hope u r ok ses

Checking in

hotcrossSES · 25/05/2011 19:58

Hello all - hope you've had great days. It's been lovely and sunny here.

Had a bit of an emotional morning but was out and about with O at Jo Jingles and soft play so tried to hold it together.

Then this afternoon had a meeting for work which was great distraction again. Just started bleeding again but not sure if this is "it" or just another bleed IYKWIM.

Thanks for all your support. I'm not really strong - I'm just not sure I've got much other option. Collapsing in floods of tears won't really achieve anything and I really don't want work or my mum to find out. Work because I'm keeping my career options open with development for promotion and my mum just because she won't understand and will just fuss.

I think I will phone my brother and SIL this evening as planned and go at the weekend. Will maybe phone them in a minute and get it done...

Hope all is well with everyone else - what's going on with you?!

GingerbreadGiraffe · 25/05/2011 20:14

Hi everyone,

Ses- your morning sounds good. Nice to have a day off with DS, even if you did have to work today. Your approach is very pragmatic. You know there is always a spot on the wagon sofa (next to the tea pot and plate of brownies) so we will keep it open for you. xx

Sorry to hear the bleeding has started again. Hope its not giving you pain though. Weeekend sounds good, will be a lovely break. I love the lakes.

Tink- any update on your DD1 concerns?

I had a question for you all about potty training. DD is very switched on regarding nappies and what she is doing but TOTALLY refuses to sit on a potty without a nappy. Will happily do so full dressed.
Knowing my small giraffe, she willl decide when she is ready and just do it very quickly, so we've decided to stop asking her and park the subject for a while. Do you think this is the right approach?

xx

GingerbreadGiraffe · 25/05/2011 20:21

Also, can anyone remind me how far before TTCing you need to start taking the vits. I really cant remember.

Not starting to TTC yet, but just wanted to think about it and get used to idea!

hotcrossSES · 25/05/2011 20:40

Giraffe - best to start the vitamins 3 months before TTC.
As for potty training, we're definitely not there yet with O but from what you've said, your instincts sound good and I would wait and be led by her.

GingerbreadGiraffe · 25/05/2011 20:41

Thank you Ses.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 25/05/2011 21:02

Ses, hope the phonecall went ok. :) having something to do over the weekend may be a good distraction from hormones etc :)

Giraffe- we're in the same boat re, potty... Dd has just started to sit on hers with clothes etc, still wont consider when naked... She knows when she's weeing and dirtying her nappy... We're taking the same approach as it sounds you are. Having done it twice with the other two not being phased by it at all it seems a bit more of a challenge, but it'll be worth it when we get there. :)

tinkbig · 25/05/2011 21:20

evening lovely ladies Grin

ses - bless you today glad you had distractions so sorry for more bleeding
good luck with phonecall !!

hi ginger i was going to say 3 mnths for vits too i have a good memory
not potty training here yet
dd2 will tell me when she has done a poo and will sit on potty with no nappy but not for long and hasnt done anything yet
with dd1 i tried she wasnt getting it so left if for another month hen tried again
i am going to try dd2 next week while i am at home and see how she gets on
thanks ginger for asking about dd1 seeing teacher for a quick meeting tomorrow after school to discuss are concerns
dr is on friday afternoon
getting hamster after school tom Grin

hotcrossSES · 25/05/2011 21:29

Phonecall went fine thanks. SIL answered the phone and she (as I thought) didn't ask any questions and just accepted it.

Bleeding seems a bit heavier so I'm kind of hoping it will all be over and done with soon. Only 1 meeting scheduled for tomorrow which I can get out of if necessary. I'm just not sure what to expect in terms of bleeding, pain etc.

Tink - hope your meeting with teacher and getting hamster go well tomorrow. Have you got a name for the hamster?

ChocolateBrownieGuilt · 25/05/2011 21:38

glad the call went ok.
Regarding what to expect, look at some old threads on the subject- there are loads that talk about the experience of miscarriage at different stages.

Thanks Cant and Tink on potty training- glad we arent the only ones not jumping into it at 2 years!

GingerbreadGiraffe · 25/05/2011 21:39

Bugger, that has outted my other posting name.

Whoops.

:-S

Starshinetiger · 25/05/2011 22:46

Hi all - Ses, been thinking of you - you are doing brilliantly. Glad you have made a decision re. The weekend. Hope you can enjoy it.
Tink - hope appt with teacher goes well.
Re. Potty training, can't add anything - agree that they all just get it at some stage and they're then ready to go.
Ginger - your last post made me laugh!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 26/05/2011 10:11

Ginger- I have some pregnacare left over, still with a good date on it... Would you like them? About 5 weeks worth I think. Can post it no problems.
Also, forgot to add that although they 'say' girls are quicker than boys at potty training ds was fully potty trained at 2.2y, dd1 wasn't potty trained till 2.8y and dd2 is now 2.3y and I expect she'll not be potty trained till about the same age as dd1... I'm in no rush really as she wont start nursery till Sept 2012.... Plenty of time till she needs to be out of nappies.

I've just managed to put a massive box of nappies (how topical) down in my toe, the corner went into the bit of skin that joins your nail to your toe and has ripped quite deep into it! :( Bloody killing me!

Rugbylovingmum · 26/05/2011 10:52

Hi all,

Ses - thinking of you. I hope that the weekend goes well.

Ginger (or should I say chocbrownieguilt Grin) - thanks for reminding me about vitamins, I had totally forgotten Blush.

Cant - ouch!

Tink - have fun hamster shopping. I have been considering getting DD a rabbit. She is very nervous of all animals except the nursery tortoise - she loves watching them but gets scared easily when they move. When we go to the petting farm she really wants to stroke the animals but is too nervous. I thought a pet might help, she loves rabbits and they are fairly easy to keep.

Hi Diege, Star, Latour

tinkbig · 26/05/2011 11:42

Morning all.
Glad meeting went well Tink - sorry that it does mean there are things need addressing.
Happy Birthday Diege (you can't sneak that one past us!) Hope you have a great day.
Happy Friday to everyone else. I have sooooo much to do today at work today, so I am procrastinating Hmm!! I'm sure someone on here had a good phrase for this - overload paralysis or something?!
Ses - still thinking of you, hope you do have a lovely weekend with family (is it DB and SIL, or BIL and SIL - sorry, couldn't remember).
Hi Rugby, Giraffe, Can't and anyone else lurking...

GingerbreadGiraffe · 27/05/2011 11:27

Morning Star - I too regularly suffer from that overload paralysis. So much to do cant decide where to start! Am suffering now too!

Diege- Happy Bday! I saw that too and thought it was worth a mention.

Tink- glad you are getting assistance for DD1. Daisy sounds cute :) Do you have pics on Facebook?

Ses- how are things with you?
