Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Hi all, and fingers x'd for all the ladies who are experiencing bleeding.

I can't really bring myself to be excited, due to my history but I have a scan on Monday morning to see if everything is okay. I don't really feel pregnant apart from the retching and feeling irritable and finding reasons to cry. I think even seeing a HB won't be enough, as last time baby passed away a few days after my 7 week scan. I guess I can only pray and take each day as it comes. I was nearly sick yesterday from the retching, and I just sat down and was so thankful that I am having these symptoms. I also feel like I have been rock climbing, as my shoulders are constantly stiff and in pain; infact my whole body is aching - anyone else have this, or is it just me?

Also, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but my DD has become INCREDIBLY clingy. She is constantly trying to sit on my lap or hug me during the day, and it doesn't stop there. She has started getting into bed with us at night just so she can hug me all night. She is only 3, and we have never told her about any of our pregnancies, but it is like she has a sixth sense and starts getting so much more loving when I am pregnant. The other night she told me she had a scary dream where a giant baby wearing a nappy came and "spitted" on her!! Apparantly the baby was huge and followed her downstairs! It's so sweet and strange at the same time! I'm having strange dreams myself about our house being haunted and people disappearing....

Hope everyone else is ok - sorry for going on a bit - I haven't told anyone of this pregnancy yet so it's nice to be able to write everything on here for a bit of relief!!

shonnomanom · 20/05/2011 16:54

spagbol First time round I kept a wee tub with richtea and ginger snaps in it next to the bed. So that when I woke feeling yuck I could sit up nibble on a biscuit and hopefully feel abit better by the time I actaully had to move.

Sending happy/psitive thoughts to all those worrying. Iv been thinking alot about nanny too. If your lurking please post so we all know your alright x

I really sympaphise with all of you that are waking during the night. I am the complete opposite. Iv been soooo tired this week that I actaully took a 2 hour nap after work this morning. I normally cannot nap at all during the day.

Ofcourse my extreme tiredness is not ideal for my horny (sorry if tmi) dp!

shonnomanom · 20/05/2011 17:06

Sorry milky cross post.

Yes my dd(3y this month) is the exact same. Looking back dd started being clingier round about the time I conceived. She has calmed down (slightly) but gets worse when we're around other kids. Our weekly playgroup sessions have been a nightmare. I actually had to remove her this week because she starts screaming if she doesnt get her way. nightmare.

ALSO
I meant to post earlier. Im interested in your thoughts ladies.
Today I got a letter from my doctor inviting me to go for the flu vacine. Apparently its now routine here for pregnant women. Im in 2 minds about it. When H1N1 was rife I was eligible for the jag due to work, as was dd. But I looked into it and decided for us not to get it.
I would be really interested to hear your views about getting the flu jag in pregnancy. Thanks in advance, Sho x

knittiekitty · 20/05/2011 18:22

I hadn't thought about flu vaccine - there isn't much of it about at the moment but that's no guarantee. I haven't had flu before so presumably have no immunity. Will add it to my list of worries for my next 3am wide awake session!
I take some comfort knowing I'm not the only one awake and cross because of night-time weeing. Last night I stubbed my toe in the dark again which didn't help and I was really hungry. I might adopt Sho's biscuit tub approach although I bet that will sound incredibly noisy for poor Dh!!
Hope all is settling for worried ladies, I keep thinking of you all x

P.S my first mw appt is at 11 weeks which is ok but my nuchal/dating scan is 13+1 weeks. The unit say that's fine but it seems a late scan date to me if there are any implications to follow up like we had last time. Anyone else booked in so late?

Mummaroo · 20/05/2011 18:49

Been ridiculously over emotional today, cried at everything or if something wasn't there, nothing!! I haven't even rung the MW's yet, I went to the GP, for my back and told him and he mentioned getting me registered with a hospital (but I want a home birth if possible) and to be honest even though it doesn't feel like that long ago, I can't believe how much I cannot remember from when I was pregnant with DS!!! So that bodes well for the next 8 months Confused

scarlettsmummy2 · 20/05/2011 18:58

hi tummytickler, I phoned the midwife booking line this afternoon and she has given me an estimated due date of the 28th January 2012. Seems so far away but I expect it will go in quickly.

also, I have a fixed term contract with work until may 2012, been there since last october. Does anyone know if I will be eligible for statutory maternity pay?

lily06 · 20/05/2011 19:07

Hello ladies,

I'd like to join you here if that's ok. Got my BFP this time last week and I'm excited and also terrified.

