TwoJackRussellsandabean · 20/03/2011 07:47

Good morning all,

I've been watching this thread since it started, but just plucked up the courage to join you all.

This is our first child, seven weeks yesterday, am mostly really tired at the moment, went to bed at eight last night and slept right through the six this morning, but still yawning away now!!!

It's been so nice to watch people joining the thread and sad that there have been a few people to leave, but fx everyone will stay with us from now on!!

CazandBelle · 20/03/2011 08:29

Hello twojack :) I've only just plucked up the courage too.

Well, Sunday morning and I woke up at 6.30 feeling sick, by 7 I had to get up and eat a digestive biscuit to try and stop the nausea feeling (which is has for now!) but I was then so awake I've stayed up. Why do I struggle on work days to get up at 6.30 but on my lie in day it is no problem!?!

Haven't actually been sick since Friday afternoon, very on and off so far this time. Should I be worried? Although saying that 7 week was when I started getting horrendously sick last time, so we'll see what this week brings I guess.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 20/03/2011 09:31

Wuzz my cravings have been marmite on everything - bacon sandwiches, pasta, rice, naan bread to dip in a curry, a sauce with battered fish! It doesn't seem to be wearing off, no matter how much I eat. I've got through a whole jar this week, when I'm not normally keen! I've totally gone off tea, it makes me feel queasy when I normally can't get out of bed without it, and don't like coke anymore because it tastes of metal. That was a bummer because I got a coke at a party on friday thinking it would help me get away with not drinking, but then I couldn't drink that either! I would love if my food obsessions were limited to Moussaka, I'm literally only thinking about food Smile

I have a doctors appointment on tuesday, and I'm going to see if I can get an early scan, I think I'm 5+4 today, anyone got any advice for convincing doctors? I haven't had a period since miscarriage, so I think they will want to date it anyway.

WuzzAndBuddy · 20/03/2011 09:37

Morning all!
Welcome in Jack, pull up a chair, get stuck in.
I don't know if anyone told you but its customary to bring lovely treats when you join in.... like moussaka.... or pickled onions.... I haven't been shopping yet, please feed my cravings

I wish I'd gone to bed at 8, I was so comfy curled up on the sofa on MN I didn't go to bed til gone 11... paying for it today. Cant stop yawning.
Was so tired when I went to bed I forgot to take my contact lenses out, eyes feel horrid this morning, bleugh.

Going for a walk along the long walk this afternoon, clear the cobwebs out!

Daiso · 20/03/2011 09:55

Morning ladies

Have been awake since 8am again!! Cannot stay in bed at the min which is VERY unheard of for me.

The sickness feeling has passed and am thinking this is going to be a looong 36 weeks! I wake up every day expecting something new but nada!

wuzz a walk sounds lovely -is it sunny in your neck of the woods?

Lizzy just ask them - like you say, they may want to do one anyway. My friend had a MC and got a scan at 8weeks.

WuzzAndBuddy · 20/03/2011 10:10

Hi Lizzy, sorry xpost.

I would think they would offer you a scan anyway if you've not had a period since MC, just to be able to date properly.

Not sure what I'd do if I went off tea... I usually have a brew and a biscuit every evening when DS goes to bed, its like my signal that I'm switching off for the night! A few nights ago I went and put the kettle on and found myself making hot chocolate instead, unheard of!

Its not too bad here Daiso, cloudy but the blue is trying to break through.
I'm in 2 minds whether to go or not, its bound to be packed with tourists but DS wants to take his scooter over there. Its probably the safest place for a mad 3yr old daredevil on a scooter!
How many points for a squished tourist!? Grin

smilingcl · 20/03/2011 10:22

Hello Team November, this thread moves V quickly! It's really nice to read about what everyone else is going through because I'm struggling to keep this a secret! I think I'm 6+1 today and I have side effects that come and go, sometimes I can't tell if they're real or if it's the hyperchondriac in me bringing them to life. I've felt nauseous on and off, if I get up too quickly I have to sit back down again and I've got constant boob ache as someone else said they feel massive to me, but they're only a B to begin with so I don't think anyone else would notice!

I wonder how people manage to keep it quiet until week 12?! I went out on Friday night and obviously wasn't drinking I should have said I was on anti biotics but I just said I didn't feel like it and came under some intense scrutiny from my friends! I think I'm just going to stay in for the next 6 weeks!

