HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

cuttlefish i had some faint pink discharge on monday eve. Freaked me out and had a terrible night, up and down, weeing, wiping and checking! Fortunately (touch wood) it stopped and have had nothing since. I did mention it to the gp on wednesday but he was unfazed and said bright red bleeding, pain etc go to A&E.

i am pretty jumpy - 5th pg, one dd...

On a lighter note, went out with hubby tonight which was lovely. I am not a big eater at all but i ate a whole pizza and an hour later i could have happily murdered a curry. I didn't though i hasten to add. Made that mistake the first time round! Couldn't get my old jeans past my knees until dd was 18 months old!

CuttlefishDramas · 16/04/2011 07:08

Thanks Jan9ne. Had loads of cramping last night, but still no more blood.

Feel sorry for my partner, he's not allowed anywhere near me at the moment. My friend is pregnant too, and she's been told by her doctor not to have sex for the first 8 weeks! Anyone else been told that?

I was reading how we're no longer supposed to "eat for two" until the last trimester... How disappointing!

Hope nobody is feeling to sick this morning.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 07:09

jan9ne well done on your will power last night. I'm at the hungry but not sure what I want stage!

BlueCrane · 16/04/2011 07:09

Morning all... cuttlefish how are you feeling this morning?

I peed on a digi test this morning and it came up saying 'pregnant' so am finally feeling it sinking in...and DH too though think he's still in a state of shock...even though we've been trying since Christmas this is the first time I've ever been pg so all very new to us! plu the friends DVDs idea sounds like a good one! Might go on my birthday or Christmas list! Smile

Been awake since 4:30am though...such a small ball of cells causing havoc with my sleep already!!

BeeMyBaby · 16/04/2011 07:09

Another bleeding question, sorry of TMI - I had some bleeding last night (9pm), tiny bit dripped on pants and was bright red, since then its just pinky on a tissue, and have slight cramping I think, though could be hunger. Think I am about 7-8 weeks. I read on the internet that it is normal to have a little bleeding at 7 weeks, but how much is a little? Should I make a dr's appointment next week do you think? I will obviously keep checking today to see if bleeding gets worse.

BlueCrane · 16/04/2011 07:10

ooh darcies I know what you mean with the hunger but don' know what I want to eat thing...I'm never indecisive or fussy about food... until now

Cherrypi · 16/04/2011 07:32

Morning everyone. BeeMyBaby sounds normal to me but if it's worrying I'd talk to doctor/midwife just to put your mind at rest. Told my mum last night. Her reaction was very understated. Almost "that's nice dear I've got to go water the plants now". Dad was speechless. Anyone else get that reaction?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 07:36

Bluecrane totally understand the waking early - although not as early in morning like you.

Bee I'd get checked by your GP if it persists.

The hungry thing is bizarre feel hungry but at the same time feel nauseous :(

Going to see my DD in her stage school play later am looking forward to it

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 07:38

We haven't told yet so can't say. Wait till it sinks in for their reaction Cherry

BlueCrane · 16/04/2011 07:40

cherry we haven't told anyone yet either but I know friends have had all range of reactions from family and for some it didn't seem to sink in until baby had actually arrived!

Cherrypi · 16/04/2011 07:41

Yeah she's normally like this with most news. I'm sure she'll be happy next week. She's also a midwife so she was very clinical about it.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 07:46

cherry will your mum be there at delivery?

Cherrypi · 16/04/2011 07:54

Hmm probably not. I think I would find it more stressful.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 08:01

See your point. I'll be having mine with me again she was brilliant last time.

sevendwarves · 16/04/2011 09:15

Blue glad you got a 'pregnant', does it feel more real now?

I'm really annoyed with my BIL. We told most of our families yesterday. I'm a carrier of muscular dystrophy (which DS has) and there is a risk I could pass it on to the baby. We looked into PGD with IVF after we had DS but I didn't like the invasiveness of the procedure. Having another baby wasn't a decision we took lightly, we're not stupid and it's taken 2 years to decide that we want more children and it's a risk we're willing to take. Anyway the first thing BIL said was "I assume it's an accident?"

