Took it upon myself to start a new thread. Everyone's popping right now!

PS: Sorry for the awful rhyme, it was all I could think of Blush

Hope things start moving along soon Angels!

PinkiePoo · 18/02/2011 10:19

Hello all....

Congrats to everyone who has popped and good luck to those who have,'t. I haven't been able to read all the posts, waaaay too many!!

Well Molly Beau was born on the 11th Feb, induced on the 10th...given epidural early, no real progress, on the 11th epidural wore off and no longer worked...and still on 7cm by the eve, so ended up with a c-sec.

Unfortunately, where my waters broke but didn't give birth until 2 days later, Molly caught a little infection. We spent a week in hospital while she was on antibiotics. Such a worrying time, and spent the whole week crying when i should have been at home....but finally made it home last night.

She is such a quiet baby girl...a bit lazy with the feeds, but we are getting there.

Hope everyone else is all well x x

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 10:58

congrats pinkie Grin . So glad Molly is OK after her infection and hope your recovering well from the csec.

BHs and period pain have returned - come on baby - only a couple of days to get yourself out before induction day.

knittakid · 18/02/2011 11:50

angels hope this is it! perhaps a walk would also help?

pinkie glad you are at home now and hope you are having some nice cuddles with little Molly!

one how annoying! and it must be really painful! on the other hand contraction every tem minutes is promissing, isn't it?

My bookcase is really a square with a shelf in the middle, so perhaps not as astonishing as I made it sound...

My TENS uses 9V batteries, which are quite expensive, it came with one and I have another one but not sure if it has been used before, any thoughts?

smallblackflowers · 18/02/2011 12:53

angels I'll race you Smile.
A quick update - went into the hospital for monitoring this morning - all good with bubba, and am having regular (fairly mild) contractions. As it has been more than 24 hours since my waters broke I have to be on IV antibiotics during labour to prevent the baby getting an infection (I guess similar to pinky 's little Molly). I have to go back in for monitoring tomorrow morning, but overheard the midwife telling them that she didn't think I'd make it as I was 'contracting regularly' yay. I hope she's right!

knitta you must be very proud of your bookcase - I would be anyway!

earlgrey have updated your stats so they will be right next time I post them. Smile

Tarlia · 18/02/2011 13:02

Hey all.

How exciting, angels, good luck!

pinkie pleased to hear you and Molly have made it home and are doing well. We spent 5 nights in too, so can't sympathis. It's so nice to be home, isn't it. Enjoy those snuggles.

ledkr they really are awful. I hope you enjoy your weekend of peace without them!

I'm soooo jealous of all of these babies that are allowed to sleep for so long! Since bubs was only 6lb6oz I have to feed every 3 hours, since he is so sleepy feeding takes an hour! So I don't remember what it feels like to sleep for more than 2 hour blocks.

I seem to be feeding double cream though, at day 9 he has made his birth weight and an extra 2lb. His lowest was -3lb! Wee porker :-) Which is fantastic as I had to express and top up with formula on day 3 as he'd not fed at all really and couldn't stay awake enough to latch on at all. He literally sleeps all the time between feeds, it's amazing!

For those thinking of expressing, I can highly reccomend the Avent electric pump. It's not like the hospital grade ones I was using, but it's very quick. I can express 80ml in 10 mins. I could probably feed half of SCBU.

Tarlia · 18/02/2011 13:04

Ooooh, how exciting! Good luck, sbf!

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 13:05

knitta no idea how many you'll need with 9vs but they sell branded batteries cheap online (somewhere like amazon maybe) if you think you've got time to wait for delivery and want to stock up incase. Or (you've got a hb haven't you?) buy a couple of rechargeable 9vs and a charger and then while one is charging you can use the other one, and then swap. Think they sell things like that in homebase type shops.

sbf think you'll beat me hands down - things quietened down over here for now :( good luck and hopefully we'll hear your news very soon.