I had an ectopic pregnancy last January (lost my right tube), got pg again last May and miscarried, not sure whether that was ectopic or not as very early.

Based on last period, I'm now 5+1. No symptoms other than gone off chocolate and breasts a bit tender. Lots of cramps and funny pains and twinges, but no idea what is normal, as the last two pregnancies obviously weren't.

Anyway, trying to be positive, and have already make appt for early scan at 7 weeks and booked in for midwife appt at 9 weeks.

Looking forward to being a part of this thread.

shonnomanom · 20/05/2011 19:37

Scarlett Check here for your statutory materninty pay rights

Welcome and congrats to todays newbies. lily so sorry to hear of your chocolate troubles!! Im very much in favour of the chocolate these days.

Being very emotional this evening and dd's behaviour is not helping matters.

Hope your all well, Sho x

tummytickler · 20/05/2011 20:13

Welcome Lily - going off chocolate is a blessing in disguise, I am sure! I hope to crave salad, and plain chicken, and put on 9lb in the next 40 weeks

Weevie · 20/05/2011 20:16

Evening everyone!!

How are you all doing?

I hope both supadupapupascupa and hotcrossSES are doing ok? FX for another little embie implanting =)

I have a few questions hope you don?t mind!!

  1. Is there anyone else on this thread that is now PG from IVF?
  2. Is anyone else having stomach pains (cramps) I'm now 5 weeks and at times they wernt there others there was a dull ache and then at times it was like I was being stabbed. I realise that it was probably it connecting to my blood supply and my body getting used to things changing. But today they haven?t really been there so I was a bit anxious. (I also think part of it may have been constipation from the folic acid) Sorry TMI!!

Sorry this is number 1 so I?m over analysing everything. I?m worried when pains are there and when they're not. Blush

The only craving i had was for fresh bread on tuesday. Other then that I have the sore boobs and hungry all the time. Things are making me feel queasy and I have a hightened sense of smell. DH just opened a can of beer in the dining room which made me gag!

blueeyedmonster · 20/05/2011 20:20

HI ladies can I join you?

I got my bfp last week (but didn't confirm and tell dp until sunday).

I've had a few pains mostly until I got my bfp but a few after. It's stuff streatching afaik.

I have ahd sore boobs for about two weeks and am soooooo tired. I ahve the yucky taste in my mouth too. All that happened much later on last time!

d0gFace · 20/05/2011 20:27

Hello's and welcome Lily.

I had stomach cramps, kinda like mild peroid pains at the start(week 4/5). Dont really get them anymore, sometimes feel abit uncomfortable but Im bloated 80% of the time.(In week 7 now)

Ive started retching everytime I go into the kitchen. My dp thinks im mental. :)

d0gFace · 20/05/2011 20:30

Hi and congrats blue!

Im sure my boobs are getting more painful as the weeks go on, when I wake up they feel so heavy and hurt when I walk. Starting to think I should get measured for some new bra's.

summerfruitsalad · 20/05/2011 20:47

Hi everyone, hope all is well, got me some catching up to do!

I had a bleed at the weekend, was mainly brown blood but had a scan on Wednesday to check and there was a little 6 week bean, heart beating away! Never felt so awful as when I saw the blood, it was horrible. Think my due date is moving to 8th Jan but I won't know until the 12 week scan. My scan showed I have a 1cm pocket of blood below the sac, very normal but it is what caused the bleed. It's almost reassuring there was a reason for it.

Saw the docs today to get referred to the MW, it will be the same one as last time, she may well remember! I may end up under consultant care as I had pregnancy induced hypertension and some pre-eclampsia symptoms with DS but I think the MW will decide on that.

