Am I the first? I can't see another November thread.

Ok, my stats, I am 32, have 1 dd (2.1) and edd is 03/11/2011.

I had a mc at Christmas but feel ok about this pregnancy, though I only found out 3 days ago so I may get a bit more panicked as time passes.

Anyone else want to join me in a November baby thread?

Hello ladies! Been conferencing far up north, but just wanted to say hi! to the new arrivals, and that I'm keeping everyone who's having a worrying time in my thoughts. xoxo

whereareyougoingmylittleone · 05/03/2011 07:30

Have a lovely weekend everyone and let's keep hoping everything turns out for the best... I got another (very strong) positive test today, so am definitely telling dh tomorrow! Fingers crossed for all xx

ps have added my details to the stats page (sorry forgot to before!)

knockedupagain · 05/03/2011 08:55

missinvincible and lucy so sorry to hear about the bleeding, and hope it settles down soon. Really hope that it isn't another ectopic, missinvincible.

I haven't had any bleeding this pregnancy, but then due to IVF I'm on progesterone pessaries every 8hrs, which suppress bleeding, so I can't really take much comfort from that. Feeling sick right now tho, and no return of period looming feelings. I'm very aware that this is my very last chance. I'm 50 a week on Tuesday, and that is the cutoff for treatment.

Hi knockedout Was the conference interesting? I don't think it matters that our names are similar - keep people paying attention or potentially lead to amusing misunderstandings!

cep · 05/03/2011 09:24

morning all.

missinvincible and lucy how are you both doing this morning????

chip and dirge how are you two this morning?

knockedout how was the conference?

whereareyou yay for the strong +ve, let us know what dh says.

knockedupagain are you doing anything special for your birthday?

MissInvincible · 05/03/2011 09:32

Good morning! I've been up since 5, haven't slept much. Still bleeding but not a lot (more than just spotting though). I have been referred to the hospital by the out of hours GP, appointment at 10.30am - I'll let you know how I get on.

cep · 05/03/2011 09:37

fx for you hon.

freeangel · 05/03/2011 09:49

Morning ladies, Glad you have an appointment, hope it goes well MissInvincible. Hope you are ok lucy

lucyintheskywithdinos · 05/03/2011 10:19

Miscarried overnight. Don't feel too awful, bleeding is just like the middle of a period. I'll go into hospital on monday to check its complete.

Hope your hospital appointment goes really well MissInvincible and everything is ok

freeangel · 05/03/2011 10:27

So sorry to hear that lucy my thoughts are with you xx

rightontime · 05/03/2011 11:03

Oh no Lucy I am sorry. Thinking of you. x

FX for you missinvincible Hope everything is ok.

chipmonkey · 05/03/2011 11:35

lucy, so very sorry. Sad XX

Reallyusefulengine · 05/03/2011 11:55

OMG, I just logged on and read all the posts from the last 36 hours.

Lucy am so sorry, I hope you're being looked after and am thinking of you

Missinvincible I imagine you're at your appt now, am thinking of you too.

Chip how are you?

Dirge How are you doing too? Like you and Cep I am feeling sick and therefore delighted! So bizarre, literally wanting to vom and then inwardly cheering. I am now hankering after a chinese. Dirge, your sister in law is a jealous cow. I think you should spend her entire wedding breastfeeding to annoy her.

I had another scan yesterday, I went for another bloodtest and offered one. Still nothing to see but my hcg level is rising so am feeling incredibly relieved and very lucky for now.

ochaye · 05/03/2011 15:52

Oh lucy that's awful news. You sound very calm. I hope you have all the support you need.

Everything is crossed for everyone else who's worrying right now. Hope you're all doing ok x

chipmonkey · 05/03/2011 16:03

No more red spotting, just a bit of brown but I think it's just the end of the red spotting IYKWIM. Very occasional nausea especially when I'm hungry but I'm a bit worried that it's not as bad as with previous pregnancies although, really, how bad can it ever have been at 5 weeks?

Reallyusefulengine · 05/03/2011 16:19

Chip You must be feeling relieved that it's turned to brown and the red spotting has stopped.

Is anyone thinking of anything other than being pregnant this weekend?

MissInvincible · 05/03/2011 16:48

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

Unfortunately I have had the day from hell. I had an emergency appointment at the hospital this morning as I am bleeding and have developed a dull pain/cramping in my lower left abdomen.

First of all I saw an out of hours GP who was really lovely, she took my history in detail and examined me thoroughly including an internal. She sent me straight up to the gynae ward with a letter for the registrar explaining that she wanted me to have a scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

The ward is obviously a very busy one and when we arrived upstairs there was only one nurse and she was rushing about responding to alarms, answering the phone and letting new patients on to the ward. I was asked for a urine sample but she had no little bottles left, I was pointed in the general direction of the toilet and told to pee in one of the cardboard containers. Sample done, I had to walk around the ward to find her and she was busy with someone else, so I was told to deposit sample on a trolley in the corridor next to some random crap (unlabelled).

