Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Hi everyone, mind if I join you? I found out I was pregnant three days ago, and according to the calculator I think I may be due on Christmas day! I'm not 100% sure though.

It was a bit of a surprise to be honest, as must have conceived pretty much as soon as we started trying (incredibly lucky I know, and I'm v grateful). DS will be three on Monday and we hoped for around a four year gap, so all being well things should work out as we wanted. I did have a miscarriage before I had DS though, so not counting my chickens.

It feels quite strange this time round as not had any symptoms other than the morning after i conceived. Last time I had several fairly early on and some throughout the whole pregnancy. not that I'm complaining - I could do without 18 weeks of morning sickness!

Anyway, I haven't read through the whole thread (600+ posts is too much I'm afraid!) but I hope everyone else is doing well and looking forward to the rest if the year.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 19:43

Welcome Silver I found out 3 days ago and am due boxing day. My DD has just turned 6 so was very ready for no 2 and like yourself incredibly lucky to get pregnant on first try.

Have you got any symptoms? Are you 4wks exactly today?

xstitch · 16/04/2011 20:02

Evening ladies I have had a very long day at work. 6 weeks today, next target 8 weeks. Been quite emotional today and some nausea yet concerned I don't have 'enough' symptoms. Ended up with a colleague a MW trying to calm me down, I mean only 6 weeks IYSWIM.

Got so annoyed with boss, one of the Drs was eating a roll sausage and potato scone and brown sauce. I was very greasy and smelly, so I was nibbling on munchies in the office trying to ward off it turning my stomach and I got into trouble for having food. Got so annoyed because he didn't get told off. I then had to resort to frequent trips to the loo to either compose myself or because of the constant need to pee and got told off for that too. Ended up asking if they would just rather I called in sick. Angry.

Also found out there is a local measles outbreak so something else for me to worry about even though I have immunity IYSWIM.

I know what you mean strawberries we went to one last week and my SIL was laughing at me avoiding the lambs she had never heard of the abortifacient Confused. Maybe its just I was brought up in the middle of a farming community and she is a city girl.

Glad you got it in writing blue we told you didn't we Grin

They made you wait 2 more weeks jan that's cruel' I so wish it was time for my scan yet I am terrified of it IYKWIM. I want to know everything is OK yet scared it won't be.

silver28 · 16/04/2011 21:35

Hi darciesmum, I'm not certain of the dates as never keep track of my period, but think last cycle may have started 16 march, pretty sure i conceived either 1 or 3 April, so I calculated due date as 25 dec. Was 10 days late with DS though.

Have you been to see your gp yet? Last time I went asap but not thought about going yet. I'll prob call for an appointment next week. Am I right in thinking that I'll have to wait til the 12 week scan to find out due date properly? I can't remember much from three years ago (think DS has addled my brain!).

Mizza76 · 16/04/2011 22:47

Hmmmm.... had absolutely no pregnancy symptoms today at all, although boobs have ached since practically day I conceived. Has this happened to anyone else? Mild panic attack.... I'm around 5 weeks.

xstitch · 16/04/2011 23:08

I'm constantly worrying about not enough symptoms MIzza I am 6 weeks.

ChinngisKhan · 17/04/2011 05:06

Wow this thread moves so quickly!

My symptoms have calmed down a lot in the past week, I am trying not to worry as it seems quite common.

xstitch that sounds very unfair of your boss - I would have been very upset about that.

Am a bit envious of those with bright yellow wee by the way - it sounds like fun! May have to change vitamins...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/04/2011 07:00

Silver I've booked an appr weds afternoon. Didn't find out I was pregnant with DD till I was 16wks so want everything to go to plan this time. The issue now will be letting me give birth in the birthing centre and not the main hospital due to my back problems.
DPs been so sweet since we found out, went to get my apple juice as I'd run out and am really craving it.

Strawbs sounds rather nasty last time, hopefully this time will be alot easier. I gave birth in the birthing centre at the hospital last time, but want to go to a different centre this time. I had a wonderful labour last time 10hrs no pain relief and DD was born in her membranes (waters) they had to peel them off her head lol.

Still no sickness which is good so far.

So what parts of the country do we all live in?
We live in Bedhampton, just outside Portsmouth.

Oh no thunderbolt , bedbugs sound awful.

I have no practical advice, just wanted to commiserate - I got eaten alive by them on holiday, and it was miserable.

Is there anyone you could go and stay with for a while so the pest guys can do their thing?

sevendwarves · 17/04/2011 09:37

thunderbolt you can get foggers or spray either on eBay or from your local petshop that kill bugs that your DP could do himself, it takes a couple of hours and would be a lot cheaper (our house had fleas when we bought it!).

Got my first proper symptom today, I'm exhausted and didn't get up until nearly 9 Blush. I've had a backache since just after conception but I'm not sure if it's related or not.

LadyOfTheManor · 17/04/2011 10:03

I am in South West Wales (Pembrokeshire) so probably 10 million miles from everyone else.

xstitch · 17/04/2011 11:15

I have just had a really long lie seven I was really tired last night.

I'm in Scotland, anyone else?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/04/2011 12:30

Thunder That sounds awful hope you can get it sorted soon.

Strawbs where abouts in West Sussex?

sevendwarves · 17/04/2011 12:37

I'm on the Suffolk coast (Southwold) by the way.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/04/2011 13:28

Weather is lovely here. Currently watching the London Marathon trying to spot our friend who is running today.

CuttlefishDramas · 17/04/2011 14:03

LadyOfTheManor I'm glad you got something for the sickness, and that it wasn't the mussels after all - food poisoning would be horrible right now!

ThunderboltKid, jomouse and ThunderboltKid Congrats on your scans! I can't wait for my first look. How did you get a scan so quickly? I haven't even had first contact with midwife yet.

BlueCrane Sorry about your dr experience. I can't believe how jaded some people seem. Do think you should complain, because otherwise, how do they know to improve their bedside manner? I'm feeling a lot better this morning thank you. Funny how it feels more real once you've read it in black and white isn't it!

jan9ne and xsstich I've started wearing pantyliners daily now Blush, and yes, I'm still constantly knicker checking! And congrats on the marriage xstich! Hope your work are being a bit more reasonable now.

Poulette I'm 26 :)

Darciesmum My partner is also very proud of his "super sperm"!

Mizza76 I am also getting really vivid dreams! It's the vivid nightmares I could do without...

Harder I'm sorry about your news, I hope you get some better news at the next scan.

sevendwarves your BIL was out of order, I'm surprised you managed to refrain to telling him so!

plupedantic that's a good point about nhs direct, will remember that next time I have a panic. Will be nice to have that backup.

Oooh! So that's why my wee is so yellow! I've been desperately downing copious amounts of water thinking i'm dehydated, but it all makes sense now! Thanks StrawberriesAndScream.

I'm now refusing to change the cat litter as am ultra paranoid. Can you ask to be tested on the nhs for tox immunity?

Phew that was long... Sorry, I was just catching up!!
