SHIT!! I just thought my computer was slow

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 17:04

pmsl - thought you were just emphasising your tiredness!!!

TheOriginalTicTac · 02/11/2005 17:06

Hi All,

chloe has notbeen on email today either. I hope she is ok. I am sure we will here from her tomorrow.

I had to have a "conversation" with my boss today about my work load. I am picking more and more up but actually I should be starting to slow down now (finish in 5 or 6 weeks). Plus I have felt really ill for the last few days so I am having to put my foot down, get my priorities right and am now not in for the rest of the week

It comes to something when I am too busy to even post on here

Flame - sounds like your DD is starting to grow into a proper young lady!

3K - We have our cot (finally arrived yesterday) but I think it will be in the packaging for another couple of days yet..really need to finish the painting.
My dad makes beautiful bespoke furniture so it fits into your home, the space you have, rather than the usual..will it fit here...will it fit there...so I have designed my own changing console (numerous drawers) which he is making from Beech for us. I can't wait for it to be finished so we can get that in the room too!!

Frizbe · 02/11/2005 17:15

Lol 3k! mega posts!! Fingers x'd you get your maternity pay and he's not doing this as a diddle.....well done on the Xmas shopping, I still have quite a bit to do....but at least I seem to have my female friends sorted out (all of those 'aunties' who buy for dd!)

Tabs, parents eh, fingers x'd your mother comes around before Feb

FS Phew re the video and wow 8.30, I thought we'd done well with a 7.45 start today

Ixel I'd go with pass the parcel, we did it at dd's 2nd party at the weekend and it was ok, just make sure you have a few adults to assist with the passing! (dd also did it again at nurseries halloween party on monday!)
I'd also recommend sleeping lions, when the music stops all the kids have to lie very still on the floor, 1st to move is out etc..

CuffyJ1, ouch re the cramp, glad dh was on hand to sort it out.

Jasnem, nah, your pregnant and you have hormones, your entitled to do all sorts of weird n wonderful things, including screaming at dh or crying for no reason at all

I woke last night a few times, as I'd managed to get a dead arm, kept sleeping on it, then waking with pins n needles, anyone else getting this?

well dd is happily chasing the cat around the house with her new buggy at the mo!next thing she'll no doubt be trying to put him in there.....

TheOriginalTicTac · 02/11/2005 20:49

Hey Frizbe. I don't know where everyone is tonight...I have been getting pins and needles a fare bit..in my hand really. Not noticed it in the night though.

flamesparrow · 02/11/2005 20:52

I'm here

Getting piles of braxton hicks and wriggles tonight.

DH has gone out, and I am all alone... no tv until 9 becuase he's taping stargate.

B has gone to bed, but she kept wimpering, so she's now in my bed (I think)... she tried to follow me downstairs, and I told her to go back to bed (and she listened!!)... but I could hear mutterings of "mummy bed" so I am assuming she's there - too scared to check right now in case I wake her!!!

TheOriginalTicTac · 02/11/2005 21:05

Aww bless her Flame. Good luck shifting her later then

My kicks have changed a lot. I am not getting as many, they are quite dull but make me feel sick!! I hope this is not what I am going to get for the next 3 months!!

Jasnem · 02/11/2005 21:19

Evening all,

I've lasted all evening without any drama today. I think DP has finally started to make a bit more effort to be extra nice. I even got to use the car this evening to go to my aqua natal class this evening, so I took a quick trip round Tescos as well. It will give me extra time tomorrow, with no bags to carry.
I'm sure the exercise (swimming, not carrying shopping) is helping.

Frizbe - I get pins and needles and dead arms alot at night. When not pregnant, I sleep on my front, so nothing is comfortable. I sleep on my sides then wake up with the feeling that my ribs are about to cave in, too

Tabs · 02/11/2005 23:36

I'm here too ladies, but Wedns night is quiz night so only just got in. Expect you've all gone to bed by now.

Very funny Jasnem - knew when I posted it that someone would comment!

Thell - book sounds good. Prima Baby has article on diff types of pain relief this month, so must have a read and see what they say about water. Bit disappointed that it sounds like my hospital won't have their birthing pool built in time, so I'll have to go to another one (part of same trust) if I want a water birth.

3k - you should be ok for your SMP as you'll be claiming it through your own company rather than his anyway. Think the earliest you can claim is about 11 weeks before due week, so if he sells earlier than you had planned then you'd just need to start your mat leave earlier.

TicTac - good news about getting to skive for the rest of the week.

Frizbe - yes to waking a few times each night, and sometimes with a dead arm yes. Try to settle back off hugging another pillow to keep my arm out of the way!

The oddest thing I get, and I never think to mention it, is a patch on my left thigh where I often seem to lose all feeling. It sort of feels like a hot patch, but then when I prod it I realise that it is actually numb. No idea what that's all about, but it's been like it several times a week since very early days! This is during the day though rather than at night.

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 08:33

How bizarre Tabs!!

Night from hell - DD kept waking up and crying and I have no idea why We're having a pj day today - DH has stolen my car for work, so I'm gonna be forced to stay home

thell · 03/11/2005 08:45

Agreed - Tabs your leg is weird!!
I'd keep an eye on it, in case it's something to do with a nerve getting trapped,...but then again if you're having no pain...?!

