There's always so much to catch up with on here! Will try to remember everyone but only have a short time before I have to pick up dd and ds1 from preschool.

I second what everyone else has said Jane - you are already a great Mum and will be rooting for you whatever you decide to do.

Glad Freya is doing better hubbard and you can hopefully get rid of the harness very soon.

Sorry that some of you are worried about weight gain. Here S isn't being weighed between his 2 month and 4 month appointments so either they don't care so much about that or the system means they don't want to charge people? Anyway he's enormous and has lost his newborn look too!

Went to register dd for kindergarten next September (she's 5) and despite arriving just a few minutes after the opening time we could only get her into afternoon kindergarten. That's it for a whole year. 2 1/2 hours a day till she's 6 unless we pay for full days. Angry

Hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon. I will get out of my pjs when I have finally planned this lesson!

wigglesrock · 14/04/2011 23:11

Hubbard meant to say "well done Freya" and mummy Grin

Angels Anna weighed at birth 8lb8, she didn't lose any but when she was weighed at 6 week appt she weighed 10lb11oz. I was pleased with this, but health visitor thought it was a bit of a slow weight gain given her birth weight and the fact that she didn't lose any!! I haven't actually had her weighed since, Dr on Tue was happy with her, slightly rolled his eyes when I mentioned HV. He did mention how long she was, she is feeding really well, not being sicky so I'm happy enough. Although she has been in really crappy form for the past 2 days, crying quite a lot and not able to soothe her.

Mr Wiggles surprised me with tickets to West Side Story for tonight, so we're just back from theatre, parents babysat and Anna was even grumpy for them, she really is a grandads girl Grin

tadjenny that's poo, dd2 is starting nursery school in Sept and we were really lucky and got her in to our first choice but everyone else I know is really struggling. There is no requirement for state paid nursery in NI (the year before primary) but I have never known anyone not get a place. My best friend is now looking at paying for a private school nursery for her little boy. Dd2 will be doing 9am-1.30pm 5 days a week for the grand total of £3 a week, so I am counting my blessings.

ledkr · 15/04/2011 00:16

Bensmum, that is like d she settles ok untill the early feed which can vary from 4-6 but its so annoting,at least you have the option of putting him in bed with you, this just infuriates Delilah and she cries.
wiggles thats not like Anna is it?Mst be an off few days.
ponyo The feeding thing annoys me too,as it should be still a bonding thing as if you were breast feeding,i feel we ff are taken advantage of.I fortunately dont have this issue as D has special bottles cos of cleft so i just say she cant do it-she doesnt know that Ella feeds her tho hehe-you only have to squeeze the bottle as she sucks, not rocket science but its our secret Grin me and DD had a heart to heart today about the pils apauling behaviour,he understands more than i thought.we have agreed to lie about our holiday or they will gate crash-they have left us no choice.

May i have a brief winge? Ok thanks. I have just got back from calendar girls and Delilah was asleep in her bloody pram!!!!! All those weeks spent building good sleep habits are down the drain,i am fuming, have come to bed and can now hear her screaming as he has tried to transfer her to the basket in the spare room where he is sleeping, will have to go down now and see to her grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bensmum76 · 15/04/2011 03:31

Ledkr, that must make it hard that D won't settle in bed with you. Just fed Noah and he seems to be wide awake now! May just take him to bed with me, save me listening to him moaning for the next hour, then getting up to bring into my bed! I'd be annoyed with my dh too! Why can't they just stick to the routine! My dh never has a clue what's going on and has to ask me everything! Hope calendar girls was good.
Wiggles, what a lovely surprise from Mr Wiggles! Lucky you! Sorry Anna is a bit out of sorts though

janedoe25 · 15/04/2011 09:47

Good morning ladies!

Hope you enjoyed calander girls ledkr and Angry at your DH for you. Hope D managed to sleep well.
What a lovely surprise from your DH wiggles!

ILovePonyo · 15/04/2011 10:16

Thank you ledkr, feeding whether breast or bottle is bonding time. I was looking through some photos from when A was tiny and theres one of MIL feeding her, it made me so angry! The only other person who can feed her is my mum haha ;)
Feeling really Angry on your behalf about D's routine being buggered up, sometimes it seems dp/dh's don't have a clue. Dp remarked casually this morning "ooh A's got into quite a good routine now hasn't she" - er yes because I've been doing it! Hmm ledkr really feel like saying you should leave your dh to deal with D when she is screaming if he's "caused" it but I'm sure its not that simple.

