Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That sounds plausible chip when I expressed with DS when I was stressing about how much milk would come out I got hardly anything, then we decided to mix in formula if I didn't express enough and suddenly it started pouring out, I think the fact I had removed the pressure of having to produce enough made me relax enough to produce more!

Things getting worse here, blood just gt bright red and have passed a few bits - looked like chooped liver, are they clots? looks like this is it for me

cep · 28/03/2011 18:43

clipclop i'm sorry bleeding has gotten worse. Hopefully the scan tomorrow will have a good outcome, i know at least 1 other woman who passed 2 large clots and her pregnancy is progressing well. keeping fx for you. What time's your scan tomorrow?

dee how are you hon?

i have another scan booked in for next tuesday, and dr signed me off for this week as i was so exhausted, so at least i can go back to bed after dropping ds off at nursery. am still feeling sick, but unsure if that's cause i'm so tired. Also getting full very quickly.

clipclopclipclop · 28/03/2011 18:50

Because I'm not near my docs the NHS have advised me to go to a walk in clinic that is open til eight. Just deposited dd with a friend and waiting for dh to get home and then i'll go.

cep · 28/03/2011 18:59

fx for you clipclop

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 19:00

Terry's, yes!

And also, when ds1 was small I was very nervous about feeding him in public. Then I noticed that any time I fed him in public, he had green poo afterwards! So maybe my supply dropped due to my nervousness.

I did get over that, btw, fed the others anywhere and everywhere. Even in front of the nuns ( my aunts) to my mother's shame!Grin

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 19:01

clipclop, I passed a very large clot, apple-sized and the bean was still there! You really, never, never, know.

TerrysNo2 · 28/03/2011 19:03

clipclop thinking of you, hope all does well at the clinic. xxx

Ah clipclop - thinking of you x

Cep - I'm ok, thanks for asking love - the cramping has stopped. How are you doing? Any more sleep?

smilingcl · 28/03/2011 20:10

Oh clipclop, rubbish :( Hopefully it's still sticking in there.

Went to docs today which was pretty uneventful but nice anyway. He recommended Homerton hospital and booked me in to see the midwife on 6th April, makes it feel more real. He's ignored my superlong cycle and put my due date as 31st October which is good I guess coz that would make me 9 weeks and I can book a dating scan in 2 weeks time :) Also I'd like to pretend i'm 9 weeks coz it's only 3 weeks until I can relax a bit and tell people.. He also told me to stop googling statistics.

smilingcl · 28/03/2011 20:16

Btw, who goes to the midwife appt, do you usually go by yourself or can dp come too? He wants to get involved and find out what's going on!

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 20:29

It's up to you, smiling. With us, I usually go alone. Dh comes to big things like scans but I know some dh's /dps go to every appointment.

Katiebeau · 28/03/2011 20:36

Clipclop thinking of, I hope it's all OK.

Dee and Laabama - FX it's all OK now.

Re been "bunged up". I live on Quorn, wholegrain foods and veg. I can't eat red meat anyway (bungs me up!). Orange juice and oranges are my craving. I'm at a loss......

Not really that serious to be honest.

MrsA - I was induced and my milk when off to Rio I think. Still shake at the though and I'm embarrassed to admit I'm only having No 2 as we managed to save enough for me to opt out of the NHS. We're not rich but I'm too scared Blush. Mistakes were made due to pressure on the service and it has got much worse 2 years on. Now I don't even get to see a midwife until over 20 weeks pregnant here as they are too busy.

I did have really good support from the HV's though re BF. Rebirthing, 6/7 hrs a day expressing programme (for 40/50mls, depressing!!!). 6 weeks in and hanging on to the real world by a whisker I gave up. DD is grand thank goodness and all my BF friends were fabulous as I sobbed on them. They also had kiddies which obligingly got colic, reflux, allergies etc so I couldn't just blame my lack of breast milk when DD suffered!! Does that make me bad to be glad BF/FF babies all get this stuff so I feel a tad less guilty?

Already stressing about feeding No 2. I hope it works this time.

Good vibes coming to you all, concentrating on those of you having a stressful time.

Katiebeau · 28/03/2011 20:38

Clipclop thinking of you (too old to be cool and pretend it was "txt spk"!!!)

escapeartist · 28/03/2011 20:51

clipclop Sorry to hear bleeding has got worse.

I have also started to bleed tonight :( A bit of pain too, though that might be bowel related) Spoke to Dr who was very short and asked to see me for a scan tomorrow morning... For some reason, with nausea gone etc, I have not felt pregnant today and feel very, very sad. :(

Katiebeau · 28/03/2011 21:03

Escape - I know MN is not known for this but right now I do wish there was a hug icon. Fingers and toes crossed the scan is positive. You're having such a tough time. Passing you Caramel Digestives.....

