Congrats to canoe and ponyo and congrats to runDMC on your pregnancy!

Good luck sbf, it's definitely your turn next!

EDD for me tomorrow! Still no sign of anything although the last couple of nights I've dreamt that I've gone into labour and then... nothing Angry

Today's total woo update Grin - tomorrow morning there is a full moon and as old wives tales will have it, more women go into labour during a full moon so here's hoping for lots more babies tomorrow and Saturday!

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 13:18

eau I keep waking up thinking my waters have broken whilst I've been sleeping for the past few nights, but no, it's just a really really cold bed sheets (DH has been banished and I love the room cold for some reason Confused ) and quite a bit of discharge making me feel moist Blush . One of these days...

Have just polished the brass front door knocker and letter box - unscrewed them from the door and everything to do a really thorough job [proud emoticon]. Hope this nesting means things might move along before induction [hopeful emotiocn].

debka · 17/02/2011 15:29

mama ledkr thanks for the telling off- you're right of course, had a minor crash yesterday when I didn't get my sleep due to BLOODY in-laws turning up and wanting to be fed and entertained whilst DOUBLE BLOODY DH worked on his precious computer!! Was so cross.

S is such a sleepy little thing, all day I worry she's sleeping too much, she sleeps loads more than DD1 did but she still sleeps at night too. She's feeding pretty frequently though, haven't had more than 2 hours sleep together for a while [sad pathetic emoticon]. Have taken to feeding her in front of the telly at night and have discovered a New World of TV- watched World's Strictest Parents last night, and even sat there for an extra 10 minutes with a sleeping baby so I could see the end! Have also learnt a lot about gondoliers??!!.....!!

rundmc am delighted to hear of yr pg- when ledkr mentioned the poor ladies who'd lost babies I welled up, so it was lovely to hear a happy story. When are you due?

smallblackflowers · 17/02/2011 17:09

The midwife agreed that my hind waters had gone, so now I'm on a countdown..have to go in to be monitored first thing tomorrow if no action before then, and they will come up with a plan of care for me, which may involve a sooner induction. Baby is 4/5 engaged now. Have been partaking in activities to encourage labour this afternoon (luckily DH is working from home Blush) and am planning on a hot curry for dinner tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for me please Smile

EauRouge · 17/02/2011 17:37

Yay, sbf is next Grin Good luck, hope all goes well and you have a baby announcement for us very soon!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/02/2011 17:51

ledkr you're absolutely right about remembering those who haven't made it to this point, it puts things in perspective and made me realise how lucky i am.

sbf getting excited for you, hope things start tonight! enjoy your curry Grin

i've made an appt with my gp for tomorrow but have felt quite a bit better and calmer today so may just end up complaining about my foot (been hurting when i walk for over 2 months now but i thought it was due to pg weight Blush), no i will tell him in case today's a one off. you lot have really helped me feel a bit more normal though, thank you! debka I have also succumbed to world's strictest parents in the middle of the night, that and sun sea and something (too tired to remember the full title!), night time tv is so rubbish isn't it?!!

so pleased, ben slept for 4 HOURS last night, longest yet!!!!!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/02/2011 17:53

Think I might have had a show whilst in the bath Shock . Well, not sure, put a thread on pg and someone came back straight away saying it was but I have no idea. I've just put on my new nursing nightie to test it out so knowing my luck my waters will now break all over it! Trying not to get too excited and feeling quite Confused

ledkr · 17/02/2011 19:31

cordiality · 17/02/2011 20:01

Hi all new mummies and mummies to be. Haven't had a chance to catch up on all the thread but congrats to all who've had their babies and fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for everyone still waiting!

Our lovely news is that baby Florence Grace was born on Saturday 12th at 3.30am weighing 6lbs 9oz, and she's absolutely gorgeous... well at least we think so!

Labour was pretty good considering, starting getting pains at about 8.30 on Friday night, went into hospital at midnight when my waters went and baby came a few hours later. I had meconium in my waters so they were monitoring us very closely and ended up giving her a little tug out with the ventouse as her heartbeat was dipping a bit, but we were very lucky all in all, and I am pretty much in one piece except for a nasty graze that stings TO BUGGERY when I wee!

