Hi Ses, hope you're able to take it easy again today.

No-one needs to read this, but I just want to shout from the rooftops - I weigh under 11 stone for the first time in 5 years today! It's my early bday pressie to myself, I feel like I have a chance of reaching my goal by the time DS is 5 and I feel like the changes I'm making, I'll be able to stick with. Sorry for me post, but yay me.

Move along please, nothing to see here Grin

Starshinetiger · 05/06/2011 08:05

Good morning all. Just been reading my cuPcake recipe book to decide what cakes to bake for today (probably Crimson Velveteen cupcakes I think). Anyway, have come across a new emoticon ideal for our thread: [|}

It's a cupcake emoticon - fantastic for when chocolate brownies are required Grin I should reference it appropriately I think -

We need at least a couple of those today to wish both you and tink happy birthday :)

Hope you're both being spoilt!

Raining here. I'm just off to Tesco for a few bits. DH has said he'd like roast chicken for tea.

Oh I keep forgetting to ask about a cheap(ish) easy fold lightweight buggy that reclines. Any suggestions? I guess e-bay may be worth trying but I don't really know where to start!

tinkbig · 05/06/2011 18:54

thankyou ladies yummy cupcakes [|} [|} [|}

had a great birthday Grin

went to bstke spent bday money bought trainers, clothes and jewellery had yummy lunch in pizza hut and yummy baskin robbins icecream and millies cookies later

hotcrossSES · 05/06/2011 20:48

Sounds like a great day tink :)

I'm sorry but I'm feeling a bit :( this evening. I went out to Tesco this afternoon - my first trip out sonce ERPC and it kind of suddenly hit me. The rest of the world was carrying on as if nothing had changed and so much had changed with me. I know it's usual feelings of grief but I was just taken aback how suddenly it hit me. Then this evening on FB, one of my NCT friends has posted how she only has 2 and a bit weeks left at work before her ML starts. I remember when she told me she was pg and I was so Envy ( Blush ) but didn't think I'd be in this position by the time she came to give birth :(
I just want to cry but that won't really achieve anything. Not many people know this time round what's happened but I'll try and give my BF a ring later. In the meantime, my mum wants me to call her so I'll need to pretend everything's fine as there's no way I want her to know (she'll fuss and make me feel worse).

Bbbbllllllleeeeeuuuuurrrrggggghhhh! Sorry but at least you guys understand!

Starshinetiger · 05/06/2011 23:44

Ses, so sorry you've had a tough day. Hope you had a good chat with BF and that DH can be there for you. I don't think there is anything I can say, but am thinking of you Sad hope tomorrow brings a brighter day. Remember you are never alone - footprints in the sand.

hotcrossSES · 06/06/2011 07:47

Thank you Star :)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 06/06/2011 15:26

Hi All

Ses- sorry you were feeling down yesterday. I hope that you had the roast dinner cooked for you in the end and you are being looked after. Personally, I think its good to cry as it can be so cathartic and it's important to grieve- I know its personal to each and every person though. Look after yourself x

Star- wow, fab news on the wt loss. Sounds like you have some great changes in place now. :)

Hi Tink- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! how was your bday?

x

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/06/2011 15:28

Afternoon, not been on in a while, been a bit hectic.

Ses- hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. You know you can spill everything here, even when you dont even want a response, or font even know what you wanna offline about, the wagon will always be here with an open ear. (and brownies too) :)

Star- happy birthday for sat, hope your [|} were nice.

Tink- happy birthday to you too for sat. Sounds like you had a nice day.

We went to the zoo on sat, my birthday trip out, not my actual bday till next sat, but we're at my cousins wedding so can't do anything on the actual day. My mum, mmm & nephew came, as did my friends and surro-baby, and we took ds's friend and dd1's friend too... Was loads of fun! Spent ages slathering all the kids in suncream but forgot to put some on myself, still stinging today with sunburn! :(

Spent nearly 3hrs gardening today, I'm clearing the bedding area (which is just super overgrown grass) and going to lay some decorative bark instead, killed me pulling grass out, but our strimmer has broken :( considering just mowing it... Actually might go do it now. :) while I'm in the mood!

GingerbreadGiraffe · 06/06/2011 15:45

Star- apologies, HB to you too xxx

tinkbig · 06/06/2011 19:20

ses sure how u r feeling is normal thinking of u
cant sounds great

hotcrossSES · 06/06/2011 20:25

Thank you ladies - the wagon certainly feels like it has a nice comfy sofa with brownies available as needed :)
I am feeling brighter today. Work was a good distraction again with not too much on. Just feel a bit delicate and sad but we'll get there!

