Took it upon myself to start a new thread. Everyone's popping right now!

PS: Sorry for the awful rhyme, it was all I could think of Blush

Hi ladies, just checking in. Congrats to the new mums!

Not been on here much as nothing to report and have been in a bit of a grump Sad for a few days as finished work last Tuesday (yay!) but am now just getting to the bored sh!tless stage and getting really very impatient for baby to arrive. Apart from achey crampy pains, I've not had any indication that anything is about to happen...

Had mw yesterday and ended up having a blub in the car on the way home [pathetic icon] as she gave me a leaflet about induction and it just got to me because I know I'm not even due yet but it seemed like she was already going down that route. It was just me being hormonal though, she just wanted me to be aware of options if I go beyond Saturday.

It's just really frustrating the whole waiting thing. I am yet to embrace the enjoying idleness thing, which is surprising!

Anyway, that's enough of me whingeing, good luck to those about to pop imminently and congrats to those who already have!

D

slowangels1 · 15/02/2011 15:55

I've just eaten half a big pack of crackers in less than 10 minutes Blush. In my defence - they do sell themselves as being high in fibre, so, clearly I'm getting lots of goodness Confused

aww d I was only thinking we hadn't heard from you and wondering if you'd had your LO (obviously wishful thinking!). Totally understand the upset about being given an induction leaflet already. I've got an induction booked for monday and feel really Confused about it all. Just wish it were next month and we'd got through this waiting bit. I've had no proper exciting signs of labour coming on either.

I'm just watching an old x files dvd and a bit Shock as it's an episode where women are giving birth to alien babies - probably not very restful and hope it won't give me nightmares tonight!

lostfromoz · 15/02/2011 16:38

delia I feel exactly the same! Hard to concentrate on anything and all slow and bored...lol at the alien babies, angels, that's worse even than watching OBEM

Oneof4 · 15/02/2011 17:23

Angels - lol at the alien babies!

Which reminds me, I dreamt I was experiencing a massive tidal wave the other night and suddenly woke up convinced that my waters had broken. They hadn't...though it took a trip to the loo and careful examination of evidence to convince myself they hadn't - but I think my brain is plugged into my uterus and nothing else right now!

Delia, so sorry you're feeling blue. It's horrible not having much control over emotions and the waiting is a KILLER. Fingers crossed things kick off for you soon.

WaddlingSheep · 15/02/2011 18:35

I hate those kinds of dreams oneof4! I keep dreaming that I'm in labour and feeling the pain but waking up to realise that I'm not but can't decide if the pain in my dream was real.

We haven't had any baby news on here today Sad.

wigglesrock · 15/02/2011 20:05

Woo hoo, Anna was born at 1.42am this morning. After unsuccessful Grin sweep yesterday, we went for a walk, pottered about, I had backache from about 6pm. Got worse at 8pm, had a bath, Mr Wiggles panicked a little, insisted we get my sister over and head to hospital.

We arrived at hospital about 10.15pm, was 6cms dilated already Shock Headed to delivery room, had g&a, shot of pethedine and out popped Anna, absolutely gorgeous, double of dd1, but same size as dd2 - 8lbs 8oz. Already home, girls in love with her as are we all, nestled in corner of room, singing in her sleep Smile

MizK · 15/02/2011 20:28

Hi all - congrats wiggles!!!

I am happy to say I have also popped! Saturday early hours, 3.35am after only gas and air (my worst nightmare as confirmed cowardy custard) we finally had our little girl! Her name is Cassia and she weighed 7lb 14oz. She is absolute heaven! DD and DS are smitten as are the whole family.

Looking forward to hearing about lots more new arrivals over the next few weeks...

Oh BTW my starting off labour tip is to go for the longest walk you can manage, think thats what set things off for me.

janedoe25 · 15/02/2011 20:37

Congrats wiggles and mizk Beautiful names for your beautiful girls! Enjoy your babies Grin

smallblackflowers · 15/02/2011 21:02

Congratulations wiggles and MizK Smile Lovely news and lovely names.

Delia, I'm also feeling like you are, but am hoping that like wiggles my unsuccessful sweep today might produce results. I've had less pains since the sweep than I've had over the last few days. Sad
Induction is booked for Sunday when I'll be 42 weeks, so hoping and praying something happens before then, as all I wanted was to have a natural active labour in the midwife led unit, as I was unable to do so with DD due to induction for gestational diabetes on my due date. Moan moan moan..

40Weeks · 15/02/2011 21:25

Ahh great news from wiggles and mizk what lovely names.

