jasmine leave the gate open so the goat escapes

Good tip on sheepskins thanks. I am new to ebay but just got a frisge for £26, what a bargain. Its a 2nd fridge for the garage as ours is always full to brimming, its all the sauces that state....once open keep in fridge.
It looks brand new....
May try to get a tumble drier next as we havent got one and its something everyone keeps saying i will need once the bean is here

jasmine51 · 21/02/2011 18:50

moomin dont put the bean in a tumble drier, they generally prefer to be dried with towels..

mouffloncake · 21/02/2011 21:49

Very excited, ordered Bugaboo Cameleon at the Baby Show yesterday with Maxi Cosi Pebble. I'm convinced we are having a boy & have ordered the blue. Mothercare said we can exchange for pink if we need to.

Off for scan no.4 tomorrow (Yeay). They are keeping an eye on cervical length after having LLETZ in 2007.

Anybody having a 4d scan? We are having one done with BabyBond on 10th march :)

cmh thanks for the list!

moomin Hope you're feeling rested.

BPrincess · 21/02/2011 22:25

Evening all, some great veg chat going on!

I grew French beans last year, which were really great (Cobra, they were), and beetroot (teeny tiny, not worth it), mangetout (not many made it from the plant to the kitchen, too delicious raw!), tomatoes (Gardeners Delight the best ever), loads of salad (if you can get hold of land cress, try it, it's gorgeous), squash which totally failed, yet a plant I gave to my neighbour did really well, fennel in the autumn and now I've got some spring cabbage and purple sprouting broccoli coming through! SO exciting. Almost as exciting as having a baby!!

Also, I was wondering if anyone else is getting all their baby movemnt low down, sometimes jabbing right into my bladder and making me jump/nearly wee myself. Does this mean breach do you think? I do hope not!

Anyone watch OBEM. Interesting one tonight I thought, but how old was the older woman? It encouraged me you see, as I'm an older first timer...

CitizenOscar · 21/02/2011 22:32

I think the women OBEM this eve were 37 and 17 bprincess

BPrincess · 21/02/2011 22:45

Aah, I see. Thanks CitizenOscar. DP said he thought she must be older than me (I'm 41) Grin. I've trained him well!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 22/02/2011 08:07

Jasmine -Grin I was thinking that too!

Moomin - I manage just fine with small in cloth nappies without a tumble drier, even with a north facing garden!

If you can get one cheap then well and good but they can be expensive to run.

moomin156 · 22/02/2011 09:49

BPrincess Im an older first timer too......at 39, i thought the older women on OBEM was lovely and her partner.......and it was a less scary forceps delivery than before.

Moomin hope Im not being out of order here but Im a little annoyed your GP said theres no rational reason for all the tears. Its normal to be more hormonal during pregnancy and crying/ laughing easier and more frequently is a given. That said, antenatal depression is an extremely serious condition that does affect many but is rarely spoken about. It apparantly caused by a chemical/ hormonal imbalance and can be every bit as debilitating as PND.

I bring it up as I had the awful experience of it with ds (although, addmittedly it was triggered by a serious of horrible incidents during the pregnancy) but I honestly felt unexplainably awful at times. I hate when the MN brigade start diagnosing people, at the drop of a hat with depression or PND etc and dont want you to think thats what Im doing here, you could very well "just" be hormonal that said, I think its important that awareness is raised over this and people dont feel like its just them or they are going to be a bad parent etc.. because of how they feel during pregnancy. All Id say is that if it continues or feel unusually down/ tearful/ upset mention it to midwife or GP and know your very normal.

Merlion · 22/02/2011 10:27

Moomin hope the resting works.

Bprincess I was having that too and baby was breech at last scan but it is way to early to worry about that - plenty of time to turn round.

Moufflon good luck for scan tomorrow.

Thanks Barbie and Sunny........Barbie you are not out of order and i appreciate your words. The GP didnt seem dissmissive as you can tell by the length of the appointment ( they are usually 10min slots).......we talked about lots of stuff whilst i cried my eyes out, granted the word depression wasnt mentioned but he did ask alot about worries and concerns. He feels im being very hard on myself about things that i have no control over...ie my work, with my sisters history ( placental abrubtion with stillbirth at 29weeks) it was natural for me to worry about this bleed but there were no indicators that anything serious had happened.
Sunny, i am going to talk to DH about finishing earlier....maybe at 32 weeks at the weekend. I know he will agree as he would be happy for me to walk away now as it is causing me so much stress.
I am feeling better today......had a long chat with my sister last night, who is very good at putting things into perspective for me and my mom came round to watch tv with me last night and i am going there for tea tonight. So hopefully today things are on the up......pain in hip seems better and still no more blood.
Sorry for the long post :)

Hello lovely ladies. Am very happy to see I had lots of reading to catch up on as I've been in tears most of the morning (my parents and several friends live in Christchurch, NZ) and I needed the distraction.

Do you think MN would make us a goat emoticon to make it easier to pass the thread goat about. I might not have a yard at the moment, but DS would love to play with it I'm sure. Grin

moomin good to hear your Dr has signed you off and suggested taking earlier Mat leave. Some times dealing with day to day life is enough to deal with, with out adding extra stress in.

BPrincess I got poked in the bladder by DS a few times. He was head down though (had a foot hooked under my ribs), so he must have been stretching his arms out.

