cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/05/2011 09:19

morning.

Ses- Happy Birthday to DS, hope you have a lovely day today. :)

been a bit busy here- trying to get the girls a bunk bed so i can get DD2 into the DC's room... i want to get her out of our room now she's in a big bed...

have tried ebay for a cheap and cheerful one for now, as my parents are getting the girls a new bunk bed for xmas... but i'm wondering if i should cut my losses and just put her in there in her cotbed for now... just can't decide...

think my broodines is starting to subside a little... not that i dont want dc4, but its not the most important thing in the world to me over the last few days.... bloody hormones eh? DH was right that out of no-where i'd calm down on the idea!! Grin

Are we set on 23rd then? if so i'll get my tickets booked.... can anyone tell me what zone tube tickets i'll need to buy too? :)

Also Diege- let me know about Liverpool so i can plan my trip...

Diege · 09/05/2011 10:21

Hi! Just a quickie as catching train for work trip in an hr, but wanted to confirm with CANT that I'm on for the Liverpool trip (21st May?)
I am also presuming 23rd July is confirmed now?
Happy brithday to SES's Owen - can't believe that little baby is a toddler!
Oh bunkbeds, some great deals in Argos, but if you're holding on cotbed might be indeed the thing?
Right, better go, back weds x

cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/05/2011 11:39

Diege, yes 21st for Liverpool. Think the train were getting will get us into Liverpool lime st station (where we met last time) for about 10am.

Diege · 09/05/2011 13:17

Great! Think our train gets in 10.30 ish, but will check when back from work thing and let you know.
Right, better get going - 'see' you weds!

hotcrossSES · 09/05/2011 14:06

Thanks for O's happy birthday wishes - we've had a great weekend and day today. I think tomorrow will come as a shock when he suddenly doesn't have presents and cards to open!

I'm pretty sure 23rd is fine with me so let's go for it

cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/05/2011 16:02

Right, I'm booking tickets for the train- ses do you know what zone tube ticket I'll need to buy to get me to diana's memorial park?

cantmummyhaveabreak · 09/05/2011 18:50

really sorry but i'm gonna have to pull out of the London meet up for now. Looks like DH could loose his job at any point really, loads of the managing directors and regional managers have lost their jobs in the last week... DH is gonna start job hunting, and if he looses his job i'll get a job asap too but it looks like we'll most likely have to sell the house and get a council house as there are very few jobs here in the same earning bracket as DH is currently on!! :( So as it stands we only want to live week by week where money is concerned to save every penny possible... So I can't really bring myself to book tickets now. Will keep you posted, but we're just keeping everything crossed.

tinkbig · 09/05/2011 22:03

Starshinetiger · 11/05/2011 10:41

Veeerrry quiet on here....
Can't - sorry to hear about DH's job worries. Is tought isn't it - my DH had a restructure at work earlier this year and had to reapply for his own job (luckily he got it). Hope things turn out well for your DH - glad you could put a smile back on his face though. Sorry you won't be able to make meet up - had been looking forward to meeting you! Agree with Tink - I would stick with cotbed for now if you can squeeze it in, given you are getting bunkbeds from your parents for Christmas (I know how tempting it is to want to sort now though).

So, have an ad to place... AF gone AWOL... anyone who spots it, please let me know so I can get it back!!! Don't have a spot on cycle, but it's usually between 26-28 days - hasn't been more than that since last June. Based on 28 day cycle, I'm 3 days late, based on 26 (average for last 4 months), I'm 5 days late. 2 pg tests later, both are negative and I'm totally in the dark as to what's going on with my body. Last month's cycle was 23 days... maybe I'm going into an early menopause?! Confused... I'm only 36!! Anyway, just in case anyone wants to reassure me. I don't mind not having AF, but am a bit perturbed about what's going on!

Hope you're all having good weeks.
Bumps - thanks for suggestion, I agree that that park looks like a great idea.

