Fingers crossed for everyone with scans this week.

Mine is Tuesday. So anxious. Like Lovemybabyboy, I had a mmc in August and found out at dating scan. Trying so hard to stay positive. Or not think about it. Either is good.

Had hardly any symptoms this time. Not sure if that is a good sign or not but I admit I am a bit worried about it.

Boy, not sounding very positive am I?

bilblio · 10/04/2011 22:24

Glad to hear it's not just me who is constantly thirsty. I kept forgetting to ask. I'm also craving fruit, I'm settling for fruit juices as I'm allergic to a lot of fruit.
I highly recommended Asda's raspberry and apple juice, and Cranberry and blueberry juice from the co-op I think.
I can't drink coffee, or vimto anymore, but I think it's more the sugar free drinks I've gone off but I don't want to start on the full fat versions again.
My friend introduced me to Lady Grey tea yesterday, she calls it "a cup of sunshine". I'm going to be drinking that as my morning cuppa from now on. :)

elgoldenflower Rubbish HCP. Don't let them get you down, stay positive!

And yes, very jealous of people drinking in the sunshine... even though I rarely drink, but I do love proper cider.
DD was making Mud pie drinks today. She asked me what I wanted, and I said Gin & Tonic.... "Erm... I've only got apple juice."

I'm even thwarted in imaginative play! :o

We're thinking of going on holiday to Somerset this year. We went a couple of years ago because, we'd never been, knew nothing about the area but we like Cider & cheese... Love the area now... except I won't be able to drink the cider!

seasaltbaby · 11/04/2011 10:24

Had the scan, all ok! The most amazing experience of my life I think. I'm bit earlier than thought, 12 wks today so dd is now 24th Oct, hurrah!

Hope everyone else's was ok too

apples82 · 11/04/2011 10:37

Big congrats seasaltbaby, you can exhale now Grin

Beesok · 11/04/2011 12:15

Hi everyone just wanted to report back from my scan :) Was really nervous - I cried before they even put the ultrasound machine on ;) but thankfully it's all great - baby was moving around so much it gave the technician a really hard time doing measurements much to the amusement of my husband ;)
I am a week ahead - 13 weeks so EDD 17th October!

Good luck to everyone else and happy to hear good news from scans. Can we breathe now? ;)

lovemybabyboy · 11/04/2011 12:19

Hi all,

Had my scan this morning and everything was fine, she said it has a really strong heartbeat, and everything looks fine, I am feeling on top of the world!!!! I am so happy, I cant even explain!!
I was so scared before the scan I was almost crying, it was the same room as last time when i had my mmc.
I think the sonographer probably thought i was mad kept thanking her.....I could have kissed her i was so happy! i still cant believe it!!
He/She looked so cute moving its little arms and stretching its little legs! and i know this might sound mad but itsof little head looked like my son!! hahaha! now all you will think im mad!!! Grin

Good luck for everyone else's scans!!

lovemybabyboy · 11/04/2011 12:22

Oh forgot to say im now 12+2 and due 22nd October so 4 days ahead of what i thought! will update stats. Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 11/04/2011 12:55

beesock we have same EDD SmileK

emmazed · 11/04/2011 13:37

hey everyone

I am so glad your scans are going well. it is so so lovely when you see your little bean & it is all ok.

i am having a midwife appoint tomorrow (15 weeks). i think it is supposed to be at 16 weeks, and all my appointments are slightly out. i am looking forward to it, but also a bit nervous (i assume this wont stop throughout). i keep worrying that something bad has happened between now and my 12 week scan. i think the mw will listen for the heartbeat, so assuming all ok i will be re-assured (for a bit at least!).

my dh can't come with to the appoint, and neither can my sister so i am going on my tod...

good luck for those that have their scans this week

x

Hi everyone!

I had my scan this morning, and the baby was asleep, just laid there and snoozed, waved its legs around a bit and (weirdly) kept looking around to face me on the screen! Unfortunately, despite a lot of jiggling, walking around and eating a banana, LO wouldn't co-operate for the NT measurements, so will have to have the ?T4 blood test at 16 weeks, which is a bit of a pain. From what she could see though the nuchal thing was nice and thin, so not too worried, though DP not entirely convinced. Measuring ahead of my dates slightly (13+4 rather than 13+1) but she said to stick to the original scan date.

Nice to see that it looked a bit more baby like and less like a curled up mouse Wink

Anybody waiting for the scan, please don't be scared - I know its natural to be apprehensive, but you really quickly get to see your baby and the sonographer has been very reassuring both times with me.

Liabella · 11/04/2011 17:22

Congratulations everyone who has had a scan recently.

I'm sorry I haven't posted much - I'd pretty much convinced myself I wasn't really pregnant because I've had no symptoms!

But I had my scan today too and everything seems to be fine in there - although the midwife told me I have a "naughty baby" because s/he kept turning to face us and then flipping right over and facing away so that it was hard to get the measurements! We were sent away for half an hour and I was told to fill my bladder up and come back and the baby was laying horizontally this time and we got a few good pics but the sonographer said I have a 'retroverted uterus' which means the baby is really 'deep'. That might be why I still have a flat tummy - not that I'm complaining, but I did feel like I was making it all up!

She said the NT measurement is 1.4, which she said looks fine, although I don't really know what is 'normal'.