DOn't think we've heard from delia since her upset message where she thought she was never going into labour - I wonder if that message was enough to send her into labour Hmm

pinkie - meant to ask - as a fellow self confessed weed with pain how did you find the whole labour/birth experience? [nervous emoticon]

ledkr · 18/02/2011 17:09

angels stop it repeat after me,"i will be fine" if i could drive id be on my way now to hold your hand.

oneof do you remember i had gallstone attack at about 32 wks,AGONY, it can be triggered by pg.I have avoided fat for a while but am now back on with no probs so far.

pinkie your birth experience sounds like mine.Must be in the dancing genes Confused
I still feel robbed of those first special days and like you think i cried for days.
Try to claw it back now tho,i am planning the mother of all half terms now, lots of family time etc to make up for it (made 100% better by lack of selfish pils)Congrats on Mollie,is she going to dance?Dd and ds started at 2 so the teacher has already eyed up Delilah haha.

Just been to D's first cleft appointment. They were very nice to us and it seems that she will have the op at around 6+ months and its fairly straight forward, felt a lot better tbh.

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 17:14

yes mamaledkr Wink I will be fine...

What no PIL this weekend? I haven't kept up with AIBU and clearly have missed too much - what did you do to scare them off?!

Glad cleft apt went well.

In the interest/hopes of getting things started before induction monday DH are going to attempt marital relations for the first time in yonks. I just can't see how it will work but should at least give me a good laught Grin. Btw - you can do that if you've had a show can't you (just incase I did)? It's only if your waters break you can't have any action isn't it????

Oneof4 · 18/02/2011 17:24

Ledkr - great to hear you've had no further gallstone attacks...I really, really couldn't bear going through that too often. Agony! Weirdly, I'm quite looking forward to being able to this (hopefully imminent) childbirth and give a definitive comparison for all those who have told me the gallstones are worse! Here's hoping...

LOL at Ledkr wagging her finger at Angels. I feel like I'm back at school!

Well done on the double cream Tarlia!

So come on ladies...who's next?!

Oneof4 · 18/02/2011 17:25

"...being able to compare this {hopefully imminent}..."obviously.

Can't even string a complete sentence together anymore...

tadjennyp · 18/02/2011 18:08

Congratulations pinkie, glad you are home now and Molly is doing well. Sorry about the gallstones and I hope that clears up really soon. The hospital here gave me a squeezy bottle to pour warm water all over my undercarriage when peeing or pooing and that helped initally.

Samuel spent yesterday afternoon feeding all the time and the older two were in foul moods so I was shattered by the time dh got home. Then I went to teach and of course S didn't feed at all while I was out. He must have smelled me as he woke up a minute after I got home!

Hope everyone is doing really well, either with the final few days or the lovely newborns. Smile

wigglesrock · 18/02/2011 18:21

Congratulations Pinkie Molly is a lovely name, hope you really enjoy your time at home now.

Ledkr glad first appt went well, enjoy half term, dds half term finishes today and it was lovely this week with everyone home.

Anna is doing really well, she hasn't lost any weight since birth and has put a little on, midwife v impressed Smile especially as she has a little jaundice. Mr Wiggles went down and registered her today, so we are organising her passport next week!!!!

Angels Good luck with the marital relations, you're a braver woman than me Smile

Deliaskis · 18/02/2011 20:26

LOL at all the lovely messages after my blue one! Yes, baby must have decided to take pity on me, as I went into labour Tuesday night and had my little girl Claudia on Wednesday at 13.22. Didn't really think I was in labour at first, just achey and thought it was BH again, then at about 1.30am I started to think maybe there was more to it, by 3am was convinced, and went into hosp at 6.30am. Had been using TENS at home and was really still coping OK when I got to hosp and was half expecting to be told to go home as I wasn't dilated, but turns out I was already 6-7cm and they took me straight into a delivery room. I got in the pool about 8am and that was nice. Intended to stay in, but around 12.30 started to feel a bit panicky and reeeeeeeally wanted more pain relief (I guess this was transition?) than just the G&A by then, so I got out, and by the time I had got to the bed it really felt like time to push. That bit wasn't so bad really. She popped out at 13.22, and was considerate enough to be just 6lb9oz, and I just had a tiny tear that seems to be doing OK.

She's just gorgeous, natch Wink! It's quite overwhelming, the whole being a Mummy thing, but she's just perfect.