GingerbreadGiraffe · 12/05/2011 06:55

Hi
Sorry have been AWOL

23rd sounds good- will double check but think OK
Cant- sorry for DH job worries, hope its sorts out ok. I'd agree with keeping cotbed now and wait- the bunks will be lovely treat at xmas and exciting :)

Star- sorry for missing AF- how really odd. Have you been under stress?
Talking of which, I've got a great iphone app for tracking it- not sure i'd ever remember dates without it, it even tells me when im likely to be fertile. :)

Tink- new laptop sounds good :)

Ses - how are you going? have your PILs left yet? Are you feeling ok?

Hi Diege, Rugby, Gruff, Bumps,

Starshinetiger · 12/05/2011 08:39

Morning Giraffe - yes, I have that iphone app! Hence why I know so much about my cycle - maybe it would be better if I didn't! DH is ready to book his GP appointment to take care of the possibility of any accidents GrinWink
Hope you're all having good days!

Moosy · 12/05/2011 12:54

Sorry about your DH's job Can't - hope it all works out ok. Shame you can't make the meet up too, I was looking forward to meeting you.

Star, how odd about your mystery cycle, is there any possibilty you could be about to HONK? Wink

tinkbig · 12/05/2011 13:18

Afternoon
Star not seen ur af will keep an eye out
I was going 2 say stress

Hi 2 everyone else

Quite day here
Spoke 2 nursery and dd2 can start nursery in jan 2012 instead of sept
2012
Really happy

Starshinetiger · 12/05/2011 14:01

Am pinning my hopes on stress (although that should have affected my cycle in the last 6 months more than this one, as I was off work for 2 weeks this month enjoying some lovely sun in the garden with the DC).
Moos - really hoping it's not a honk - it's 2 weeks since we paid a deposit on our flights to Australia to see my DB, DSIL and DN at end of December - aaaagh!! At the very mention of the thought, DH is ready to book an appt with our GP for the snip :)
Am now overreading everything to do with my body - getting lots of sensations in my abdomen, which are probably pre-menstrual cramps and if I could just relax AF might arrive. Is rather perturbing, since the only times I can remember missing a cycle in the last 10 years have been due to pg...
Will give it a couple more weeks before talking to GP I think. I guess for some people this is common, but I do have a fairly regular cycle.
Right, will try not to clog up the thread with me, me, me.

Giraffe - glad you can hopefully make meet up. Looking forward to it.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 12/05/2011 14:53

Right... I may make the meet-up after all. Thinking of driving to in-laws on the Friday evening then just getting the tube on the Saturday morning. I'll most likely bring both girls as DH plans to take ds to the museums for the day with his mum.

His job is looking a little more secure still. Doesn't stop us worrying but its looking much more positive than the other day.

diege - were still good for US on the 21st. DH is coming too as he has the weekend off work, taking the kids to a farm on the Sunday too so will be a good fun-filled weekend!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 12/05/2011 19:19

Star- I've had a few scares with af going awol for a week or so and I'm normally (down to the hour) regular!

Just took the kids out for pizza for tea, they enjoyed it. Strange that whenever I do a big food shop I always get overwhelmed with food and we have take-away that night! Sadly that spoils my diet 3 days in... Have so far lost 3lb in as many days tho... So I'll have most likely put it back on tomorrow! :)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 12/05/2011 20:27

HI
Star- hope it sorts itself out.. Could just be one of those things...
Strangely I am in a similar boat- well, my iphone app says AF due today, nothing. None of my usual pre-spotting, no pains etc. I really not thinking about it yet (much!) but im hoping its just a long cycle and it was a late ovulation...

