Happy birthday edward!

Really sorry to hear about your SPD nightmare, elgoldenflower but glad it's being taken care of. Let us know how you get on.

BabCNesbitt · 03/06/2011 10:46

Happy birthday EdwardorEric - enjoy the rare sunshine! :)

Elgoldenflower, that's a pisser about the SPD :( Is there anything else that can be done for it, apart from physio? I'm guessing paracetamol will barely scratch it...

Happymummytobe, re. having to buy online: I went into M&S at Marble Arch the other evening and the woman there told me that their maternity range is no longer available in stores anywhere, since apparently management in their wisdom reckoned that it wasn't profitable. Angry She said I was the third woman that day to have asked her that. Hmm

BabCNesbitt · 03/06/2011 10:47

Ugh - sorry about the rash of smileys! (And yes, I'm having to restrain myself from inserting a blushing face... )

monkeybubbles · 03/06/2011 11:26

happy birthday edwardorericcan'tdecide

it's crazy that no shops seem to carry maternity clothes anymore. i do love shopping online, but it's difficult when i realise that i need something straight away and can't have it!

sounds like lots of us have our 20 week scan on tuesday :) I'll be 21+5, so it feels like ages since the last scan! it will be so nice to see the LO although i'm doubting much co-operation as this one's very active!!!

Here is a weight gain calculator for 22 weeks I am right in the middle of normal weight gain levels, it also shows the reccommened amount of weight gain week by week if anyone is worried here

bilblio · 03/06/2011 13:40

I can't decide whether to get on the scales or not. This morning I've put on some maternity shorts which I had last time. They were too small for me then though. Two years later I was wearing them on holiday and it was seeing the photos afterwards, and knowing I hadn't the energy to run after DD that prompted me to lose weight. I kept that photo in my purse to stop any chocolate cravings.
Thankfully they are now a bit big still and I have an excuse for wearing them this time :o

I have a free day! DD has been ill with D&V but she's feeling a bit better and has gone to stay with MIL so I'm off out into the garden to do some much needed weeded.

Has anyone taken older children to their scan appointments? I've rearranged my scan for next Thursday but I've not asked my parents yet whether they're available for babysitting duties and my MIL will be away. So we may have to take DD... on one hand I'd like to, she'd love it, but she might get bored with the waiting.... and what if there's a problem?? Confused

Newmom2b · 03/06/2011 16:39

Hi all, posted on here a while back... glad to hear things are going well with everybody. I have my 20 week scan on Monday when I will be 21+1. Am sooo excited to find out the sex and more importantly know that everything is ok. This is my first and I wondered how much movement people are feeling? I have felt something 'popping' every day now for about 2 weeks... (ish). Yesterday I felt some strong kicks even from feeling my tummy on the outside but today its gone quiet again :-( Anybody else have these days early on? Sorry for my long post! xx

superjobeespecs · 03/06/2011 18:06

im taking my 6 year old she cant wait to see her baby bro or sis :) my mums on holiday then and my best mates coming into my scan as hubby to be will be working away :( and th ma in law lives down south lol

about the moving i felt DD moving at 13 weeks just like a wee fairy bumblin about inside the bottom of my tum, this time from about 11 weeks i'm lucky as i know many ppl dont feel till later or realise what they felt was the baby my bezzy didnt notice till he was 22 weeks and even then its cos i went no thats the baby lol she thought she was making a poo Grin still the funniest thing she's ever said to me lol anyhoo this wee bum likes it when i lie on my back and pet it the baby not my actual bum lol and it also likes ... pavarotti, the time warp and play that funky music white boy!! music iv noticed is the best way to get it going lol hopethis helps a wee bit x

SamMarie · 03/06/2011 18:35

So far only put on 8 pounds, up until 3 weeks ago it was 4 pounds, but then had a two week all inclusive holiday! Although two days ago I didn?t seem to have much of a belly, got up this morning and I seem to have exploded over night, did this happen to anyone else??

SamMarie · 03/06/2011 18:36

And I've been starving for the last two days

SamMarie · 03/06/2011 18:37

Sorry, I mean starving hungry, not that I'm starving myself

cupofteaplease · 03/06/2011 19:40

Hi all.

I've had the busiest week, I'm completely exhausted! I took my 2 dc to Disneyland Paris for 5 days on the Eurostar. I never expected the journey to be as hellish as it was. I really struggled with all the luggage and the buggy, lugging it all around and getting it on and off the trains (we had to change at Lille and twice in England). It was hard getting everything up the stairs on the double decker trains and literally NOONE helped at all- probably because I just look fat, not pregnant yet! Horrible experience, and I was so worried I'd hurt the baby somehowSad. Disney was fairly busy, but we've been plenty of times before, so I knew what to expect there!

I had lost 3kg since falling pregnant (I had a BMI of 26 to start with, so I decided to eat a better diet, and exercise at least twice a week), but after a stay in Disney, I'm sure I've put it all back on and more! I'll brave the scales tomorrow morning...

Had our scan this morning (I'm 21 weeks now), and the sonographer took ages, I had a feeling something wasn't quite right... luckily, she just said that she had picked up that baby has talipes (club foot) on her right foot. We were sent straight up to the antenatal unit where a senior midwife spoke to us, and referred us to the neonatal pysiotherapist who will be in touch to talk us through what we will need to do to help baby.

Dd2 has her birthday party on Sunday, then all the family are coming over for tea, so it's going to be a hectic weekend ahead.

Back to work on Monday. It's going to be a hectic 7 week term, I need another holiday now I think!!

Hope all is well for other people.

Confused2011 · 03/06/2011 21:19

SamMarie my bump did that too! It actually went down a couple of weeks ago, but is now back with a vengance and I can't hide from anyone that I'm PG. Still, noone has yet given up a seat for me on the bus or tube, even in this hot weather!!!!!

Anyone else got swollen legs? I know it's normal in pregnancy, but it's one of those things I just though woudn't happen to me! Definitely not a blood clot as I'm on injections to prevent them.

superjobeespecs · 03/06/2011 22:50

i think id faint if someone offered me a seat here!! im getting bad dizzy spells as im waiting on getting iron tablets and with this sudden heatwave its worse but still not 1 bugger has offered me a seat i hate public transport and once mini bum is born i am learning to drive!! i will be an evil vengeful driver and attack buses and their passengers lol had a hectic morning today on like 5 diff buses and not 1 seat so im on edge wi this lol be all calm by tomorrow im sure :)

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 03/06/2011 23:26

Thanks every1 for the lovely messages.
Had a fab day weather was lovely and warm, and found out today that bump is pink :-) she'll be named mhairi I'm so excited.

LittlePebble · 04/06/2011 06:11

Happy birthday Edward hope you have a lovely day. I have an unexpected day off so going to the beach to dare showing my podge to the world...

BB3 · 04/06/2011 10:56

Confused yep really bad like big long lumps of lard after a day at work (that's a beautiful image I know Grin!). Elevation seems not to help so am trying freezing cold water from next week to see how I get on (although will be on holiday so unlikely to be as bad I hope!)

super I have images of you in a kind of only fools and horses three wheeler going after the buses!

off shopping today for last minute holiday bits, fly tomorrow night - can't wait for the break but part of me (the mean part) wishes it was a proper holiday and not about visiting the in-laws! It will be fine when I am there!

Edward yay for your pink little bean, how do your pronounce that name?

Confused2011 · 04/06/2011 13:23

EdwardorEric congrats on a pink bump! Are you going to change your name now...?

superjobeespecs · 04/06/2011 16:49

superjobeespecs · 04/06/2011 16:53
