Disclaimer: do not buy the dark denim jeans from New Look if you have a light coloured couch and dont be alarmed by the fact your legs have a blue tinge the first few times you wear them :o

Scorpette · 05/02/2011 12:23

Ned's Atomic Dustbin for me, Boo! Grin

Medee, it will come as absolutely no surprise to you or any other PESH that I didn't have to wait for my over-bump jeans to fit...

Booty, I found Mothercare sizing quite good, so you would probably still be a 14 there. My skinny jeans from there are the comfiest thing e-vah (they don't skimp on the lycra, huzzah).

I really like those chinos, Bitey - I might have to flash the cash :)

Bleeeaaargh, I have a killer headache that's not responding to paracetamol and we're supposed to be going to our local Save Our Libraries event. And it's bloody raining (we're walking). Must HTFU! Sad

owlbooty · 05/02/2011 12:23

Thank you for all these top ideas, PESHies :)

rocket I have a sewing machine but it always results in sweariness and broken needles. And yes, I know what you mean about the blue sofa/legs, have been there and done that too Grin

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 13:24

give it a go bootycall you only have to sew about 5 cm :o and it really does have wondrous results. Has opened up a whole world of jeans that I could never have worn as most of them don't seem to take into consideration that some with size 14 thighs might actually have a waist! They are always massively gapy at the back, i mean who has a fat back? Confused

I like the cut of those chinos too but i dont 'do' light stoney colours on my lower half. I wish they did them in khaki.

Medee · 05/02/2011 13:30

I am having rage at Asda today - not a shop I frequent anyway, proven by the horrible layout and terrible carpark - as I went in today to collect my free Huggies as part of their Baby Club, and there were none apparent on the shelf, and "customer" "service" was non-existant (the school of: if it's not on the shelf, we don't have it). Bah! How not to turn a Sainsbury's shopper into an Asda one.

Only redeeming feature is the cheap foil containers, about a fifth of the price of the Lakeland ones.

PollyPoo · 05/02/2011 15:27

Would anyone like to buy a large Aquaborn Eco Birth Pool? I bought it from a friend for £85 (RRP approx £180 new) who never got to use it. I sadly didn't get to use it either but it has been inflated several times, half filled to test and then filled when my waters went.

It comes with a hose, tap connector, sieve, pump for emptying, thermometer, elec air pump to inflate/deflate, and inflatable lid to keep water warm. Buyer will have to collect from S Somerset - we are half an hr east from the M5 Taunton juntion. PM me and I can send more info if you are interested!

Also free to good home the following...

baby whisperer book
baby whisperer solves all your problems book
dunstan baby language dvd (region 1)

I'm sure there will be more to follow as I sort things out! Was going to ebay it but thought I'd offer it here first.

Ginsters you are quiet... are you laying? I hope the off roading works for Clucks and babyCho .... get a bloody move on!

Love karate chops and ripe brie to you all.

Medee · 05/02/2011 16:28

Hello Polly!

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 16:32

Hey pollster was going to contact you when I realised HB might be back on but have found out I can hire from the MW unit up here, hope you find a taker! How's things?

Scorpette · 05/02/2011 18:33

Ooooooh, Pollypocket! C'mere for a frenchie How are you all? Give BB and Boo kisses from Aunty Scorps :) Have FBed you.

Medee, Asda are rubbish, I concur. We nipped into one in Devon and had to ask a routine question (very politely) at CS and you'd've thought I was giving the girl a mouthful of abuse. Sainsbury's and Waitrose will always have my heart.

Talking of maternity togs, I ordered this and this from ASOS Maternity (the dress was also reduced when I got it but isn't now, how odd) and they're a really good fit. My bump is as big as the model's; the rest of me, however...

PS I put weight on my back v easily. I AM that fatty back woman Sad Blush

MustMountMoreFairies · 05/02/2011 18:50

Aaaaaaah, you are too fast! I swear, you all seem to have lives, tidy homes, cooked dinners and time to hang out here. How?????

Glad to see Booty's question on clothing - I think I am going to get acquainted with Mothercare tomorrow!

How's lovely Cho and Gin

Ginfox · 05/02/2011 19:23

Alright laydeez. Sorry I've been absent for a while. Scary to arrive on gleaming new thread and find I'm nearly mid-table! Nice to see you all

Fairy I can't seem to get any sleep either. Apart from many trips to the loo, I just can't get comfy in our bed, which used to be the comfiest place in the world. And just a quick thanks to all the people at work who've told me it's "all good practice for when the baby arrives". Have worked nights/on-call for last 14 years - do not need to practice being up all night [grrrr emoticon].

Rant over.

MustMountMoreFairies · 05/02/2011 19:59

Nobody needs bloody practice at being up! If anything you need to ramp up on some sleep. Stupid comments.

CluckyKate · 05/02/2011 20:12

Stupid comments because not all babies are difficult at night - LC only ever woke for a a feed & would go straight back to sleep [show-off emoticon]

P'raps you need build some pillow support FoxyLady? I have a struture of about 6 pillows on either side....there is no room for MrCluck in our bed. I sleep with the weight of one leg always resting on the pillows, rather than on other leg IYSWIM - was the only way to prevent a dead-leg.