Do babies sleep more if they are having a growth spurt?! A has been sleeping loads this morning and yesterday - not that I'm complaining - or maybe its b'cos of her jabs on wed...

wiggles hope last night was good, what a fab surprise!

sorry can't reply more but this computer is being stupidly slow again and doing my head in Grin

wigglesrock · 15/04/2011 13:31

Anna still a bit grumpy but mood seems to be improving, she has been asleep for a good while this morning and she really needs it, although she did sleep well for us last night, it was just my mum and dad she cried for Grin

Mr W can be a bit dim/blase about the kids routines, likes/dislikes in general, he would say things like "oh is Anna not having a bath tonight" and I would say no she very rarely has one and he say "since when" and I would want to shake him and say since the bloody day she was born, you foolish man Grin.

Well Mr W and I did the deed last night, what can I say I'm a cheap date, theatre tickets and a bag of fruit pastilles is all it takes. It was lovely, forgot how much I missed him. No problem at all, infact I think it was easier, better than after the other 2.

Am trying to organise the European Health Insurance card application for Anna, rang through their automated system, didn't recognise her date of birth, had to wait on customer service agent (!!!) telling me that not many people take children away on holiday so young in a lovely patronising manner Shock.

PinkElephant73 · 15/04/2011 13:39

Ponyo Megan had her jabs yest. and she has been sleeping loads as well since, I think it is a bit of a shock to their little systems. she went supersonic when she had the jabs, all the other mums waiting outside turned pale at the noise! poor thing. somehow she is sleeping through the noise of her older brothers and friends having a Nerf war at the moment.

Bensmum, at least your OH asks, not that we have a routine here really!

Hubbard thats great news re the harness, keeping fingers crossed that it will be off soon. maybe they gave you the worst case scenario initially to prepare you for the worst.

Jane hope you are ok - there was an item about stillbirth on the today programme yest, made me think of you. it is just so hard to make sense of.

Wiggles hope you enjoyed your surprise, what a lovely OH! I am hoping to have a few more nights out soon but as M woke up and screamed the only time we have dared to go out so far, Im not sure when the next one will be. I must get the pump out and give her an expressed bottle soon or she will forget what to do with it!

I am a bit annoyed with Next, bought some cute 0-3 month babygros and they have shrunk so much in the wash that they no longer fit, unlke the cheapo tesco ones. I only got about 4 weeks use from them (M is 9 weeks so had hoped to get a few more weeks out of them.) am tempted to email and complain if i get the time, but what are the chances!

PinkElephant73 · 15/04/2011 13:41

Wiggles cross posts, when I said surprise I meant the theatre tickets not the other LOL. although glad that was fun too!!!!

wigglesrock · 15/04/2011 17:58

PinkElephant lol it was a bit of a surprise and Mr W was lovely too, although we stayed up late last night and am absolutely knackered today, took dd1 to gymnastics and almost fell asleep waiting on her!!

debka · 15/04/2011 20:18

Hi all, wrote a lovely long post this morning and my stupid fingers computer made me lose it all. Grrrr.

Glad everyone seems to be doing ok. Well done Mr and Mrs Wiggles!! DH and I watched a film together last night, first time since we've had S. he is always playing working on his stupid computer in the evenings, then by the time he's had enough I'm ready for bed. Have to get in there early since my day now starts at 5.45!

OOO nearly forgot- had Sabine weighed yesterday (6-8wk check), and she's actually LOST weight- 11.6 down from 11.12!! HV and dr seem v unconcerned as she looks healthy and is doing all the right things, weeing, pooing, bright and alert etc, and bfing is going well, AFAIK. Dr put it down to her still evening out after the GD and her getting too much sugar. I'm not worried because she does look v healthy and happy, and her sister was on the 75th for height and 50th for weight, which she is now too, and they say siblings tend to follow the same centiles. But I will take her back for another weigh in in a few weeks and if she's not gained well I'll start to worry.

How many feeds are your bf babies having a day? S tends to have about 7, although the last is a bit crap, she just wants to go to bed by that point, bless her :)

tadjennyp · 15/04/2011 22:48

7 feeds a day sounds bliss. Grin I was writing them all down last week and S was having 11-13 feeds a day. No wonder I am knackered and he is getting bigger. 2 weeks ago he was 12lbs 9 at his 8 week check. Last night I had to get up and express some milk as I couldn't turn over! I got 6oz off my right boob and then fed him off it 2 hours later! Is anyone else still getting this? Shock

Glad people are getting back on the horse! Wink It feels so nice to just be a woman for a while. Grin Happy Friday evenings, everyone!

ledkr · 15/04/2011 22:53

i did too Deb,need to sleep now,off to pils then on holiday after, will pop in on my i phone with pil updates and hope ponyo will do the same. May allow mil to feed D Sunday as its Arsenal Liverpool and want to go to the pub and watch it. Am almost looking forward to watching Mils face when dh tells her that we will not be requiring their company further when we go away,i have told dh if he doesnt succeed i will be leaving him in the caravan with D and pils whilst i jump on a flight to I biza with Ella Grin

tadjennyp · 15/04/2011 22:59

Have a fab holiday ledkr!

ledkr · 16/04/2011 07:13

thanks tad x only in the uk unfortunately, ive packed macs and wellies.

i heard from pinky poo btw, shes ok,mollys reflux is worse tho but they are sorting it.

ledkr · 16/04/2011 07:14

oh yes.D slept 7-6.30 !!! i earned that!