We were shown into a side room where we waited for about half an hour for the doctor on call. When the doctor arrived the nurse rushed over and declared my urine pregnancy test to be negative Shock which really knocked me for six. The doctor then refused to examine me, but did take a blood sample to check my hcg levels.

I was sent home completely stunned (still bleeding and cramping) to wait for the results, which a nurse has just told me are actually 99! I have to go back on Monday morning to have a repeat test, I know that 99 is a low result but surely a hospital pregnancy test would have picked it up?! I have been informed that I will NOT be scanned on Monday, the appointment is just for a repeat hcg level to see if it is increasing or not.

I just feel completely cheated out of my scan, I really don't know how that test appeared negative. I did a cheap supermarket test when I got back home and it came up positive straight away. I went to the hospital this morning to put my mind at rest, I was not expecting the outcome to be good but I STILL don't know what is happening and the wait is killing me :( :( :(

I just don't know what to do next, I am so worried and shocked. I have issues with the hospital already due to past experience (I think I explained earlier on the thread).

:( :( :(

TerrysNo2 · 05/03/2011 16:52

Lucy I am so sorry for you. Sad I hope you are relaxing this weekend and being taken care of. My thoughts are with you. xxx

MissInvincible waiting for your news and hoping it is good. Keeping my FX for you.

reallyuseful that is such good news about rising HCG level. What is the next step for you?

chipmonkey hope the spotting stays away.

Its so Sad to hear so many people having spotting, I suppose those are the dangers of knowing so early, I never realised until I had my MC how many early ones there are. Sad Its certainly makes you appreciate what you have though.

Hope everyone else has an uneventful weekend.

TerrysNo2 · 05/03/2011 16:55

MissInvincible cross posts - and I am so Sad to hear your rubbish day. They don't sound sympathetic/understanding at all. Angry 99 does sound low but then they do vary so much between people. This weekend will be so long for you but we are here if you need to vent/ talk or anything.

Thinking of you. xxx

MissInvincible · 05/03/2011 17:00

Hi Terrys I'm just so annoyed the registrar didn't even examine me as they assumed I'm not pregnant! A low hcg level can suggest an ectopic as it tends to rise more slowly than in a normal pregnancy. The fact they could not locate my last pregnancy made me think it might be more important to scan early this time in case they could see something they maybe couldn't the last time.

So sorry Lucy - I have just caught up reading the thread. :(

freeangel · 05/03/2011 17:05

so sorry to hear you had a crappy day missinvincible wish i could do something to help you xx

Reallyusefulengine · 05/03/2011 17:42

MissInvincible You poor thing, that is appalling treatment, Shock I am assuming this is the same hospital where you were treated for your PUL? Are you sure they even tested the correct urine sample? I can't believe they didn't even examine you with your previous history.

Am thinking of you and feel so awful for you, what an ordeal. Sad

MissInvincible · 05/03/2011 17:53

Hi really - it was exactly the same ward, never mind hospital, it was the same room I was in last time. I am fuming and considering a formal complaint. If I had stayed at home and ignored my symptoms I could have had a scan on Tuesday morning!!! But now they have said I can't have one. I have no idea which urine sample they tested, or if she really bothered at all. I cannot believe a hospital test would not read similar to a cheap supermarket version! Angry

Reallyusefulengine · 05/03/2011 18:23

MissInvincible So sorry you had to go through the whole experience again. Did they say at what point they would scan you if they're not doing it on Monday or Tuesday? I'm going to sound stupid here but I know in London you can ask for a referral to a different hospital. Can you?

MissInvincible · 05/03/2011 18:35

In theory I could be referred, but I live way up north and the nearest hospital is quite a way away. I am seriously considering it. I have not been offered a scan at all, though I am going to speak to my community midwife on Monday morning and see if I can get her backing - she referred me originally for the appointment I had booked in on Tuesday.

On a more positive note my bleeding has settled, so it has only lasted one day. I still have the ache though, will have to just see how it goes I guess!

knockedout · 05/03/2011 18:43

Hi everyone.

Lucy I'm so very sorry to hear that. :( Thinking of you and hoping you're doing OK.

MissInvincible how frustrating for you! That sounds awful. I hope things can only get better when you go back next week. But that really sucks.

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. Hope you're having great weekends.

I don't think I am long for this thread either - I took another test this morning and it was still +ve but very much more faint than previously. So I suppose that means this one isn't going to stick after all. :(