Came out of hosp today at lunchtime (so 2 nights in). Getting to grips with BF but she's not 'demanding' as often as she's supposed to (conflicting advice from MWs, feed on demand, but really should be every 2-3 hrs not more than 4 - OK so if she doesn't feed at 4 what then!), but getting there slowly.

It feels great to be home, I'm a bit up and down hormonally though, I love her to bits but there's lots to worry about!

So sorry for long and probably ineloquent post, but wanted to update, and share my story. Also sorry for not responding properly to all your lovely posts following my blue one, I've had lots going on!!

Congrats to all the other new arrivals, and good luck and hang in there to all those waiting, you will get there, probably just when you're reaching the end of your tether!

Dx

wigglesrock · 18/02/2011 20:55

Deliaskis Brillant news, beautiful name, enjoy lots of cuddles, talk to you soon x

ElleB1980 · 18/02/2011 21:08

Evening all,

Really haven't had chance to catch up with all the posts as have been in hospital since early on Tuesday. I finally went into labour on Monday evening, turned up at the hospital on Tuesday morning as had an induction booked anyway, no induction given as I was in labour....cut a long story short I was still at exactly the same point on Thursday morning so my waters were broken, I progressed over the day to full dilation, finally got to the pushing stage only to discover the baby was stuck! I was whisked to theatre and ended up with an emcs after over 3 days of labour!

Romilly is definitely worth it though although we're still in the hospital and she hasn't cracked feeding at all yet.

Good luck to those with impending arrivals and to those with babies....how cool are they?!

Tarlia · 18/02/2011 21:11

Congratulation Delia! Another little tiddler. I love her name! I was told that I was to wake my little man to be fed every 3 hours (from when he last started feeding), which can be tricky as he could sleep for ever! He falls asleep mid fed too, so has to be woken up again.

Beautiful photos, wiggles. You make pretty little ones :)

PinkElephant73 · 18/02/2011 22:00

Hi all,
Congrats Delia, and ElleB

Don't worry too much about the feeding intervals in the first couple of days - my LO went about 10 hours without a feed (and I did try) on her first day, she was just sleeping off the effects of labour I think.

Some babies do take a while to get the hang of feeding, especially if you have a long labour as they are tired too. they will be more interested once your milk comes in! its a good idea to stay in hospital until you feel confident with the feeding as help is on hand, (in theory). I remember with DS1 (very sleepy baby) I finally took him home on day 3 when he finally worked out to latch on without the MW waving my boob at him.

janedoe25 · 18/02/2011 22:21

Congrats Delia and Ell enjoy your lovely baby snuggles!

tadjennyp · 18/02/2011 22:50

Lovely names and congratulations Delia and ElleB. They're coming thick and fast now, aren't they? Grin

americanexpat · 19/02/2011 00:24

I've not had time to catch up with the thread but Leo arrived Tuesday evening. I woke up at 2am in labour, was coping at home with the TENS until about 8am and was 4cm when we got to the hospital. I laboured in the pool most of the day and was coping well with no pain relief, but he was stuck so after 3 hours of pushing, I had a forceps delivery and 3rd degree tearing. The spinal block in theatre to stitch me up was divine. Grin We were released from hospital this afternoon and I'm quite happy to be home. Now for some sleep!

tadjennyp · 19/02/2011 00:57

Yay,congratulations expat, more exciting news! Sorry about the tear.

wigglesrock · 19/02/2011 06:28

Congratulations americanexpat, I love the name Leo, it was my choice had dd1 been a boy. Yes I am up early, Anna likes to get up at 5.30ish, then sleep until 9am Grin.

slowangels1 · 19/02/2011 08:05

congrats delia and elle and expat. What a happy start to the day (despite the emerg csec following 3 days of labour Shock and tearing). delia I mentioned you on here yesterday wondering if you had had your little one since you haadn't come back since your upset rant and I thoght something might have happened Grin

Still no baby here yet despite managing marital relations to try to start things off last night [oddly proud emoticon]. Needless to say it was quite a laughable and uncomfortable experience Blush . Think I've tried nearly everything now Confused .
