Evening all,

I can't believe how much you lot can talk! Shock

I'm not even going to pretend to know whats going on... I'm just going to congratulate those that need it, be very pleased to see all the heartbeat news and try my very hardest to keep up tomorrow!

EnglishCountryGirl · 23/03/2011 00:33

Room for another? I got my BFP last Thursday and it's our first baby, so VERY excited! But also trying to remain cautious in case it doesn't go to plan since still very early (4+1).

EDD 29/11/11 and glad to see this group is so chatty! Will be interesting to see if we actually have a November baby or a December baby since we are so close to the cusp and have always assumed I will go two weeks over for some reason.

Already have sore boobs and nausea on and off, although wonder if this might be my imagination. Did anyone else feel slightly sick this early on?

Woodifer · 23/03/2011 03:37

wasn't too bad early on countrygirl

but here i am 6+5 up at 3:30am eating ritz crackers - arse.

escapeartist · 23/03/2011 05:16

Congrats all new people! Hope all goes well and you enjoy happy pregnancies!

I am a bit nervous (did I say a bit, what a lie!) as I have got my first scan tonight. I had arranged it for next week, but after loss of boob soreness (they completely deflated) I am very nervous and decided to go early! If it's bad news I'd rather know now than later. I guess the same if it's good news....

No blood, or cramps, but loss of boob sensitivity (which I guess is caused by progesterone... why is my progsterone gone???) I had quite a bit of sickness yesterday from 12 until about 4 and then briefly before dinner too, but thought it was the sick-bug going around school... Who knows.

Sorry for rant. Wish me luck!

deemented · 23/03/2011 08:24

Good luck, escapeartist!!

mrsa - I'm a larger lady myself, and had my boys by EMCS. When i was pregnant with DD i opted for a VBAC despite lots of pressure from consultant to say otherwise. In the end, i did get my vbac - she was 10lb 2oz, back to back, with just gas and air. However, i spent all my labour flat on my back hooked up to a bloody monitor and ended up with a 3rd degree tear, which i believe would have been avoided if i'd been allowed to be mobile. When i then went on to have my DS3, i again opted for a VBAC, and actually ended up changing my consultant when he laughed at my suggestion of an active birth, and told me 'Oh i'll wear you down yet!' I did have a VBAC, but i developed GD and was induced at 39 weeks.

welcome, ImBrian - i totally understand where you're coming from WRT worrying about what people will say - Manshape and i have a 14 month old DS, and we've been together two years last month - you do the maths. I worried and fretted, but it was all ok.

I spoke to my midwife last night - i'm provisionally booked in and have to go see her next Monday for it all to be formal. I'm still cramping lots, but no more spotting, so fingers crossed everythings ok on the scan tomorrow.

Katiebeau · 23/03/2011 08:33

Good luck Demented for tomorrow.

Our scan yesterday was good - 8+2 which throws me back to October 31st DDate. Can I stay in this group though please, my DD was 3 days late and I started induction a day before she was due!!

Heartbeat, yolk sac, good membrane and they told us which ovary the egg had come from!!!!! Told my family but not hubbys as SIL has just delived a lovely nephew and we don't want to steal their moment.

Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed for no :( faces and we all get to keep our precious gifts.

Katiebeau · 23/03/2011 08:34

escape - how did it go. FX and toes too.

ImBrian · 23/03/2011 09:13

Thanks for the reassurance :) Just been to see a lovely doctor who I managed to burst into tears in front of but she was great. DP is overjoyed at the pregnancy, I have mixed feelings mainly because of others reactions and the huge amount of stuff we need to sort out ie. getting a house together! Im 100% sure it will all work out ok in the end though :)
The docs booked me in to see the mw for 3 weeks time as they like to see you at 8/9 weeks.
Lovely news for al the people who have had scans with hb :) I had a private scan with my last dd due to a mmc and it was so reassuring seeing it. wouldnt mind one this time but we'll see.

TerrysNo2 · 23/03/2011 09:59

Morning all

katie of course you can stay!! Fab news on a lovely little bean, I think after 8 weeks the risk of MC goes down so much so you must be chuffed!

