Took it upon myself to start a new thread. Everyone's popping right now!

PS: Sorry for the awful rhyme, it was all I could think of Blush

Hey everyone. Hope you are all well! So happy to hear about all the new bundles, many congratulations!! Also excited to hear about all the shows and inductions, good luck!

Angels make sure both whatever you are wearing for the induction and then when labour starts is old/dark, that you don't mind getting covered in blood/gunk. Luckily I was wearing hospital pjs before my induction as within 30 mins I was in full blown labour from nothing and was stuck to the bed (so much for my active labour!) so would not have been able to change. I didn't even have a labour bag as it was abandoned on the ward!

All well with my little cutie, he is a week old today and still nameless :(. The mothers are being pains in the arses, I'm getting pretty depressed about the whole thing. Good news, we were finally released from hospital on Monday afternoon, it's so lovely to be
settling in at home. I have to feed at least every 3 hours, so needless to say, pretty exhausted as feeding can take up to an hour of that time due to him being such a sleepy boy. But he is so worth it, I never expected to feel this in love.

I look forward to reading all your news in the coming days. Take care and really enjoy your sleep and rest!

WaddlingSheep · 16/02/2011 22:01

Delighted to hear of more baby news! Congratulations to Iloveponyo, Breezey and Justonemoreplease! Well done girls!

I am officially fed up! I am sick of being fat and I'm sick of wearing ill fitting clothes, walking like John Wayne and just being generally HUGE. I would like this baby to come out now please! God knows I've loved being pregnant and I'll probably miss it when it's over and feel quite sad but I waaaant my body baaaack!

ozzysocks · 16/02/2011 22:09

Hi I haven't caught up with rest of thread completely but lots of congrats to everyone with beautiful babes and best of luck to everyone else!

I have suddenly developed SPD today at 38+2 and now resting a lot as can barely walk/move :(. I can't believe how painful it is,I really feel for anyone who has suffered throughout pregnancy with it. I feel so lucky that I have elcs booked for monday as more than a few days of this must be unbearable.

So glad I have my lovely mum to help (she has come over from France to stay with us) with the 2 DS's as they are extra hyper at moment with all the baby excitement :)

ledkr Apparently I had an infected scar with my previous emcs from doing too much, DS has told me this as I have absolutely no memory of itHmm I would take this to mean I must have recovered quick from it or would remember, anyway I hope yours gets better soon.

MissTFied · 16/02/2011 22:34

Congrats Justone and Ponyo.

Justone - you have scared me with your quick birth post! This will also be my fourth and I'm terrified I won't get to the hospital in time! Aargh!

Well, had sweep today. Used to them by now. Nothing happening, although baby is 1/5 engaged and I'm 2 cm dilated. Wouldn't have known it though.

Have just made dp do his duty to get this baby out...needs must!

ledkr · 16/02/2011 22:36

Was just thinking with all the good news we should all spare a thought for all the ladies on this thread who didnt make it this far and remember how lucky we are.Sorry if thats a bit sad but think we should.

WaddlingSheep · 17/02/2011 06:44

That's true Ledkr Sad. I only joined this thread after I'd reached 12 weeks but I lurked for a bit. There were a few that had to leave weren't there Sad

I feel quite bad for whinging as there are a lot of women who would give their eyeteeth to be in this position! Makes you realise how lucky you are doesn't it?

canoe · 17/02/2011 07:17

Morning all, sorry i havent had time to read all the other messages but congratulations to everyone who's delivered.

Leo Joseph arrived at 5.30 pm on 13 Feb weighing 8lb 2oz, after a fairly epic 40 hour labour! Not quite what we were expecting, but all went well in the end and he's fine.

All's going well now we seem to have a champion sleeper which is great - think he takes after DP in that! Feeding is going well, although my milk's now come in so i'm huge!!!

Will post a more detailed birth story later if people are interested

Hope everyone else is either enjoying their new arrivals, or managing to wait patiently for theirs.

WaddlingSheep · 17/02/2011 07:37

Congratulations canoe! Smile Yes to more detailed birth story - I do love a good birth story!

tadjennyp · 17/02/2011 07:44

Congratulations canoe - where did you give birth in the end? Glad he's sleeping well. It is sad about those who didn't make it this far, isn't it? Sad

ledkr · 17/02/2011 07:53

well done canoe.
Great nwws.
Delilah was awake for a while in the night so am feeling half dead.I think its cos she was forced to stay up with Dad and watch the arsenal game, boooooooring.

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 08:07

Great news iloveponyo and canoe (long time no hear from botswana - if I remember correctly :) )

thanks for the advice re: clothes/nightwear for hospital. AM going to finalise my hospital bag today in the hope it triggers something in my brain that, yes, I am ready (or ready as I'll ever be) for baby to arrive and if she want to start coming before she's forced on monday then that's fine by me Grin .

ledkr glad D is putting on weight now and will await with baited breath what happens at the PIl visit. Just as well you have an en suite - you'll have no reason to need to leave your room with your freeview and sneaky snacks Wink . Thanks also re: the kind words of good luck for mon.

tarlia hope no name gets a name soon. We thought we'd narrowed ours down to 2 options, put it on mn for feedback and inadvertantly nearly started an argument on the thread where there were big disagreements over the name 'bessie' (one of our middle name options) Shock

Agree completely re: others who didn't make it - I still think of them often. Must be a really tough time for them thinking this would have been when they were due - I know when I had a mc and it finally got to my would have been due date I found it quite hard thinking about what would have/could have been.