Went to first yoga sesh last night. Very lovely. Babies obviously liked it - everyone reported massive kicks as soon as we started deep breathing!!
And in terms of uncomfy sleeping, I've had to take one of my head pillows away because I was getting a very sore lower back. Seems to have done the trick.

Right, I'm off to help out at my friend's school today, so will check in much later. Hope you all have a good day. Especially little wee flame and her mummy! Cheerio!

womba1 · 03/11/2005 08:57

Morning Mums, hope you're all doing well and feeling fabulous?! I'm doing great on the baby front... lots of movement, lots of growth and loads of tummy rubs from dh!
I'm having real problems with my pc and it's hit and miss as to when it will allow me to access the internet or infact do anything on it. I wanted to start a thread to see if there were any pc experts out there, but for whatever reason, i can't start a new conversation... plus i've lost my taskbar! One moment it was there.... i came back several hours later, and it's gone! Any ideas ladies??
Anyway, i'll pop on as and when my laptop permits me to do so... [angry... bye for now,
Womba x

womba1 · 03/11/2005 08:59

Whoops... that should have said i'm !!
Cya x

ixel · 03/11/2005 09:28

Hello all. Thanks for the pass the parcel advice. Think I'll give it a shot, as we're not having too many kids. Maybe I should put a pressie for the adults in each layer too, as they'll be doing all the work!!

I'm feeling so huge now. And knackered! Could do with some sleep, but Ive never gone more than 3 hrs-ish without waking up for a wee since I got pregnant with ds, which is 2 1/2 yrs ago!! Oh well...

Still trying to sort out my ebay account. Someone accessed it and tried to sell a tractor on a dodgy scam, so ebay alerted me and I followed all their instructions for getting the account back running. All looked ok, but am still blocked from bidding or selling

3k · 03/11/2005 09:30

Morning all,

TicTac - I'm glad you are taking things easy, you need to rest. That said I have been a bit off colour all week and still at flaming work (but I dont get paid and cant afford not to be here!). I started my blood pressure tablets last Friday and tomorrow morning I'm back at docs to have sugar test, blood pressure check and urine check. I have not been sleeping very well either and what with my bosses bombshell yesterday I think my BP will still be high. Been feeling a bit shakey again this morning but just had a big bowl of ready brek and a cup of tea so we will see how I go.

My baby has been a bit quieter too over the past two days, was actually worried on way to work this am but once I had a cup of tea I got a few kicks. I take it as they get bigger they move slightly less???????

My boss is out all day so lots of rest for me today!!! YAY. Oh and I promise to try not to send repeat messages like yesterday

Jasnem · 03/11/2005 09:49

morning,

I slept almost all night last night. I was amazed when I woke up and it was5.30. I even went back to sleep after dp went to work, and the kids woke me at 8. Bit of a rush to get to school, but now I've got the whole day with nothing to do....lovely.

I like the idea of a water birth, too but couldn't do it with dd1 as my waters had broken, and labour progressed too quickly. The hospital does have a pool, but I'm not sure if I'll be allowed/able to use it 'cos of the problems Ihad with dd2. I'llask the midwife next time I go. Even if I could just use it for labouring I'd be happy. I don't really do drugs for pain relief, it'll be gas and air or a general anaesthetic for me again.

I've had cramp in the sole of my foot since yesterday, and can't budge it.
Hope everone is well.

Jasnem · 03/11/2005 09:51

3k has your boss got a buyer yet, or is he still just thinking about it?

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 09:51

I still can't believe that they tried to sell a tractor!!! Out of all the things they could sell!!

I'm bitter about ebay today - my breast pump arrived, and it turns out that although it was in the box, it had no instructions!!! Had to download them from avent.

I have some breast shield things going spare... not too sure what they are for (they aren't nipple shields, I know that)... will put up a link from boots. Just let me know if you want them.

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 09:55

Hmmm... there is no link at boots - they are called Breast Shells apparently - now gonna research what they are for!

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 09:56

This is what I found "Nursing Aids - Breast Shells
Breast shells are used in the last few weeks of pregnancy to help flat or inverted nipples to stretch out - so it will be easier for the baby to have something to latch on to. The rigid plastic puts a firm pressure on the ligaments around the base of the nipple. Medela now makes a model with a more comfortable material, which offers some give and yet is still effective in applying pressure. The cost difference however, is considerable. Combining the shells with the Hoffman Technique of exercises can be very helpful preparation when needed. Make sure you have a lactation consultant check your nipples a few months before birth to help avoid problems that can be worked on while you are still pregnant! Breast shells can also be used to collect milk if you are a heavy leaker. If you have sore or cracked nipples (hopefully you will take measures to prevent this before it happens), breast shells help to keep anything from touching them. "

Let me know if you want em

3k · 03/11/2005 10:05

Jasnem - my boss said he was just thinking about it but I reckon he will sell it if he hasnt already. He was in a terrible mood this morning, said things were getting on top of him. I dont think he has any idea how we feel working for him!!! He probably doesnt even care.

Last night I had to get up to pee around 1am and my boobs had leaked a lot - I had a 4cm round patch on my shirt!!! I have been leaking since about 16 weeks but it seems to be getting heavier now.
