Fab i can't believe your so called friend would betray you like this.

You ex's family sound awful you are better off without them. Are your family close by hope you are getting lots of emotional support atm. A huge split like this is bloody tough. I left my first husband when my oldest was only 15m and it was traumatic to say the least so what you are going through whilst pg please be kind to yourself and hope you are getting lots of love and support from your family and real friends xx

Fab123 · 16/03/2011 09:43

Thanks Nicola my mum died in 2005 and my dad lives on the other side of Kent, so we don't see that much of each other. My friends have all been really supportive. I used to go to school with this girl but haven't actually seen her since then, so I was probably being a little silly letting her jump in when she offered to "help".

We've now agreed to meet at the end of the month to talk. I think he plans to go into more detail about his move abroad (he's already blamed this choice on me and my hormones - quick work though considering we fell out early Feb! Can't help thinking this was planned!). I wasn't planning on bothering with CSA but I assume I won't be able to if he moved abroad anyway. He's a cunning bugger.

nicolamumof3 · 16/03/2011 11:49

i should say, well it will be his loss. I have at times thought our lives would have been easier if ex-h wasn't around as you have total say over your lo's life and what you do, go say etc.

i wish i was closer as im in kent too but right over the other side by the sounds of it (west kent)

Fab123 · 16/03/2011 12:01

I'll wait and see what transpires. Thanks Nicola, yes - I'm in E.Kent so quite far!

Righto, I'm all packed and about to head off to get the train to Luton. Back next Thurs :)

Good luck with everything everyone Grin
x

inbetweener · 16/03/2011 12:41

Afternoon all,
fab have a good break and im sorry to hear he is being such a twunt.

Not too much to report today apart from feeling a bit down and teary today and I dont know why. I constantly feel like im about to start my period and this burning feeling is getting worse so I am going to make an appointment to get checked tommorrow morning I think. Im dreading them saying I have a bacterial infection or something. When you google it it says an untreated infection can lead to low birthweight babies and premature labour so i fee sick now !!!!!!!!!!!

Twit · 16/03/2011 17:50

You sound how I feel, except I don't have the burning. I find I have to drink lots of water all the time otherwise I quickly get dehydrated, might you be needing more fluid?
You're about the same age as me I think (I'm 35) I can't help wondering if all the discomfort I'm feeling is a) because I'm that bit older than before and b) expecting no5?
And try not to google, 'tis a silly place.

I've felt a bit better today, but still no appetite and not much energy. I've got a MW appt on Monday so will make a list mention my ishoos (I have a few ATM Sad)
I don't remember feeling this down at this point before, is it normal?

Fab, well, have a good break - if I were you I'd get stuff sorted like the CSA (?) ASAP. Whant a pair of arseholes.

Finallly caved and bought acouple of bras after walking up to school and the wires coming out Blush. 36H if you're interested Wink with a little growing room (underwired)

Icelollycraving · 16/03/2011 18:04

Hi,I'm new,just joined. I'm due 2/7/11 with a little boy,my first baby :)

buttonmoon78 · 16/03/2011 22:48

Just a flying visit, ladies. Scan tomorrow at 1pm. I'm so excited!

Scottygirl10 · 16/03/2011 22:57

Sorry to hear (read) you're going through so much fab, I hope it all settles down for you asap. Also, wot a knob. Sorry, but bit of female solidarity required here :) a big hello back to the Scottish ladies (passes round some tablet). Esp my southern general buddy! I have found myself under consultant care rather than midwife. Hoping to alter this before d-day as really would prefer to be under the midwifies, ye know with my grand old experience of ZERO births! Anyone had both
consultant and midwife care previously? Any preferences? Welcome to the new people! x

Scottygirl10 · 16/03/2011 22:58

Oops we posted at same time button or I would have said 'yey! Have a lovely scan'! X

LadyGoneGaga · 16/03/2011 23:06

Hi Icelolly - welcome to the thread and congratulations on your pregnancy! I have a little boy already - he's fan but we don't know what we are having this time.

Good luck for tomorrow, Button

sarahmia · 17/03/2011 10:05

hello ladies,

think its about time I joined.
I'm due on the 22/7/11 with a surprise.
hoping it will zoom past as been pregnant on and off pretty constantly for about 18 months now.
heartburn starting and bloody killing, been feeling movement since about 18 weeks but i have an anterior placenta so sometimes it still feels very muffled.
I live in London and im 25. any way a big hello!!

RunDMC · 17/03/2011 10:34

mmm tablet, now there's an idea !

interesting to hear your view Scottygirl as I had an appointment yesterday with a consultant (hip problems) and am definitely of the opinion now that I'd be quite happy not to see her again and that the midwives seem like a much cheerier bunch !

hello other new people [waves]

Scottygirl10 · 17/03/2011 11:48

Yes RunDMC may sound silly but I've never even had a male GP before so apprehensive about having a male Obs consultant. Have found much more friendly support from the midwifes. Unsure if I can change or not. HAve 25 week appt next week tho so will ask then. I feel this middle stage is dragging! Have a nicely rounded bump, however a friend told me to wait till I was 'properly pregnant', ie 8 months on to 'really KNOW what it is to be pregnant'???!!! Lol. People are funny with their 'advice'. Like the nurse in my work who unfamiliar asked me if I've 'stocked up on my tenna ladies yet?'. Not sure if she was kidding! :(

RunDMC · 17/03/2011 12:17

mine was female and didn't have the best listening skills and I definitely feel the midwives are much friendlier. Fingers crossed you can change. I've got to go back at 32 weeks (am 22 weeks and waiting for that nicely rounded bump to fully appear !) so will see then.

