evening all.

wuzz sorry you're feeling a bit low about your birthday. it'll be better celebrating when he comes home. just pretend that's when it is.

welcome mrsgasman and congratulations, sorry you're having a tough time at the momenbt. the inhaler thing seems a bit Hmm ok BV i was diagnosed with it (am sure i'm had it for years but for some reason drs never seemed to realise although i had loads of swabs etc.) during my 2 week wait, but they didn't want to give me cream until i knew if i was preg. on the day i got my bfp i called them to say, and dr warned that they don't normally prescribe it during first trimester, but this was because it hasn't been tested enough on early pregnant women. He did give me the cream though. When i went to dr's on Monday told her i think it's come back and she asked if i wanted the cream again, so they can give it as long as you're aware it hasn't been sufficiently tested enough. Another lady i know on a thread i'm on has access to medical database and basically confirmed this.

hope everyone else is ok.

MrsGasMan · 30/03/2011 18:50

cep thank you so much, that's really helpful. Was it Metronidazole you were given?

wuzz that's really rough that your DH is away. You're right though, it gives you something really lovely to look forward to. Just seems like a long way off doesn't it? On the plus side, your dinner sounds delicious!

Thanks everyone, you've really cheered me up!

alicat10 · 30/03/2011 19:12

What's the stats thread? Something I've missed?

chipmonkey · 30/03/2011 19:39

Am very impressed with your fruit salad, Wuzz. I actually went to the trouble of peeling and chopping a fresh pineapple today which is most unlike me. Usually I buy a pineapple, wait till it goes off, then chuck it and think "That was a pity"

I think we should have a birthday party here for you. Lots of pretend Wine!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 30/03/2011 19:45

Stats thread here ali

Just add your details, copy and paste etc.

And yes, let's have a party. It's my birthday tomorrow and I've taken tomorrow and Fri off work. The plan was to have a girls day out with DD tomorrow and then (after 2.5 years) DP and I were having our very first night away together since DD arrived. DD was going to nanas on Friday night.

That was the plan anyway. Then we won 4 golden tickets for the exclusive preview of Peppa Pig world at Poulton Park. So now it's Fri and Sat night in a hotel in Southampton (we're nr Chester/n Wales border, so looong drive) and DP, myself, DD and nana all piling into the car on Friday. Hey ho. DD will faint when she sees it though. Shame I won;t get my lie in though :(

WuzzAndBuddy · 30/03/2011 20:01

Can we have lots of pretend everything-we're-not-supposed-to-have!?

Bleugh, I can't stand pineapple. Well done you though, I'm a bit rubbish when it comes to eating fruit, apples, bananas, grapes, oranges, thats pretty much my lot.
Can you eat too many grapes? I've eaten almost a full box today....

It is hard having DH away MrsGasMan, but he's been gone since October so we really are on the home stretch now, hopefully this last bit will fly round.
Just need little pick-me-ups every now and then Smile
And my friend just text me saying 'Will you eat chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing?' Woohoo! She's either taking it into work tomorrow or friday or she's planning something for Sunday! There's a pick me up eh!? Grin

Ali there's a link to it at the top of the thread.
Just copy and paste and add your stats. Just a way of keeping track of who's who.

deemented · 30/03/2011 20:30

Happy Birthday, MrsA!!

Well, i'm not best impressed. My midwife rang me back to tell me that she is no longer handling my care. I am now going to be consultant led, and all my maternity care will be at the hospital. I will have no home visits from her whatsoever. She has cancelled my booking in appointment, instead that will be done on Wednesday when i have to go and see the GD team at the hospital. Fun fun!!!

alicat10 · 30/03/2011 20:31

Thanks MrsA and Wuzz what a lot of us, no wonder I am struggling to keep track and remember who said what. I think my brain has given up - can't retain anything for more than about 10 seconds.

Welcome Mrs GasMan

Quite a little gang of us for 8 Nov :) Had MW booking in appt today for over an hour [I'm lucky we can just ask out GP to give us a call for pg which they do the same day and then hand us over to MW who has clinic in Dr surgery. MW v nice, long chat about history and fairly predictably I will be consultant led (prob same one as last time who specialises in foetal medicine) so just got to wait for a consultant appt & scan in 2-4 weeks (hopefully all the bank hols won't stuff it up) And I will prob be booked for CS on 1 Nov (or poss 25 Oct - you won't kick me out will you?).

Feeling v guilty this evening as feeling so exhausted I know I am being really impatient with my little ones - any fuss at bedtime and I basically just start losing the plot as I'm so desperate for my bed. Not fair to take it out on them though, not their fault. Hope tiredness eases off soon.....

