Took it upon myself to start a new thread. Everyone's popping right now!

PS: Sorry for the awful rhyme, it was all I could think of Blush

eau you can stay after all i have been on the ante natal thread since Jan. Grin
Huge congrats 40 well done on achieving the birth you wanted Smile
mizk delilah is ok at night mostly,do you do the feeds in the dark?I think that really helps them realise the difference.
D is also trying it on with the snacking, yesterday i was determined to try snd stop it so managed to coax her into taking almost the full amount each time and i feel it has helped, she was awake most of the morning but then slept all afternoon and night obviously had feeds during this time tho.
Looking forward to Angels birth story tho we may need to start a new thread to fit it all in.

ledkr · 26/02/2011 11:59

Grin and Confused at me feeding in the dark.I do use the landing light for some light.

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2011 12:04

Hi all, and congrats to 40weeks, sounds eventful!

MizK dummies are a wierd thing aren't they, sometimes I can give dd one to calm her a bit if it is the middle of the night and she is upset and not hungry/dirty nappy etc, but sometimes I try and give it to her and she looks so offended and screams even more!

Good luck knitta and janedoe (uncomfortable maritals, oh dear!) All I can say is get as much sleep now as you can - although I appreciate that it can be difficult when you're ready to pop Grin Anyone else think it seems very unfair that now we don't have big baby bumps in the way making it difficult to get comfortable in bed theres still no chance of a good nights sleep with baby?!

Just thought I'd share something a bit pathetic annoying, dp's family invaded us yesterday, stayed for 6 hours, and I ended up crying in the kitchen whilst making their endless cups of tea/coffee Blush Not one offer of help/washing up etc. Dp bless him was a bit worried when he saw me blubbing, but fgs - how many times did we have to yawn and say how tired we were until they left? I know we should have maybe been more assertive but I think we were just trying to get through the day. Hope you're ok ledkr!

Long post, sorry folks :)

ledkr · 26/02/2011 12:24

ponyo the bastards,i am so angry on your behalf but a little with you to mrs cos why did you do it?
I sat on my arse from the min they got here and told them when they asked that i was feeling tired ans sore.Fil got out his crusty bread roll he had bought himself and was eating it in my freshly hoovered lounge grrrr.I did nothing apart from suggest fish and chips when they were hungry and then eat them. They paid too.
Anyway NEWSFLASH i have just walked in on fil in the shower ugh ugh ugh LOCK THE DOOR YOU OLD DUFFER.

Oneof4 · 26/02/2011 13:30

Newsflash ladies - just got home from hospital with our lovely baby Alex who was born yesterday morning. 9lbs 6oz - didn't see that coming! (felt it though...)

Was all a bit of a rush in the end - they found merconium in my waters so induced aggresively and you can figure out the rest. Lots and lots and lots of gore, tearing, cutting, tugging and pushing....and then it was all fine!

He's a sweetie. DH is bursting with pride. Bf is a bit of a challenge, but we'll see where we get with that.

Can't believe Angels is still in there. Poor love.

knittakid · 26/02/2011 15:20

ponyo am with you in the sleep obsession camp, and haven't got a baby yet! I just can't decide whether to go for more walks or sleep, sleep seems to slow things down, but then being exhausted would be no good either!

Terrible behaviour from your pils!

janedoe is just you and me then? I'll have to brave the 'maritals' if they work for you then!

Oh oneof congratulations on sweetie Alex, although it does not sound entirely pleasant, hope everything heals quickly.

Shall we start an angels thread? she'll need it when she gets back!

janedoe25 · 26/02/2011 15:34

huge congrats oneof4! Love the name Alex, hope you are both well and not in too much pain.

knitta i reckon i will still be here in march! I have an induction booked for next friday, so im hoping to have my baby girl before the end of next weekend...........................

Poor Angels i really hope she is ok.

OMG Ledkr im boking at the thought of you seeing your FIL's bits! Shock

40Weeks · 26/02/2011 15:41

Hello again

Still no news from angels then....? Poor love.

Am sitting on the sofa with my new boy, still no name. He is yummy and seems to be bfing well. He was born with the cord around his neck but thankfully was fine as the midwife didn't have ANY equipment with her - no g&a, no resus stuff just gloves and scales. Was a long boring labour starting on thurs pm, slowed right down til 10pm last night and when I first called the hospital they would not send the mw as they said I wasnt far enough along. Cue another call to them 30mins later and the mw barely got through the door before he was born at 4.31! Small tear, one stitch, nothing major, forgot about the afterpains!

So tired now though, ds1&2 are at pils so we can rest. they seem to like the new addition though Smile

Congrats oneof4

ILovePonyo · 26/02/2011 15:44

Haha ledkr that just made me snort - what a treat for you, naked wrinkly old man!!
Funnily enough we had fish and chips yesterday which they paid for too. I washed up because I have a touch of ocd and mil seems to think rinsing things in cold water is ok for washing up Hmm Hmm Anyway enjoy your Wine later/this afternoon forgotten when sorry.

CONGRATS oneof4! Eek at the meconium, tugging etc but glad you are all safe and well.

knitta may I suggest sleep, sleep and sleeeep! Still have my fingers crossed for you and janedoe - come on babies!

knittakid · 26/02/2011 16:04

eau sorry I mixed things up and thought you had already popped, just been reading your monitoring thread, love the belly dancing videos, wish i had seen them sooner! do it feels really good, have you tried?

Thankjs ponyo might just do that, although it's just an amazing day here and I just want to be at the allotment (out of the question...)