My EDD is 22nd October - only a day later than we thought - so exciting. We're announcing it to our families at our wedding this weekend...

mpops · 11/04/2011 17:23

Sounds like everyone is having good scans and naughty babies. Great news! x

monkeybubbles · 11/04/2011 17:57

my scan went well today too! i also have a naughty baby that was in the wrong position, but he managed to move around for measurements.

she asked if we wanted to know her guess of the sex, we said no because we want a surprise...but now i'm convinced it's a boy, because what else would she have seen to have a guess???

my nt measurement was 2.2, she said that anything under 3.5 is nothing to worry about. had blood tests as well but will have to wait for results.

look at all of us and our scans, this really makes it all real doesn't it?

elgoldenflower · 11/04/2011 19:54

Lovely news for you all with wonderful scans! Quite reassuring. Once again I'm grateful for being with you all on this bus.

Feeling hopeful for mine roll on next Monday!

Especially as I felt a very weird sensation unlike anything I've ever felt like someone gently tickling me from inside. It happened twice today while I was on the train, was in the right place and felt very new bit mad at 11+5 with my first but could be baby?!?!

seasaltbaby · 11/04/2011 20:43

Oh so pleased to hear everyone's scans were ok today! seems like we all had 'naughty' beans-mine was not moving enough to get a bit good picture! having private scan on thurs for the nt test, can't wait!
liabella will be so amazing to tell your family at your wedding! hope you have a fantastic day x

cupofteaplease · 11/04/2011 20:51

Lovely to hear of everyone's scans. I hate being one of the last on this thread to be scanned, the nerves are terrible!!! I am 13 weeks today and my scan is at 8.30am on Wednesday. I so hope baby is okay and growing well. It was all fine at 7+5 so I am keeping everything crossed! Don't know how I am going to get through tomorrow Hmm

Beesok · 11/04/2011 21:47

EdwardorEric that's cool we're bump buddies!!

Liabella double congratulations! What a nice wedding speech it will be ;) hope you have a fantastic day!!!

Everyone else - keeping fingers crossed!!! Don't worry (yes, I know it easy to say AFTER a good scan heheheh) keep your chin up cupoftea tomorrow will pass in a flash and you'll get to see your bean soon!

dannid · 11/04/2011 22:18

So glad to hear that everyones scans have gone well!! Mine isn't until the 19th which seems like such a long time away at the mo!! X

rebelwithoutababy · 12/04/2011 09:47

Hi all,
((waves to all)) Just landed from seeing my sis in NYC: got to show her scan pics from the day before we left, which was great and she was very excited! So good to hear yet more good news from the rest of the bus re:scans. And congrats and glass of (non-alchoholic) champagne to Liabella for this weekend: doubly exciting! Am feeling soooo much better now I am 14 weeks - loads more energy and less need to eat cheese and hangover food: now I am craving fruit and veg, which is much better for my expanding bottom as well as for the bean's nutrition, I'm sure...how are the rest of you feeling? Also, does anyone have hot tips on maternity bras? I saw some other MNers recommending Bravissimo...
And finally, back at work today and have decided I have got to tell boss, and then rest of work colleagues: had been using wait for scan as excuse not to say, but expanding waistline will give me away shortly and am running out of clothes that fit and hide bump...anyone got tips??
xx

apples82 · 12/04/2011 10:37

Rebel i'm with you on this one. We're not seeing family for another week and a half, at which point i'll be nearly 15 weeks. I'm off work over that easter bit so back at work when i'm 16 weeks, when i'll have my scan.

My boss STILL doesn't know, I want to tell family before work, but i'm already expanding at 13 wks.

I do feel guilty but I just don't have an oppurtunity to see family before, and then first chance with work will be 16 wks!!!

mpops · 12/04/2011 10:40

Hello! Anyone in their 14th-15th week? How are you feeling? I've suddenly gone from feeling poorly to feeling very well and everything that reminded me that I'm pregnant is now gone, even the sore boobs! I know they say it's all normal to start feeling better now but I'm a nervous wreck at the best of times so this is all making it quite hard for me. Imagine being anxious about feeling good!

apples82 · 12/04/2011 10:44

mpops i'm the same, i'm feeling tonnes better.

bilblio · 12/04/2011 10:48

seasaltbaby we have the same EDD. :)

Liabella I have a retroverted uterus too, thanks for reminding me I couldn't remember what it was called. :) It meant it was hard to get a good picture and measurements. Also have a fantastic weekend!

elgoldenflower I felt DD move at 14 weeks which was apparently very early for a first pregnancy. It felt like a butterfly fluttering up my belly so sounds similar to yours... definitely different to wind which I've had loads of this time round :o

rebel Bravissimo bras are fantastic, and if you're close enough to get to a shop the staff are amazing too. I'm not bothering with maternity bras, I'm just making sure I'm wearing the comfy well fitting ones.
I bought Mothercare feeding bras at first last time and they were useless, no support at all. I got some from John Lewis in the end but I discovered Bravissimo after that.
I know it's early to be talking about feeding bras but just a warning. Everywhere I read last time said to get measured and buy some about 2-4 weeks before LO was due. I did that, but my rib cage had expanded so much that after I'd given birth the bras were about 3 inches too big for me! I'll be going much earlier this time round.

BabCNesbitt · 12/04/2011 10:49

Liabella, good luck this weekend! How's the dress fitting?

Crawling · 12/04/2011 12:14
