Evening ladies! Wow, what a lot of news, am just catching up after a weekend off.
Good luck for tomorrow Cep.
Chip - no need to feel silly and what great news in the end!
Knockedup - hope it all continues to go well.

Right, off to bed now as absolutely shattered! Not helped by a 16-mile walk today and a drive round the nightmare that is the M25!!!

Night all!

SWeavind · 21/03/2011 04:17

Hello everyone,

I took my pregnancy test yesterday and it had a faint line. Hubby and I are very excited and will retest tomorrow or Wednesday for a hopefully stronger line :)

This is our first pregnancy, so it's all very exciting :)

Katiebeau · 21/03/2011 09:40

Hello Everyone,

I have been a "lurker" for a few days now although I missed this weekends messages. Chip - great news and fingers crossed for you. Cep - I hope all goes well today.

I would love to join. More nervous this pregnancy than that of my DD. I had an induced birth and I am terrified. In fact starting to panic already and I'm only 8 weeks. I though I had resolved the issues but it seems they were just hiding Confused.

Good luck everyone and I look forward to chatting - SWeavind - best of luck, it is so exciting yes! Wink

Scan tomorrow....

pod3030 · 21/03/2011 10:19

deemented · 21/03/2011 11:29

Just back from docs. Scan on Thursday. Supposed to rest until then. Like that'll happen.

cep · 21/03/2011 11:43

knockedup sorry you've had such a rough time lately.

dee i'm sure you'll be ok hon.

welcome katie and congratulations. have you put yourself on our stats list yet?

well good news here too. Bean measuring 9mm (6wk6) with hb, although they wouldn't/couldn't say how many bpm. 3 days less than i thought but not too bad. i'm a bit more relieved, they don't do reassurance scans so unless i have another bleed won't see until 12 weeks now. have taken the plunge and booked my first mw app, for next tuesday.

TerrysNo2 · 21/03/2011 11:49

Yay cep so pleased to see a little bean for you!! They didn't tell me how many bpm either.

Welcome sweavind and katie!!

Dee keeping my FX for you and hope Thursday comes around quickly.

chip cannot believe it, don't you know stress is not good for us PG ladies, you can't do that to us!! Wink

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/03/2011 12:32

Morning all.

Well I had my scan friday and I was exactly 7 weeks. They checked all they could as I had had so many drugs - better explain - i had the tetanus, diphtheria and polio vaccine as well as Hep b vaccine while pregant (I need them for work but obviously didn't know i was pregant). They confirmed the egg sack was fine the baby was measuring correctly and there was a hb!!

I am going to check the news I have missed so will be back x

Piplysmelie · 21/03/2011 13:12

How lovely to read about all the scans going so well. Really pleased for you all.

cep · 21/03/2011 13:46

bumpsnow so please scan went well.

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/03/2011 14:11

cep you too, good news all around..

3rd hope your ok. Just want to say that when pg with ds I had really serious bleeds throughout pregnacy. I was admitted on 3 occasions but we could never get to the bottom of where the blood was coming from. Hope your able to get another scan. DS is 2 now by the way so never give up hope.

Chip Shock I am so pleased all was well in the end buy my word how awful for you..
Demented good luck for thursday try to rest as much as you can.

Hi to all the new ladies and hello to everyone else. If I have missed anyone sorry

lktoday5 · 21/03/2011 14:40

yay yay yay for good scans

cep i cheakily logged on at work as i desperately wanted to know how you were

ive had a little blood today and some stabbing pains in my right side, but it hasnt been a lot and seems to have eased. Supposed to be going to the ante-natal clinic anyway on thursday so am hoping I can hold out till then

Crumbs this is a rollercoaster, hey?

rightontime · 21/03/2011 15:44

Yay cep and chip. I just knew your beans would be ok.

Good to see you back knockedup Sorry you have had a rough time but at least you have a little bean there still.

Got my FX for those of you with bleeding/pains.

escapeartist · 21/03/2011 16:01

Oh my, so much has been happening!

First of all chip and cep what great news! Beans with heartbeats all round - yay!! All the best for knockedup too, you sound like you've had the experience before and have lived to tell the tale, hope all goes well again. Fingers crossed for lktoday, it sounds like just a little bleed - good luck at the clinic tomorrow.