40 I can't believe the amount of times I've heard of mws arriving without equipment, I thinks it's higly irresponsible, what if the oxygen would have been needed? glad you are getting some time for yourselves and that everything went well.

EauRouge · 26/02/2011 16:09

Ooh, I forgot about the belly dancing, damn pregnancy brain! I had a go at the yoga pressure point thing though, that was pretty easy to do. Is it just the 3 of us left then?

MizK · 26/02/2011 16:22

ledkr I think I'll try feeding in the dark tonight, I usually switch on a lamp with fairly soft light but that might be too much? I need her to get into a vague routine for my sanity - having other children with a newborn can be tough! In awe of those with under 5s plus baby!
Must admit I did laugh at thought of you bursting in on Pops in the shower - I'm sure that was an appetising sight (pukes slightly in mouth).

40Weeks · 26/02/2011 17:16

OMG you saw him naked ledkr? eeeeewwwwww, lucky you! Was he embarrassed? Does you need an eye transplant now to remove the memory?

Breezey · 26/02/2011 18:25

40 pleased you got your home delivery, our M/W also just arrivred in time, (mainly 'cos I went from pains every 7 mins, to I want to push now ...) She had left stuff in the house but had no time to get it out until after baby came, she had her gloves with her, and the injection to get the placenta out ! I've tried to feed Tom in the dark at night, but can't seem to get it right, so need to put lights on, maybe we'll get the hang of it. Hope the ungreatful PIL appreciate their GC, my inlaws will have to make do with Skype for months, and no chance of a new baby cuddle, as its too far

wigglesrock · 26/02/2011 18:38

Ledkr Oh what a treat!! Feeling slightly queasy Grin Do you feel a burning desire to wash your eyes out with bleach!!

Congratulations oneofus and 40weeks, enjoy lots of hugs.

All good here, ran up to my mums today, and she had done some grocery shopping for us and had made some food we could freeze!!! Me and my mum are quite close, only after I had the girls, the teenage years and my twenties were a nightmare for us, which is why I keep reminding Mr Wiggles that the baby years are the easy ones, no matter how little sleep you get Grin

Thinking of angels xx

EauRouge · 26/02/2011 21:59

Weeeelllll.... I've been having contractions all afternoon and there are no signs so far of it stopping. Every 20 mins to start with but now every 10 mins. DD has been packed off to Grandma's house (first night apart, ) and DH is currently setting up the pool. This had better not bloody stop now!!! Wish me luck Confused

WaddlingSheep · 26/02/2011 22:03

Hey!

Wow there's been so much activity since the last time I posted!

Congratulations to everyone that has had their babies! Grin Grin Grin

I hope angels posts with some good news soon! Thinking about her.

Hope everyone who is still waiting has their babies in the next couple of days.

Knitta, you sound a bit like I was in the last couple of weeks - contractions and period pains on and off. I had quite a quick easy labour, so maybe you'll have a similar experience! Hope it'll be soon!

We've had our first outing with DD2 today! Smile I was going a bit stir crazy as I haven't been out of the house since Tuesday, when she was born. We had a walk around town and then met some friends in a pub for tea and our DDs (DD1 and their 2 girls) played in the play area.

I'm really enjoying having my 2 lovely girls. It's been an exhausting but amazing week. DD1 has tried my patience at times but I'm trying my hardest not to be short tempered with her as I always feel so guilty afterwards!

WaddlingSheep · 26/02/2011 22:06

Ooh! X posted EauRouge! Hope this is it. Wishing you lots of good luck and good labour vibes!

ledkr · 26/02/2011 22:14

Am now ensconced in my bed with Delilah tucked up next to me after several unsettled hours she,s dreaming i think cos making all sorts of whimpering noises.
Looking forward to updates tomorrow.
Sending good vibes to angels.

knittakid · 26/02/2011 22:34

Oooh eau it's the aubergine!!! Grin hope things are still going and all works out well.

waddling may I ask the forces of the universe to listen to you? Smile

tadjennyp · 26/02/2011 23:24

Congratulations oneof4 and 40. yuk to ledkr's FIL!

EauRouge · 27/02/2011 08:06

Still in labour, MWs came and went, 1 lousy frigging cm after 14 hours of contractions! Managed to get some sleep, contractions started getting strong again about an hour again. Getting really peed off now but at least I'm still at home.

40Weeks · 27/02/2011 08:27

Hang in there eau it will happen, do try and get rest if you can. Best of luck

JustOneMorePlease · 27/02/2011 09:44

Morning all. Sorry haven't been on much, with boys on half term and a poorly toddler it has been busy.

Wanted to ask those a bit further on than us (10 days) if the horrific night sweats have settled or stopped (praying) am spending the precious time in the night when A is asleep to have baths and showers. Sweating like a marathon runner. Midwife had no helpful suggestions or idea of timescale!! It's amazing how quick you forget, can recall them with the others but can't remember when they stopped.

Congrats on the new arrivals, Thomas is my ds1's name and still my fav boys name.

Delia enjoy you're baby, I've been there done the stress about breast/bottle with my ds2 and I now wish I hadn't. Your baby will be 6 before you know it and at school and it will be the last thing on your mind.

Survived the bro and sis in laws. Dh was a star at dealing with them and I think they had been briefed by mil (who is a very sensible one -I'm lucky).

Worried about how the hell tomorrow morning will go with back to school, need to have all 4 ready to leave the house at 8.30 arrrrrrrr.
