HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Its so hard having morning sickness and working. With my last PG i was being sick 6 times a day and trying to learn a new job. It was so hard.

This time i'm at home. The sickness is worse but at least i can go to the loo when i want and not distured anyone else Grin

morning all - wow things have been busy over the weekend! Congrats to all the BFP's and welcome all the newbies.

Been away for the weekend which was nice and meant it took my mind off obsessing about being pregnant. We were at DH parents but didn't tell them yet - easy with them as they don't drink (and rarely offer us drinks) so there was no covering up why I wasn't drinking needed. Sister and BiL are coming to stay this weekend though and she definitely will be suspicious so have to decide what to do - DH doesn't want to tell yet (we had a missed MC discovered at 12wk scan before having DD and he is now warey of telling until 12wk scan is done) but I want to shout it from the rooftops!

Booking in appointment with midwife now set for 5th May when I will be 9 weeks. No doctors appointment needed this time - already different to the first time.

Bit confused today as the Clearblue digi test I was saving to do when I knew I was defo pregnant, I did this morning and got a "Pregnant 3+" - but it definitely shouldn't be 3+ until after at least Friday! I definitely know when I ovulated, and the early tests were faint as you'd expect, so it is like the HcG has ramped up much quicker than the CBD would normally expect. Can't see any explaination for this on CB website - any ideas?

Morning sickness here too!! I'm doing what I did with DS and eating eating eating. Protein works best - cheese, hummus, eggs. Really off sweet stuff :(

ThePippy · 04/04/2011 12:16

Shock I think my DH would pass out at the scan if that is true. Thankfully I will be lying down as I think I would too!

Iggly · 04/04/2011 12:17

Ooooo twins, yes could be Pippy!!!!

ThePippy · 04/04/2011 12:17

Iggly that is odd, with DD I was completely off meat but couldn't get enough carbs including sweet stuff, which I like normally but don't go overboard with. A few nausea moment so far, but they may have been hunger!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 04/04/2011 12:18

HI everyone welcome all newbies and congrats!!

Pippy oh my god maybe twins? how awesome....

we've told quite a few people Blush my local mums (I can't not tell them, if this baby doesn't stick I'll want their support), DH's mum, my mum, dad and brother and one of my fellow directors of my theatre company. Oh, and two friends. It's taking everything not to tell everyone when I see them!

Scan letter has come through and it's on 16th May so I'll have to tell my director I'm assisting to explain why I won't be in rehearsals that afternoon, but he'll understand.

The nausea started yesterday and was rubbish this morning. Just ahd a stodgy lunch and feeling better. Hope I end up similar to last time, which was just nausea 9 weeks - 14 weeks which isn't too bad (throwing up 6 times a day??? Christ snowdrop!), though it has started a lot earlier this time, and I'm so so tired, and have constant back ache which wakes me up in the night.....but of course the second I realise it's subsided for 5mins I worry!

CarolineLou · 04/04/2011 12:39

Hello everyone :) I'm sure December 3rd :) xx

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 12:42

Pippy, my MW said that the test is how far you are along but the MWs and Drs add 2 weeks on (12-14 days ovulation blah blah blah) so in weeks you're always 2 weeks further along than you actually are, if that makes sense.

So if you're 3 weeks, you'll be told you're 5 weeks by your MW etc.

I don't know why they can't just adopt a simple system.

Iggly · 04/04/2011 12:48

Have just bought a massive tub of hummus for lunch (with pitta!). Mmmmmmm

ThePippy · 04/04/2011 12:48

Hi Lady, yes the clearblue number is how many weeks you are from ovulation/conception, so a 3+ result on CBdigi would be 5+ weeks pregnant in gestation terms. However I am only 4+3 genstation from my reckoning (given I know exactly when I ov'ed thanks to positive OPKs/EWCM/temp rise on charts) so I should only be getting "Pregnant 2-3" for another 4 days. Probably means nothing and best to not think about it until the scan I think.

LadyOfTheManor · 04/04/2011 13:32

Ha! Iggly that's what I ate on Friday and Saturday and Sunday for lunch!