I am meant to be calling my gynae today to go in this week, but would prefer to go in next week instead - or maybe Friday when I will be 6+4 (though I would prefer to go in at 7+)
Aside from that felt pretty sick at work, but only after lunch. I spent most of my morning worrying that I didn't feel pg. I'm not sure I can manage another 6 weeks before I can relax a bit... Who thought conception was the hard part! Argh.

Daiso · 21/03/2011 16:13

knocked up, cep and chip soooo pleased scans went well. Welcome to all the newbies. sorry if i've missed anyone out.

I keep waking up at silly o clock and also getting soooo hot during the night. Sickness comes and goes. As do cramps/twinges etc but have been told and finers crossed it's all normal.

What a lovely day today - feels like summers on it's way Smile i kn ow it's a bit early to say that but lets make the most of it!

Daiso · 21/03/2011 16:13

ooh sorry bumps great news too. Smile

Piplysmelie · 21/03/2011 16:15

Hi knockedupagain

Now that you are back I wonder if I can ask you which clinic you used and how much the IVF cost.

My sister has been trying for a baby for 10 years and has had a couple of IVF's but has not been successful. She is now in her late 40's and is thinking of IVF again. I would appreciate you passing on the details.

Thanks

escapeartist · 21/03/2011 16:17

Right... I have to confess I am a geek... But, I found this study online

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15533362?dopt=Abstract

Ok, you don't need to read it, what it says is basically that seeing a Heartbeat at between 6 and 8 weeks in women without recurrent miscarriages (more than 3 in a row) means a 98% of live birth. :) This will probably make most of us exhale with relief. Even in women with recurrent miscarriages the percentage is still 84! The odds are on our sides girls! (Sorry, but I have been obsessing over miscarriage odds for some reason...) Hopes this helps some of us!

SnoozleDoozle · 21/03/2011 16:59

I didn't get the chance to check out the thread yesterday, and I missed so much!

Was worried reading through to catch up but I see that things are looking up again. What a relief!

OK, I have been posting saying that I don't have much in the way of symptoms, but I don't think I've ever slept as much as I did over the weekend. In fact, I'm normally a total insomniac and struggle to sleep at all but I slept for 12 hours on Saturday night, feel asleep on the sofa yesterday afternoon reading a book (bliss!) then slept for about ten hours last night too. This is not like me at all!

TerrysNo2 · 21/03/2011 17:28

escape I think I love you!!!! Grin

OP posts:
CazandBelle · 21/03/2011 17:31

cep so pleased to see everything is ok.

dee make sure you rest up now and I will be thinking of you lots until Thursday.

I'm ok. Feeling the urge to tidy my house from top to bottom. It is disgusting! Surely its too early for nesting! lol!

Very nervous about scan tomorrow, although I've no real reason to be - its just a huge step to get past.

No sickness here for a couple days apart from faint nausea. I would actually love to be horrendously sick as that would be far more reassuring. Tired though.

cep · 21/03/2011 17:32

mrsarch my mil is greek and has a place there, we normally go every year, but can't afford it this year, (and obviously will have big bump (i hope) this year) escapeartist actually lives there.

daiso if it's raining tomorrow i'll know who to blame. Grin

i would love to sleep for 12 hours if i could just get ds to sleep past 4:30 Sad am sooo tired.

Truffkin · 21/03/2011 18:47

HI guys, it's been a great couple of days with scan news from Cep and Chip and Bumps and KnockedUp - great stuff. Also nice to see some new faces as well, there's going to be a lot of babies around in November!

I was still feeling ill today after my cold just not shifting so managed to get away from work early and come home. I have done a couple of things around the house but mostly sat and chilled with my vicks vapo rub! I think I'm feeling a bit better so hopefully it's on its' way out now. We're at a wedding on Friday so I'm really hoping I feel well for that.

Sorry for moaning guys, I'll get my happy hat back on now Grin I'm seeing my GP tomorrow morning and have a huge list of questions for her! I'm hoping I can find out what happens with the midwife appointment and what options I have for choosing birth centres or hospitals. How exciting!

Reading about the scans I am now really excited for ours on Friday and I know my DH is looking forward to having it confirmed by a professional! It must be so strange for him as he hasn't had the physical stuff of no period plus giving up drinking and being careful about medication / food etc. I'm hoping we get to see a heartbeat (although I'll only be 6+1 so know it's not always possible) and see something so we know it's going well. I keep worrying about having no symptoms but I know I will regret that when I start puking every day Wink
