HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Vix1980 I have either burning hot feet or ice blocks at the end of my legs. No nausea yet though, sorry to hear you are feeling rough.

Thunderbolt I love that you have names. I have just got a picture in my mind of the new nursery bedroom and DH is avidly googling cars that can fit 3 car seats across the back.

I can't possibly wait until the end of May to tell people! Am going to tell my parents when we are all on holiday next week and tell the outlaws when we see them the week after. Not sure how they are going to react, delighted I hope but they might think we are mad given the boys are quite full on Hmm. We also have 2 weekends away with friends, we don't really want to tell people outside the family but it's going to be so obvious as I am usually first in line with the post-kids-bedtime G&Ts! (Sorry if the very mention has triggered queasiness in any of you Wink)

FleeBee · 07/04/2011 11:12

UntamedShrew - let me have your car suggestions! DH currently has a golf so hoping that will fit 3 car seats, will have almost 4 yo, 2yo and newborn so it's a lot of carseats!

Regarding the G&T can you just drink the tonic with a slice of lemon and no-one will be any wiser? As long as you always make the drink yourself!!!!

UntamedShrew · 07/04/2011 11:26

Good point will make DH be the barman this weekend. When we found out I was pregnant last time we went off to the Big Chill with a load of friends. He used to go to the bar and buy 2 pints, I'd hold one but he'd drink both. You can imagine how drunk he was.

Will ask him about cars for you, once he has done some proper homework. He started off with good intentions but after 15 minutes I saw a few 2 seaters and maseratis on the screen, bless him it will be about 45 years before we can even afford to park next to one but he can dream.

I know my friend in Geneva said that there were only 3 cars that could fit 3 car seats across the back but surely it's more than that? It doesn't sound good for the Golf if not Confused. Am keen to avoid a people carrier, I'm not ready for that!

UntamedShrew · 07/04/2011 11:27

Toomuch just saw your message, how grim. Hope you are bearing up ok, that does not sound like what you need.

Iggly · 07/04/2011 13:21

Hi everyone, things are moving fast! I can't keep up with the thread!
It's such a lovely day out isn't it :) I hope you're enjoying the sunshine. I'm at work but have been out at lunch time which was nice. Bought a baby dress for a friend who's just had a girl. Got my fingers itching to buy baby clothes Grin
I'm having horrible sickness - not just morning but noon and night too! Everytime I wake in the night, I feel sick. I haven't worked out the best way to keep it at bay as eating isn't really working. Bums.

UntamedShrew · 07/04/2011 14:10

After my super sickness last time round, here's a list of what I tried and how well it worked, if you're looking for cures. I hope some of this works for those of you being / feeling sick, it is so awful and really spoils it. Or at least that this saves you some money, most things are a bit of a con. Here you go.

Travel sickness bands - 0/10
Ginger sweets - 0/10 (put me off ginger for life!)
Ginger tea - Deserves a minus score for this
Dry biscuits 2/10
Accupressure thing I downloaded off tinterweb for £5 - 0/10 or minus again
Morning sickness sweets as above - 3/10 effectiveness but could have been any old sucky sweet
Polo mints - 6/10
Sniffing a cut-in-half lemon - 7/10 but you look a twat on the train
Tonic water, sipping - 7.5/10

In the end I just had to accept that I was an extreme case, and listen to the adage that it is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy... and always travelled with sick bags. Really hoping that I don't have a repeat of the sickness this time around and it was just a twins thing.

Vix1980 · 07/04/2011 14:11

Hi, i just made the mistake of going to mamas and papas, omg the prices of everything! but its such lovely stuff, whats worse is its my birthday on sunday and if id told everyone in advance they could of got me vouchers for there, instead im sure to get more smelly sets than i know what to do with! still no sickness though, when should it kick in?

BeeMyBaby · 07/04/2011 14:26

UntamamedShrew - LOL at your minus scores.

I suppose I'm quite lucky in the bady things dept as still have absolutely everything from DD and lots of neutral things. Slightly hoping for a girl again (although everyone likes a change) as then I won't need to buy anything but nappies.

xstitch · 07/04/2011 14:56

Apart from being tired and a heavy sensation I don't have many symptoms. It worries me a bit after 3 MC but I am on 5+5 by my calculations so still early days. I could be thankful for this any day now for all I know.

Snowdropfairy · 07/04/2011 15:27

My symptoms are:

Feeling sick but not being sick yet
Tired
Funny feeling in my tummy - like twinges or pulsing sensation
Feeling bloted

I keep expecting to see my period, its so streange that its not there i haven't got used to it yet.

MrsWitcher · 07/04/2011 16:42

Hi everyone!
Untamedshrew, this is my 4th pg and I've had HG until 20wks with the other 3. In hospital each time, vomitting roughly 12times a day. In my first pg I lost 2stone by week 15. Awful. I am now worrying because I just feel sick this time and am only sick 2 or 3 times a day at the moment.

DH is coming home at 3pm most days though just to cook the kids supper as I really cannot do it.
Oh and polo mints helped me too. A Dr told me it was because it blocked out lots of smells.
Hope everyone is well! Smile

UntamedShrew · 07/04/2011 16:51

MrsW when did your sickness / feeling sick start?

