HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 13:39

I don't know why I keep speaking french. Sorry, it's a little bit pretentious innit? Pretentious, moi? :o

CluckyKate · 15/02/2011 13:42

Ignore me - slow is not a bad thing. Am fairly relaxed and feeling pretty zen at the pace of things plus it's giving me time to really think about my hippo stuff and get ready for the birth.

Oooh! at your brilliant news Rocket

Good news here too....I got a surprise windfall from the taxman - a totally unexpected tax refund for 650 smackers. No idea how they've calculated it though so will stick it into a savings account for a bit just in case they ask for it back

Muser · 15/02/2011 14:18

I wouldn't get too excited yet folks. I popped into the birthing centre and am nowhere near laying.

HighPriestessBoo · 15/02/2011 14:27

Dance around to Madonna Muse. Whne they induced me they broke my waters and gave me one hour to get things going on my own before they intervened a bit more. I put 'Hung Up' on, danced around like a loon and it started kicking off 2 mins after the song finished :o

CUNextTuesday · 15/02/2011 14:48

Ooo just sticking my head round the door to say good luck muse and clux. May the force of the BESH be with you and your little ones xxxx

Medee · 15/02/2011 14:51

bah Muse, I was hoping you'd be snuffling a newborn by now.

laurielou · 15/02/2011 15:06

Muse, Kate as long as you're both feeling calm, happy & generally OK, that's the main thing. But if you could get a move on......Grin

Actually, I'm glad things have slowed down. I was looking at the not list & if you both move up to the baybees list, along with Cho & Gin... well, lets just say I jump up a few notches that I'm not ready for yet.

Rocket yey for good news. Whatever it may be, you little tease.

Kate not very often a tax refund comes your way. Lovely!

Ah, on a tangent, I really fancy pie & chips.

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 15:10

I am a tease? What about muse? Hope it all kicks off for you soon mrs, I fully expected to come back from swimming to hear laying news.

True what you say about being vocal boo I predict the air will be rather blue in the room I will be laying in. Each to their own and whatever gets you through it and the baby out imo. It's not the noises but the panicking I am not up for, bit of a control freak and don't like the idea of losing it.

and you are right about the goddesses of course, I always had a soft spot for Athene myself (is that the greek version of Artemis? or other way round?) All i know is she was the goddess of logic and crafts (we'll over look the war bit) and was born out of Zeus's cracked skull. pure DHB.

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 15:10

On a tangent, i have the itchiest upper belly EVAR.

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 15:22

Also swimming is ridiculously more exhausting than it used to be.

Medee · 15/02/2011 15:44

according to our yoga teacher, you should swim arms like breast stroke but legs like crawl. This sounds too complex to me. What you should not do is swim on your back, like what I did for three days at the spa!

CluckyKate · 15/02/2011 15:52

Bit like patting your head & rubbing circles on your tummy eh Meds. Surely breast-stroke legs is OK if your don't have SPD - please to explain why not?

...and a surprise tax refund is even rarer huh LoopyLou?

My mantra is calm, focused and in control - used it during redundancy convos at work and was the only way to stop the hormonal blubbing. Will see if it works once things start moving and let you know Grin

laurielou · 15/02/2011 15:54

Arms like breast stroke legs like front crawl Confused That sounds a bit like patting your head & rubbing your tummy. I'd prolly drown trying to get the movement right.

Why can't you swim on your back? . I read somewhere you shouldn't lie on your back after month 4. I always end up sleeping on my back, plus when I laze my fat arse for hours recline for 5 mins on sofa I'm usually on my back. MW said it was fine.

I'm just going to expect the unexpected when I give birth. If I want to shout, I'll go for it. If I want to hum, sing, moo & STFU - I'll do what I want! I do know that I liked G&A when I had my wrist re-set. But I had my eyes closed tightly & relied on Mr Loz to keep talking to me. I did panic when he went quiet. Instead of just opening my eyes to check he was still there, I thought I spoke & asked if he was there. I panicked when he didn't reply & just shouted for him. He was holding my non-broken hand Blush. So it seems G&A renders me unable to open eyes at any costs & makes me think I'm talking when I'm not

laurielou · 15/02/2011 15:55

Oooh, x-posts there Clucks

CurlyCasper · 15/02/2011 15:56

I ended up doing breaststroke with SPD because my body and brain could not communicate well enough to do anything else. Not that I made it swimming often - finally decided to start going and laid with a week. Ooops.

