I'm not going to do the stats as it took up so much of every page! Welcome, everyone!

I am 5'6 and size 6 shoe size. Dh is 5'8. Sisters all had big babies and I was also over 9lbs at birth. So big babies run in the family. Don't worry I know someone who delivered an 11lb baby naturally. Shock Mine have all been sections. Grin

buttonmoon78 · 24/05/2011 16:09

Baby wipes are ace Fab. I use them for all sorts of things. Apparently bikers use them to clean their racing leathers! I never use antibac anything if I can help it.

Confuddled Grin

My sister-in-law delivered an 11lb 80z baby with no stitches mitchell81 !!!!!!!! Wonder if we know the same person lol

Ginfox · 24/05/2011 17:53

Evening all. Agree on the fantasticness of baby wipes, although would probably not use them for their intended purpose. Especially good at getting marks off walls/woodwork.

I picked up a 2nd-hand set of Onelife nappies last week. Reviews are very good, and they seem fine, although I think the smallest size will still be mahoosive on a new baby.

Does anyone else keep getting scary reality-check moments? Hanging washed nappies out to dry was definitely one.

SpannerPants · 24/05/2011 18:05

Inbetweener not sure if your local council do a similar thing but here you can loan a load of nappies for a fortnight for £10, I'm going to do that.

buttonmoon78 · 24/05/2011 19:16

Our council are stuck in the 70s! There's no incentive at all to use real nappies!

This shoulder/rib issue is beginning to get to me. I'm trying my best to do everything the physio said last week but having a shoulder propping up your ribs doesn't help your posture at all!

Oh, lovely new thread. I love what you've done with it already.

Two bits of news from me:

Saw ob today. Hadn't seen this ob before (I'm 32 weeks today) and I said I wanted to actually book in my c-section (had one with my last DC - I'm one of those women who just can't stand pain and don't see why I should put up with it that everyone so disapproves of). He could see in my notes that was what I was down for but said he needed to talk to me about VBAC first. He went out to try and find a nurse to find the leaflets he wanted to show me and when he couldn't find one he said - "oh well, I just book you in then". He asked me what day I wanted and just entered me on the system - so it'll be 11th July if not sooner. I love King's!

I was also successful in my ebay search for a Phil & Ted Vibe 2. £320 all in with doubles kit and raincover etc etc, only round the corner from me so no postage costs and only 6 months old with hardly any use. Am so pleased with my bargain. Now to find the 10 year old Volvo V70 we need.......

confuddledDOTcom · 24/05/2011 19:22

Do you ladies realise the oldest bump is now 35 weeks so (even ignoring me) we could start have babies in the next week or so!

buttonmoon78 · 24/05/2011 20:17

Shock The youngest bump (probably me) is only just into the 3rd trimester so that just sounds all wrong!

I'm still really chuffed that you're still here confuddled. After all, we were all expecting you to give us some gossip long ago!

Poo catchers arriving tomorrow - yay!

Loving the new thread.

buttonmoon78 I get overly excited about washables too! I am looking forward to ordering some pink ones :)

But....I am concerned about having two in nappies as DS is still in nappies and will be 2 and 7 mths when the baby's born. So I will be washing double the nappies. Is anyone else in this situation? I have tried some potty training but he isn't keen and would rather hold it until nappy is on. And what with me being pregnant and knackered, him just starting nursery so being a bit all over the place, and me about to start 3 very busy weeks of freelance work, the timing isn't great! But will the timing ever be good?

I have visions of DS having to potty train himself because I am too disorganised to wash nappies! I could use disposables for a few weeks but I really hate them :)

cara2244 · 24/05/2011 20:37

www.fillyourpants.com is my current favourite nappy site. Some councils do a money back scheme - Notts CC where I live give you £25 if you spend £50 - shame I didn't know about that first time round.

cara2244 · 24/05/2011 20:42

Ginfox I had a scary/reality check moment today when I held my friend's 3 week old...and realised I had forgotten how to hold a newborn and what to do with them...And it was only a couple of years ago!!