Welcome to newbies - Imbrian, Englishcountrygirl (you're going to need to tell us a shortened nickname as its v long to type and the only one I can think of is a bit rude Grin!!) and anyone else I've missed! Congratulations!!!

woodifer Angry at reminding me ritz crackers exist - now I am at work and can't get to the shop until lunchtime. Damn you!! Wink (when I was in labour with DS I munched through a whole box while the HB MW looked at me in disgust and recommended something "more healthy" Smile)

Happy days all, its beautiful out there!

Woodifer · 23/03/2011 10:51

wiping a bit of brown when i just been for a wee (hope bean is OK)

had really severe cramp pain yesterday evening, that made me literally come out in a sweat and feel faint - but it went away and i thought it might be to do with being constipated Blush

lawks a mercy its a rollercoaster ride!

TerrysNo2 · 23/03/2011 11:14

Woodifer have you already had a scan? How far along are you? AFAIK brown is old and old is ok! Try not to worry !

OP posts:
WuzzAndBuddy · 23/03/2011 11:23

Morning all!
I've made it on here before bedtime! Woohoo!

Isn't it beautiful outside today!?
I hope the lovely weather lifts some spirits and fills people with positive thoughts.

Escape I hope things go well this evening, what time is your scan?

I feel like I'm so far behind you lot.
I haven't even told my GP I'm pregnant yet, just feel I'm tempting fate if I rush in, just want to enjoy this feeling of being pregnant without making it all official and getting into the system.
With my miscarriage in November I got a phonecall from the midwife about a week after, she was calling to book my dating scan Sad
Then, the week between Christmas and New Year (bearing in mind DH is away, we weren't having the best Christmas anyway) the same midwife called at 11am to see if everything was ok as I'd missed my dating scan at 10.30 Hmm Sad
Just sat and cried for the rest of the day.
Think I haven't told them yet for that reason....

I think I'm going to wait til a week on Monday, the day after my birthday, and then go to the GP, a birthday treat! Grin

Woodifer · 23/03/2011 11:23

6+5 today

no scan in my area until 12 weeks - thanks Terrys! xx

bumpsnowjustplump · 23/03/2011 11:43

morning all. Trying so hard to study but getting no where.. grrrr

TerrysNo2 · 23/03/2011 12:36

Wuzz just thinking about your name, should it be *WuzzandBoody"?!?! Grin

OP posts:
WuzzAndBuddy · 23/03/2011 12:46

Yeah it should terrys but that just sounds weird... don't you think? I did wonder how I should spell it.....

dirgeinvegas · 23/03/2011 13:24

woodifer I have been suffering those exact same cramps. I put them down to trapped wind too as theyre just too high to be baby. I will quietly admithere that when I was about 32 weeks with DD I was admitted to hospital for severe cramps. I literally couldn't move, I was doubled over on the floor. I was terrified it was early labour but the registrar diagnosed trapped wind. She even drew a little picture of my distended bowel in my notes for all to see.

Of course, I'd already called my mum and work in a panic saying I wouldn't be so when I was discharged an hour later everyone wanted to know what the problem was. I told them it was a UTI. I just couldn't face the truth! Grin Blush

And today I fainted in them village shop (we only have 1, they know my name and address and DD's name. So not at all embarrassing!). I had to call DH to pick us up. He is beside himself with panic now and wants me to call the midwife but I don't think I need to. Would anyone else bother? It's just one of those things isn't it?

woodifer I am Queen of the brown-wipe and all is fine here but if you're worried then call your midwife/GP. EPAU have told me they'll keep scanning me if I have anymore brown, for reassurance because "it's a long wait to the 12 week scan".

Katie hope you will stick around, my EDD is 1/11/11 but I was early with DD and I contemplated joining October's thread but thought they'll be a month further ahead with the chat and bonding so it'll be nicer to stay in Nov!

Woodifer · 23/03/2011 13:26

Ooh thanks Dirge - having nearly wiped myself bald with all the checking - all clear at mo - glad its all normal :)

Sibella1 · 23/03/2011 13:30

Hi everyone,

Me again, I had my scan on Friday and all is well - was 7 weeks and 1 day and there was a hearbeat!!

