:
SpannerPants · 12/07/2011 09:35

that's pretty good going Mitchell - I thought you couldn't drive for 6 weeks after a caesarian?!

Hope you're getting lots of rest Want2b - are you allowed to eat more normally yet?

I've just signed up for a free LoveFilm subscription so I'm going to try streaming a film for the first time - this is possibly the most excitement I'll get this week! I want to see Harry Potter on Friday so if the baby can hold on until then I'd be grateful...

Hope you have fun with the car Button - I think a trial run with the car seat is very important Grin

nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 09:57

sounding good today Button? Im pleased for you. I didn't get up for loo either, I was seriously drained after yesterday barely stopping all day. We woke at 7.45 luckily dh didn't have to leave til 8.30 so he did packed lunches. Im not rushing anymore in the mornings only another week and a bit of school left. DS1 sorts himself out and off to school with his cookery ingredients bless him. But left ds2 and 3 to wake themselves so we were about 15 mins late for school or 20 maybe. Tate's class was in assembly but the TA's all very understanding as i waddled in, thought i'd gone into labour! Think sports day yesterday took it out of all of us!!

Not too much planned today but must tackle ironing and as part of clear out i have so many ebay parcels to send but can only carry so many at a time. did ocado order, but forgot essentials like milk and juice oh and bread duh!

As for the feeding thing think button summed up very well, it is only one very small part of mothering. I have set myself up for failure with the last two by insisting on perservering. Whereas this time i have bought steriliser, bottles and milk at the ready (including those essential cartons) which may have the opposite effe t of meaning bf working?!! Who knows.

Have good days all, I definitely feel like i'll still be sat here next week with nothing happening but feel ok about that atm!!

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 10:19

I have a cupboard full of cartons Nic! DDs were fine, but DS was beside himself with hunger at 2 days old with no sign of my milk coming in so I reckon that just for an easy life, the odd oz or two to get us through that bit might help. I know someone will say it's better to feed and get the milk coming through but it's that 3am weakness moment isn't it? I just can't be arsed to worry about it this time. If I manage 2 wks then baby will have had the liquid gold bit and after that, we'll see. I'm also v shallow and really miss wearing dresses when bf can't believe I've admitted that! Blush

And yes, feeling lots better. I'm still in a lot of pain but I hate feeling like it's the biggest thing in my life so I try to ignore it where possible. I am contrary to appearances on here! a positive person and hate that feeling of being dragged down so a good mental shake every now and again is a good thing!

And, after all, it's only 3 more sleeps til D-Day! Grin

Right. Am off to hang out washing now. DD2 found 2 whole loads Shock of dirty washing in her room yesterday. At least I'll be able to shut her up when she says 'oh, but I have nothing to wear' Grin

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 10:23

yep i got washing to get out and more to do too.

cartons are a life saver.

I just want to feel like me again, im such a busy get on type of person, i feel quite sad at the lack of stuff i've been able to do. And theres so little enjoyment atm as its just a case of getting through the day. not nice. But soon be over and i'll be moaning about the state of my post baby body and my huge uncomfy boobs and lack of sleep (still!)

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 10:59

Ooo! More show! I'm perfectly happy for nothing to happen now before Friday (what would I do for childcare?!) but I'm enjoying thinking that it'll be a smooth induction if things are moving along a bit now...

I think that's what I meant too Nic. I'm normally so upbeat etc that feeling like this is so alien to me! I just want to be able to get out of bed without planning it for 10 mins!

OP posts:
MissLolita · 12/07/2011 11:09

Hi ladies, I'm feeling really deflated this morning; I had a sweep yesterday afternoon and the mw said my cervix was effacing and was nice and soft and looking promising; she did a good sweep and said she could feel the babies head with plenty of hair! I had loads of sharp and muscular pains and some contractions through the night but they have all faded away to nothing :( I was convinced last night was going to be the start of something!

She told me off for doing too much (swimming, walking, pliates, exercise classes etc) and told me to slob about for a couple of days to conserve energy in the hope things would get started. I'm booked for induction next Wednesday 20th so babyL has got just over a week to get moving!

nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 11:13

Its hard Miss L to know what to do as keeping active will help labour to progress but also know after yesterday its important not to wear yourself out too.

oooh button things are moving right direction for you. I have no twinges, no show or anything. Been having strong BH for months so they mean nothing to me really.

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 11:17

MissL if you're used to being active though you can't stop everything. Otherwise you won't sleep well! A real balancing act!

