I'm not going to do the stats as it took up so much of every page! Welcome, everyone!

I'm thinking about doing my bag today as well Inbetweener - so far I've got a pile of stuff in the middle of the nursery but I don't know what to put it in! I've got a little wheely suitcase but I'm not sure if getting a holdall will be better as it would take up less space?

I'm 33 +3 but will be working up until 38+5 so I think my bag and notes will be in the boot of my car for a while!

HighFibreDiet · 25/05/2011 11:43

just marking my place. but good to read MissLolita's news at the end of the last thread.

Twit · 25/05/2011 12:26

Had a text from my MW last week asking how I am doing which was nice, and had an appointment today which went well.
babytwit doesn't feel like a big baby, she reckons it's the way I carry and the way he is lying, head right down and bum sticking out that means I am measuring big. We briefly discussed positions for birth, which isn't something I've bothered with before, and she advised a water birth, which is something I've been more and more keen on myself recently. I also checked that whoever turned up would be ok with me giving birth in the water and everyone around here is (so lucky here) Anyhoo I've got my birth plan appointment in 2 weeks (I'll be 36 weeks then) all about the home birth etc, which I have to confirm will be at home (the appointment) and then I get my box delivered all ready for 37 weeks!

I am a bit sad about nappies, but they are so satisfying somehow. I am in the process of getting some more, so I'll let you all know how that goes Grin
I hope you're ok Fab despite the idiots in your life ATM.
I haven't packed properly, although I have thrown a few things into a bag as I've come across them. I would use the bag with wheels on it though easier for you to manouver.
confuddled can you feel us all crossing our fingers for you? Grin Do you think you might get to June now? Shock

I'm off to put a dvd on for DS3 so I can have a sneaky snooze I think, I hope everyone is doing ok.

Christmas78 · 25/05/2011 13:36

Hello all, love the new thread. It's getting so exciting reading everybody's posts as we get closer.

I'm still off work with Bell's Palsy - my facial paralysis is definitely improving although I'm getting migraines with it. Yesterday was a bad day. I had to get off the bus on the way to hospital to be sick. Lay shaking on the floor of the nearest starbucks and ordered myself a taxi to get the rest of the way there. The 'specialist' knew less than my own doctor and spent the rest of the day in bed alternating between migraine, heartburn and nausea. I can't begin to tell you how sorry I felt for myself!

Today is definitely an improvement - isn't it a miracle when you actually get one good nights sleep? - and I'm sure it's only hurting so much because I'm going to make a miraculously fast recovery. Can't help wishing the next few weeks away though. I want my baby now!

Mitchell81 · 25/05/2011 15:15

Christmas I feel so sorry that you have to deal with this on top of being pregnant.
Fab- sorry that you are being stalked aswell.
Button glad your nappies arrived and that they were a good buy.
Twit glad to hear mw thinks baby isn't that big, just the position they are lying in.
Spannerpants I have packed a wheely hand luggage size suitcase for me and will leave replacements, extra items where dh knows they are so can bring in supplies if I need them.
Wanttobesupermom how was your baby shower?
Stangirl glad you got your section booked
Cara re 2 in nappies, my ds1 was only ready the month before his 3rd birthday and I did nothing before then and thought ds2 would be the same but he asked 2yrs 7months to use the potty and both have had minimal accidents so both ready. Just go with whatever they feel like as no point rushing them as only prolongs accidents.

I was dreading today as I turned 30 but have had a great day and been really spoilt. And tomorrow I get to find out my section date. So all good here.

Eglu · 25/05/2011 15:21

Hi All, I feel terrible for Fab. This was one place she could have support from us. If you're reading Fab, I hope you find a way to come back.

I have suddenly come to the realisation that I wil be having a baby soon. I am 34 weeks now and tomorrow is my last day at work. I'm pleased beacuse atm I have no energy to get anything ready for the baby. Oncve I'm finished I will be packing my bag, even though I'm supposed to be having a home birth, you still need a bag. I will also put up the crib and the changing table. I have just realised that although I have washed clothing I have not washed any sheets/bedding or towels so need to do that too. I thin once that is done I will relax and maybe even get some sleep once in a while

Congratulations on your birthday Mitchell. Mine is 8 days away and I don't want to do anything at all.

scarthy1975 · 25/05/2011 15:50

Hi All, loving that we are now in another thread - this must mean that we are getting close to D Day or B Day should I say? I'm now 33 1/2 weeks - hoping that I don't go 10 days over like with DS but i'm sure he/she will arrive when ready!

