Hi all, just been catching up with posts as I was doing a module for my Masters last week and then had a couple of days of leave at home on Mon and Tues.

So: weight -wise - have given up! Am occasionally weighing self, but only for a good laugh at rapidity of weight gain. Have instead cheered myself up by buying some new threads at Mamas and Papas yesterday - v good skinny cargo pants available, fyi!

Purchases: we are in midst of trying to choose buggies and nursery furniture. A friend has given us their moses basket, so we will start with that, and then we are going to go for a cot-bed, prob from Mamas and Papas as well, as their sale is pretty good at mo, and the stuff looks quite nice quality (as opposed to John Lewis stuff, which looked cheap when I went yesterday....). We are trying to choose between Mamas and Papas Mylo or Sola, or iCandy cherry for buggy. None has option of adding on if we have another, but that won't be for at least another 2 years (due to my job), so I figure we can work it out then (and some friend or other is bound to have one going spare by then I think!). Any feedback from anyone who has used/heard anything about those buggies gratefully recieved!

BB3, I def felt less movements in hot weather as well - I think she was feeling hot and lethargic. Was starting to get a bit worried, until she went for epic punching session last night all night!! She is a real mix of her mummy and daddy: daddy is a right fidgit, and mummy gets v lazy in hot weather!

super: congrats on ring, and your DP sounds so lovely! Nearly had a bit of tearing-up reading your post!

Babs: hope your mum stays well. Crossing all 10 digits for you all.

Hope everyone is well: hugs to all!
xx

Well I've put on 16lbs, OB didn't say anything. I'm worried I'll pig out on snack food on our road trip so we'll see what I weigh next month. Bump kept moving every time he got the heartbeat so OB couldn't shove the device in my face and await my overflowing emotion :)

sassy34264 · 29/06/2011 18:25

bb3 i use to work with dean with the triplets and still have mutual friends. i knew they had lost one but didnt know they had lost another. so sad. he is a really nice guy.
i think i have put on about 2 stones! not surprised seeing as im practically on first name terms with the local chippy. Blush ive only recently moved here and its the best chippy ive ever been to- damn. Grin

superjobeespecs · 29/06/2011 18:42

ah thanks rebel he has his faults but when he's good he's really good :) tho he hates it, we're not a very soppy couple we dont do big gestures very often this one was defo a surprise Grin

today i feel like a whale, just bumped into a friend ive not seen in about a year or so, she's 5 weeks away from giving birth.. and is bloody smaller than me!!!! :(

i bought salad for tea and for after glazed ring donuts mmmmm

SconesForTea · 29/06/2011 18:47

I weighed myself today Noooooooooooooooooooo! Have put on 19lb and am in the 'you have gained too much weight' area of the handy chart I printed off the net. This time I'm putting the scales away for good. After all, I'm not going to stop eating cake, so I may as well stop weighing myself and enjoy the eating. At this stage last time I'd put on 11lb Hmm and was eating just as much I'm sure.

PA Grin Didn't he hear the hb at all?

superjo I am going to see TT with a very pregnant lady on Friday (39 I think) and I'm very scared I'm going to be the same size or bigger than her.

BabC fingers crossed for your mum.

SconesForTea · 29/06/2011 18:47

When I look at a picture taken of me just prior to DD's birth I'm sure I'm that big already. What is going on.

superjobeespecs · 29/06/2011 18:51

thats like me with DD my whole 40+6 with her i put on 1st 12lb bang on 'ideal weight' at the time see this time i look down and go ''im sure your sister wasnt this big at 9 months'' then i get kicked in the fanjo :( baby doesnt like getting told he's a bigun!! not that mummys a fatty who cant stop eating pastries and yumyums and donuts no it cant be that

btw v.v jealous at your seeing TT hope its a good night and your friend doesnt pop there!!

cupofteaplease · 29/06/2011 19:21

BabC, sorry about your mum, best wishes to her.

Had a busy day on a school trip today, but was lots of fun. Am striking tomorrow, so can take it easy. Smile

I haven't weighed myself in a while, but keep being told my bump is tiny (amazing really considering I was a 12/14 before pregnancy- hardly had a tiny stomach to start with!!)

BB3 · 29/06/2011 19:41

Scones TT are amazing. I went the week before last. I wasn't so keen on the ear bleeding I had to get through with the Pet Shop Boys but TT were fab, they do the 4 piece TT show first, then Robbie, then the reunited 5. It's brilliant! Far better than their older concerts (although I didn't see the last two tours after they got back together so I'm comparing it with the old 90s concerts pre-break up).