MrsWitcher · 04/04/2011 13:47

Hi Ladies, can I join you?
DD is 1st December I think although another site said 30th Nov and then the Dr said 2nd Dec. Anyway, I'm 5+3 according to LMP.

This is my 4th and was a little unexpected to say the least. I already have 1 DS and 2 DDs. I'm always really sick so not looking forward to the next few weeks. Still getting my head aroung the idea of having 4 children as it took us a while to decide whether to go for no.3 and I'm not the stereotypical, easygoing, jolly type of mother who usually has 4-if that makes sense. I'm going to have to loosen up, I think! Grin

I haven't read the thread yet so off to do that now! Smile

BeeMyBaby · 04/04/2011 14:33

Snowdrop I'm like you with the PCOS, will have to wait till the 12wk scan to find out the actual DD - last time my guess was 2 weeks out.

I've told my mother (last time I didn't tell her until 16weeks and she was very hurt- I was hurt that she kept trying to pursuade me to join weightwatchers up to that point), and she told my father, brother and his gf, but I think thats going to be all who get to know until at least the 12wk scan, definitely not telling anyone outside the family.

moonchaser · 04/04/2011 14:53

Another one joining the thread. Got a (strong and instant) BFP over a week ago but only one day after my period was due Confused had already been having bouts of morning sickness and tiredness hence testing. This is going to be my 4th DC already have 2 DS and 1 DD but first with DP. EDD is 2nd December from my dates and midwife booking in app is 28th April.

MrsWitcher, I know how you feel, am already finding the early weeks harder then with the previous DC doesnt help I am constantly shattered and in bed when the kids are! No 4 was a surprise to say the last never thought I would have four children and am also not stereotypical earth mother type Grin

moonchaser · 04/04/2011 14:55

*to say the least - not last. Although is def my last dc too! Grin

Broody1976 · 04/04/2011 14:56

I'd like to join this thread too please :) I'm 4 weeks and 4 days gone going off my last period date.

Have appt with Dr tomorrow and am a little aprehensive about it.

Anyone know what will happen?

Broody1976 · 04/04/2011 14:57

I should add that when I do the EDD calculator, it says I am due on 9th December.

whatsoever · 04/04/2011 15:03

Knock knock, room for another?

I've had my first midwife appointment today and her little cardboard date guesser thing tells me I am due on 2 December (the day in between my mum's and my MIL's brithdays!) The online calculator told me 4 December, so pretty close.

Total newby as this is my first pregnancy and I am new to mumsnet so desperately trying to learn/guess all the acronyms ;-)

ThePippy · 04/04/2011 15:06

Hi Broody and congrats.

Doctor will probably just give you some advise on what you can and can't eat, confirm your EDD, then will book you in with the midwife or ask you to do that with your doctors reception. The midwife will be a few weeks later when they will take a load of bloods, talk to you about birth options etc and give you a folder full of useful info plus your pregancy notes that you then will carry around to all appointments until you give birth.

Congrats also to Moon and Witcher. This Christmas is going to have lots of little bundles I think :-)

Iggly · 04/04/2011 15:09

Welcome welcome!

Broody my first doc appointment was disappointing. I could barely get the words "I'm pregnant" out and the GP wanted to know if it was planned! I guess he had to check but still! I just filled in some forms, give some urine and that was it until my 12 week scan and midwife appointment.

whatsoever there's an acronym page at the top ofthe screen somewhere which should help. May you come to love MN as much I do Grin

Broody1976 · 04/04/2011 15:25

Thanks Pippy, Thanks Iggly :)

I'm glad I told my OH not to take time off to come with me now.

MrsWitcher · 04/04/2011 15:42

The Dr appointment is a bit of a non-event tbh. They just check you're taking FA and book you in with the MW. They don't even ask for a sample to double check! First time, that meant that by the 12wk scan, I was convinced they were going to laugh and say there was nothing in there! Grin
Glad I'm not the only 4th timer! I'm terrified this time and I'll be 40 by the time baby arrives so extra worries this time.
