I've been away for a few days for my brothers wedding. I've had a read through but for the life of me my pregnancy brain cannot remember half of what has been said.

Knackeredness continuing and on and off sickness. Apart from the hangover symptoms I'll be feeling fine and then have this overwhelming nausea from nowhere and be sick! But still nowhere near as bad as DD's pregnancy. 7+4 today, so I'm assuming if its going to get bad it will be over the next week or so. Anyone else think the days are really long and slow?

laabama thinking of you.

WuzzAndBuddy · 27/03/2011 23:59

Busy busy day, just signing in before bed, will catch up tomorrow, night all xx

goldmaple · 28/03/2011 01:04

Laabama FX for you!

Hello to everyone new.

Just read all the old posts and I am shocked to see that boobs can grow 4 cup sizes... I'm starting at a large B (or C depending on where I am in my cycle). Anyone else start out that size in a pregnancy? What size did your boobs end up?

I'm feeling better than I have been (ms finally not lasting all day), and I don't have to work until next friday (but am training for new business DH and I just started and getting out of old job where I had to drive 1.5hrs too).

Hope everyone has a great week!

Katiebeau · 28/03/2011 08:23

OK lost my post 3 times!! Grr.

Laabama fingers crossed here too, I hope it all works out.

We met my 5 day old nephew this weekend. So lovely. And DD was very caring and sat where she was asked so she could cuddle him. Super photos.

MS horrid. I have to fly today as I am away for 3 days and I'm dreading it. Flying when pregnant with DD was a disaster - always vomiting on the plane and they get really pissy if you are in the loo vomiting whilst they land!!

9+1 today and surprisingly my suit trousers are loose. I say surprisingly as to be honest (TMI I know) if I don't poo soon I may explode. I have been told I can take 10ml lactulose at night but after 10 days of that it isn't cutting the mustard!!! Anyone else suffering, been helped by anything.

I hope you all have a good week. Keep chatting....

WuzzAndBuddy · 28/03/2011 08:43

Morning1

Goldmaple, I started off an average B cup when I was pregnant with DS, they got bigger slowly, but didn't really change cup size, just firmer. Until DS was 3days old and I went from a big B-C to an E... overnight.... Shock
They went back down, to a C cup and stayed that way. So I've started this pregnancy at a C cup, will be interesting to see what happens this time!

Katie good luck with the flying today, hope its not to bad.

And my Nana swears by warm fresh orange juice when you're bunged up! It always works for us! Grin
Worth a try.

clipclopclipclop · 28/03/2011 09:09

Panicking tho!!!

Xx

laabama · 28/03/2011 09:18

Morning all,

Thank you for messages. Got to go and wait for an emergency appointment with GP a bit later this morning, so fingers crossed!

Clipclop - you have my sympathy. Try not to worry too much (says she....) - maybe call your Dr and see what they say?

x

clipclopclipclop · 28/03/2011 09:21

Thanks laabama. Well done for getting a doctors appointment. Fx for you

I'm not at home unfortunately and won't be until Friday, well Thursday evening. Am hundreds of miles away so have to sit tight and hope!
X

TerrysNo2 · 28/03/2011 09:37

Morning all - just a quickie as I'm at work Blush

laabama good luck at docs, I hope the bleed was just a scare and baby is all snug and well. xxx

clipclop when I bled at christmas I was 300 miles away from home but I just googled Early Pregnancy Units and went to the nearest one, they saw me quite quickly and were really good. I don't think you have to wait, unless you want to. FX bleeding stays away for you too!

laabama good luck with the dr

clipclop i'd phone the dr or if you can self refer to epu. just for your own piece of mind.

last night was awful ds woke at 3:30 and didn't go back to sleep.

laabama · 28/03/2011 10:32

clipclop I found this useful yesterday:

www.earlypregnancy.org.uk/default.asp

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 10:38

Hey folks!

Less sick this morning although I have been sick twice so don't think my standards are all that highHmm

clipclop, no practicaly advice as I'm in Ireland so don't know the ins and outs but I would try to phone an EPU and maybe get a scan for reassurance?

laabama Fx for you today!

Truffkin · 28/03/2011 13:29

Hi kids! Hope everyone had good weekends and a big welcome to our new joiners. We've mvoed into a new office today at work so I won't be able to MN as frequently as I have been Sad and am just sneaking on whilst eating my lunch.