Last time it started around 6.5 weeks for me but I was fine until then. Am eating like crazy just in case this is the last time I can enjoy it for a few months!

Oh and I'm not taking the job with my friend. A bit :( but hard to feel anything but very happy at the moment :)

MrsWitcher · 07/04/2011 16:59

From about 3wks pregnant so about a week after conception. Crazy but true. I just have a huge influx of hormones and they just about kill me. It may be that it's all just a little later starting this time but who knows. I also have a DS and 2 DDs so it can't be that this one is a different sex. Though I was notablyworse when pregnant with the girls but maybe that was just it getting worse with each pregnancy as the consultant said it might.

I'm lucky in that it normally settles down by week 20. However, at the hospital support group I met a woman who had had a termination because by 5mths her body simply couldn't take any more. It can be truly horrific. Sad Some women spent their entire pregnancy hooked up to a drip in hospital.

whatsoever · 07/04/2011 21:15

I have absolutely no symptoms other than sore boobs, slightly tired and a bit more hungry (but could be entirely imagining the last two). I feel seriously lucky after some of the puking horror stories, but I keep reminding myself I am not out of the woods yet and could be slayed at any time Confused

kat2504 · 07/04/2011 21:42

I'm the same, no MS yet, 5+4 so time for that yet! Trying not to worry, I am tired and boobs tender. Is burping a symptom? I am constantly burping and I can't help it!

Sorelip · 07/04/2011 22:33

Around 5 weeks here, with sore boobs and some nausea. And some bloating.

Iggly · 08/04/2011 07:56

Shrew your list made me Grin I agree about tonic water and sweets. Hadn't tried sniffing a lemon and can't stand Ginger after last time! I'm off to the supermarket today so will stock up.

I thought I'd book a docs appointment for next week - been putting it off. However a vein has started going varicose like already - this didn't happen until the third trimester with DS Shock

jomouse · 08/04/2011 09:28

Hey everyone,

Great to have a post for all us Decemberists! I'm due on the 2nd. Ridiculously excited.
Strolled casually into Mama's & Papa's yesterday and then scurried out again in a panic...and not just at the prices. Its too early for all that, and yet it can't come soon enough...
I have a friends gathering this weekend where my lack of wine consumption will be a talking point...a really good friend of mine has just had her 10 week scan and will be there. I am so desperate to tell her as we are only a month or so out.
Anyone else tempted to spill the beans to friends?

Snowdropfairy · 08/04/2011 09:35

Me. I so want to tell my best friend but i want to wait til my 12 week scan before i say anything.

I want to tell the world Grin

MrsWitcher · 08/04/2011 09:38

We have told friends early each time. Probably about 5 or 6wks. I figure that if something goes wrong I'd want to talk about it and have their support rather than feel I have to keep it all to myself. Plus, first time everyone would have wondered why I was in hospital.

I don't mind that other people keep it to themselves until later but it frustrates me when people hear I'm only 6wks and act as if I've done something tacky by telling. Early pregnancy and early MC should not be taboo.

MrsWitcher · 08/04/2011 09:42

You see I think it's fine to wait until the scan if that's what you and your partner want. But from my pov, if the scan wasn't good, I'd just tell everyone that and explain what happened. I understand that some people aren't keen on doing that but not sure why people give me the Hmm look just because we don't wait.

Sorry, rant over. I just had that conversation this morning when I told a school mum and she said, 'oh, you're a bit early to be telling people.'

Snowdropfairy · 08/04/2011 09:50

With my last pg, i bleed at 6 weeks and i had a scam and one part of my uturas was bleeding but luckly i went on to have my 2 yo.

In the hospital i was hyterical because even at 6 weeks i had already mapped out my childs life in my head. What cool things we could do together. I had bonded with my child even at 6 weeks.

If i MC i would be in floods of tears telling everyone who know i was pg as to me i would be graving for my dead child.

My friends do not have children and i dont think they would understand how horrid it is to lose a child.

Thats how i feel. The baby growing inside of my is my child and thats how i feel and think of it.

So i'm not telling anyone but family yet.

I did tell people early last time and i regret it.

Snowdropfairy · 08/04/2011 09:51

I'm over sensative Hmm

MrsWitcher · 08/04/2011 09:58

Oh Snowdrop, it wasn't a criticism! You absolutely must make the decision that's right for you. Absolutely! I also already consider this baby as my 4th child. I'm already at it with the names and thinking about holidays with 4 etc.
But strangely, for me, that's why I need to tell. It helps keep it real and I know if I lost this baby I'd be devastated and I'd just want to talk about it all.
I was just upset at being criticised for telling when for me, that's something we always do despite having suffered early MC before.

xstitch · 08/04/2011 10:43

I can't really decide what to do. DP has told his family and I have told one person at work. I wanted a second opinion if there was a line there or not so showed her a pic of the test Blush.

I had bad reactions from some other colleagues with my first 2 miscarriages and I don't want there nasty comments to make me feel even worse if the worst happens IYSWIM. I do have different colleagues now but it has made me wary yet I am the same as Mrswitcher, made me ill the last time keeping it to myself and suffering in silence because no one had known I was pregnant.