Sorry for all of those still waiting. Did any of you see the tip from my reflexologist? Rubbing below the inside ankle while pressing firmly on centre of big toe, will no doubt need some assistance but could be worth a shot if you are overdue?

No news here, just playing a waiting game but still have 10 days to go so won't complain. Good luck to everyone else still waiting, hope it won't be much longer

ledkr · 15/02/2011 22:00

wey hey wiggles and mizk well done.i was just popping by to wind wiggles up a bit and look whats happened, popped and home in literally seconds haha.

tadjennyp · 15/02/2011 22:06

Congratulations to wiggles and Mizk! Lovely names btw (my dd is Anna too)! Exciting baby news every day now!

WaddlingSheep · 15/02/2011 22:54

Woo hoo! That's more like it Wink I was getting down hearted with today's lack of baby news!

Congratulations Wiggles and MizK! gorgeous names, really pleased for you both Grin Grin

WaddlingSheep · 15/02/2011 22:57

I've just noticed that both your babies arrived the day before your due dates Grin you've got to admire their timing!!!!

MissTFied · 16/02/2011 00:57

Congrats everyone. Coming thick and fast now!

I will be 41 + 1 tomorrow and will be having a sweep. I predict (positive thoughts) my baby will be here late Thurs eve.

Still can't believe I will definitely/maybe have a newborn by next week!

Oneof4 · 16/02/2011 06:21

Brilliant news Wiggles and MizK*!

Crossing my fingers for you MizT...

Oneof4 · 16/02/2011 06:22

slowangels1 · 16/02/2011 08:36

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/02/2011 08:57

Smile Smile Smile wiggles and mizk, fantastic news! hope you're enjoying your newborn cuddles!

i saw mw and hv this week and they've agreed to see me more often but i'm just going to make an appt with gp as i know him more. good news is that ben has put on 13 1/2 oz in 10 days so at least the feeding is paying off, he's now 6lb 14 1/2oz!

just off to hospital for his scan and will write soon x

ledkr · 16/02/2011 09:06

Hi need to ive been looking out for you, good to know you are getting things sorted and that Ben is doing well, the tiredness is creeping up on me now.I think i was a bit high, the pil visit at weekend will put a stop to that Grin
Delilah lost weight last time and has not put any on since birth so we are crossing our fingers for weigh in later.

EauRouge · 16/02/2011 09:15

Congrats wiggles and mizk!

Glad to hear things are on the up needto, glad Ben is putting on weight and that you're being looked after :)

ledkr, fingers crossed for the dreaded visit Grin

knittakid · 16/02/2011 10:18

Congratulations wiggles and mizk!!! beautiful names. Hope you are settling in alright.

needto glad things are happening regarding your blues and that Ben is gaining weight.

I know it'd be horrible, ledkr, but at the same time am looking forward to reading all about your pils visit! sorry!

Nothing to report here. Crossing fingers for those having sweeps yesterday and today.

WaddlingSheep · 16/02/2011 10:18

Fingers crossed Ledkr, that she's put on weight Smile.

Glad you're getting some support Needto!

Just had a little lurk on the March thread and there's a birth announcement and someone's waters have broken! Erm...don't they realise that there's a queue? Hmm Angry Grin

I think this little girl has decided not to make an early appearance after all. Keep getting cramps like she's coming but then she changes her mind Hmm. I'm unsure whether I've lost my plug or not (sorry if tmi) as I had something this morning but it wasn't bloody but I've been reading up and apparently it doesn't have to be, it can be clear like this was. Ewww!

janedoe25 · 16/02/2011 10:41

morning ladies and babies! For those of you who had sweeps were they painful? I have next wed and im dreading it, i hate any internal examinations. Was at midwife this am baby has head fixed in pelvis- does that mean her head is engaged? Oh and i have an induction booked for 4th march if she hasn't arrived before then! Sorry for all the daft questions but i am a clueless first timer!

roundthehouses · 16/02/2011 10:48

hello all - congrats to all new arrivals! like delia I´ve felt a bit grumpy the last few days and not really been up to posting. Am not due til tuesday but the way everyone is going on you´d think I was overdue already. Had a few niggles the last couple of days which of course were nothing, as much as you think you won´t read anything into it, you do! Today I 100% do not feel like I am about to have a baby and I actually feel much better for it Smile better than false hope for sure...

All of us still waiting, we should still try and come on even when (especially when?) we don´t feel like it - at least we can moan freely here! lol

Am sure someone else is bound to pop in the next day or two so good luck whoever you are Smile