Eglu So jealous that you finish work tomorrow! I don't finish until 30th June and that seems ages away :(
Christmas good to hear the palsy is improving but bad news about the migraines.

Very impressed with all you mums that are going to use reusable nappies - i'm afraid i'll be buying disposables and damn the environment!

SpannerPants · 25/05/2011 18:21

I'm currently in hospital, have had a headache all day but then got a really puffy face and feet and have some protein in my wee. I've just had a blood test to check for preeclampsia - really hope it's not and that I can go home ASAP! It doesn't help that it's very hot and busy, the lady in the next bed on maternity assessment has just given birth in here as there weren't any free delivery rooms Hmm

JimmyChoo17 · 25/05/2011 19:26

button wanted to post suggestion for fab but wary her stalker might read! But I can't pm you?? Am I doing something wrong?

I am mrs angry today with FAR too many non pc comments being made about my fab replacement which have been instant over last few weeks and I just flipped my lid about it today. If my boss feels he can make those comments mid office then he needs to understand he can face my wrath mid office too....I love my job and feel so insecure going off for a year but will be returning full time as I have no choice sadly. So with unwanted size evaluations, stupid opinions and bad boss comments.... feel very :( today.

JimmyChoo17 · 25/05/2011 19:31

sorry totally missed page 3 of this thread before posting my pathetic woe is me post.

inbetweener that's how my bump feels and baby is breech at moment. I have mw appointment tommorow too so will get reconfirmed!

Christmas so sorry you have so much to deal with with baby on way.

highheelsandequations · 25/05/2011 21:22

Didn't manage to post much on the last thread but have been trying to keep up to date with everyone's news so marking my place here, although who knows whether I'll get chance to post much. 33 weeks today, another 4 weeks of work after this one and I'm exhausted!

I have also bought all my nappies (although still have loads of other stuff to get yet and haven't even started on my hospital bag), still need to wash them all though but waiting until the nursery is cleared out so I can put them away safe. For those of you using cloth, are you planning on taking cloth nappies to the hospital or just using disposables until you're home?

Spanner hope you're okay and out of hospital soon.

buttonmoon78 · 25/05/2011 21:52

highheels I won't be taking them to hospital - one step too far for me!

Jimmy If you find a post of mine, on the blue bar on the far right it says message poster. However, I'll just PM you first then you should be able to reply to me!

Pesha · 25/05/2011 21:53

Too tired to post properly and feeling poo, ds2 has kindly given me his cold.

Just wanted to say Spanner - hope everything is all ok and you are home soon Smile

Twit · 25/05/2011 22:13

I hope you all feel a bit better tomorrow Sad

having had a positive MW appt my kids have all bee arseholes this evening and I feel so helpless to do anything about it. They a re totoally taking advantage of the fact that I have no energy and can't physically get about like nomal and are fighting, answering back, and basically being shits. Am feeling very low now as if I can't manage now, how the feck am I going to manage when BabyTwit comes along?

If I end up going to hospital I would take disposables. I will use disposables for a couple of weeks )or maybe longer depending on how I feel).

It is sports day on friday and am hoping for rain. Then it's 1/2 term, which given the state of things I am dreading.
Then my haircut and then BabyTwit can make his appearance later the following week if he wishes.

Does anyone know when to start the old Raspberry leaf tea? I can't remember.

buttonmoon78 · 25/05/2011 22:22

I think 34wks +?

You're going to manage just fine when babytwit is here. After all, you won't be carrying all the extra weight and when you do sleep it will b e the sleep of the dead!

Hope you feel better tomorrow!

OP posts:
Twit · 25/05/2011 22:28

That's what I thought... I dunno it'll all work out in the end, I think all my old insecurities are cropping up again now (remember how thrilled I was to be pregnant?). I spent most of the evening in and out of tears, which is very unusual of me ( am hard) when I finally manged to get ds3 to stay in bed (and started mning)
Hopefully we'll all sleep well tonight tomorrow being another day etc.

confuddledDOTcom · 26/05/2011 00:12

I'll catch up tomorrow but just wanted to say that we do still have our own group so we can keep up with FAB. If anyone else wants the link send me a message and I'll give it to you, I know it's already been posted but it might help to restrict how many times it's posted.

buttonmoon78 · 26/05/2011 07:49

Thanks confuddled - I'm not on facebook so if that's what happens you'll have to give me all the gossip when it happens!

