Am I the first? I can't see another November thread.

Ok, my stats, I am 32, have 1 dd (2.1) and edd is 03/11/2011.

I had a mc at Christmas but feel ok about this pregnancy, though I only found out 3 days ago so I may get a bit more panicked as time passes.

Anyone else want to join me in a November baby thread?

freeangel · 11/03/2011 13:47

Welcome Spodel

Excited I went to reception after and they booked me in.

Just dropped my sample in and they said it could take up to two week! Shock i said oh the doctor said mon as im newly pregnant and straight away she said oh yes ring your doctor monday!

rightontime · 11/03/2011 14:18

Welcome mrsarch and Spodel

Spodel you are not a fraud we are all about the same number of weeks here and there are a few first timers so don't worry.

Dirge That co sleeping thing looks great. Both of mine fell of the bed at least once as babies. The can't go in the middle as DH is scared he will roll on them and he smokes. DS2 always liked to sleep above my head once he was mobile.

rightontime · 11/03/2011 14:23

Hey Loup Not sure if you were aware but there is a separate stats thread here

Not sure if that link will work. Haven't linked in ages. Blush

TerrysNo2 · 11/03/2011 14:24

Welcome MrsA (lovely to have you here Grin) and congrats to spodel too!

*3rdtime" when I was PG with DS I dreamt the baby was born and then we put it on a bookcase and forgot about it and it died Shock - but I wasn't bothered in the dream, I was like: oh well!! Was shocked when I woke up!!

Loup23 · 11/03/2011 14:47

thanks rightontime didn't see that - wow there are quite a few of us!

rightontime · 11/03/2011 14:53

yep. not sure how up to date it is though. i think cep has been keeping on top of it. Grin

i have vivid dreams normally when pregnant but i think they start later. haven't had any so far anyway.

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 11/03/2011 15:13

sorry i keep drifting in and out! im trying to get a few things done today as ms has been quite alright (managing it at least now, yesterday was horrendous)!

Hi to all new members! :)

freeangel can they actually tell by feeling ur tummy?! how strange! i really want to get doc and stuff done, just dont want to tempt fate, very jelous Envy!

rightontime terrys i didnt even realise dreams was a part of pregnancy! this is just one that i have had repeatedly, even before i found out i was pg

loup thanks for adding me! :)

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 11/03/2011 15:25

Hello and thanks for the welcome. I've updated the list on the separate link.

Not going to see the GP just yet, need to get my head around what I want. What I really want is a homebirth but I don't think I;ll be allowed one as I had a EMCS with DD, strepB infection and borderline high bp.
However, I felt that the hospital wrote me off as a c-section waaay before labour got established, despite me wanting a natural birth etc, so I need to decide whether to change hospitals.
I live in N Wales, so can use either Chester hospital in England (DD born there) or Wrexham. Hmm....

On another note - those of you with toddlers, what are you doing about a double buggy?
DD will be 3.2 when baby comes - is that too old to need a buggy?
I have an iCandy which I still adore and will use for the new baby. It has a proper pram bit and uses maxi cosi car seat on an isofix (so handy). It will upgrade to a double but not sure it's worth it.
DD is a bit of a runner though, so atm it's useful to use the buggy as a threat.
Oh decisions - I must stop as I'm nowhere near first scan date yet. I'm jinxing myself.

rightontime · 11/03/2011 15:34

In my last pregnancy I always used to dream about the baby after birth and doing odd things. Like not feeding it for a week or not changing its nappy for 3 days. Then a MW would come and tell me off for neglecting the baby. Sad I just claimed that I didn't know it needed doing Confused Never dreamt about the gender though which always annoyed me.

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 11/03/2011 15:40

MrsArch Iwould love a homebirth also, i only want to use gas and air so im hoping i am able to do so, dh is not so sure tho just incase either of us are needing emergancy med asst (always the worrier) :) i think too many hospitals just see you as "another labouring screaming women" instead of an individual. think it would be more relaxing if at home (relaxing...maybe wrong choice of word :o )

would you use a pool at home? xx

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 11/03/2011 15:42

also, is that countess of chester? if so, iv hard thats a really good hospital! xx

rightontime · 11/03/2011 15:42

I will not be getting double buggy. DS1 WAS 2.9 when DS2 was born and he just stood on the end of the buggy (mclaren) when he got tired. He never ran off though. I will more than likely use a sling for next baby and DS2 will walk or use buggy depending on how well behaved he is at that point. DS2 will be 2.8 when baby due.

chipmonkey · 11/03/2011 16:56

I had a Graco double buggy for ds1 and ds2. Ds1 was 2.2 when ds2 was born. It was easy to push and fitted through doors. We had no space in the house we lived in so gave it to ILs to look after. FIL threw it out as he assumed we wouldn't be needing it again!Angry
Didn't even ask us!

So for ds3 and ds4 we got a Mothercare one which I would not recommend. It was heavy to lift and heavy to push. I think the reason we got it was it folded small compared to others but it so wasn't worth it. Ds4 already walks everywhere so don't think I will be investing in a double buggy.

Nicnacknoodle · 11/03/2011 17:44

Hello all,

My stats are;

Nicnacknoodle - 32 years, 1st Baby EDD 4/11/11

Having a rough time at the moment. Had to inform work I was pregnant due to be injured after getting caught between a fight at work whilst on playground duty(I am a teacher). Work are still insisting that I complete playground duty despite the school nurse writing to them to tell them it was dangerous for me to do so. My boss is refusing to accept this and threatened me that I would be in trouble if I did n't complete my duties - he also decided to have this conversation with me in the corridor of all places!
I am now off work with stress. Been in a highly emotional state for weeks because of hormones but know can't sleep and I am crying all the time.
I got some legal advice and my work are completely in the wrong but not sure I can face the serious of meetings and arguments I will have to go through next week at work, alternative is to go back to doing my duties but I know that we be putting myself in danger.
Really worried that all this stress will negatively effect my baby. Cannot believe how uncaring people can be. Sorry just needed to rant really. Do these intense emotions ease as you get further into pg?

deemented · 11/03/2011 17:53

Dirge - I fed DD all through my last pregnancy, and was hardly ever sick or nauseous. This time i'm feeding DS3 and i can't stop throwing up!! Manshape reckons thats another indicator that theres more than one. Lemonade is really good here too.

suziechan · 11/03/2011 17:53

Nicnacknoodle I'm sorry to hear about all that. that's just what you don't need when you're pregnant. I'm afraid I don't have any advice...just wanted to say if you want to vent, feel free.

and thanks everyone for the warm welcome. just had my first GP appointment and been referred to the MW, so it suddenly feels a bit more real!

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 11/03/2011 17:55

hello nicknack im so sorry to hear that! what bastards horrible people! make sure you stick to your guns! as if your not under enough stress!

if its any help im crying all the time aswell! (although, i wouldnt put your crying down to hormones, more to do with having a such prick of a boss)

put you and your baby first xx

chipmonkey · 11/03/2011 18:00

Nicknack, pregnancy is an emotional rollercoaster.

You poor, poor thing! Don't go back and do your duties. That would be dangerous for you.

I know all the meetings and work you will have to do seem insurmountable in your current state but my advice to anyone with an insurmountable task is to just do one bit at a time. Don't think about the second meeting till you have been to the first one. Baby steps!Smile

And maybe your arse of a boss won't get the opportunity to treat another pregnant woman like this.

Keep strong! And keep posting here, we're good cheerleaders!