Am I being oversensitive or is that an unnecessary reaction? I've told DH that if a similar reaction comes from anyone outside of the family they will be politely told it's none of their bloody business. I understand that some people may not agree with our decision but surely they should be supportive or keep quiet.

Jan9ne · 16/04/2011 09:35

sevendwarves your BIL is bloody rude. It's weird, once you're pg some people think they have the authority to say whatever they like.

People's can be weird. When i told my brother i was pg with dd he looked totally gutted, like he'd been punched in the face. Him and my SIL were very weird with dd until they had their old child.

Bee - sorry - don't want to sound like some kind of expert on bleeding but what with 2m/c and an ectopic i have a bit of experience. With DD i had a 'breakthrough bleed' (meaning it was around the time i would have had my af) at 8 weeks. It was red and i passed a small clot. I went to A&E, they examined my cervix, was closed and was booked in for a scan 2 weeks (!!!!) later - all was fine.

Any pain/soaking pads go to A&E. Also, this sounds a bit airy-fairy but trust your instinct. I knew something was very wrong way before i knew i had an ectopic and even before bleeding and pain. Having researched it, this is quite common. i just had a bad feeling. I even told my gp who dismissed it (quite understandably at that point) as nothing. I think our bodies are quite good at telling us if something is wrong.

I feel sicky this morning. Bad headache. DH has this really lovely aftershave but this morning upon smelling it i almost chucked. It was so overpowering!

sevendwarves · 16/04/2011 09:46

Thanks jan9ne, tbh I was expecting a few reactions like that but from the insensitive idiots DH serves in the pub not family members.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 09:54

Kinda dreading telling the families. Although know my dad will be well chuffed :)

plupedantic · 16/04/2011 11:01

Good morning ,all. Have the sleeplessness here, too!

I was just thinking: with any cramps and discharge, it's always worth a call to NHS Direct before scrambling to A&E (unless pain is acute or there is obviously blood). That way, you can get information almost immediately, out of hours, and don't have to leave home. If you think you may want to go to A&E, get them to do the ringback on your mobile.

I've used NHS Direct with DS quite a lot, and find it also helps when we get to A&E/when I confront a gatekeeper GPs' surgery receptionist, if I can say I've already spoken to NHS Direct, and they suggested I come in. It makes them feel as though you've been pre-screened, and your claim to be seen is taken more seriously.

LittleBlueBoat · 16/04/2011 11:12

Hi everyone

i have iching on the inside on my left and its driving me nuts. I have a 2cm cyst on my left ovary and i think it might be that!

I had morning sickness today yay Grin

TheBightyMoosh · 16/04/2011 11:25

Morning all! Hope everyone is ok today.

I woke up this morning to find DD covered in what looks like chicken pox spots - aaaarrgghh! I've spent most of the morning googling and on the phone to NHS direct - obviously I am worried about her, but also worried about the little pip inside me too - but I've had CP before, so luckily we're out of danger. And DD seems fine - bouncing around like a jumping bean - phew!!

Some of my feelings from last time keep flooding back - like the panic every time I go to the bathroom, terrified at what I'll see - and that feeling of disbelief that I am actually pregnant - even though I've done 3 tests now, I won't believe it til i've had the scan.

I'm really Shock at some of the GP stories here - I think GPs forget what a major event getting pregnant is, and the all emotions that come with it. I'm all for complaining about the bad ones, and making sure we get better treatment.

Anyone else with DCs already - how (and when) are you planning to tell them? I think DD will make a great big sis, but I don't think she'll quite understand until I start to show.

plupedantic · 16/04/2011 11:32

Itching on the inside, what "fun"! I had to shout at DS when he got his little fingers up under my ribs and started tickling my stomach from inside! Thankfully, he responded to my admonishment, and desisted.

They interfere with us all the way. I think it was in "Genome" that I learned that the placenta is the representative of the father's interests - forcing open blood vessels to feed the embryo/baby, when the mother's body might perceive it as a parasite. I imagine that is why there is so much less risk of miscarriage after the placenta is formed (about 12 weeks).

DarciesmumandBump2 · 16/04/2011 11:57

Been to see my DD in her stage school play and she was brilliant - proud mummy :) both Grandparents and my Sis was there, very hard to stop going to the loo and yawning!

Jan9ne · 16/04/2011 12:53