Fab123 · 24/05/2011 21:48

Not sure what just came over me but had a sudden and rather irrational panic bout doing the hoovering with a newborn. How do you do this? Can I simply strap them into the carrier and have them on my back/chest? Isn't the noise a bit much for the tiny delicate ears? I don't want to be one of those "must creep around the baby" mothers and want to ensure they can sleep through anything (trying not to make a rod for my own back!) but hoover seems rather loud now I think about it! Help! Confused

buttonmoon78 · 24/05/2011 22:06

Grin it'll be fine! I got all mine used to the hoover nice and early.

OP posts:
Pesha · 24/05/2011 22:50

Or you could just not hoover fab?! Wink

Button - very Envy about you having family with property in the Dordogne. DP's parents have a place in the Vendee which isn't quite as nice imo but its still France! However it was a small bungalow with attached barn which they are converting, they sold the bungalow last year so now its a huge barn with windows and loads of potential but not ready for staying in yet!

Cara - when I was pg with ds1 I spent 4 months in a B&B with dd (aged 2.8 when we moved out) so couldn't potty train her as there was only one shared toilet and it wasn't my carpet to let her pee all over!! And I only moved out 3 weeks before ds was born. When ds was about a month old and dd was about 2.10 we went into town and her nappy was rubbing her thighs but I had forgotten to take a spare so just had to take it off and leave her without and that was that - no accidents and she never wore another daytime nappy!! I think there is a lot to be said for leaving it as late as possible!

Mitchell - I do have moments thinking what the hell am I doing! All 3 of mine will be in school from Sept so it shouldn't be too hard but it is going to be very manic at times I expect. And 4 children just seems like an awful lot, 3 is only slightly more than 2 but 4!! And there is also a little bit of me that thinks I'm mad for giving myself another 4 years of toddler/babyhood to deal with, I've been doing it for nearly 11 years solid already Hmm But mostly I am just really excited about doing it all again Smile

I am 5'5 but have size 7 feet (they used to be 8 but have shrunk over the last few years Confused). My dc have been 8lb, 8lb5 and 8lb13.5 so I'm expecting a 9+lber this time!! They are also all quite long and have big heads! I think ds1 was the shortest but only because he has stumpy legs like his daddy, his body is quite long!! Grin

Although I'm wondering if this one might come early now, BH are now all through the day and night and the pain is tops of thighs and lower back rather than just evening and lower tummy like they were. He is also most definitely lodged right down in my pelvis, walking and moving now quite uncomfortable (on top of the PGP). But I suspect really this is all just to torment me and get my hopes and he will still be late! And I have suddenly got massive, everyone I speak to tells me so! And, unless they know otherwise, they assume I am term and are gobsmacked when they learn I'm not due till end of June! I might be offended but I am also pretty gobsmacked at my own size when I catch sight of myself!!
Confuddled - I will be 35 weeks on Thursday Shock Its gone from feeling like I have ages to go to thinking OMG I'm gonna have a baby soon! Especially considering its half term next week which will fly by and then when they go back to school I will have only just over 3 weeks to go!

Gah, another HUGE post, what is wrong with me?!? Blush I think its the lack of socialising due to just being exhausted/in pain all the time so I'm missing out on a lot of my RL nattering!

Last quick bit of news - we bought a new car today Grin Grin Well, new to us, is 56 plate. Have traded in the FRV cos it was horrid to drive and got a very lovely S-max - its sooo much better. I am very happy and not thinking about the fact that I've spent money I can't really afford Confused

Fab123 · 24/05/2011 23:00

Ooooh it's so bloody exciting!
Wonder who will be first?
I'm expecting another 8 weeks but tbh feel like I could deal if she came in 2, then I get silly panics and think how much I don't know, flap about checking random things on line, wonder how I'm going to manage alone in the middle of the night, but then she kicks and I'm just dying to meet her... (start cycle again).
Congrats on the car Pesha - nice to feel nesty with big things :)
Btw, after we pop we are all going to keep on having a thread, right? Feels like we are in a nice MN bubble here sometimes!