I am craving prawn dim sum so can we have those for the party Wink

cep · 30/03/2011 20:32

mrsgasmanIt was clindomycin and this is what my friend said about it

"It says in the bnf that clindomycin is poorly absorbed into the blood (ie therefore prob wouldn't even get near your baby) and in pg is 'not known to be harmful' ie. They haven't tested it on pg women bcos they hardly ever do for ethical reasons but no one has reported any serious effects. The reason they're worried is prob mainly bcos of the method of use - where you are sticking an applicator! (sorry if too graphic!) so just be v v gentle. I'm sure your gp wouldn't have prescribed it if he/she didn't think it was safe but if you're worried go back to them, or maybe talk to the pharmacist that filled the script?"

mrsa Paulton's park isn't far from me. There's loads to do there and quite a few things even for the little ones before the peppa pig thing came along.

oooh chocolate cake with choc butter icing.

cep · 30/03/2011 20:35

alicat what is dim sum, i've always wondered but dh is the type who orders the same thing everytime, so have never gotten round to having it. oh and i'm the same at the moment especially as he'd been waking me up for half the night on top of 1st trimester tiredness.

dee oh how annoying, you'd have thought she'd have finished booking you in though.

alicat10 · 30/03/2011 20:40

cep dim sum covers loads of different chinese dumplings etc some can be like a sweetish dough with fillings of pork or prawn, some are fried, some steamed, things like sticky rice wrapped in a leaf - basically lots of diff fillings and lots of diff wrappings and you get a big selection and everyone digs in and there can be sweet ones some like mini custard tarts...now I am seriously hungry

MooseyMoo · 30/03/2011 20:42

Right, ordering in helium balloons, streamers, champagne, red and white wine, beer, vodka...

Food
Starter - Chicken liver parfait with toast and chutney
Mains - Beef Wellington, roast spuds and some veggies
Dessert - Self Saucing chocolate pudding

Any other suggestions? Maybe should get some bean bags to slump on.

Wuzz - Fingers crossed your man manages to get to a phone on your birthday. I bet he will try his best to hear your voice.

Talking of vivid dreams, the weirdest one I had with DD was in my 3rd trimester. DH and I were proudly getting baby out of car. I went to the boot and got baby out Hmm and then dropped baby down the drain. So thin, it slipped between the grates and couldn't get it out. V bizarre. I always worry about that drain in our driveway!

MooseyMoo · 30/03/2011 20:44

Oh, er cross post alicat and cep. Got a bit carried away with thinking of food and the thread moved on without me!!!

bumpandisaacsmum · 30/03/2011 20:44

Hello all, sounds like everyone is really chatty here :)

I am now 8+2 with my second pg (due 7th Nov). I have a 6yr old DS who is so excited he is finally getting a baby bro/sis (he's been asking since before he was 2!!!)

I have my booking appt next Tues with the MW which I'm excited but nervous about.... have moved area since last pg and not sure how any of it works here!! Also want to have a home birth so am hoping that the MW will be supportive of it!!

This pg seems as though it's my first at the mo as my previous I didn't find out til I was 24weeks Shock so morning sickness etc is new for me.... cannot keep much down other than during the hours of about 10 and 4 ish which has taken a little getting used to.

Emotionally though I am feeling really low.... had a complete breakdown at work today which was a little embarrassing but I'm not sure whether this is due to pregnancy hormones making me more sensitive or other things that have happened recently (my nana passed away just before I had planned to tell her about pg, my sister is suffering really bad post-natal depression, my mum has been made redundant and my DS is having trouble at school (too bright for his own good) ) Am going to GP tomorrow to discuss it all. Hopefully some rest, sleep (what is that again??) & food cooked by DP will put me back on track!!!

Sorry about my long post.... will be great getting to know you guys and hearing about how things progress over the coming months!!!

cep · 30/03/2011 20:45

alicat are you told what's in what? or do you ask for certain fillings? dh hates prawns.

deemented · 30/03/2011 20:46

Fried egg butties, made on soft white floury bread, with proper Welsh salted butter slathered on, the white of the egg nice and hard and the yolk soft and unctios, and when you bite in the yolk dribbles down your chin.

Not that i've thought about it much Blush

WuzzAndBuddy · 30/03/2011 20:52

Sorry MrsA I went for a wee then carried on with my post, didn't see your post!
Happy birthday for tomorrow! Whats you're request for the buffet? What do you reeeally want to eat....? Grin

cep · 30/03/2011 20:52

welcome bumpsandisaacsmum congratulations. I'm so sorry you're going through such a hard time at the moment.

moo funnily enough still talking food though. Grin

dee ooh with crispy bacon.

bumpandisaacsmum · 30/03/2011 20:56

MooseyMoo Your dream about the drain made me chuckle.... my sister had a problem with the drain in her driveway - when her health visitor did her first visit she parked right next to the drain and dropped her keys, which ended up in the drain!!!!!

Luckily no drains near my parking spot :)

Poppet45 · 30/03/2011 20:58

Ooooh can I be an honorary member of the November 8th club - tis me and my ID twin sister's birthday! And hubby is a November 7th. Hmmm if I'm really unlucky I could be in labour on my birthday.....

Poppet45 · 30/03/2011 21:00

Ooooh god pass me an egg butty now woman!!!

alicat10 · 30/03/2011 21:06

Welcome bumpdandisaacsmum - no winder you've had a bit of a meltdown sounds like you've had more than enough to cope with.

cep yes you choose exactly what you want - like a massive list of starters that you order all at once.

Also fancy White Stilton with apricots but have had a big chunk of Wensleydale and cranberries to distract me. So with you on fried egg butty - had scrambled egg on toast last night

WuzzAndBuddy · 30/03/2011 21:06

Oh I want an egg butty now aswell.....

I bought eggs today and didnt realise I already have 12... so I now have 18 eggs.... I'll be back with the butties.... Grin

alicat10 · 30/03/2011 21:07

Whoops but didn't stave off the fried egg craving.

WuzzAndBuddy · 30/03/2011 21:17

Here you go ladies!
Call it a pre bedtime snack.... one each.... nom, nom, nom...

And a special crispy bacon one for Cep Grin