I've managed to skim read all of the antics from the weekend, this really is a fast moving thread isn't it? Sorry to hear your MS is so strong Chip and hope things settle down for you Clip and the blood is just 'one of those things' will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

So we went for an early scan on Friday (was 6+1) and it was fabulous. We saw the heartbeat and the sonographer was great, talking us through what we could see on the screen and taking lots of photos and clips for a DVD we got to keep. Everything is fine (there's only one in there!) and I felt so relieved. DH was also really excited about it and asked lots of questions, I think it has helped for it to feel more real for him. We also told his parents and brother who are over the moon (lots of weeping and hugging!) plus my Mom who was just gobsmacked but so happy for us. She was a little Shock when she realised her grandchildren will have doubled in number from last Christmas to this, as my brother's girlfriend is due in July (I have 2 nephews on my side already)

A really lovely weekend all round and money very well spent for us. Looking forward to catching up better when I'm at home later!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/03/2011 13:35

Labaama and clipclop no words of advice really but keeping everything crossed.

In my last pg with DD I started off a B cup and went up to a DD. My milk never came in with DD, so couldn't feed her :( , and they have never really gone down. Currently a D cup but not really saggy (IMO!!).

I have to fly on 11 April to Glasgow and really don't want to - I feel queasy on flights as it is.

I have my dating scan date through - 20 April. Only thing is, I'll only be 10 weeks then. How strange. But anyway, I then have my private nuchal scan on 7 May, so more piccies :)

And have just had more acupucture. Very relaxing, almost fell asleep! Although I've not been sick, I do feel queasy and she said that can be the spleen so focussed a bit on that and other pregnancy friendly sites. I have to say she's good. Am hoping she can help with kick-starting labour when the time comes.

Must have an early night - the clocks going forward have really thrown my energy levels.

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 13:45

MrsA, were you ever given any reason why your milk didn't come in? Was it a stressful birth?

clipclopclipclop · 28/03/2011 14:48

Thanks for the messages everyone, and hope the drs went well this morning laabama

Great news for you truffkin really pleased for you

Well I phoned NHS Direct cos I am still getting it on and off and got a really nice nurse who asked me loads of questions and her take on it was that it was nothing to worry about as it wasn't excessive bleeding (which she said is pads being soaked within 1-3hours) and I have no pain at all. She says it sounds like a show, when your body thinks it should be your period but isnt so your cervix opens up a bit and releases some blood that come out a bit muccousy.

What do you all make of that?

xx

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/03/2011 15:31

clipclop don't really know but it sounds reasonable to me. The past few days I've had ovulation pain and if I'd got my period instead of bfp, I'd be ovulating around now.

chip it was a terribly stressful birth. They induced me because I had strep B and my waters went after a sweep (how I wish I'd refused it). DD wasn't coping with induction and they kept saying we must turn the drip up, but everytime they did her heartrate went down. My current midwife said in that situation they would normally leave things as it was and wait and see. I was less than 24 hrs since waters went and had IV ABs, so I still don't know what the rush was.
Upshot was I ended up with EMCS. I am convinced that DD and my body was just not ready and all the right hormones did not come flooding in.

I got v little bf support afterwards. My midwife saw me once I got home, felt my boobs and said, no your milk hasn't come in. That was about it. It took me weeks to bond with DD and (can you guess) I am still angry about it all.

All I want (aside from healthy baby of course) is a home birth and to bf. Not feeling positive about either tbh.

escapeartist · 28/03/2011 15:57

My Mrs A what a nightmare! I have to say I keep hearing stories here in Greece that make me cringe and we have started discussing coming back to the UK to have this baby (though I keep refusing to think about it fully until past 12 weeks) but that's not so great either...

clipclop sounds very reassuring. You can always call your GP during the week too if you feel unsure, or even visit an Early Pregnancny Unit.

Anyone else getting paranoid when they are feeling well? Have had minimal sickness today (7+2) and my paranoid brain is thinking it's a very bad sign.

Anyone else getting fluctuating sickness and other symptoms? I feel silly to call my gynae about something so small (Especially after the way she looked at me when I asked her if it was normal that my breasts were not hurting as much...)

TerrysNo2 · 28/03/2011 16:06

MrsA not surprised you are angry about it (although assume your DD is still gorgeous and lovely Smile) - I really hope you get a less traumatic and more postive experience this time!

escape I think waves of MS are right, I think last time my symptoms completely went at around 8 weeks. 8+4 now and still feeling very tired and sick. Much more so than with DS.