How are you doing btw? Any more business like contractions yet? I'm hoping you make it all the way to June!

Twit you're just proper fed up. Which is understandable. I think we're all at the point now where we're happy sad happy scared happy tired happy all within about 10 minuted!

I'm off to gp tomorrow to see if there's anything else I can take other than peptac as it's not so effective anymore. And ideally I'd like something in tablet form as the peptac makes me heave just trying to swallow it! I've never been v good with medicines - more of a pill popper!

Also, yesterday I had a call from my consultant's secretary apologising for the way I was spoken to last week. She's said it was utter rot to say that I had to wait til June 29th (no, really?) and they would happily see me next Wednesday if I was prepared to see on of the registrars as my consultant is on holiday. So that's good - hopefully I can get a decent amount of cocodamol from them (rather than the piddling amount the gp gave me) and some dihydrocodeine for the night when dh is home. Which is currently about once a week Hmm

OP posts:
Ginfox · 26/05/2011 09:10

Twit yesterday evening I sobbed for an hour because I'd snapped at DH for no reason. Once I started I couldn't stop. And then I started wondering how I was going to cope with a crying baby when I can't even handle being pregnant..... argh!

Sometimes you just wish your brain had an off-switch.

Hope you're feeling better today.

Heels I have been advised to use disposables until meconium is all gone, as it doesn't wash out of reusables very easily. That's the plan anyway.

Stangirl · 26/05/2011 10:29

twit 3 dc to look after! No wonder you're pooped. I only have one and I dread going on maternity leave as I'll have to take care of her 3 days a week when I can barely move. My DP had the temerity to have a go at me last night for being tired and sleepy - he actually sulked because I wanted to go to bed early. After I shouted at him and told him to fuck off and stop being a wanker I think he won't be doing that again.

buttonmoon78 · 26/05/2011 10:36

DS got stung by a bee this morning which was a bit traumatic! It was hiding in his jumper which had been dried outdoors yesterday. It managed to get him twice before I could get his jumper off. Poor little man was howling!

Of course, once he calmed down he immediately wanted to go to school to show the teachers his war wounds Grin And as I said to DH, at least we know he's not allergic!

Am finishing off my friend's daughter's prom dress today - a rather lovely affair in blue. But I've got lots of sequins to sew onto the bodice so I'll be cross eyed by the end of the day! Makes me v excited about dds' prom dresses in years to come!

OP posts:
Twit · 26/05/2011 10:57

Yes I feel a bit better today Grin thank you muchly, although ds1 (12) is still a bit of a wanker one. DH is back tonight though so it will be better again.
Poor ds, I'm glad he wasn't either allergic or traumatised. And make sure you take lots of breaks so you don't hurt your eyes.

I've got a knitted teddy bear I've almost finished for BabyTwit but have lost the will to carry on even though I'd really like to finish it ready for him.

Yes I have told DH to er get a grip when he's moaned about stuff like that or had the gall to mention his back is a wee bit stiff after sitting down at the computer for a bit. All it takes is a look and he knows.

Christmas78 · 26/05/2011 11:36

A question ladies - how does the music thing work in hospital? Do I need to have something with batteries or will I be able to plug my radio in do you think? Come to that - will a radio pick up signal in a hospital?

buttonmoon78 · 26/05/2011 11:36

*Twit - when I went for physio last week, she came out of her lair room and told dh off for asking me to massage his back. She announced to the whole waiting room that he had to massage my back and buttocks and to be grateful she wasn't giving him a clip around the ear! He was a little Blush

Problem with breaks is I keep looking at this instead Grin

And as for ds, allergic he is not. Traumatised? Well, he flatly refused to put his jumper on so w'll have to wait and see on that front Smile

OP posts:
Twit · 26/05/2011 12:31

lol button I just laughed at a thread and gave BabyTwit the hiccups.

I have no idea christmas sorry. If I go in I'll take my i-pod.
How are you today?

I was sort of asked if I would like to advocate Home Birth at my appointment, does anyone know what it might entail? TBH I don't like the idea of seeming like I'm forcing the issue with people if that makes sense and I think alot of people wanting HB want it for reasons other than my own (ie can't be arsed with hospital).
Are there any opinions? She said they need people like me, whatever that means...Hmm