Bensmum76 · 16/04/2011 08:26

Have a fab break Ledkr, and well done D for sleeping so well. Noah was fed at 11pm, then woke at 5.45am for a feed so pleased about that! Hopefully he'll keep improving!

ILovePonyo · 17/04/2011 08:13

Enjoy your break ledkr! My PIL might not be visiting now - what a shame eh :)

Tried putting dd to bed earlier last night, 9.30pm, which was fine, but she was wide awake at 5.30am so I'm feeling tired already!
I feel I shouldn't complain though, we've been lucky with her sleep for the past couple of weeks, which I'm reminded of reading some of the posts on here!

Bought some babygros from Tesco yesterday with the voucher I got (£5 = £10 in clothes vouchers) and they are for an 11lb baby, dd is 9lbs so I thought they'd last a little while. Nope - her feet are too long for them! So I need to get next size up which will be all baggy on her but at least her feet won't be squished.

Hope everyones enjoying the sun. I'm off to meet a couple of friends for lunch without dd which will be a bit wierd - they are both single, no kids so we joke about me being a proper "grown up" now Grin

Tarlia · 17/04/2011 09:03

ponyo I've given up with footed babygros now as Z is just too long! We are using footless ones - maybe this might be a better option for A? Have a fab lunch!

ledkr good luck with the ILs & have a fab holiday.

tad I only get the rock boobs if he has slept longer than usual. You are lucky to get 6oz in one go! I get around 4.5 at the mo.

I'm so jealous of all of these sleepy babies! Z is still waking always 2, mostly 3 but sometimes more a night - anyone else going through this still?

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

Grannyapple · 17/04/2011 10:21

tarlia I also feel ur pain-N is up most nights at 2-3am,then again at 6...& snoozes then takes more feeds through to 9am. Last night he was 3am,5.20 then 7.30..then he had a 45 min nap so up again at 9.45!

Off to bluewater today to meet a work colleague & her 4 month old.

ILovePonyo · 17/04/2011 10:46

tarlia Thats not a bad idea but I am a bit baffled as to what I would dress her in! Can I ask what you dress Z in?! Do you put socks on? Am a bit Confused in case you can't tell haha.

I appreciate dd's sleep even more now after reading about these up in the night babies - eek! I don't know how I'd cope if she had some sort of sleep regression now Grin

Tarlia · 17/04/2011 11:21

granny glad im in good company! Z woke at 1.30, 4, 6 and up at 9 today. Zzzz I often bring him to bed to co-sleep at the second feed as I then feel more rested as don't look at the clock, also OH is up at 5am for work so we have the space, but I havnt the last few nights.

ponyo I put him in a multi pack footless and socks at bedtime. During the day he wears a nicer more outfitty footless or a nice long sleeve vest and soft trousers, both with socks and soft booties. I'm a bit sad about it as I'm all for babies in babygros while small as they seem so comfy! We already had a few bigger sized babygros as presents - he started wearing 3-6 mnth at 8 weeks! :O

Tarlia · 17/04/2011 11:24

I also meant to say the 3-6 look a bit silly as they are huge width ways, but he needs the length.

ILovePonyo · 17/04/2011 11:55

Thanks tarlia, I have some socks and nice booties so will give it a go. We put her in trousers once but she didn't seem to like it, maybe they were a bit tight on her round tummy?!
Your lo must be very long Grin, dd will only be in 0-3 months which will be too big width ways but prob fit her feet!

debka · 17/04/2011 14:03

Incredible Shrinking Baby must have heard me talking about her weight loss and yesterday decided to feed every 1.5 hours. I was at my grandparents and spent the day on the sofa feeding S whilst they played with DD1! Was great!

I have a friend who when her daughter got too long for her babygrows she cut the feet off so she could wear them for longer. I did point out that she'd regret that when she got them out of the loft for her next child, but she stuck her fingers in her ears and sand loudly! Grin

S just wears babygrows, I have some outfits for her which I did put DD1 in but I just can't be arsed this time round. She just looks so much more comfortable in babygrows.

granny and tarlia sounds GRIM all those night wakings, S seems to like sleeping at night and goes 7.45pm to 5.45am. I've got used to my day starting at 5.45 now, but it does mean I am very ready for bed at 9.

ledkr hope you're enjoying your holiday, you've got the weather for it.
