Will this be the final thread?!? I somehow think not, with more and more people starting on maternity leave, we have time for a good few more methinks!

OP posts:

Barbie That's ridiculous. I hope you complained about your wait. I've got to the age now, where I have a definitive time slot. If I'm not seen, then off I go. (I refer to my GTT where I was kept waiting, so buggered off to the pub for a cooked breakfast). I hate the "oh well, they're pregnant so they've nothing better to do" attitude of some people. I'm the same for any appointment, unless it's a real emergency.

I, on the other hand saw a consultant today without having to wait for too long! He reckons the head is down, but I'm going for a presentation scan at some point in the next 2 weeks to check everything.

And I do hope that Kara remembers the difference between anusol an anbesol before the baby is born! Grin

Wow Merlion congrats knackered I was thinking the same thing...like some kind of time warp. Wonderful news though, look forward to hearing all about it and her very shortly (please)

The strange thing about my lasagnes is that although the taste is a bit weird, its not unpleasant with a pg head on so it wont go to waste whilst I'm still pg...after that my tastebuds might return to normality so best I scoff it all now.

Who was asking about ML? I'm not on ML yet. Mind you its only because I work for myself and I'm too rubbish at accounts to work out my SMP proportions so officially I'll be on ML from 5th June (edd is now 12th June). Realistically though tomorrow will be my last day when I set my email account to 'off now til September...or October...or maybe 2012...ie whenever I feel like coming back' Just got to persuade DH to go and earn us some money now (hes getting a bit too comfortable being at home)

Right you lot, more baby hatches now please...

petitech · 26/05/2011 19:11

Merlion - congrats! And what pretty names :)

NOw who's next!! DH is determined to hurry things a long for me lol.

Here is a link for you biological nurturing

And I have to say Love Hearts rock!! Haven't gotten around to picking up my Gaviscon from the pharmacy, so have been eating love hearts and they really do work!!

CuppaTeaJanice · 26/05/2011 19:47

Hi everybody! Just thought I'd nip back and say hello to anybody who remembers me and wish you all the very best of luck for the births of all your beautiful little babies!! I can't believe it's almost June already!! I'm looking forward to hearing news of the new arrivals - I wonder who will be first?!! Grin

I have some news of my own - I'm now 18 weeks pregnant, due at the end of October. It's been a bit scary with bleeding etc but so far everything seems to be going well. As many of you know, pregnancy's never quite the same after you've had a miscarriage. I've seen a few other ex-Jue-in-Juners on the antenatal club boards but haven't joined one myself as I couldn't face the inevitability of people dropping out along the way. It's fun to lurk though and spot familiar names!

I hope you have all had happy and problem-free pregnancies - I haven't read the tens of thousands of posts that you lot have written between november and now!!

Good luck everybody - I hope you all have safe and straightforward deliveries!!

Smile
Thornykate · 26/05/2011 21:04

Hi Janice what lovely news congratulations! Hope you are feeling well am glad you popped in to share your good news :)

In case you didn't see it I have namechanged from mrs bigw just so you aren't wondering who I am!

takethatlady · 26/05/2011 21:57

Wow congratulations to both janice and merlion! I thought you were on here this morning merlion?! Sounds like it was quick (or, more probably, I'm confused ...) Can't wait to hear more.

Just had my NCT breastfeeding class and it was actually great - the lady was really open to questions about formula feeding, alcohol consumption (!), and so on, and I didn't feel she was pushing an agenda at all - she just wanted to help. She did pass around a leaflet about the biological nurturing thing. Also I didn't know nose to nipple, tummy to mummy, or not to put your hand on the back of the head too forcefully ... I enjoyed it. Plus I heard about these - they look like they might be useful!

sasamaxx · 26/05/2011 22:09

Congratulations Janice - so lovely to see you on here, and what fab news Grin
You must be over the morning sickness and everything - have a healthy and happy pregnancy and make sure you keep us posted on your progress.
Looking forward to your birth announcement Smile

motherofsnortpigs · 26/05/2011 22:28

Congratulations merlion Rosina was my grandmother's middle name - I think it's fab. Good news from you too janice - enjoy you pregnancy! barbie DS has just grasped walking, at last. He is too cute toddling around after his sisters. He has also mastered the big climbing frame and slide in the garden. I have nerves of steel :) MW has been here this evening. There are 5 cylinders of entonox in my garage. Anyone want to come to a party?

PerpetualProvocateur · 26/05/2011 22:34

Just a quick post from me as I?m knackered. I started having a weird crampy feeling today too, but it only lasted an hour or so. Have been getting loads of BHs though. 37 weeks tomorrow, so full term!

Congratulations, Merlion! Do share more when you get the chance.

Moog, my feet are also huge swollen elephant feet. Very attractive look, isn?t it!

Nurse, despite also thinking I was going to get away without them, I?ve developed some stretch marks too. Hopefully they fade quickly after the birth!

Newneeps, your situation sounds exactly like what I?m going through right now. I think they are overly cautious about these things at this stage. Try not to worry too much if it was only a trace amount of protein in your urine. Do you have serious swelling? In any case, a blood test will tell very quickly if you?ve got PE.