Going to catch up on some posts now and order a takeaway, baby in bed and husband off doing his thing!

shonnomanom · 20/05/2011 21:15

weevie everything your feeling is completely normal, the cramping will calm down soon

Welcome and congrats blueeye

Congrats summer thats great news that everything is ok! Thats interesting about the pocket of blood.

blueeyedmonster · 20/05/2011 21:30

Thanks dOgFace and shonn

I think I may need to be measured for some new bras soon too, mine are just the same but they are worse at the end of the day, not too bad in the morning!

Glad all was well at the scan and you found out where the bleed was coming from summer

ghosteditor · 20/05/2011 22:35

Just popping in to post re the flu jab - don't worry too much about immunity as there are lots of different strains about and you can't be immune to them all. It's also worth noting that the flu jab only gives you immunity to certain strains.

I usually have the jab every year due to asthma. Last year, things were crazy at work and I forgot to sort it out. This March, I got flu (also had it 5 years ago so know the difference between that and a cold). I really thought I was dying as it made me so sick. My lungs filled up and I found it hard to breathe, and all my glands went up so I had to put an ice pack on my throat and face to sleep. I was sick and had no energy for days, and wasn't back to normal for weeks. You really don't want to put your body though that while pg, trust me.

The worst jab symptom I've had was a sore arm! Anyway, I know I'll be taking up the offer!

Weevie · 20/05/2011 22:55

Congratulations blueeye

Thank you for reassuring me shonnomanom

Thats great news summer

I had flu this year it was awful! I was pretty much in bed for 2 weeks!!

Mum2be79 · 21/05/2011 08:16

I'm 7 weeks + 1 to day.

My booking in appointment is Tuesday 7th June. I feel so much better than I did two weeks ago.

Still have the sore breasts which oddly enough wakes me up at 2am EVERY morning. Nausea comes and goes but is very mild. Cramps are subsiding but replaced with severe bloating and some constipation this week. My symptoms are exactly the same as my mother's when she was pregnant with me!

I get nervous when my symptoms aren't showing so sort of crave them now to reassure me!

shonnomanom · 21/05/2011 08:48

Morning all!
Welcome & congrats Mum2be79

I think my main concern with the flu jag is when to get it rather than the getting it. iykwim.
Im probably wrong but will the vaccine their using just now not be different from the one they give out in the winter given that that is technically flu season. So if we get it just now will we be offered it again in the winter. Im going to call my gp on Monday.

Im definately getting it, my friend took flu/swine flu when she was 8months and spent a week in hospital as a result. She said it was the worst experience of her life. I had flu as a kid, it was horrible, I felt like a hologram.

Oh thats a lot of thinking for a Saturday morning.

Going to tell my siblings and my 2 grannies today, we'll see dp's family tommorrow so will tell them then. We'r not telling anyone else untili the photoshoot (scan).

Hope everyone has lots of symptoms (in the nicest possible way Smile )

Sho x

hotcrossSES · 21/05/2011 09:06

Morning everyone and welcome to all the new BFPs!

I'm feeling stressed, worried and lonely this morning. Still no further bleeding but my swollen sore boobs have gone and I'm freaking out. DH has gone off on a works do until tomorrow morning (to watch the rugby final in Cardiff) and I just feel like crying.
I've got to go into work this morning and then a wedding reception at midday. I just hope that will distract me.

Sorry for me post but really needed to get that off my chest.

supadupapupascupa · 21/05/2011 09:27

hotcrosses it is positive news that the bleeding has stopped but i understand your worry. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I've had no further bleeding either so maybe we can both put it behind us.....i hope so.

Best thing to keep busy, sounds like you have a good day ahead.

hotcrossSES · 21/05/2011 09:41

Thank you Supa
FX for all of us! Hopefully I'm making a mountain out of a molehill and all will be fine :)
You are right that no further bleeding is good and we must hang on to that!

falabalamb · 21/05/2011 14:53

Hi, newbie here too. 6 weeks pregnant so due on the 16th of January I think. I have 2 others. Haven't been to the midwife yet as not yet registered at the docs (only just moved house). Going to get it done next week, if I can move off the sofa. I'm feeling awful, you name an early pregnancy symptom, I've got it! I think my body has given up little bit more with each pregnancy! Anyway, hope you're all doing well :)