Woodifer · 28/03/2011 21:52

hugs and crossed fingers to clipclop and escape xxx

clipclopclipclop · 28/03/2011 22:07

Back. Got an appointment for a scan tomorrow afternoon. Bleeding has stopped. Pretty much stopped after I passed the clots. At least I'll know one way or another tomorrow

not caught up yet on the thread but escape hugs to you and fx for your scan tomorrow

alicat10 · 28/03/2011 22:37

Gosh it's taken so long to read the updates it's now past bedtime! Plus reading on iPod so hard to keep track.

So fx for all of you with bleeding & scans x

MrsA I had EMCS after induction with DS and he was in NICU - bf didn't happen just expressed for 6+ hours per day for couple of ounces. Hoped for VBAC with DD but ended up with CS. Was determined to bf and told MW I had history - they were brilliant - checked every latch for 48 hours. Ended up bf for a year and loved it - wonderful bonding experience and allowed me to move on from all hang ups about it not happening with DS

WuzzAndBuddy · 28/03/2011 22:51

Laabama, fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow, hope it all goes well xx

Truff, glad you had a good scan, great news!

Clipclop, I hope you're ok? Thinking of you xx

Evening everyone else, I'm sorry for not addressing everyone but I'd be here all night!
You lot are good at talking! Wink

Decided tomorrow is the day, I'm going to call the Drs and make this little bean official. I'm really nervous about it but I can't keep it to myself forever!
I just feel like, once I tell 'the professionals', they get involved. I feel I'm swept along on their wave then. I'm enjoying just floating along, me and my bean!
Gonna do it though. Definitely.

Hope tomorrows a good day for everyone, see you all there xx

Katiebeau · 29/03/2011 06:02

Morning All - good luck for all of you having scans today.

Off for breakfast. Rubbish nights sleep after finding out my work put me a hotel that doesn't do dinner!!! Up all night retching due to starvation......

Brew needed - if only I could stomach it.

knockedupagain · 29/03/2011 08:44

Clipclop How are you? How did it go? I passed 3 large clots that would have added up to a small apple, and all was still well.

Laabama and Escape FX for good scans today!

Katie Someone else posted that tinned pears in syrup would get bowels moving, and I thought " Oooh, I've a tin lurking in the cupboard from when I read Nigel Slater's 'Toast', which is a food memoir of what we ate in the 70s." Ate half the tin, and it worked a treat. apparently any fruit will do, but it has to be in syrup, not fruit juice. I suspect tinned prunes would be the most efficient mover, but I'm not keen, and now have some tinned apricot halves on standby. I should really be taking iron supplements as I'm a bleeder when birthing - my placentas sort of only half peel away, and blood just leaches out. I needed 6 units when my DD1 was born. After that, they've always opened up a vein as soon as I appeared in labour and they have blood on standby. Don't fancy a home birth! I had one really good midwife once who managed to get it out properly. I'd warned her that it wouldn't come away, and she said "Ha! Never beaten yet!" As she was fiddling she said "Yup, it is a really tricky one, but I can still do it!" And she did. Wish I could have her again. So should be taking iron supplements even this early on, but am only just managing to poo, and iron supplements constipate! Can't remember if constipation is only an issue 1st trimester, or all the way thru. Experiences please ladies? The other thing Katiebeau is to go straight to the loo anytime you feel the urge. I remember a line from Gordon Bourne's 'Pregnancy', which was my pregnancy bible. It says 'The urge to defacate must be obeyed, no matter how inconvenient.' and he's right! Take a book/magazine in, and relax in there!

laabama · 29/03/2011 09:04

Morning all. Thanks for messages.

clipclop - sorry to hear about bleeding. I know how worrying it is, so really sympathise with you. I hope that it all turns out to be ok. Good luck for scan.

Escape - really hope your scan goes well too.

Had pretty bad cramps last night and lot more bleeding than previously, so not feeling quite as positive (read: v v negative!) as when I left A&E y'day. Scan a bit later this morning...

clipclopclipclop · 29/03/2011 09:53

Katie and knockedup i didn't post about the fruit in syrup but I tried it and it works. Last pg I used lactulose that you get at the chemist. Take it daily, it helps soften the stools, lovely! But works

Am calmer today. What will be will be. Scan this afternoon. No more bleeding.

clipclopclipclop · 29/03/2011 09:56

Sorry laabama didn't see your post. Sorry youre feeling so crap. It's hellish isn't it? Fx fir your scan
