Hello

Agree with ledkr don't let them fob you off. Looking back, my ds1 had reflux but they wouldn't entertain that it was anything more than me being a fusspot as him being colicky, despite only bfing. He sobbed when laid down and would only settle when upright and nights were awful. I was so depressed so totally sympathize. My friends little girl had it too but she pushed for a diagnosis and now says she cant believe the difference in her LO now it's been sorted.

Wonder how angels is doing...?

Hope everyone else is ok, wiggles what a nice surprise for dh to be off for a bit longer. Baby not even here and I am dreading mr 40 going back to work Sad maybe we can win the lotto and they can sack it off

NeedToSleepZZZ · 23/02/2011 12:04

Hello there,

Firstly, huge congrats to waddling Smile Hope you're doing well!

Been texting angels and she wanted to let you all know that she's still in hospital (I think they're being awful with her to be honest) as the pessaries haven't worked so they're going to try again tonight but might be a c section tomorrow if no progress. Really feel bad for her and hope it's all over soon.

pinkie sounds dreadful, definitely agree with ledkr and 40 about not letting them fob you off. I was worried about Ben but he's just difficult to wind and takes ages and infacol (love the stuff!). Really hope you get it sorted as it must be hell.

Just had my haircut (my mum did it, can't afford hairdresser now sob sob) and feel bit better as was getting to resemble a witch. I really recommend new mums doing something for themselves that doesn't involve baby, it doesn't have to be much but even if you can paint your toenails or something it gives you a much needed lift. Now to tackle the night sweats and anxiety. ledkr, dont hate me but I'm in some of my pre preg clothes but don't feel pleased about it as think i've lost weight too quickly (and I definitely don't look glamourous like posh).

PDR · 23/02/2011 13:11

Need2 I wish my Mum possessed hairdressing skills! I look a bit shabby Blush Going to have photos taken on Friday morinig and dreading it a bit! I wonder if they can airbrush me Wink?!

I've got a blinking UTI :( Thankfully my fab GP rang me back straight away this morning and prescribed antibiotics so I've had 2 doses already. Seemed to have stopped bleeding now (day 4 today?) but have intense burning when I pee and constantly need the loo!

Gosh I hope poor Angels is ok - I haven't caught up on all the news but am assuming she has had several failed inductions?

knittakid · 23/02/2011 13:47

Thanks for updating us on angels needto, why is it they are doing it all so quickly? she's not terribly overdue as far as I can remember? sorry I am not with it.

Waddling, you promissed to hold my hand till march, and look at you now!!!! I am very Envy but happy for you, really Wink.

Congrats also to bensmum! although poor you witht he placenta trouble, I hope everything heals really quickly.

It seems that the worries don't stop, ever again, right? good luck with HV pinkie.

I am due tomorrow and had mw app today, 4/5 engaged, which is much more than I thought so really happy with that as perhaps some of you remember my mum and aunt telling me that if he hadn't engaged two weeks ago he would just not do it, ever Hmm...

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 13:48

Ahhh poor angels, hope they sort her out soon. She must be so fed up.

My BF just called to day her waters have broken! She isn't due til mid march! Bloody Q jumpers! Although this is her first and it's been a long time coming so am very pleased that her baby is desperate to meet her!

Mw coming round in a min for AN check, surely there is something she can do!!! Lol. Also have reflexology tonight.

Hope all is well with everyone else

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 13:51

Ohh X posted knitta, u and me both due tomorrow! Fingers crossed an all that

PinkiePoo · 23/02/2011 13:58

well update... HV was lovely but yes can't help but feel i was slightly fobbed off. Told her it was not colic and more like reflux. She said where she is not vomiting LOADS it is only mild reflux and that the discomfort is the worst for her. So we are going to try cow and gate Comfort with different teats. She was weighed and she has put on weight so she said she doesn't really need Gaviscon...

Pleased she is gaining weight...but i am now dreading every single night. Got to put her moses basket at a slight incline.

So weird, i brought home a very contented baby who would sleep so well in night, to this....i pray it passes soon!

ledkr thank you so so much...yes it would be great to have someone to talk to who has or is going through it too!!

ILovePonyo · 23/02/2011 15:24

Oh pinkie that sounds frustrating. Are you going to try going to the gp too? I know what you mean about dreading night time - I'm trying not too incase dd picks up on it but its difficult. Good luck with the cow and gate comfort and teats.

I rang my midwife and she said to try Infacol so we are trying that, but I don't know to be honest if it is colic, reflux or what... :( Dd is sleeping now and I have tried to get some sleep but physically can't - am feeling too nervy/anxious. FGS.

Good luck to those of you due tomorrow! Will await any news...

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 15:24

pinkie glad hv wasn't totally useless but if you still think she needs gaviscon then go to the gp, even mild discomfort is t great.