Also, with exercise I'm not sure what I'm allowed to do, all the sites I can find are quite vague. I do some aerobics classes that involve a lot of jumping about, but I've got slight paranoia about dislodging the bean. Also with yoga, is yoga okay or should I not be upside down now? It does give me a bit of a head rush. EVerything says you should advise your teacher you're pregnant but I can't coz they know my friends (who are also often there).

Sorry for long post, just venting!

chipmonkey · 20/03/2011 10:46

Hi Folks, well it looks like I'm leaving you.Sad Passed a massive clot last night and am still bleeding. . Will go into hospital later on and see what the procedure is but bean is definitely gone.

Will check in from time to time to see how you're all getting on.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 20/03/2011 10:56

Oh I'm so sorry chipmonkey, I know exactly how you feel. Fingers crossed that you catch again soon. Ignore all the people who say things like "at least you know you can get pregnant", take your time and grieve for the baby you were having. (((((HUGS)))))

WuzzAndBuddy · 20/03/2011 11:25

Oh Chip, sorry you've had to go through that Sad
Hope things go smoothly for you at the hospital.
Take it easy and look after yourself xXx

deemented · 20/03/2011 11:26

Chip So sorry, really sad to hear your news. Take care.

escapeartist · 20/03/2011 14:40

chip so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself and give yourself time!

Smiling I used to be a competitive athlete and still train 10 plus hours a week. Buy james clapp's book
www.amazon.co.uk/Exercising-Through-Pregnancy-James-Clapp/dp/1886039593/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300631762&sr=8-1

It is a must! It explains why continuing to exercise is the best thing you can do for you and your baby (bigger and more efficient placenta, easier birth and closer to term than other women and many many more reasons!) and what kind of exercise (and how much) you can do. He also dispels myths about links between miscarriage and exercise. All backed up with hard facts, peer reviewed studies etc. THE best present I have bought myself in the last few months.

I am still training, just lower intensity and with more pee breaks :) and more drinking to keep hydrated. In fact my run this morning helped a ton with feeling sick!

rightontime · 20/03/2011 14:53

chip I'm so sorry x.

clipclopclipclop · 20/03/2011 16:22

Oh Chip I'm so sorry x

panpipe · 20/03/2011 16:30

That's rubbish for you Chip - big hugs heading your way xx

cep · 20/03/2011 16:31

chip are you back from the hospital yet??

Woodifer · 20/03/2011 17:05

((((Chip))))

good link escape artist! what sport are you - athletics? running?

escapeartist · 20/03/2011 17:22

Thanks woodifer - I feel training has given me so much in my life and would hate to have to completely stop while pg. Where we live at the moment (Greece) it is a big no-no to exercise at all when pg. It is in fact seen as bad for your baby to even be active, walking or even continuing to work. Argh. Very frustrating. I used to go running with a pg friend of mine and we regularly got abuse from passers by! Saying that, no one blinks an eye when a pg woman smokes or drinks, I went to a dinner party recently where everyone smoked despite the fact that there was a 7 month pg lady there!!! P**ses me right off!

goldmaple · 20/03/2011 17:22

Welcome to everyone new!! Just caught up on everything!

chip so sorry to hear your news:( Take care, I still have my FX that it was just a random bleed.

Escapeartist and smiling I am normally a size B too, so no one has noticed my boob growth - including DH which makes me think it could just be in my head [hmmm]

Have finally got symptoms here. I get so hungry that I feel sick, and then when I do eat sometimes I feel worse. It's been around the clock for a few days now and I had to leave work early on Sat (boss was not impressed). Oh well... I'm hoping it will settle down soon

escapeartist · 20/03/2011 17:23

Sorry, to answer your question - I was in rowing for 12 years, before turning to triathlon (swimming, cycling and running).

busyboysmum · 20/03/2011 17:30

Chip so sorry to hear your sad news (hugs)

I have stopped yoga for the first trimester, I always go easy on myself during pregnancy and have resumed yoga with a pregnancy yoga dvd during the second and third timesters. I will do the same this time - just how I do things, my SIL jogged and exercised through her pregnanct despite bleeding throughout and her baby is just gorgeous. I however am not that strong.