People say the funniest things don't they ? When I told a friend recently I was having my 20 week scan she launched into a long story about all the potential things that they could find wrong and what to look out for ! Eek to the tena lady comment though.. That's enough to get me doing those pelvic floor exercises Grin !

buttonmoon78 · 17/03/2011 15:06

Well ladies - everything's fine and I buckled at the last minute and it seems button towers will be perfectly balanced... it's a boy!

I asked sonographer if she was sure and she said 'well, officially it's 95% but if that's a girl it's the most unfortunate girl I've ever had to scan!' so I reckon that's that then.

I thought I had a sneaky preference for another girl but I'm so pleased and I can't believe how pleased I am! Ds wil be chuffed to have someone to buddy up with and DH will be pleased as a) he's convinced it's a boy anyway and b) he said having 2 of each would be good.

BTW, DH knows I know but he doesn't want to know (couldn't make it due to being 150 miles away!) so it will still be a surprise for him and I don't intend to buy anything blue anyway.

Baby was a right naughty one though. Would not move into the right position so the whole thing took an hour and 3 attempts - one normal, one with v full bladder and one with empty bladder. She had me on this side, on that side, with this hip raised etc... Just not swinging from the light fittings!

Grin from ear to ear!

fallingandlaughing · 17/03/2011 15:30

welcome icelolly and sarahmia, and congratulations buttonmoon on your scan.

I am under consultant-led care as I have multiple medical conditions so haven't ever really expected anything else. My consultant is a lovely woman (Dr Gibson scotty - maybe you could swap to her? although my friend had Dr Bjornsson and said he was really nice) and I see the midwives too so I don't feel like I am missing out. I have an appt every 2 weeks and emails in between times so the care is very thorough but not stifiling. Consultant seems happy to support my making as many birth choices I can, though I will be induced and on a drip and foetal monitoring
so it is not exactly like a homebirth!

buttonmoon78 · 17/03/2011 16:10

Just been checking notes now I'm back from school. Head circumference is slightly above 50th centile, femur length is same, fetal weight is on 75th centile but abdominal circ is on top centile! So a rotund fat baby in there! And growth chart predicts a 9lber! So much for my current trend of my babies getting progressively smaller Hmm We'll see.

Fraochsmum · 17/03/2011 16:22

What lovely news button! Glad everything was well and love her comment about the unfortunate girl lol x
Hi sarahmia and icelolly and many congrats to you both.
Hmmm she maybe was half-kidding scotty? I have known people to develop problems many years later and our parenting class lady said it was more likely if you were experiencing any problems before the birth as well. I kept forgetting last time, but will be doing a lot to try and remember after this one. Post-it note above the change mat perhaps Grin
Is anyone else getting varicose veins? I have one under my knee that is starting to go out a bit Sad - unfortunate that summer is coming up too Sad Sad Actually, who am I kidding - they will be too busy looking at my mahoosive bump Grin

buttonmoon78 · 17/03/2011 16:33

I've got some Fraochsmum. I had one stripped from my R calf in 08 but there's another one coming now Sad And yesterday I noticed another one in my L thigh Sad I'm currently wearing knee high compression stockings but am thinking that with the onset of this latest one in my thigh I might start to ask for thigh length ones for my repeats. The only problem then is working out how to hold them up!

My plan for summer is to cut the feet off and edge them at ankle length. That way although I'll have to cover the glam things up with leggings under dresses etc, I'll still be able to wear sandals. I hate socks and shoes with a passion!

nicolamumof3 · 17/03/2011 17:09

afternoon lovely ladies!

welcome to our new mummies too.

Lovely news button, i do adore my boys, still feels very strange thinking about having a girl after three boys. I still can't refer to the baby as 'she' or 'daughter'

Im gettign very organised atm. Ordered carseat last night as halfords had fab deal on maxi cosi, and i got a pink one!! So hoping the scan was right.

Halfords doing 10pc off all carseats and pushchairs til next weds so worth a look.

Also ordered my baby bouncer/rocker last week and that has just arrived from m&p so feeling mega organised!!

buttonmoon78 · 17/03/2011 17:35

I was like that with ds1 Nicola. I felt really self conscious saying 'my son'. Felt most odd!

I'm getting sorted slowly too. Currently bidding on a Loola on ebay, in black so hoping to get that. Now I've had in confirmed that everything's ok, I think I might buy a few bits of white clothing now. I love new babies in white regardless of what sex they are!

scarthy1975 · 17/03/2011 18:44

Welcome to the new ladies!

buttonmon78 I don't think i've got my priorities right as i'm currently bidding on a kettle and toaster!! lol

Have just ordered a lovely sleepsuit from Next - it says born in 2011!!

buttonmoon78 · 17/03/2011 19:22

Well sort yourself out then Scarthy! Grin

nicolamumof3 · 17/03/2011 20:15