Ver quiet on the Cho and Gin front - wot news ladies????

owlbooty · 05/02/2011 20:13

I cannot sleep either. Am going quietly mental here. mountme apparently the baybee sleeps and wakes in about 10 minutes cycles at this stage, which is, erm, not that different from when it comes out Grin

When I can't sleep I either get Teh Rage or massively weepy. At the moment it's massively weepy. Mr Boots will be sleeping in the spare room tonight.

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 20:18

Seem to be sleeping MUCH better in 2nd trimester. Although maybe its just because I am getting used to the couple of trips to the loo in the night (plus not as many early starts) ginfox nice to see you back! Have you tried lying on your side (pref the left) and using an extra pillow (or 2) to support your right leg. Either cuddled in front with leg bent or in between your thighs if legs straight. Seemed to regain my comfort zone once I tried that.

lovely purchases score esp like the bird top although i couldn't wear that colour I dont think.

mountie the only reason i can manage all that is because I don't have a proper job!! I did make lemon drizzle cake and tiffin today tho

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 20:20

X post there with cluckingtonbear I can see pillow configuration having reached 'fort' status by the time I lay :o

owlbooty · 05/02/2011 20:25

I was hoping the infinite loo trips would stop for a bit once the darling sprog wasn't wedged in my pelvis along with my bladder. Please tell me I am right.

I also like the bird top scorps , orange is a fab colour.

Fort sounds ace Grin

Scorpette · 05/02/2011 21:07

Thanks, laydeez the online colour of that blouse is a bit misleading; it's actually a rich tan, which is much more flattering and sophistimucated.

I've had lifelong insomnia and will punch the next person who tells me it's good practice for when the baybee comes. More like I'll go from feeling crap to even crapper Angry Every time I have to go to loo I'm wide awake for up to 2 hours afterwards, so is fun times. Once, The Lad was kicking my bladder so much that I went 6 times in one night! Curiously, am feeling quite zen and earth-motherly about it - though that might be cos I'm too tired to get worked up about it Confused

My hips are really aching at night when lying on side now. Have a wedge pillow for my legs but think I need one of those giant long ones. Does anyone else use one (or has used one) and recommends them?

ginhag · 05/02/2011 21:20

MOUNTIEEEEeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Am bloody delighted to see you round these parts Grin Congratulations and a smack round the head with a kipper to you.

No I'm not fecking laying. Everything went bonkers last night, to the point of phoning hospital this am to have a chat with mw. She thinks I'm def gearing up for something but as she said, it would either keep on ramping up til I was in proper labour, or it would fizzle out and restart at some point hours or days later.

It appears to be the latter. Still getting BHs but cramps have calmed. Another manic burst of energy today so got lots more sorted.

So, could be soon, might not be. Lovely mr gin cooked wonderful steak n I'm having a glass of wine....

Headbutts n tequila all round.... Big squeezes to poops hope you are surviving alright my lovely xx

ginhag · 05/02/2011 21:21

As usual, ignore italics on am. Fecking iPad.

ginhag · 05/02/2011 21:49

Kate how was the offroading?

Hope the chomeister is doing ok....

Muser · 05/02/2011 22:16

I hope you do get an early lay gin, relieve you from all the aches. It does sound promising. I have no symptoms going on. I am just getting more grumpy. Although I did have a lovely afternoon of food and gossiping this afternoon.

Hope Cho and Clucky have stuff going on.

I think I have been sent an appointment for induction chat already! Got one from the hospital midwives for a week after my due date. Doesn't say what it's for but it makes sense. I like their optimism.

MustMountMoreFairies · 05/02/2011 22:31

I am jealous, really, soon you'll be able to have all the booze again.

LAY, PEOPLE, LAY! We need some excitement 'round 'ere.

Why can't you sleep Bootstraps? I do feel exactly the same as you when I do not getit. Sleep I mean. I haven't got other stuff in a while. This preggo shizzle weirded my flange out. TMI?

CluckyKate · 05/02/2011 22:47

The offroading was fun thanks Ginnytonic - lots of BH and movement from the baby this evening too but still waiting to find out whether it's worked. Your symptoms sound more promising though. Am following your lead & tucking into some wine after a tasty steak supper Wine Wine Grin.

I has one of those long pillows Score - took me a while to get used to it but I luffs it now. One bit props up the bump, my knee rests on it a bit further down and the end curls round & rest between ze legs. Have developed a bad habit of hugging the top bit to my chin which compresses my larynx and makes the snoring worse....poor MrCluck moves to the spare room most nights.

Wol - am well into the 3rd trimester and not waking for midnight wees, and thats with head part-engaged , so there's still hope. Think it's down to how I'm carrying the baby - very much out in front, poss due to posterior placenta (is my theory).

Blimey, 41 week appointment booked already Muser - those MW are keen. Am hoping grumpiness is a sign of imminent laying as it is my top symptom.

Right, bedtime now which means more of the secks....MrCluck is taking his job very seriously and rising to the occasion. Is like buses - nothing for months then wham-bam it's every night. Could be last chance for a while though...

Muser · 05/02/2011 22:47

I have a long body pillow Scorps, bought it off Ebay. For a while it was perfect, then it started to annoy me. But it is now very handy for propping me up in bed when I want to read as I can sort of wrap it around me. At the moment I favour a thinnish normal pillow between my knees/ankles to support them.