I haven't been weighed by midwife apart from booking in and I am definitely not being weighed unless they crane lift me onto the scales. I AM HUGE. Will try and take a picture tomorrow and put it on my profile because seriously I am starting to worry it's not normal and it's all bloody rock hard so I look like I have a stone bolder up my top!

DH is back tonight but not until 1am so am trying to occupy myself in London until I can reasonably go and buy a book and sit in the airport arrivals until he gets here. I figure if I leave the office in half hour, I wont be at the airport much before 10 and then it's only three hours to wait. Or I might drive up and park in services and read in a Costa or something so I don't have to pay ridiculous airport parking prices! So far I have cleared my emails, done some of the rubbish admin bits on the to do list and cleaned my desk and my laptop. I've watched Murray and Nadal win and I really am running out of things to do!! And I am off tomorrow (not striking just holiday so I don't have to get up after a few hours sleep) so looking forward to chilled one at home.

Anybody else's boobs going off the scales? I am normally a 32-34 C/D depending on the shop and I am in 38 E bras at the moment and they are getting uncomfortable! And I am leaking quite a lot at really inappropriate times (and of course when I have forgotten to put nursing pads in! Grin sorry for TMI!

Ooh I can't wait to buy baby stuff.... roll on 19 July and seeing those little beans again and then I am off shopping...

sassy it was awful, the first little girl didn't make it very long at all (which was expected as she was critical in the womb) but the little boy bless him put up a real fight but had problems breathing after quite a while and lost his little fight for life. That programme is hideous and I don't know why I watch it but it does give you some hope that if our little ones were born now there would be an ok chance of survival, although as much as I hate being this fat and uncomfortable, these two are under strict instructions to stay put until at least 32 weeks (and you can be sure I'll be on here at 40+ weeks ordering the beggers out knowing my luck! Wink)

PenguinArmy · 29/06/2011 20:35

He got the HB a few seconds each time, enough to get a number, but he did rather grumpily say 'well it's 157' and then stomp off to write it down Grin

Boobs aren't too big here I'm afraid and no leaking either. I do have to wear pads in my knickers.

emmazed · 01/07/2011 11:57

hey ladies

hope you are all well. i am good and very excited that there is only half a day of work before the weekend! i can't wait. we are having our new wardrobes fitted this weekend, which will mean we can then move all the junk out of the nursery and actually start to plan it out.

i had my first (and hopefully last!) leg cramp last night. it was very painful - apparently they are very normal. hope i dont get too many. apart from that everything is going really well for me. i am having such a lovely easy pregnancy - i feel so lucky.

26+3 today and starting to count down the weeks now...

x

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 01/07/2011 13:12

i'm defo counting down the weeks, my company have just announced more changes to the commision structure so my money should now drop by c. £500-600 per month, and i'll probably spend the rest of my preganancy on a performance improvement plan as i'll never acheive new targets.

on top of that they have moved me to a new team where i don't know any1, really just want out of here. Sad

sorry everyone rant over,

rebelwithoutababy · 01/07/2011 13:39

OOh yes, me too counting down weeks: 10 weeks left, but have a couple of hols coming up, so actually only 8 weeks of work! Yippee! Might draw a chart on the wall by my desk, like in a prison....
Hmm, LOs movements giving cause for concern: she has always been a big kicker, but bit quieter in day now I think - not sure if it's just me though...she has given a couple of big kicks in last 20 mins while I have been really concentrating, but it's a bit different...am thinking might just pop to GP to get them to listen for HB and for some reassurance, as we are off away for the weekend tonight, and don't want to keep worrying or leave til Monday if it is different...what do you all think?

PenguinArmy · 01/07/2011 16:38

Phone up the MWs at your hospital

superjobeespecs · 01/07/2011 16:58

agree with penguin, rebel just to ease your mind for the weekend hope alls well :)

im a complete moody cow today, OH and i have been discussing our plans for when wee one comes where we're going to live etc. need a bigger house not in our home town and seriously considering moving down south again but i dont think i want to :( my heads bursting and im tired :(:(

hope everyone else is having a better day :)

sassy34264 · 01/07/2011 21:08

hi everyone.
ive just had some brilliant news today. my best friend had her 12 week scsn today and everything looks good. she has had 2 miscarriages in the past 18 months. she miscarried the 1st one literally hours after i had told her i was pregnant with twins and the 2nd one a week after i got pregnant with this one. cant tell you how shit that made me feel. but being the best friend in the world she has never once made me feel bad or awkard. she was on this thread originally as she was due 9th oct, some of you may remember her linda40? she is now due in jan.
emazed i get leg cramps in pregnancy. the bloody hurt. i waddled very slowly towards the end of last pregnancy but boy could i jump out of bed fast to get that foot on the floor to ease of the cramp! im not looking forward to them agsin, but its definately the carpal tunnel that im dreading. oh my god, the pain was horrendous. worst symptom ever and i had spd.
rebel hope all is well with baby and you have a nice weekend away.
my dd1 has gone to a 1st ever concert tonight watching peter andre. my poor 58 yr old mother has took her. bet thats going to be fun for her!
jedward are supporting. being pregnant has some extra benefits. Grin

FrancesW · 02/07/2011 23:38

sassy34264 that's great news. Never easy with close friends. My friend is trying and I think for a while, so quite hard to tell her (tho not anywhere near the same).