Sorry things aren't moving along with clucks and muse. But I am positive for news of a baybee or two within the next 24 hours. You are both calm, confident godesses.

giiiiiiiiiin! Great to see you back here. Hope the drugs aren't stealing too much of your tiime away from you. Can't wait to hear more about midge, who I am sure is just beeeeeyootiful Grin

Scorpette · 15/02/2011 15:56

AARGH! Why did my wifi and broadband and phone all choose today to play up?! Angry Thank gawd I'm back! Verh thoughtful of Muse and Cluckers to slow things down so I didn't miss anything but now I'm back you can crack on apace with the laying Grin

Ginnywinny! SO fab to hear from you! Am utterly melting at the thought of you snuffling your Little Midge :) Glad it went better than last time and I really hope the recovery speeds up and gets better and better. Re: tongue tie - as someone who was born with one, I would say make sure they sort it sooner rather than later (not doom-mongering, just practicality). Streme's pressie sounds gorg! My love to gorgeous Family Gin :) XX

Am thinking the same as Medee - have added TENS machine to my seemingly never-ending list of stuff to get before The Lad arrives! Better get yours soon, Med; you're moving up that list rapidly Confused

Love your mantra, Boo, but couldn't use it myself as TYF would do his best Super-Atheist look. 'I am identifying with a mythical female figure of strength and maternal power and I can do it' does not have quite the same ring to it (and may be a bit long-winded) Wink Nah, only joking, it'd be cool, as we're both into mythology. He kept suggesting all sorts of goddess-y girls' names before we found out the flava.

Am waffling wildly now, as am so excited about all the laying, please forgive me Blush

Also pls to forgive for my shameful Smiley bonanza.

CluckyKate · 15/02/2011 16:03

Oooh - spokky Lou Shock

Medee · 15/02/2011 16:25

I guess it is the same principle as not sleeping on your back - but I am sure can't hurt if you are only doing it occasionally.

Scorpette · 15/02/2011 16:46

Grrr, don't talk to me about the not sleeping on your back rule. It's the only position that doesn't exacerbate my headaches when lying down but am diligently sleeping (or trying to) on my side despite aching hips and banging noggin Angry Irony is, I've always slept on my left until I got pg and now that's the 'ideal' position, it's really uncomfortable!

ChoChoSan · 15/02/2011 16:49

Wow, exciting thread today, and super congrats to Gin and little midge! Muse, can't belieeeeve you are in labour...and come on Cluckster, let's have PESHtwinnnzzz! I will be thread watching , if not posting, and hoping that Berwhale gets a move on for Drom's sake too!

Can't wait till you all get your winz...still don't tire of gazing into Chobabe's eyes, and the boyf and I already worrying that her first words will be "Im so beautiful/perfect etc" as we can't stop telling her!:)

CluckyKate · 15/02/2011 16:59

And I thought I'd be racing you Cho.
So lovely to hear you sounding happy and contented with your new baby - she sounds gorgeous Smile

Scorpette · 15/02/2011 17:10

Cho, you keep it up - have been reading a lot about how kids who get loads of praise and attention in their earliest years are the least likely to be spoilt bigheads, because all that attention just made them feel secure and confident, not egotistical. Plus, ChoBabe is insanely gorgeous, so it's not like you're lying Grin

rocketleaf · 15/02/2011 17:30

Awwww cho that is sooooo lovely just kidding it really IS lovely :o

I am down with the gozzy leg movement for breaststroke as i was never very good at the proper legs in the first place. Although I do think that's what makes it more tiring. I am a bit Hmm and :( at the no back stroke because i like to switch to that when my lower back gets a bit tired. I am pretty sure that as long as you dont do 30 lengths of it it will be ok but I will check with the MW on Thursday.

Just found out my friend who is due 4 weeks after me is also having a girl so have gone off into a fantasy word about them being BFFs: playing in the park, doing each others hair, swapping clothes, going on night out and getting hammered on blue wicked. Oh wait THAT'S not part of the deal :o

Nice windfall there lozzer I have just been quoted £184 to replace the lenses in my existing frames, thats roughly double what I paid 4 years ago. Eeeep! It was a local independent so I am hoping Costco/Boots/Specsavers will be cheaper.

Medee · 15/02/2011 18:41

nothing from Muser since this afternoon, hope all is going well!

Scorpette · 15/02/2011 19:05

It seems unreal that just last night we were chatting about water n hypno births, etc., and today Muser might be getting (or in the middle of) her very own!

You better be sticking to your promise of going starkers, Muse Grin