Mw supposed to have been here 3 hrs ago, hmph. Can't bloody go anywhere now and sooooo bored

ILovePonyo · 23/02/2011 15:27

40 3 hours ago?! Have you rang her? How annoying!

knittakid · 23/02/2011 16:49

40 I expect to be here in March, but fingers crossed for you!! feel like a complete idiot as I can't sleep at the mo, any type of lying down is just very uncomfortable and baby starts kicking really hard, so probably squashing him too... last night had to fall asleep sitting up and then gradually slide down...

well, hope the mw has been by now!

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 17:12

Yes as soon as I wrote that she showed up! Everything is fine, but still fed up. Booked for a sweep next thurs Sad the baby was not engaged although that doesnt mean anything this time round, as won't do til last minute. BORED NOW (and know what you mean about uncomfortable knitta I just can't get any rest at the mo) feel guilty for whinging as know I am lucky but god I am so fed up

knittakid · 23/02/2011 18:09

Oh good! (that she showed up). I was offered a sweep next monday, not sure if i'll take it, it'll be only 40+4, will have some monitoring then the following Saturday, so perhaps will wait till then. Hopefully things will hapen by themselves before next thursday! it'd be only a week over, not that uncommon... I vary between being fed up (mainly because of not being able to sleep), being very excited and being very scared and feeling like I need more time...

EauRouge · 23/02/2011 18:28

3 hours late?! How rude! Glad she turned up in the end. I expect to still be here in March too Hmm so you will not be alone. Tonight's attempt is this, which is undoubtedly a bunch of woo, but tasty woo Grin

janedoe25 · 23/02/2011 18:41

Knitta i had a sweep today at 40+3 was just a bit uncomfortable. Seems to have done something though as i have just lost my mucous plug! Hope baby comes soon .......................

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 19:14

Ooh good Jane hope it proves the start of something! Best of luck

hubbard86 · 23/02/2011 19:21

ozzysocks · 23/02/2011 19:48

Hi Everyone hope everything is going OK

Baby Laura was born on Monday 21st Feb at 9.54 7lb15. It was a straightforward ELCS and We got home today. She is beautiful and feeding v well so far.

I am in totally love with my daughter :)SPD has gone Grin and instead have a sore wound, cracked painful nipples, afterpains from hell and anaemia. Its obviously all worth it and its great to be home, off to get some sleep now, will catch up soon.

Good luck tomorrow hubbard

knittakid · 23/02/2011 19:52

Ooh I love that dish eau, might be something to do with the umami in both parmesan and aubergines? good luck!

jane I hope it does work! will be awaiting news from you then!

Very good luck for tomorrow hubbard and congrats ozzy!

Oneof4 · 23/02/2011 20:42

Anyone heard from Angels? Hope they're treating her much better now.

Hubbard that's so exciting. Best of luck - hope it all goes very smoothly.

I believe that I have now officially undertaken every old wives tale to stimulate labour.... long walks, curry, climbing stairs, nipple tweaking and - yes ladies - I finally summoned up the will to engage in some maritals today. If something does kick off now I will have no idea what caused it! The good news is that I've finally had a show this evening, so something's moving in there...

Best of luck to everyone else who's waiting. Hang in there those of you who already have your LOs safely delivered and are grappling with the next set of challenges!

40Weeks · 23/02/2011 21:11

Nice one oneof4 I have given dh his instructions re maritals for tonight "your drunken escapades put it in there, they can damn well get it out!" just finished reflexology too, she really went for broke so hope it won't be long.

ozzysocks congrats to you, hope everything heals up nice and quick for you

Good luck Hubbard we will all be thinking of you

NeedToSleepZZZ · 23/02/2011 21:20

Poor angels is being kept in again and moved to antenatal ward instead of labour ward as they're so busy Angry Hmm

Good luck to hubbard for tomorrow and congratulations ozzy Smile

Are we going to have a postnatal thread when everyone has popped? Really hope so as I'd be lost without you lot!

Ben smiled at me for the first time today after weeing all over his face and me, I'm sure it was a proper smile but is it too early? Please don't say it was wind! Wink

wigglesrock · 23/02/2011 21:31

Ozzysocks congratulations on baby Laura.

Hubbard Good luck for tomorrow.

needtosleep Although we know its too early, both Mr Wiggles and I swear that Anna smiled at us yesterday, she is also waving her little fists like mad whenever the girls come near her, trying to grab their hair Grin. Thinking of angels, hope she is managing to get some rest.

knittakid · 23/02/2011 21:34

Of course it was a loving smile needto!

Poor angels! hope she's taking at least some drugs to relax a bit...

oneof if I had a show i'd be over the moon! well done you, but yes, as controlled experiments go yours is no good, but who cares, something must work!

Just watched one born every minute for the first time in my life (the replay from Monday) and could not stop crying! I wonder what will i be like when am in that situation...

tadjennyp · 23/02/2011 21:40

Congratulations ozzy - lovely news! Good luck tomorrow hubbard and hope things are moving Jane. Hope all reflux and feeding issues resolve themselves really soon so new mummies can sleep!