Had a pg massage yesterday, which was nice, but not overly relaxing with the massage lady giving me a running commentry throughout on exactly what she was doing when all I wanted to do was close my eyes and relax Confused

ledkr · 17/02/2011 08:13

oh how annoying,a chatty massage, kind of defeats the object really. We had a chatterbox popped in UNNANNOUNCED yesterday, she talked all thru lunch time and my bath went cold!Dh sloped off on the pc and the phones didnt stop ringing.Dh was answering them but still passing it to me wtf? I ended up having a massive breakdown cry when my friend arrived.I was hungery, tired and dirty. Will be aiming for a quieter day today tho,an sending texts to say wont be answering the phone.

ledkr · 17/02/2011 08:14

hungery?? haha

Oneof4 · 17/02/2011 08:45

Tarlia glad to hear they've let you out and you're getting settled at home, though huge sympathy for having to put up with interfering mothers. :( Just what you need.

RunDMC · 17/02/2011 09:56

hi ladies, hope you don't mind me peeking in and saying hi and congrats to all of you who've popped and good vibes to those of you still waiting. Have been lurking (hope that's not a bit weird !) for the last month or so as I wanted to see what happened at the end of the story for you all.

I was on the board at the start (Dee36) but bowed out at 12 weeks with a mmc. Lovely to have your thoughts and I'm delighted to let you know I'm now 17 weeks pg and looking forward to what's ahead.

Take care - and it's great (albeit a bit scary !) to read about the birth experiences !!

Dee

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 10:00

hello dee/rundmc - fab to hear from you and I'm so happy things are going better for you this time - that's made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside [hormonal pg lady emoticon] . Hope you keep us updated once you have your LO when this thread has moved over to the post natal Grin

knittakid · 17/02/2011 10:04

Massive congratulations to all the new arrivals!!! please please post your birth stories if you can, I find them very beautiful and encouraging.

I think quite often about those early days and those that didn't make it, it seems quite amazing to be 39 weeks now, and remember quite clearly the uncertainty and worry of those early days, perhaps because that does not change! It must be a really hard time to get to what would have been your edd, can't really begin to imagine it.

My friend (who is a GP) gave me some (half a small shot) of her blueberry vodka (home made and weak) last night, and today I feel terrible! hangover and so on, have i done somethign terrible? Blush she said it's labour inducing... I just feel very guilty now.

Sorry to moan.

knittakid · 17/02/2011 10:05

Ooooh crossposted Dee, congratulations! and thank you for letting us know! all the best to you.

WaddlingSheep · 17/02/2011 10:08

That's wonderful RunDMC! Smile I don't think we've met but thank you for popping in and sharing your good news. Hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

WaddlingSheep · 17/02/2011 10:14

Knitta I doubt you've done any harm although I am Smile a little at your half a vodka shot hangover! Take it easy on the champers when the baby arrives Wink you'll be in bed for a week Grin. Maybe you feeling ill is the start of things? Hope so!

WaddlingSheep · 17/02/2011 10:16

Sorry that you feel terrible, btw!

40Weeks · 17/02/2011 10:51

Congratulations on all of these new bubbas (autocorrect wantedto change them to "ninjas" ha ha) well done ladies, am loving the birth stories, you must all be very proud of yourselves.

Good luck for Monday angels I hope everything goes well for you, keep us posted if you can!

And good luck for the weekend ledkr I hope it goes well ( or at the very least we get some good gossip on here Monday) Grin

Had reflexology again last night, also got on the trampoline with ds's and listened to my hypnobirthing cd but deep down I know baby won't come til ready but am fed up waiting and still have 1 week to go. Still, I went to get a nursing bra from Rigby & Pellar to cheer myself up but it's so practical and boring (despite being the most comfortable bra ever) and have never shopped there before, wish I had something more exotic to show for it!

Great to hear your good news rundmc all the best to you

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 11:07

ohhh 40 I have rigby envy Envy . I always go there and wanted to get my nursing bras there but just couldn't be bothered manage the trip to bluewater. If it interests you (since you live near) there's a shop in maidstone called 'pregalicious' that I found that do free home bra fittings for maternity/nursing bras that I went with - all very easy - lovely lady came over to my house to fit me and prices are rrp or lower. Got a dull looking anita nursing bra and a rather more exotic looking one from hot milk Grin . I still maintain that rigby do the best fittings though - if it's good enough for the queen, it's good enough for angels1 and 40 Wink

knitta let us know if the shot works - we might all have to give it a go then Wink

Am just finishing my hospital bags Hmm. Have now got a 'needed for during induction' rucksack, 'needed during labour/birth' sports bag, food bag ( Blush I just have a funny diet), cool bag (for cold drinks), and a post natal ward bag (that can stay in the car until needed). Oh, and a 'probably won't be needed but stash in the car just incase' bag. Am I overdoing it?!!! I'm really bad at packing lightly - can you tell Grin

smallblackflowers · 17/02/2011 12:14

canoe congratulations Grin

ledkr really pleased to hear about D's weight gain, and agree that some of our thoughts should be with those who left us. Sad

tarlia lovely to hear that you are home and both doing well. Fingers crossed the right name comes up soon for you.

Think my waters may have started going this morning - am awaiting the midwife at the mo, who will check and hopefully not tell me that I've made it up and actually just wet myself! It felt exactly the same as when my hind waters went with DD - the rest didn't go until she was born. Will let you know. At 40+11 I'm sure I deserve to be next!

smallblackflowers · 17/02/2011 12:18

angels that sounds very much like what I've packed - barring the cool bag, but I'm now thinking about digging one out for my drinks!

rundmc lovely to hear your update. I hope all goes well for you Smile