And I am HUGE, my tummy is ridiculous, I am quite tall and slim but my tummy has always been my problem area and now it seems to have taken any excuse to pop out. I can't wait to tell work as this constant sucking in is not comfortable!

deemented · 28/03/2011 16:23

Hi all,

MrsA - Perhaps it'd be worth seeing if you have a breastfeeding support network where you are? In my area we have one and can go along during pregnancy and after birth and they have breastfeeing midwives available. It's like a big coffee morning, but with yer baps out Wink

Well, i had my 8 week appointment with the midwife today, which was quite... eventful. She's a bit of a tizz, shall i say. She panicked somewhat when i explained my obstetric history - 6th pregnancy, my boys, 3rd degree tear, GD etc. I could see her thinking 'Consultant care' as soon as i mentioned GD. And she ended up ringing the GD midwife who says i have to do my blood sugars for the next week, and if they are above 8 then i'll need to be seen asap. As it is i have to have the GTT at 16 weeks instead of 28.

She's coming to see me on 21st April to book me in properly. Joy.

7+6

laabama · 28/03/2011 16:24

So, Drs was a bit of a farce. Dr herself was fine and said I needed to be referred to EPU today, so she rang EPU who said they'd call me back to arrange and then when they did, said that they couldn't see me until tomorrow, so had a 'debate' with them about whether I needed to go today / tomorrow and was told to go back to Dr who then referred me to A&E. Had ultrasound (x2!) there which has ruled out ectopic pg and seemed to show that there was no bleeding around fetus (although a week less pg than I thought), which is a relief but I now have to go to EPU tomorrow for other scan to check all is def ok. Still bleeding :( but Dr said that it might just be a normal part of the pg. Fx for tomorrow! So 3 trips to Drs and 1 to hospital today! What a day!!!

clipclop - I think that sounds reasonable and I've read about that a few times.

dirgeinvegas · 28/03/2011 16:46

Oh MrsA you should feel positive, I can see no reason from what you've posted which suggests you can't have a hb or be able to bf this time. In my antenatal classes I saw a mum who had an emcs with her dc1. She suffered ptsd afterwards and was so scared of her vbac (although it was what she really wanted). We worked on relaxing her, birth education to understand why her labour didn't progress last time and what she can do to encourage a good birth this time. After 3 weeks she was really looking forward to her labour.

Where are you in the country? I might know someone who can help.

Also, you can go to a bf support group before your baby arrives. LLL love seeing pregnant mums in their meetings and you'll get lots of support and advice and the leader might be able to give you her number so you can call her when your baby arrives.

Terrys I also have a lot of bloating. My family have been patting it saying "oh look at your bump, you're showing already" which is embarrassing because I can feel my uterus and its a good 2 inches lower down from where they're feeling Smile.

escape I also have the fluctuating symptoms. Feel dreadful one minute and then fine the next. I am looking forward to just feeling normal. Lemonade has stopped working now, I am onto Lilt.

ClipClop Thats good news, sounds completely likely to me. I think it's called breakthrough bleeding. I think you can relax.

Truff super news about your scan Smile

katie I think the food aversions/cravings are contributing to my trapped wind/constipation. The pain is awful. I have tried fresh orange juice today but to no effect so far. Are you eating fibre? I really am not so I only have myself to blame.

dirgeinvegas · 28/03/2011 16:47

Oh laa sorry xpost. I'm so you had a drama today. It sounds positive though, don't you think? I think tomorrows scan will be fine and it'll just be one of those things.

dirgeinvegas · 28/03/2011 16:49

Wow Dee does GD kick in that early? I had no idea. My sister had it though and found managing it really tricky.

Listen to this, I am 9 weeks tomorrow which is almost 10 weeks which is 25% the way through pregnancy! Grin

Can you see I am trying to stay positive in the face of morning sickness?

chipmonkey · 28/03/2011 17:12

laabama, that does sound more positive!

MrsA, I'm not surprised you were traumatised by that! And shock can affect milk supply. I remember meeting a Mum in hospital whose dh had upped and left when her baby was a few weeks old. She had successfully bfed all her dc's but as soon as he left, her milk dried up immediately and her LO had to have formula.