Cant- glad you might be able to make it :)

Starshinetiger · 12/05/2011 20:53

These iPhone apps have a lot to answer for I say GG!!! Grin
Keep thinking I'm getting premenstrual symptoms, but nothing. DH actually saw GP today re snip and GP is going to get back to him. Sorry for me me me posts, is just very odd and I am obsessing!
Shall keep fingers crossed re. Meet up Can't - very glad to hear things are looking more positive re DH's job - do I recall you saying he's been up for promOtion in the last year? They're not likely to want to get rid of their top people who they see having a future with the company.
Meant to say - thanks for your reassuring post Can't. Shall hold on to that!

tinkbig · 12/05/2011 21:10

Star sounds interesting I had abdominal pulling when
Pregnant with dd2

Hi can't glad things abit more positive

I received 30 day shred dvd today
Did my first session after lunch not 2 bad

Had a nice quite day today

hotcrossSES · 12/05/2011 21:14

Star - I'm not suprised you're obsessing. I've not seen your AF though but hope it turns up for you soon. I know in my early twenties I had it disappear for about a week to 10 days and really worried. It seemed the more I thought about it, the more stubborn AF became to stay away.

Giraffe - same goes for you.

Cant - glad there's now more positive news re DH's job. Star is right about the fact they'll want to keep their top performers.

tink - great news about DD2 starting nursery!

I've had a few days of feeling really rubbish which is kind of reassuring I suppose! Grumbling nausea but worse than that is the tiredness. The combination is making me crave small quantities of rubbish carbs.
I was so tired last night, my whole body ached and then when I woke up this morning I still ached Hmm DH away tonight so I've been naughty and had pizza takeaway and will head off to bed soon. I guess the business of last weekend may not have helped and hopefully that should ease off now. ILs left on Tuesday.

Starshinetiger · 12/05/2011 21:57

Thanks Ses for your reassurance re. late AF. Sorry to hear you are feeling rough - hope DS grants you a good night's sleep while DH is away. Think pizza is totally justified after the hectic week you've had.

Tink - not sure I want to listen to what you said [sticks fingers firmly in ears and wanders off, singing "la, la, la"] GrinWink

Still - has forced the open conversation between DH and me - he has always been in the no more DC camp, I have wavered to and fro, according to hormonal status. This evening he was quite sweet. I said "if i'm pg..." and he said "we'll love it lots and lots" (it would never be a question of whether to keep it). But we have agree to focus our love and attention on DS and DD if I'm not and stick with the two. So, let's see what my body decides to do now! I think DH might feel quite hard done by if I am, as I'm not sure he's had that much action this month and what he has had was nothing near my fertile window as far as I'm concerned...

Tink - good news about DD2's nursery place. Well done you on 30 day shred - I really need my rocket up my bum to do some exercise!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 12/05/2011 22:08

Star- if you didn't gof near of then v.unlikely to be pg imo! Just wear your best undies tomorrow it'll come! :)

As for DH and his job... Its not about performance, he is a store manager, promoted to a larger store last August... So not a question of his performance, from the amount of high up jobs that have been cut it looks like the company aren't making the money to keep them... So the worry is that the company is loosing money and may have to cut its losses and shut down... HOWEVER the big-wigs are saying its meerly re-structuring the company... Hmm

tinkbig · 13/05/2011 10:47

morning

had a nice time in town this morning

my mum is 60 today Grin
she is over tom as dh is photographing a wedding
bought some face packs to do and yummy bits for lunch some quiche and m and s cakes

cantmummyhaveabreak · 13/05/2011 14:06

Well I had my post- natal check this morning, all seems ok, booked for a smear on the 27th... First time! Also got the pill so I'll be back on that soon... I must defo be getting over the broodiness as it hadn't crossed my mind to be on the pill till a couple of days ago.

Put dd2 for her nap after lunch as usual, then she woke after half an hour screaming! Really upset, tears and everything... She's now sat in the middle of the living room cuddling her blanket looking very tired!

Have been trying to get her used to a potty, done the usual- let her run about in knickers, she chose her potty herself, chose some knickers etc... But she's got some irrational fear about sitting on it... I've dealt with wet knickers etc and just brushed it off with ',oh dear, try to get to the potty next time'... She wont sit on the toilet either... Thinking I'm gonna have to give up for the time being, but I'm sick of nappies, and she drinks so much that her nappies are full with just 1 wee... So if we're out she leaks in no time! Flippin potty training, why cant it be simple!?