I'm new to this site and would really like some advice. I'm trying to work out whether I should fly to Bali for work. If I weren't pregnant I'd be so excited as I've never been and to have everything paid for! But I'll be 26 weeks and its a 20 hr flight each way. Work are being totally cool and say its up to me (helpfully my boss is pregnant with her second and due in Jan). It would be really good to go for work reasons and to see a bit of Bali, but the flight and jetlag will be killer (I'd prob arrive Friday, work Saturday, have Sunday off and fly back Mon). Help!

PenguinArmy · 02/07/2011 23:41

I'd do it. Would work let you have tues and wed off to compensate the weekend?

superjobeespecs · 03/07/2011 23:40

i have just realised that when ppl name change on here there is no record of it and i have basically gate crashed this thread presuming you could see who i used to be Blush i joined, posted here, then name changed the next day i was moodymardycow :) what with just realising i thought i'd let you all know in case you've been thinking im a total bint just turning up and expecting to be recognised!!

rebelwithoutababy · 04/07/2011 09:42

Thanks for advice all: everything well with LO, she is moving tons and was good and wriggly all weekend. We had a lovely break, although am shattered now!
Sassy great news about Linda40 and I do remember her from this thread: so pleased to hear she is doing well!
Anyone else struggling with commute to work now? Had to get off tube halfway in today as I was feeling so faint, even though I was sitting down! My blood pressure is pretty low most of the time, so I think I can't really cope with the hot weather as well....roll on mat leave!
xx

BB3 · 04/07/2011 10:45

Hello all

sassy that's brilliant about your friend - huge congrats.

Super how are the decisions with the house going? Is there somewhere near by you could move rather than down south if you would prefer not to go that way?

Frances As long as the doctor is happy for you to fly I'd go for it - I got a fit to fly note for my last holiday (it was only 4 hours away but I look so much further along than I was at 23 weeks and didn't want to risk any issues at the airport) and they do a good check up on you (blood pressure, babies heart beats, urine etc) before they sign you off so you can be sure you are fit to go.

rebel glad LO is moving around lots. Can't believe how tired I get for 'normal' things. Went to a family wedding on saturday night, was in bed by 11.30 but yesterday I was useless and so very very grumpy!!! The hot weather is a killer - everyone keeps telling me we are going to have an Indian Summer so it will be tough in September and October and I keep thinking it's tough enough now in this heat!!

I'm feeling a bit rough today. Had a bit of an upset tummy this morning (fine now) and have like periods pain in my lower tummy and the rest of my tummy is tender but not painful - anyone know if this is normal? LOs are quieter than normal today too but they do tend to have some quiet days - have got my little check list thing to monitor movements so going to see how I feel this afternoon and if I'm still feeling rough then I will call midwife later this afternoon.

superjobeespecs · 04/07/2011 11:02

hey bb3 we're leaning more towards moving south of the border atm, his mum and sis would be close by and always on hand compared to my family plus houses etc are better/cheaper im coming round to the idea slowly but surely :) we think we're going to wait till after DDs birthday in the new year as with the boy arriving then xmas a house can wait a few months tho theres still the wedding to sort out im frazzled!!

my tums been like that on and off for days tho mainly when im walking i get god awful period like pains at the underside of my bump i blame it on my waddling Grin

feel rough as a dog today had toothache all night paracetamol not working then at 8 i barfed up what paracetamol i'd taken had toast at ten and just barfed that up im a crying painful really gross mess :( worried about the bab with no reason other than i feel guilty when im spewing because he moves around and i feel sorry on him the poor mite :(:(

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 04/07/2011 11:25

probably really stupid question?!

you know you're entitled to time off work for ante-natal classes does any1 know if this extends to "aquanatal classes" as well?

i suspect it doesn't but just wondering.

apples82 · 04/07/2011 11:33

edwardofericcantdecide could you not cheekily just tell work you're going for an antenatal class, even if it is actually aquanatal? It is still a natal class Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 04/07/2011 12:08
Grin i have considered this but bit scared in case i got caught lol