Now I'm even more confused because if I'm only seven weeks (which matches a normal 28 day cycle perfectly) it means that the little sperm must have been swimming about for about five days before I ovulated!!

Otherwise I'm good, still sicky and tired and can't stand going near my kitchen but getting used to it. Last night in class at my course my gums started bleeding profusely and swallowing blood while feeling sick is not pleasant but unfortunately I had no choice!

Otherwise I'm preparing teaching practices for my course, organising DD2's 5th birthday party and planning our move to Australia... nothing much!!

Oh yes I got an early scan by asking my GP if I could organise private scan as I'm confused about my dates and she said it's fine I can have one early scan on the NHS - lucky me!!

Woodifer · 23/03/2011 13:33

Oh Dirge meant to add - if you fainted might be worth having your blood pressure checked. xx

TerrysNo2 · 23/03/2011 13:53

Sibella yay for little bean. If you had sex 5 days before so you know your dates I wonder if you will be having a girl?? They say boy sperm dies quickly as they have short attention spans and can't be bothered to hang around so long but girl sperm is patient and tougher - sound about right huh!! Grin

Wuzz it does sound wierder but I think you got it right, now everyone knows what you were intending even if its not gramatically (??) correct! Smile

Dirge fainting as a one off is ok I reckon but I would hot foot it to GP's if it happens again. Otherwise call trusty NHS direct and see what they say (I predict it would be "go to your GP, just in case")

Truffkin · 23/03/2011 14:21

Hi ladies , am loving the beautiful sunshiney day today!

I have read over the thread since I was last on here but can't possibly name check everyone otherwise I'll be here for the whole of my lunch break (am taking peoper breaks now to eat my healthy preggo lunches!) but Escape come back and let us know how you got on later!

I will reply to Mash though as ther reason we are going for our early scan on Friday is exactly what you have said. We'll be in Birmingham on Friday for a family wedding that afternoon so have booked in here for our scan. I spent ages a while on Google searching and then calling places to see who I felt most comfortable with! The lady here has been lovely and when the original sonographer cancelled her clinic, she called around and got us someone else as she knew we were travelling up from London and couldn't re-book for another day. I think I'll be very excited on Friday morning!

Hello to our newcomers and congratulations! Imagine in 7-8 months' time when we are all announcing the arrival of our newborns

I saw my GP yesterday and she was pretty useless. Apparently they don't refer me to a midwife nor to a hospital / birth unit. I have to call around, decide where I want to go and then refer myself and do all of the booking for scans and appointments myself too. I was a bit Shock at the fact that she couldn't even offer an opinion about the hospitals and birth centres in our locale! She took my BP, tested for protein and weighed me but when I started asking questions she was compeltely disinterested. I asked about taking antihistamines when pregnant and she said 'oh yes that's fine, you can take most over the counter medication without a problem' I said I thought it wasn't advised and was asking about alternatives (as I'm very allergic to lots of things!) so she said 'well, it probably won't cause a miscarriage but if the manufacturer recommends not taking it then you probably shouldn't' - useless!

I am also starting to regret moaning about having no symptoms as I have felt constantly nauseous for 24 hours now. No amount of snacking on dry foods, healthy foods, fruit, sipping water, crackers, ginger biscuits etc etc has made a difference so yippee! (I kind of like having a permanent reminder of my little padawan though Grin)

Happy Wednesday people, we're halfway through the week!

dirgeinvegas · 23/03/2011 14:33

ROFL at "wiped myself bald" woodifer Grin

Hadn't thought about BP, I'll mention it to the midwife at my booking in appointment in 3 weeks.

dirgeinvegas · 23/03/2011 14:37

Oh sorry you're feeling shit Truffkin. I discovered that sucking on Murray mints helps immensely. With DD it was sour fruit sherberts from M&S. I recommend trying the mints.

I am also very Shock that you have to self-refer - what a decision to make so early on. Can you ask friends for their opinion?

WuzzAndBuddy · 23/03/2011 15:17

Off into town with DS (on scooter Hmm), its late in the day and I really can't be bothered but I can't stay in all day on a day like this!
