Yep - talk of head gasket etc. on my motor too GaGa....bloody hope not as last time that happened (about 4 years ago) the cylinder head was cracked and cost me 1,500 smackeroos to fix.

Was offered a sweep on Saturday but declined as am sticking with the hippo non-intervenist, leave it to nature approach for now.

There is hippo-birf on OBEM tonight...am in two minds whether to watch.

LadyGoneGaga · 14/02/2011 16:03

I did nothing, *Milano. She just gave them to me - visiting hormonal recently post-partum women is the key i think.

Lovely pics, Sprocket. My bump is not too far off yours though which is frightening as only 17 weeks. But I suppose I have no stomach muscles and get huge when pregnant.

I am NOT being organised, Owlie - is just that we passed a closing down sale and went in on an impulse. And really we only need to buy a few things as loads in loft from last time. Feels like tempting fate a bit pre-scan but what will be, will be I suppose.

D'you think you might go a bit early, Cass what with all the dropping?

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 14/02/2011 16:07

Hope not too, Clucky - think mine is ok - sparkplugs and some other stuff that I didn't really listen properly too but sounded much less expensive than anything involving gaskets.

Will you go for monitoring then rather than induction? Any twinges yet?

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 14/02/2011 16:37

Oh yes, plenty of twinges, lots of pressure in pelvic region, period-pain type backache cranking up through the....then I go to bed, sleep like a log and next thing I know it's morning again and am back to normal.

Osteo, reflex lady & MW say everything's ready to go so things could start at any moment.

Yep, am going for monitoring so no mention of induction yet.

Can't believe it's nearly your turn Muse....seems like only yesterday you were suffering from the awful sickness. And Drom too - doesn't time fly!!!

owlbooty · 14/02/2011 16:40

Aw, rocket hoorah for the Mini-Rocket all laid back in there :)

GG bugger tempting fate; sounds like you got a bargain which is always good. :)

Clucks hope you manage to do the hippo thing and dodge the induction - apparently in France it's 41 weeks that counts as the due date, not 40. I wish they would do that here instead. I wonder why it is different? I also find myself wondering if they tempt out the recalcitrant French baybees with a round of stinky Epoisses fromage and a desk fan aimed at the foof?

I have too much time on my hands.

Casserole · 14/02/2011 18:31

Kate the waiting must be SO frustrating. Hopefully it's your body secretly getting to at least 8cm in preparation for a gentle sneeze in a day or so's times.

LadyG maybe. L was 2 weeks early. I think the increased pressure from early on definitely contributed to that. But what do I know? Either they'll give me a nice civilised sunroof with bubbly in recovery or else I'll probably set a new gestational record at 45 weeks or something just for even daring to think I might be early again! Wink

Scorpette · 14/02/2011 18:43

Beautiful imagery there, Booty. So evocative Hmm Grin

Your situation sounds really frustrating, Kate. Going to bed feeling like things could be happening then waking up to find they're not. Could it be that your baybee is such a good night sleeper already that he/she forgets to get ready for laying?

Rocket, love your piccies. You look gorg (and so much neater and slimmer than me, grrr):) And Mini-Rocket has a nommingly chubby tum in her close-up already! I ought to put one of my 20-wk scan up, really. 2 are in profile and it's hilariously obvious that he is the spit of TYF already - everyone who sees them says so (erm, not that any of youse would know what he looks like in profile, but jus' sayin').

Am looking forward to watching the hippo birf tonight on OBEM... well, I am if it goes well!

In Lovely Parents Update, my folks know I have a craving for roast chicken at the mo and popped round unexpectedly earlier with a tasty cooked bird for my supper :) Awwww.

Muser · 14/02/2011 20:42

Hmmm. I think I may be losing my plug. Hmmmmm.

Fuck this is just like the 2 week wait. Gusset checking and mucus diagnosis.

CurlyCasper · 14/02/2011 20:54

please to share full details of the woofling muse, we need some excitement!

Medee · 14/02/2011 20:54

ooh, the 27th Febers do like their queue jumping!

PollyPoo · 14/02/2011 20:55
Scorpette · 14/02/2011 20:55

Are you giving it some hot cigaring action too? Wink Can't you lose some plug yonks before actual laying? Am sure I read that somewhere.

PS Would an 'eeeeeep!' help?

Muser · 14/02/2011 21:05

Yeah, I wouldn't get too excited. I think you can lose the plug weeks beforehand. It's only if it's a proper bloody show thing you get excited.

It was a miniscule amount as well. I still think this is a March baby.

Let's all watch OBEM instead.

Muser · 14/02/2011 21:06

This woman's friend appears to have fallen out of the 80s. She just needs some frosted Rimmel lipstick.

CluckyKate · 14/02/2011 21:10

Get back in line Muse - it's me next!!! Wink

More details on this plug-loss please - what colour, any brown bits????

Anyone watching OBEM???

Scorpette · 14/02/2011 21:11

I was just thinking the very same thing, Muse! Her hairdon't would totally put me off my stride in labour.

Hmmm to young couple; a baby should never be created to fill a hole (no pun intended).

CluckyKate · 14/02/2011 21:13

These youngster have no stamina either!

Muser · 14/02/2011 21:17

Ok, this woman is NOT the hypnobirthing one is she? Because she's freaking me out.

Clucky I'm not queue jumping. T'was just a teeny tiny bit of mucus, no colour. And no other signs of anything.

Scorpette · 14/02/2011 21:18

Mind you, one of my BFFs was married at 18 and they planned the son she had at 19, so who am I to judge (they're divorced now, though)?

Am always impressed by any MW who doesn't snap back 'You ain't got a choice' when someone's screaming 'I can't do it'! Grin

Please note: I will no doubt scream same.

Where is the hippo birther? Is it the one with the 80s throwback pal?

rocketleaf · 14/02/2011 21:18

Aww they seem quite sweet although she seems to have lost the plot a bit now bless her.

Can't believe i am actually watching this in real time with you lot AND TB is actually in the same room Shock

Muse, excite!!! Back on gusset watch after all these months. I have just explained to TB what a mucus plug is and he has laughingly said 'i dont like this pregnancy lark, its messy' :D Oops, there he goes. Might manage until after the 2nd break next week.

rocketleaf · 14/02/2011 21:20

Nah it can't be her cos her fella is in prison and the info on virgin sit on about a fella supporting his hippo birthing wife.

Scorpette · 14/02/2011 21:20

I started to explain what a mucus plug is to TYF but he suddenly remembered something urgent he had to do in the spare room Hmm

CluckyKate · 14/02/2011 21:20

Nope - Hippo girl is called Sammy

Phew Muse. Only mucus, huh! Perfectly normal in the last few weeks....tonnes of it here too!

That was a blimmin' quick birth, no?

Muser · 14/02/2011 21:23

Exactly Cluckster, just a sign that things are entering the final weeks. But not much more. I definitely have this down as a March baby. Hopefully early March!

Given the way Bob is currently wriggling around I think he/she is quite happy to stay put.

rocketleaf · 14/02/2011 21:24

Awesome list! i LOVE it :D