Nic painful BH here too since 25wks +. And non painful ones before then! DDs keep getting excited when I stop and breathe through them - thinking baby's on it's way!

Just had a little Ben & Jerry's to celebrate more show. And to help conserve my energy! Grin

nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 11:45

Grin i've got some mint choc chip waitrose icecream coming in ocado order later, not had that in years. yummo!

scarthy1975 · 12/07/2011 12:50

Sounds like things are starting to move a long for a few more at last - has been a few days since our last arrival!

My consultant appointment was a waste of time - basically waited an hour and half to be told that i'll be induced next Friday if nothing has happened by then.

Not sure whether to have sweep with midwife on Thursday or not? Didn't work last time.

Eglu · 12/07/2011 14:37

Hi all. Babyeglu is calmer today and actually sleeping for a while. Although she did some lovely projectile vomiting earlier on I ended up putting a bib on her as it kept coming. I've never had to put a bib on a bf baby before, only once I switched to bottles.

Button very exciting getting a new car. We need to trade in DHs and get something bigger. My Sceninc is just perfect, the DC don't seem squashed together at all in the back, plenty of room for all of them. DH was surprised when he drove the other day to see how they fitted.

I hope those of you who are suffering don't have to suffer much longer. I know what you mean about no enjoyment to anything when every little thing you do is a struggle.

nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 14:44

dh home at lunchtime today as his car broke down.

he witness first hand my struggle home from the shops so think his sympathy may be on the up!!

he's here for school run hurrah!! So im going to do the honourable thing and tackle the ironing baskets boys need school t-shirts.

JimmyChoo17 · 12/07/2011 17:00

They could feel hair??? Oh my life. I am in for such a shock once they start taking away my dignity aren't I!!??? I've been feeling very panicked these last few days about birth if I'm honest but today I'm feeling rather indifferent! Bring it on! although I have to say I'm not looking forward to my sweep at my drs....mainly because I seem to bump into the workers at my drs in sainsburys all the time! Can't look them in the eye ;)

I feel ready now because my cot mattress has just been delivered. Not even using cot to begin with but was only thing missing from room so I've just cleared it all out and taken everything out of packaging and put everything out. I'm even thinking about ironing baby clothes (I've not ironed since I was about 11 weeks as nothing I've worn since needed ironing and hubby had to do his own, which now he's proved he can do....will be continuing to do). I hate ironing but seem to want to. I also cleaned my oven.....now I'm not sure whether this is the start of nesting or some rot of placebo effect as I had read about you guys cleaning....

I'm off to cook something yummy before I start cleaning something I can't be bothered to finish!

Eglu, I've just invested in a scenic....felt way too mumsy BUT so very practical and I love it now, dislike the amount of fuel it eats tho....

nicolamumof3 · 12/07/2011 19:02

evening jimmy, its lovely getting everything ready isn't it? I've had the cot up and ready for the past five weeks now!! I kept thinking like i do with each one that she might come early...i never learn!

Haven't taken tags off anything new just in case sex was wrong on scan (after three boys was a bit of a shock!) but all my second hand stuff was washed in non bio, and ironed and put in relevant basket (poor baby doesn't have own room, but then none of mine have apart from eldest!)

I keep obsessing about the feeling of crowning and the 'burn' deffo the worst bit but then its over and have your lovely baby all done!! Bliss.

Badgerwife · 12/07/2011 19:13

Jimmy, I'm impressed you're thinking of cooking AND cleaning in the same day. I did a bit of washing up for about 15 minutes earlier and my lower back is now in agony so DH is making dinner - not a bad deal actually, and I am looking forward to spicy sausages and mash!

For some reason I had a 'really good feeling' about yesterday, but it came to nothing so I made myself pancakes for breakfast and ate so many I didn't then need lunch and felt a bit sick... Blush

My only bit of good news is that babybadger seems to have dropped a bit so no longer kicking quite so sharply in the ribs. Thank goodness for small mercies... I may be completely mad but I am now looking forward to the pain, as it will mean there is something definitely happening. The prospect of a potential 4 more weeks of this is chilling...

buttonmoon78 · 12/07/2011 19:54

Eglu New car is lovely! And v big! It's the same as he had in his last job so I knew exactly what we were getting but it's still exciting having a new one.

Nic when will you learn that ironing is def an optional activity?! Grin Virtually the only thing that gets ironed in this house is a work shirt for dh. And he rarely wears those so it's happy days! I must admit, I'm suffering the same obsession as you - crowning and the burn. It's a bitch, no?