So far Florence sleeps and sleeps and sleeps, am having no luck with breastfeeding but am feeding her expressed milk and she seems pretty content with that.

Looking forward to reading everyone else's stories!

linz17xxx · 17/02/2011 21:01

Hi all just a quick post to let you know baby gracie may was born on valentines day at 6.38am after a ten hour labour which wasn't too bad. She weighs 8lb 3oz and is absolutely beautiful with bright blonde hair :)

debka · 17/02/2011 21:12

wigglesrock · 17/02/2011 21:28

Great news about the arrivals coming thick and fast.

slowangels thanks, the girls are absolutely besotted with Anna, she's only been here 2 days but it feels like we've had her forever. I will be posting over the weekend but incase real life takes over Smile just wanted to wish you luck for Monday, you'll be brillant and your little girl will be with you so soon xxx

Ledkr afraid I'd feel tempted to stick the hoover somwhere dh mightn't enjoy!! I will not even comment on the in-laws, do not trust myself to keep it appropriate Grin

sbf good luck x

40Weeks · 17/02/2011 21:43

Oh angels hopefully things are happening!

Congrats to cordiality and linz!

40 I know how you feel! still a week to go though...

Question about TENS machine, how many spare batteries should I have?

knittakid · 17/02/2011 23:16

Oh, and sorry, wanted to share, today I finished my woodworking class and came home proudly carrying a bookcase!

Oneof4 · 17/02/2011 23:51

A bookcase, Knitta? Very impressed!

So, I was having a nice potter around home today when suddenly an agonising pain started to grow just beneath my right ribcage, then stretched right round my back until I couldn't breathe, couldn't find any way of easing the agony, was in tears, nearly passed out, felt very woozy indeed... Long story short - we spent the next six hours at the ante natal assessment unit before they told me I have - wait for it - GALLSTONES. I'm 36 and a size ten (well, pre-pg!) for heavens' sake. I thought it was fat old blokes who got gallstones. Apparently not...

Obviously the good news is that the baby is A okay...in fact the monitor thing showed that I was having contractions every ten minutes, which was a bit of a surprise. Wonder if this means things are reving up in there. Anyone have any ideas?

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 08:38

congrats cordiality and linz :)

bookcase knitta? Very impressed Grin

knitta re: tens I have no idea. My machine came with 4 AAs but in my hospital bag I also have 2 massive multipacks of batteries as I have ipod speakers and an ipod battery back up requiring them too and I am not intending on running out! I'm also wondering at what point to put the tens machine on - my mw says to put it on as soon as you think you're in labour (something about the earlier you start with it the more effective it will be) but at what point do I know I'm in labour anyway and maybe it will be too late by then.

Thanks for all the well wishes. After the show incident I had period pain for a few hours mixed in with some very odd feeling braxton hicks (every time I write that I want to call them toni braxtons!). Spent a sleepless night with them on and off convinced it was the start of labour but now nothing this morning other than maybe a bit of period pain Confused. It's a case of close, but no sausage for me.

one what a time to find out you have gallstones Shock

earlgreyismynectar · 18/02/2011 09:26

Congratulations to all of the new mummy's! & yes we want to hear all of the gory details of the birth stories! It's getting busy on here!

Lots of luck to all of you still waiting, SBF sounds promising, not long now.

Harry has been feeding well and sleeping for between 3-5 hours until last night!!! V wakeful night but I still adore him!

To whoever tore and is agony peeing, I was like this last time after I tore when having DD. You're probably already doing this but it really helped me to pee in the shower with the shower head directed there to dilute! Also try to drink lots of water so your pee's not too concentrated. It's hell I remember. I tore this time too, forgot to mention that, local anaesthetic in the fanjo almost made childbirth seem like a doddle! Grin

Oh correction for the stats though I'm sure you're busy havIng a baby SBF! But midwives miscalculated the conversion of Harry's weight from kilo's to pounds and he was actually 8lb5oz not 3oz. Not important but those extra 2oz were felt!

In two minds whether to crash out whilst Harry sleeps & risk midwife arriving to check on me or get up & showered...

Lots of luck all of you still waiting, I'll check back soon!