Right, I?m definitely also going to have to make some banana bread this weekend in honour of baby banana! DH and I love it, and he?s been known to intentionally let bananas overly ripen so I?ll make it Grin

NurseSunshine · 26/05/2011 22:42

Wow congratulations Merlion Grin

Big congratulations to you too Janice thanks for coming on and letting us know. Wishing you a happy and stressfree pregnancy :)

LOL Motherof Grin I don't get my entonox till I'm actually in labour, the hospital send it round in a taxi apparently Confused

KaraStarbuckThrace · 27/05/2011 03:40

Cuppa - wonderful news, good luck with the rest of your pgcy!

Errr my turn to be sleepless! IN addition DS is asleep next to me and DH is in our bed. DS keeps getting in bed with us, DH tried to move him to the cot but he protested "nooo I want to sleep next to mummy". He has been so clingy to me the last few days and has been playing up as well - think he knows the baby is coming soon...

bananarama05 · 27/05/2011 06:30

Baby Banana is here as you may have guessed :)

Managed to avoid the syntocin drip but still had an "interesting" 14 hours, no-one likes a horror story so I shall leave further details at the door!

Isobella was born Wednesday night weighing 6lb 15oz and we came home around midnight tonight.

I think I'm going to love my Moby wrap as so far tonight every time I've put her down she's screamed until she's been picked up again hence I'm now typing one handed so shall apologise if this doesn't make much sense but am also somewhat lacking in sleep too!

Will catch up with the goings on properly soon :)

CitizenOscar · 27/05/2011 07:37

Congratulations merlion and banana - lovely to get news of the arrivals! Been feeling a bit miserable (no real reason) and this has really cheered me up. Looking forward to more news from you both, and the rest of us who are still waiting :)

misshoohaa · 27/05/2011 07:52

Congrats banana I'm keen for the birth story as horrid as it might be!!?? great you got home nice and soon and hope you and Isobella enjoy your first few days together!

Wow babies are well and truly coming now aren't they.

Hope your feeling OK citizen?

Me and DP had a curry last night and coincidently started today with s little romp in the sack, u never know these old wives tales just might be true..... The bump is currently going a but mental, probably thoroughly unimpressed by being repeatedly knocked on the head..... Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 27/05/2011 08:12

Woohoo, Banana! Congrats on your little dd, I love the name!
Still all girls so far!

Thornykate · 27/05/2011 08:28

Congratulations banana well done! Lovely to hear you are both ok & LO arrived safely if not easily. Hope she settles more in the days to come x

Am officially over my due date now, 40+1. even DP phoned home last night & asked "have you not had the baby yet?" Angry I told him I'm turning my phones off if anyone else calls to ask me more stupid questions as if I'm going to give birth at home alone & forget to mention it to anyone unless they ask me first.

Think DP is mildly panicking now as he is due home today for a week so might actually have to be birth partner, we all half expected another earlier baby which he probably wouldn't make it in time for. Despite the amount of kids we have dp has never been present for the births! Shock . Come to think about it maybe there is good reason for that. He went on to ask if we were just waiting for my waters to break now & when I told him no my waters never go first I am waiting for contractions he asked "what is a contraction?". I was speechless. He obviously fooled me & zoned out through all the One Born Every Minute episodes we watched & is going to be in for a baptism of fire in the delivery suite Grin good job he is great with the babies when they arrive or I would be v worried right now!

Hope you all have a lovely day, I will be mostly cleaning in between complaining about lack of birth action/ overdueness.

sasamaxx · 27/05/2011 08:51

Ooohhhhh congratulations Banana - looking forward to hearing all about it Grin
Can't believe there stil hasn't been a boy!!!

Thornykate my waters don't go either - actually considering asking them not to break them this time to see what happens.

Kara bet he does know the baby is imminent. My 2 are playing up and I haven't the energy to deal with them just now Sad

39wks today and already completely and utterly fed up with waiting.
I just told DH on the phone that he will be going out to get me a curry tonight and he quietly accepted this, with no complaints. I think he is a bit scared of me just now.

Thornykate · 27/05/2011 08:57

Sasa I read some really good stuff on a link kindly posted a few threads back for me by mosp & it confirmed in my mind that I dont want them breaking them for me again this time. Will try & find the link for you.

Hope everyone toddlers & little kiddies behave today; last day of school for mine then half term for a week...

Congratulations banana I'm sorry it was 'interesting'. I hope you're recovering well. sasa and thorny , my waters will go about 3 mins before the baby arrives if previous form is anything to go by. nurse They send it in a taxi?! I don't expect more than a sniff or 2 anyway. If they didn't send it until I was in labour, I'd have had the baby and just gnawed off DH's arm to deal with the pain :) He had his refresher lesson in fast labours last night. I couldn't read him, but I don't think he has any wish to be a hero and would rather leave it to the mw.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 27/05/2011 09:02

What lovely news to wake up to. Congrats on your wee girls safe arrivals Banana and Merlion Grin And Congrats to you Cuppa, hope all goes wwell from here til baby for you.

Ifancyanewname · 27/05/2011 09:32

Hi all, can I come and join you ladies? I've been lurking for a week or two but I'm really struggling and needing support now the end is nigh :) I'm 36 weeks and 1 day and hoping and praying I wont goto 40 weeks! I've already got one dd who is 2 on Monday so I'm panicing about how I'll cope with 2 to look after!!!! Hello everyone, you all seem like a lovely bunch!

PerpetualProvocateur · 27/05/2011 09:32

Congratulations Banana, and welcome to the world Isobella!

Thorny, Grin at your DP's lack of knowledge about labour and birth...sounds like he needs an NCT class!

Off to the MW here in a bit to fight for my home birth...
