Lovely news on all the scans - congrats, and Liabella have a wonderful day.

mpops i am also feeling loads more energetic. fortunately i didn't have ms, but i did feel tired, and now all is good (but i wondered if it was the lovely weather). I even started clearing out the spare room (soon to be nursery) at the weekend.

I had my 1st (after booking) mw appointment today. I am only 15 weeks, and it isn?t supposed to be until 16 weeks (somehow they messed up all my appoint dates) and she wasn?t sure whether to listen for the heartbeat as it can be difficult this early. Luckily she did (I would have been really frustrated if not) and all is still good. I had a urine test, bp test and general chat. My blood is O- so I need to have extra injections later on, and I have now booked in all my other appointments. I have put them all in my boss?s diary so he can?t say anything closer to the time!

Also (sorry for long post) I went to an ?early bird class? at the hospital yesterday. If yours offer it, I would really recommend it ? a dietician, physiotherapist & the head mw all spoke for about an hour each, and it was really useful. I felt that I learnt loads.

Thanks Knitter, Bilblio, Penguin and BB3 (sorry don't know how to do the name highlight thing) for helping with my neurotic-ness.

Feeling "slightly" calmer this week but as BB3 said herself still worrying that when I have my 19 week scan baby will not be there. So hence still need to get a grip a little bit!

I also feel less sick and tired now mpops and I am in week 14.

Although does anybody else feel their tum is huge already and blatantly looks like they've eaten too much cake :0 I didn't think it would show so soon.

PenguinArmy · 12/04/2011 17:31

I'm am a bit :( about my belly. I know when I get more pregnant I will get over it, but for time being I'm having a moment.

emmazed I am A-. One thing I didn't know is if you have a fall or bump then you will need testing for antibodies. I kinda fell down a hill in the lake district and took myself off to AnE. It was only as I was leaving that they remembered to ask my blood type and I did test positive for antibodies so had to have another anti D injection. Glad I went in, as I felt a bit foolish.

Backache and heartburn for me, but is as was last time so can't complain too much.

I agree with bras just buy as and when required. I got some new ones really early last time ans they were so sore that I needed looser ones for comfort. When your milk comes in, you want to be wearing as little as possible.

Crawling · 12/04/2011 18:27

Penguin I am A- too on DD at 36 weeks I had a fall had to wait in the early labour room for 5 hrs as needed Anti D and they wanted to check no contractions, sadly there were two other women and I couldnt get anyone on the phone to take 3yo DS (I kept trying every 30 minutes) felt so sorry for the other women and they were really nice about it. I still think the MW should have put me somewhere else anywhere really. Sorry gone off on a tangent but I still feel bad and guilty about it.

TallyBear · 12/04/2011 22:08

Glad everyone's scans are going OK.

Happy to report that mine was all OK today. I was so convinced there was something wrong... Had no symptoms and just didn't feel pregnant; no bump, nothing. But saw ickle baby bouncing round like a jumping bean! Like all the other beans seem to be at the moment, it was also all over the place and we struggled to get pics. Nuchel (sp?) measurement was also good (1.3 I think). Need to allow it all to sink in now! Revised EDD is 23 October. 3 days earlier than thought.

Thinking positive thoughts for all those still waiting for scans..

Liabella · 13/04/2011 06:11

Brilliant news about all the bouncing beans!
Yep- the sonographer seemed annoyed about my retroverted uterus as it made her job more difficult. She said it will tip forward at some point...

So far so good with the dress. It's tight and unfortunately I went with covered buttons at the back instead of lacing, which means no room to adjust it! I've got a fitting today so am keeping my fingers firmly crossed!

I'm going to tell work after this holiday. I feel really nervous about it and don't even know why really!

lovemybabyboy · 13/04/2011 09:44

Liabella we have the same due date! best of luck with your wedding, I hope you have a wonderful day. Smile

I also have not told work yet, was meant to tell my boss this morning when I finished my night shift but he was busy in his office talking to someone so i lost my nerve and left! hahaha! I feel so silly! dont know why I feel so scared and embarrassed to tell him!! Blush

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about chicken pox and pregnancy, someone at work got chicken pox from her son and now we all have to sign a form for occupational health to say if we have had it before. I have had them as a child.
At booking appointment with midwife she said to let her know if i come into contact with chicken pox and they will get my immunity checked, so phoned community midwives number she gave me and the lady/receptionist? that answered said i needed to contact the early pregnancy unit, so the guy that answered there said that because i have had them before that i am not at risk, and if im worried to contact my GP! Hmm
I know this will sound strange but i would have prefered to just be able to have talked to a midwife about it!
Dont know what to do now, next midwife appointment is 3 weeks tomorrow is that too long to leave it?

Crawling · 13/04/2011 10:16

Lovemybabyboy you need to make a appointment with the nurse and ask her to do a immunity test. I had one for Parvo different virus but the same procedure.

rebelwithoutababy · 13/04/2011 11:58

Morning all. Thanks for Bravissimo tip, biblio! Good luck with dress fitting today liabella...breathe in! Have made appointment with boss for Monday, so going to have to bite bullet and tell her then...two people at work have now guessed, so it's getting impossible to hide now. Although I had already warned her that DH and I would be planning a family over the next two years before she extended my contract a few months ago, and she was fine about it, I'm still really nervous!
Agree with you mpops, emmazed and crawling:feel so much better now I am week 14! It was really sudden too, so glad I saw wriggling bean on scan, or I would think I wasn't pg any more!
xx

KnitterNotTwitter · 13/04/2011 13:23

Hi ladies
Just a quick message to say that I'm stepping off this bus. We had bad test results at the 12 week scan, followed by a CVS to check for the various trisomy conditions. I've just received the news that our bean has Downs Syndrome. It has been an incredibly difficult decision for us but we have decided to terminate out beloved bean.
I hope you all have wonderful happy and healthy pregnancies, babies and lives.
All the best for the future

cupofteaplease · 13/04/2011 16:18

We had our scan this morning and it was all fine, we have a very active bean in there. They have moved me on slightly I think, as baby's measurements dated me at 13+5. Have finally been able to tell everyone which is a relief. Next scan is on 3rd June.

PenguinArmy · 13/04/2011 17:47

knitter I am so sorry for your news. I hope you get all the support you need and some time to really look after yourself. We're happy to be here, but it's understandable you wanting to step away.

Wow Liabella how exciting hope you enjoy your special day.
Hi Dannid, you and I are bringing up the rear on scans. I've got my first scan on Friday (11 +6). Can't wait. The rational bit of me is convinced I am pregnant with all the signs and symptoms was worried a week ago that I might have empty tum at the scan!