Fab123 · 25/05/2011 01:25

Oh. Well. After saying that, it turns out that Frenemy (aka The Mediator woman) has been stalking me on here since I started. Honestly can say that I feel a bit sick about this as clearly she has some unhealthy obsession with my pg and baby.

Sorry to have to say I won't be posting on the thread any more.

Good luck to everyone and I hope everything goes well for you all.

Want2bSupermum · 25/05/2011 01:45

Congrats on the car Pesha!

I will be 35wks on Saturday and I dropped last week. Very annoying that I need to pee every 5mins. I am still working full time and will be until I get to the end of 39wks. I finish work on the Friday at 3pm and have an acupunture at 4.15pm. If I have not gone into labour before Sunday then go into hospital on Sunday night for my induction.

We finished out baby classes last night. The midwife taking the class was very worried about me and took me up to the evaluation unit on the maternity ward after class finished. She said that it didn't look like I had long left and I really hope that is the case. The baby is around 5.5lbs at the moment and I have lots of fluid so they think this baby is going to be big. Given that nearly all babies in the family are over 10lbs it wasn't something that surprised me. DH asked the obn if a CS was on the cards and told the obn that he wants his wife back without a broken tailbone (my cousin broke her tailbone during labour and it still hasn't healed properly).

Stangirl · 25/05/2011 03:01

fab one of my friends always used to put a hoover on to put her baby to sleep - something about them liking white noise. Personally I haven't hoovered for about 2 decades but if i did i would just put baby down in a very lie flat bouncer that I have - it's a Maclaren and I highly recommend it. I'm not a carry-my-baby-at-all-times type. DC1 is now 15months and she seems to have survived this approach.

buttonmoon78 · 25/05/2011 07:40

I've just sent fab a pm. Am racking my brains thinking of a solution because it's not fair she feels she has to disappear. If she comes back with something I'll let you know.

OP posts:
buttonmoon78 · 25/05/2011 07:43

Pesha I think you are me! I too am thinking 'oh pants - 4. 4?!' I too am huuuuge and keep getting totally Hmm looks when I say it's not due for another 9 weeks! Some people have just come right out with it and told me I must be wrong!

Am currently also jealous of your smax too although when our new vito arrives at the end of next month I'll be chuffed with that! Grin

My DP also have a place in Gascony but like your barn - it's not exactly ready to welcome a family!

MissLolita · 25/05/2011 08:11

Button any news from Fab? It would be such a shame for her to feel like she needed to disappear!

I've heard from her, she's ok. Will update as and when there's anything to say!

They're here!!! My lovely new nappies are here!!! Actually, I'm well impressed - for £90 it's a brilliant set.

Just going to pop them into the washing machine Grin

Morning all,
Poo news about fab hope she manages to find a way to keep in touch. BOO!!! to nosy frenemy !! GO AWAY.

button LOL at your excitement about poo catchers. I have been googling websites like mad and registered on the nappylady last night so will check again today.

Well I have a short day at work today yay Grin as I am leaving early to go and do a bit of maternity shopping. I really am wearing the same old shit day in and day out. The young trendy girls in my office must think im a right boring old mare. I have only 4 weeks left at work so dont want to get too much but I have to do something.

had an interesting night last night. DH went out and my new book had arrived from Amazon. Its a scary thriller about domestic violence ( its better then it sounds ) and I ended up in the bath for two hours once the girls were in bed !!!!!!! I then started having severe braxton hicks and couldnt get out !! i had a proper panic. My bump keeps going rock hard and its all at the top. I get this ridiculous lump above and behind my belly button and NOTHING down below, it feels empty apart from a digging feeling. Im actually wondering seriously if it is breech now ?? As we all know I dont have a bloody appt until im 36 weeks so might give the MW's a ring this afternoon.

Anyway, the sun is shining and im 31+6 Grin might think about packing my bag too !!