Cant - you're right, sometimes it's good to just type and let it all come out even if I'm not sure what I want to say!
Your trip to the zoo sounds good. It's ages since I've been to a decent zoo. We got a free family pass to Paultons Park through via my SIL the other day though ( tink - is that near you? Have you been?). We'll have to try and use it later in the summer.

Giraffe - you're right too about having a good cry being a bit cathartic. Sometimes the tears just don't come at a convenient time!

Oh by the way, in the middle of all this does anyone have any buggy advice? Is a Mclaren worth the money and if so which one? Or any other suggestions?

GruffaloSoldier · 06/06/2011 21:26

Hi all,

sorry that I have been AWOL!

SES I am so sorry that you have had to go through all of this. sorry I haven't posted before now. dont really know what to say but glad the rest of the wagon came through for you!so glad you are feeling brighter now.

Happy belated birthday Tink and Star! :)

hello to cant, giraffe anyone else lurking!

We are at last in our new house and it is WONDERFUL! It is so nice to have the space and the garden and GC just loves it. He completely took the move in his stride, despite all the change he is facing at the moment. GC2 is 6 weeks old now and we are still exclusively breastfeeding so am feeling really pleased with myself!:) got my 6 week check tomorrow.

We have had lots going on - newborn/new house DH got promoted, I have a new job for after maternity leave at consultant level - quite a step up for me - and I will only work the odd 3 hour day every few weeks and work around DH's hours, and some evening home work. Might still do my original job along side that I did last year but Im not sure yet. But lots of good stuff happening at last!

Anyway have rambled enough!

I will try and get on here a bit more regularly but there is always so much to do at the momeny - arghhhhhh!

afternoon

hi ses x
hi gruff everything sounds great with you Grin

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/06/2011 10:32

Ses- of all the buggys I've had I've never had a maclaren. I believe they are fab tho.
Depending on how much ds walks now and if you want to use it for possibly another dc in the future I'd say its a go-er. I love m&p for little buggies once they're wanting to walk a fair bit. But I've never used any pushchair for more than 1 child. I currently have am&p look from argos and its really good. I want be buying another buggy now. :)

Hope you're doing ok. :)

Spent yesterday doing the front garden, just about finished before tea. :)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 08/06/2011 19:24

Hi Gruff - great to hear from you :) things sound great, but busy. Will reply to your FB msg!

Cant- you really are the buggy queen of the wagon! Gardening sounds good. Got some beds at giraffetowers that need a weed if you run out of things to do at home Wink

Ses- I dont know much about maclarens except I've heard they are bigger and heavier than i expected. I was also suprised at the cost of them new!

My friend has a zapp that is really light and folds up well. Not sure it reclines though. think you have to have a petit star to get reclining (very similar to zapp I think) but Im sure someone will correct me.

Anyway, how are you feeling today?

Hi everyone else x

tinkbig · 08/06/2011 21:23

evening

i have mamas and papas pipi is really gd

Diege · 09/06/2011 08:54

Hello! Back from Whitby - had a lovely time though very full-on with ds aking 6ish and on the go till 8ish pm. My sickness also returned but I think that was partly due to the extra tiredness. Seems fine now although was very sick this morning Hmm
On the buggy front, I have a Maclaren and quite impressed. It does recline and also has a pull-over sunshade, it's also quite roomy seat-wise. My only complaint is that compared to the zapp I have, it does seem quite heavy, but then the zapp is a dream to manouevre (but doesn't recline). On balance, if I was to buy either I'd go with the Maclaren.
Looking forward to London - not long now!

Rugbylovingmum · 09/06/2011 11:57

Hi all,

I've been lurking but generally too tired to be able to think of anything to write - C has suddenly decided that 4.30am is time to get up and I am not adjusting well Sad.

We were all up at my parents this weekend as it was my dads 60th birthday Grin. It was a great weekend but it wasn't restful. I finally met my new baby niece and she is just an angel Grin, very relaxed and chilled out. C and my older niece had a ball running around hand in hand getting into mischief - it was lovely to see them really playing together now that C is a bit older. My dad loved having all his grandchildren there and hopefully it was a good birthday. He didn't want too much fuss - he's saving it for his 65th and retirement!

Diege - glad you had a good hol and hopefully the sickness will ease off again once you get some sleep.

Ses - I've been thinking of you. I have no idea about buggies - I kept meaning to buy a lightweight one for C but she just demands to walk everywhere so we are managing with the carrier and the Britax on the few occasions we need it.

Gruff - hooray for the new house and well done on the bfing!

Hi ginger, cant, tink, star - sorry I can't remember anything else, my rain is mushed!
