HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

aww tad envious i'm not at the tight jeans stage yet!

Cherrypi · 15/04/2011 17:09

It's probably just doughnut weight ;-)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 17:13

donuts mmmm :)

xstitch · 15/04/2011 17:29

Don't be darcie, that will come quick enough. I remember feeling that way the first time though. Lidl are selling 'bump' bands next week to allow you to wear your old tops for longer.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 17:33

what are 'bump bands'?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 17:34

when roughly will the tightness come do you think?

LadyOfTheManor · 15/04/2011 17:37

Bump bands are 2 things;

  1. smaller ones, a bit wider than belts to go under your bump for weight support.

  2. large pieces of material that go over your bump so when your jeans are too low and your tops are too high you are not exposing your bump-also ideal when you're breastfeeding to not expose too much flesh. Well worth investing in one imo. You can get them as cheap as £4 on Ebay or Mothercare do them for a rip off price of £15,

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 17:40

Hmm may think about investing in one!

xstitch · 15/04/2011 17:40

Varies a lot. With dd I was 11+3 and my boss (who knew) was asking me when I was telling people because I had a definite looking bump. a colleague who was pregnant at the same time was only feeling her clothes a little tight at 29 weeks and gave birth 3 days later. Its very hard to predict however you uterus starts to appear above your pelvis at approximately 12 weeks before that some women get a lot of bloating and water retention.

Bump bands are lycra bands you can wear round your waist are for when your tops start to look a bit short due to the expanding bump, not really the height of fashion but cheaper than most maternity clothes as extras.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 17:41

this is my 2nd pregnancy but my first one wasn't that straight forward!

xstitch · 15/04/2011 17:43

the Lidl ones

xstitch · 15/04/2011 17:44

This is my 4th pregnancy darcie Blush, but I only have dd hence the jumpiness.

LadyOfTheManor · 15/04/2011 17:44

Xstitch Hopefully this pregnancy will be a lucky one :)
I've had a chemical pregnancy between DD and this one.

Lady Cyclizine is good stuff :) enjoy your chicken fried rice.

I feel funny things in what feels like my uterus however, prob just wind lol.

DP has ordered us a chinese takeaway for dinner Grin and showed him the test from this morning to prove not a fluke lol.

xstitch · 15/04/2011 18:38

I am kind of banking on this one working to even up my stats to closer to average darcie 1 in 4 pregnancies succeeding is so not the right way round.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 18:56

agree. lots of sticky dust for you :)

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 15/04/2011 19:06

christ, a lot of catching up to do

harder hope you're ok and the next 12 days go quickly, rest as much as you can and fingers crossed

Glad the early scans have otherwise gone well and adalle's bloods too

Congrats on getting married xstitch! My friend was 7months pregnant with her 2nd last July at her wedding and looked AMAZING!! Her dress was just perfect, was actually a bit jealous of her!

I'm another who had a brilliant labour experience (she says now clearly tempting fate with this one) so I'll be full of positive stories come November....almost pain relief free homebirth, no tears (though a small graze), 12 hours start to finish but established labour 3.5hours, second stage 6mins. Waters popped (once!) handily while I was sat on the toilet, all in hindsight pretty good - it can happen!!

My clothes are definately uncomfortable (though I needed to loose a few pounds before getting BFP), my mum is getting my bag of pregnancy clothes out of her loft for me already!

After a horrendous day yesterday feeling like I was going to vomit every second and my emotions going crazeeeee, today I may as well not have been pregnant, argh! Even my boobs aren't as sore. Trying not to store anything by it.

DH is going to America the 1st 3 weeks in May, missing both my birthday and our nuchal scan. One of my mum friends has offered to come with me to the scan, I really don't want to be on my own after a succession of friends last year having bad news at their scans. Am gutted DH won't be there but he's reassured me if anything is not totally normal and fine he'll get the company to fly him back immediately.

Off to source travel insurance for a much needed trip to France next week

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 19:15

Gwmh Shame your DH is in America but hopefully everything will be alright.

I'll need to sort travel insurance for our trip to Ibiza in May once i've been to the dr i'll be around 7-8wks then.

DP has gone out for the night, so i'm stuck indoors feeling sooo tired, needing to pee all the time etc. Don't blame him prob wouldn't be much company tonight.

CuttlefishDramas · 15/04/2011 20:35

Had a bleed last night, pinky/red when i wiped once but that was it.

Have spent today frantically knicker checking but no further bleeds.

Please someone reassure me that it could be implantation/cervical erosion. I guess there's no point peeing on a stick, because the hormones would still be present?

:(

sevendwarves · 15/04/2011 20:41

cuttlefish doesn't sound like anything too major but would be worth mentioning to your mw when you have your booking in appointment (if you haven't already).

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/04/2011 20:59

Cuttlefish maybe monitor and mention it to your GP or mw sounds like nothing to serious.

Sleepy and bored as DP gone out and DD staying at nannies tonight x

CuttlefishDramas · 15/04/2011 21:00

Thank you Sevendwarves, just feel so helpless. Hopefully I'll hear from the midwife soon, and i can tell them straightaway.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok, this thread moves on so quickly

CuttlefishDramas · 15/04/2011 21:01

Sorry, thank you as well Darciesmum.

plupedantic · 15/04/2011 21:22

Hi, all. Sorry I've been quiet today. Either our modem has packed in, or TalkTalk are rationing access to t'internet during the day (bastards - I know they do this between 7pm and 11pm).

HardertoKidnap, that's a terrible thing to be wondering about for so long. Can you manage to get out to the cinema or get a DVD box-set to become engrossed in, to help the time pass and give you something to talk and think about? Or find a light-hearted thread in MN chat to engage you.

With regard to box sets, I thoroughly recommend to all first timers to get soe television series on DVD for the early days. Something like Friends, with very short episodes (and very long running) would be ideal. Smile
