Am I the first? I can't see another November thread.

Ok, my stats, I am 32, have 1 dd (2.1) and edd is 03/11/2011.

I had a mc at Christmas but feel ok about this pregnancy, though I only found out 3 days ago so I may get a bit more panicked as time passes.

Anyone else want to join me in a November baby thread?

Thanks Cep! It's all a bit surreal. I really desperately need a nap now after this last week. DD is at the childminders so....

Loup23 · 08/03/2011 14:19

Congratulations Dirge great news, I'm thinking about an early scan as waiting for 12 weeks seems so far away....

Welcome busy and congrats too. I have purposely not seen my Mum as I know I won't be able to help telling her, this will be her first GC so she'll be thrilled.

bump hope DS feels better soon, poor thing.

Keep the good news coming girls x

dirge So glad to hear your good news! :)

DirgeInVegas · 08/03/2011 16:25

Thanks everyone!

MIL has just sent me an email asking us to go away for her birthday in October. What's the latest you can fly I wonder? I don't want to go (2 weeks with SIL? No thanks) and this might be my get our of jail free card.

OP posts:
DirgeInVegas · 08/03/2011 16:27

Oh fab, it's 35 weeks and I would be at least 36 weeks when we leave. MIL is going to be cross.

OP posts:
DirgeInVegas · 08/03/2011 16:32

Oh and we went to see my dbro last night and his wife. We haven't told them. SIL is 16 weeks pregnant with their first and it's a girl. DH asked for their name shortlist and they picked out the only girls name we can agree on.

I was actually a bit panicked. DH then picks out the other name they like (Sophie) and says "Ooh thats lovely" and they said it was their favourite.

Anyone else thinking of names yet? I think of names even when I'm not pg.

OP posts:
cep · 08/03/2011 16:34

Oh what a shame, Grin Does mil know your pg yet? if not surely she won;t be angry at the prospect of saftey for her new gc

cep · 08/03/2011 16:36

dirge that happened to us, db's dd was named the only girls name we could agree on at the time, spelt differently but still couldn't use, thankfully had ds, and now we've got other names we like. we like Robyn, and Mia (although chav in park had called hers Mia so abit Hmm bout it now.) now we have problems thinking of boys names.

ochaye · 08/03/2011 16:48

What lovely news Dirge - I agree with Terrys, our thread needed a bit of good news. And such a shame you can't go away in October. I'm sure your MIL will understand how disappointed you are!

Names ... aaaaaargggh! I haven't got to that yet but know it'll be impossible. I have 2 girls and we struggled to come up with names for them. I think it's highly likely we'll have another girl so bring on the headache!

Hi there busyboysmum - lovely to meet you!

DirgeInVegas · 08/03/2011 16:54

Ooh she's not very grandma-ly Cep. When I told her I was pg in October she looked at me, blankly and said "You're joking? Are you winding me up?". No smile, no congratulations. She then asked how many weeks (I think the test was still wet Blush) and she started going on about the miscarriage danger zone and I shouldn't be telling people yet.

I went back into the living room and FIL had already left, was waiting in the car for MIL. No hug, no goodbye, congrats you're having my grandchild. Just all round misery. My family think they're "odd". DH thinks they're odd tbh.

So no, I'm not telling her this time although she must know that we are ttc and it possible I'd be pg around October. I, cynically, think she just wants a nice holiday for her birthday, in a nice villa but wants to split the cost between 6 of us.

They're lovely names, I like Mia - we have some friends who have a Mia and they're not chav at all if that helps? Our boys name is DH's granddads name. He died when I was pg with dd.

I have no chance of middle names this time but DD has one so I need to come up with at least 2 girls names and another boys name.

The baby names thread doesn't seem to help me.

Just read that back, obviously I will tell the PIL at some point but not in the first trimester.

dirge nahl et them find out when they see you with big belly. Grin i remember when we were telling people i was pg with ds, told dss before dh's family so dss could tell them with us next to him of course. when he told bil he thought dss was talking about his mum so came out with a comment like "can't she keep her legs together." (dss is her only child by the way) and when i said "thanks" he said "oh it's you?" no apology or anything. mil thought same thing but at least reacted a bit better when it dawned we meant us. Why they thought we'd stand as a group to tell them about dss's mother i have no idea. My parents cried (well shed a tear or two not waterfalls) we have middle name for a girl will call her annie after my grandma.
no it doesn't help me either.

Reallyusefulengine · 08/03/2011 18:46

Dirge I have eaten a celebratory pancake in your honour.

My scan is at 10.30am tomorrow. I'll get back to tell you all what happened. Am trying to be optimistic and your news, Dirge has really helped.

I've just asked on the names board where the name list is which shows all the names in the UK.. some people seemed to know their kids name ranked 2000th etc. Any ideas? V Curious.

DirgeInVegas · 08/03/2011 19:23

10:30 is a good scan time Smile I will keep checking for news. Are you going alone?

haha! I have just stuffed myself with a pancake too. It was an American style fluffy one! Yum!

Is there a thread ranking names in the UK? That would be interesting. I haven't seen it but I do have a baby name app for my iPhone it's crap

3rdTimeLucky2000 · 08/03/2011 19:32

oh yeah, that was just me cheekily asking if i can join your forum! :o

cep · 08/03/2011 19:34

really good luck for tomorrow. do you need to drink 2 pints as well? Grin for ds

dirge i have seen it but not since last time so will need to try again. (still don't know how you didn't pee yourself.)

3rdtime welcome and congratulations. i had a mc in dec, and am getting very nervous at every ache and pain. fx for you

cep · 08/03/2011 19:36

the top 100 baby names is throught the baby name finder link at the top. Then name index (i think that was it)

Reallyusefulengine · 08/03/2011 20:09

I am going alone which I think I prefer. Especially as my bikini line is a mess - no-one deserves to see that unless they're in the medical profession and getting paid Grin.

Luckily I do not have to drink 2 pints of water. I had a forceps birth last time so would mostly likely wee all over the floor!

Hi 3rdtime Congratulations! xxx

TerrysNo2 · 08/03/2011 20:09

welcome 3rdtimelucky I hope your name is true to form!! Smile

Good luck for your scan tomorrow reallyuseful - mine is next Tuesday and feels like FOREVER away!!

cep · 08/03/2011 20:11

really pmsl

terrys i haven't even got my dr's till the 21st, really starting to regret deciding to wait till i'd passed the 7 week mark.

excitedLJ · 08/03/2011 20:15

OK, first my stats, then my story, then i need some hand holding!

I am only 4 + 2 with our first and am due on 14/11/11.

I had some brown 'bleeding' today. I had it this morning and went straight to the doctor. He took some blood, I go back for more blood tests on thursday, then back on Friday for the results. then I will be mostly throwing a fit until he books me an early scan! I had a massive meltdown with hubby straight ater and convinced myself of the worst. I also rang my boss and told him that I wont be at work for the rest of week - i think rest can only be a good thing. Still a bit of brown tonight when I wipe, though it hasn't been continual all day. Feeling a bit better having read through this thread and seeing that i am far from alone.

Sorry for long and boring introductory post but thats my story!!
