Am I the first? I can't see another November thread.

Ok, my stats, I am 32, have 1 dd (2.1) and edd is 03/11/2011.

I had a mc at Christmas but feel ok about this pregnancy, though I only found out 3 days ago so I may get a bit more panicked as time passes.

Anyone else want to join me in a November baby thread?

Loopy so very sorry to hear your news.

hello woodifer and welcome! This is my first as well, so lots of excitement!

Does anyone else keep a pregnancy journal? I've been thinking about doing one? Did your children like it when they got older?

TerrysNo2 · 10/03/2011 15:07

loopy so sorry to hear your news, fingers crossed for a sticky bean in the near future. xxx

Welcome woodifer it is all very exciting, a bit jealous of you first timers as everything is so new, and you get to enjoy it and sleep for now! Smile

goldmaple I had a pregnancy diary for DS, it is locked away in his special box (which also contains a letter I write to him each year on his birthday) and I will give it to him at some point when he is older - maybe when he is having his own kids - yes I am a bit of a forward planner!! As for this one, I have one (because it was £2 in a charity shop!) but I won't be writing in it until after 12 weeks, for now I may write on paper and fill it in at a later date.

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 10/03/2011 15:12

so so sorry loopybear all the best for next time xx

goldmaple · 10/03/2011 15:22

Terrys That is a good idea (about not writing in it until 12 weeks, but on blank paper). The one I like is expensive (I think i will need to hold myself back from over spending this entire pregnancy:( )

cep · 10/03/2011 15:26

sorry menat to say welcome woodifer congratulations

Hils74 · 10/03/2011 15:26

Phew, Finally got to the end of all the posts.

So sorry loopy but glad you had a lovely sonographer. It makes all the difference.

Welcome to littlewhitewolf suziechan Muzzy woodifer and any newbies I may have missed.

I have never kept a pregnancy diary but Have started to keep a blog over on cloth nappy tree.

Woodifer · 10/03/2011 17:09

Oh loopy - good luck next time!

Hello everyone else - this early time is pretty stressful, i am trying not to get too excited but can't seem to help it Blush

One plus as a first timer is knowing me and DH can actually get pregnant - so i am telling myself, even if its not meant to be this time - we know we can get this far at least.

excited my DH is also a bit non-excited too - i'm pretty sure he is down playing it as a manly way og trying to mitigate the emotional fall out if things don't work out. it is quite frustrating - but i think i understand it.

eating like 7 horses

freeangel · 10/03/2011 17:22

Hiya all, Sorry to hear your news Loopy Hope you are ok!?

Welcome to Stripey and woodifer

How freaky, i went out shopping today and thought about a journal! They sound like a lovely idea!
I brought some books today in a book shop that had 90% off! Very cool, i have left them at my mums for a few weeks! There was a pregnancy bible, a book on how to look after yourself and the baby and gina ford on sleeping babies and a book for me to read. All for £4.00 Grin

TerrysNo2 · 10/03/2011 17:46

Oh free is that British Bookstores?? We had one here and I snapped up a load of bargains, mainly childrens books!

Ah, the first mention of Gina Ford on this group, not the last I'm sure!! Grin

freeangel · 10/03/2011 17:59

Yes it was something like that terrys. My mum works in a charity shop so will be getting lots of books and toys etc nearer the time as they have lots of new ones in! Crazy people just leaving it all there, but its nice people giving it to charity though! Hmmm, not a huge fan of gina ford, but for 70p you cant go wrong. Seeing as though i never slept as a baby, i just cried and my dh is a very light sleeper i thought i should prepare myself!
I thought i would buy books as i cant buy anything else till the end of april after my scan! I did walk past all the stuff in mothercare really slowly today though! Blush

busyboysmum · 10/03/2011 18:00

Haha - Gina Ford!!

I liked the Baby Whisperer with my two - much more flexible.

I've got to get all my old books out of our loft - all so exciting. I've got to see how the old pram scrubs up, what is everyone thinking of getting or haven't we got that far yet?

I gave away all my maternity clothes after my second son so am going round to my friend's house next week to have a root through her stuff, she has bagfuls and is the same size as me.

I also snapped up a local bundle off ebay for £10 this time last year when we first started trying and I thought it would be as easy as last time! So must get that out from under the bed and see what's in there.

Hello to everyone, how did everyone's days go today?

chipmonkey · 10/03/2011 18:05

Aw loopy, so sorrySad Life is so unfair sometimes.
Take care and we'll all fx for a sticky one the next time.

freeangel · 10/03/2011 18:13

I have been chatting with a friend who is due 10 days before me and she suggested making a list! Think a list of what i need will have to do for the next few weeks, thats not tempting fate is it? Grin Theres a post on the pregnancy talk of what baby essentials are needed for the first few weeks! Im watching it so i can start having a think of which items i need! In my head, i have worked out which buggy and cot and thats it!

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 10/03/2011 18:18

oooooh really getting excited about people writeing about the whole getting toys, maternity clothes ect!!!!! :o :o !!! i cant wait to start buying.... iv done a list of all the stuff we need and its in the region of about £5000 for the first year! and that was with scaling back! still... i really cant think of anything more worth it! xx

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 10/03/2011 18:21

and can i just ask, who is gina ford? xx

chipmonkey · 10/03/2011 18:34

Gina Ford is a baby "guru" who got into a legal debacle with Mumsnet years ago over a joke someone made about her on a thread.

Some people swear by her but I would find her routines too regimented, particularly if you intend to breastfeed as I don't believe you should make a bf baby follow a schedule.

But I am a hippy sort!Wink

stripeymummy · 10/03/2011 18:37

Hello everyone. Thank goodness I'm not the only one thinking about buying stuff, I've already been looking at maternity bundles on ebay and having nervous breakdowns at the cost of prams, or these fancy 3-in-1 travel systems. But I am trying to be very restrained and leave things until the 2nd trimester (no harm in looking though Wink).

Well, I am 30, and this is my first, and am afraid only one, as I have a crap heart and we have decided to stay on the safe side for my health. But I am so excited and scared, as I'm sure everyone is. So if anyone else out there also has a dicky-ticker, or knows someone who does, all advice and info will be gratefully accepted :)

Anyway - anyone else had occasionally itchy boobs? :o
And has anyone read the Rough Guide to Pregnancy, and is it worth gtting - I'm thinking light relief after Miriam Stoppard and Anne Dean? And is Gina Ford still around?!! Is that not our parents generation? Confused

chipmonkey · 10/03/2011 18:39

Not itchy boobs but I am getting a sharp stabbing pain in my left one which I don't remember getting before but I suppose all pregnancies are different.