Baby had it's most active day yet yesterday. I was feeling all sorts of movements all day. That is until DH tried to have a feel! It's having a sleep today though.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 22/02/2011 11:57

X-post moomin good to hear you're feeling better today.

moomin156 · 22/02/2011 11:59

nomorechoc hope everyone you know is ok in NZ, its such a sad day for them. What a shock.....NZ and Australia are really having a shit tme this year with natural disasters. How can you tell if the baby is head down......i cant work out what the baby is doing, the movement is all over the place

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 22/02/2011 12:14

Nomorechoc - yes it is awful, one of the posters on my Dec07 PN thread lives in Wellington, but has family and friends in Christchurch. Her family is okay but she is waiting on news from her friends Sad

BarbieLovesKen · 22/02/2011 12:16

Moomin that wasnt a long post! Im the queen of long (boring) posts Grin.he sounds lovely, am so glad that you've a good GP. I think both you and Sunny are so sensible to finish up a little earlier.

Supersunny hip pain sounds horrible - hope the physio offers some relief.

Bprincess, just about the low down feeling, my bump was so odd with ds, it was all at the top - stuck out just at my hips and nothing at the bottom (just flabby!!), I felt kicks and movement constantly down low and the baby was breech from the beginning until 37 weeks (at which stage I started panicing) and he just turned himself. Doctor even told me at a scan at 36 weeks that it was way to early to be worried about breech and baby would more than likely turn - 20 something weeks is definately too early to be concerned (my kicks now sound the same as yours!)

Am so excited, a new Irish verion of one born every minute is starting tonight. (excited - how sad am I? Grin)

I should really be starting one of my assignments tonight but know I wont with tv line up Blush so have promised I will tomorrow night. Have once again left it way too late - received both assignments ages ago, and now, that theres 2 weeks left for one of them(and I cant get any time off work and have my mother coming home next weds and have loads to get ready in her house and have a Saturday class before due date) Im starting to panic. Its worth 30% of final mark - eek!! pah! typical of me, I do this every time.

Am feeling heavily pregnant now. Am huge and uncomfortable and out of breath climbing stairs, I have constant indigestion and leaking boobs, increased discharge (lovely), swollen legs and hands and very sore back. Stretch marks (new ones!) and prominent veins on legs. Ah the joys of it Grin Im postive though! this just means we're on the last stretch... Almost 26 weeks (Thurs) so officially in the third trimester in 2 week time!! (and counting)

moomin156 · 22/02/2011 12:20

Barbie i had thread veins treated in my legs in June.......so much for that, they have come back with avengence. No Varicose veins though.....

HalleLouja · 22/02/2011 12:33

I have a big garden but I hate goats - so you all can keep the goat. I don't want to show off - I live in an ex-council house with a large garden!

I grew tomatoes last year and going to give it a go again but will move them to where there is more sun. Chillis were ok - no luck with pumpkins though.

jasmine51 · 22/02/2011 12:47

supersunny I had some physio for my hip pain. Very gentle though as the physio seemed scared of my bump. Anyway, when I actually do the exercises it does help - the key is 'engaging the core' when you do them as it gives a totally different feeling to the hip muscles (better). I dont think I helped my cause much though after complaining that my increasing weight was putting strain on my hips...the physio found me later on in the cafe tucking into scampi and chips! Oh and the 'between the legs' pillow helps too.

Bprincess my LO seems to enjoy trampolining. I'm not sure if he is upside down and punching or just doing an irish jig but I am getting sharp jabs regularly very low down..below hair line sometimes. I've started telling him off already.

Moomin if you think you are being irrational...I cried this morning because my builder delayed starting our works yet again...then I took my DH to the airport to say goodbye for another 8 wks and not a single tear was shed! Flippin 'ormones!

8rubberduckies · 22/02/2011 12:56

Moomin crying at the drop of a hat sounds like the normal actions of a normal pregnant woman with a lot on her plate to me! Hope your time off is helping you recharge your batteries (sounds like it is) and I'm glad you have a sympathetic GP. How about asking your midwife or GP if you can have some counselling sessions so you can get your worries off your chest about everything? That's what I'm doing at the moment, through a charity I was referred to by my midwife - and it is really helping. I am also thinking about finishing work earlier now I know my job is safe until next year, it is a stressful job, but I am also struggling with my back sat at a desk all day and also all the stairs in my building.

All those feeling movement low down - I am too! The little lovely is dancing on my bladder as we speak and making me wince. They confirmed at my 20 week scan that baby is breech at the moment, but again said it is nothing to worry about at such an early stage. I prefer bladder jumping to lung punching though, which is what I experienced a lot of towards the end of last pregnancy.

Barbie I am also feeling incredibly pregnant - I am really struggling to get up the stairs in work, and ankles and fingers are swelling up. Lovely Hmm.

Nomorechoc I am thinking of your friends and family in NZ, hope all are okay Sad.

moomin156 · 22/02/2011 13:14

Glad im not alone in the irrational tears.......does make me feel better as i have to say i do feel silly when the watreworks start for no real reason.
jasmine feel for you without your DH.....mine was away for 4 months last year and it can be hard at times and i wasnt even pg. HOpe you have lots of RL support around you

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 22/02/2011 14:08

moomin DS probably wasn't upside down the whole time, but his little toe on one foot was sort of curled around from being stuck in my rib, so he was probably that way for a decent amount of time. (btw his toe straightened out fairly quickly)

Jer79 · 22/02/2011 14:38

moomin, and BPrincess So happy to see other late 30's/early 40's on here! What a good group to land into.

AlmightyCitrus · 22/02/2011 15:00
