I'm still here! No twinges yet! Officially 40+8 ... 5 days until induction, argh, bought some raspberry leaf tea... It's only 48% raspberry leaves though so I'm using two in a cup...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 08:48

MP = we were CERTAIN you would have dropped by now!!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 08:50

mines only 48% too so maybe thats where im going wrong! Will have 2 in a cup next time!

morningpaper · 09/10/2005 08:50

Me too! This morning dd said to me (in a really bad mood) "Mummy, I KNEW the baby wouldn't turn up for my birthday! When IS it coming?"

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 08:51

Bless her heart.... its all getting a bit much now.... something WILL happen this week, it HAS to!

morningpaper · 09/10/2005 09:08

Yes I hope so! My stretchmarks look like they are starting to bleed under the skin!

triceratops · 09/10/2005 10:05

Congratulations Buttonmoon.

I am adopting a calm approach to the birth otherwise I will go mad. I'm not even due until 19th which is still 10 days away. I am trying to enjoy all the wriggling that bump is doing as this will be my last pregnancy (unless a lottery win turns up). I am hiding in the house mainly because I don't like to have to keep answering the question "When is it due then?".

Poor dh is getting stressed with waiting, he wants me to put the date in the diary so he can plan his next month. I have banned him from travelling for more than an hour away in case I need him .

Lexie100 · 09/10/2005 11:38

nothing here either. Still having sharp period type pains and lots of BH but nothing that that last more than a few in a row.

Why are these babies being so stubborn?!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 14:21

Its all too quiet here - you lot better not be popping babies and leaving me on my own!

Lexie100 · 09/10/2005 14:31

No bloody such luck here. I think i'll still be preggers in November.

Just sat outside reading and enjoying the sunshine. Trying to potter in the garden and tidy before the winter really hits in but really not getting very far.

morningpaper · 09/10/2005 14:55

Just been for a long hill walk - got all excited at one point thinking I was having a show but it was just my body dumping the remains of last night's Canestan pessary.

No action at all...

mawbroon · 09/10/2005 15:52

I'm still here too. Getting all the last minute jobs done. We are wanting to do stuff in the garden as well before baby arrives, but the weather is just pish, so it can wait!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 16:20

You lot are just too active! Ive been vegged out on the sofa - attempted to watch the Grand Prix but ended up falling asleep - oh what a suprise!

MP - you REALLY have to get that baby moving hun... you are the enxt one i PROMISE.

morningpaper · 09/10/2005 17:55

Ooh spent two hours digging up a bush in the front garden - back totally broken now, am dosed on paracetamol...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 17:56

maybe its all the paracetemol we are taking thats stopping these babies?!

without it i would be more of a mess than i already am though!

morningpaper · 09/10/2005 18:04

Hehe i keep wondering if it's the glass of wine I've been having most nights...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 18:06

whatever it is - the raspberry leaf tea aint doing the trick!

Off to docs tomorrow because i feel so crap and just CANT cope with Jess anymore - need a letter from them that DH can give to work so he can take some time off.

In some ways i hope they send me up to the AAU and i can lay it on with a trowel up there and possibly get induced?! You never know!

Jockey · 09/10/2005 18:36

Sorry to hear your news J&BM - hope you're successful in getting your dh time off. Let him take over with Jess!

No weekend baby for me either, just a 3 year old who is waking four times a night screaming the house down as he's poorly. Now I'm thinking OMG what have I let myself in for ?!?

Lexie100 · 09/10/2005 18:38

I thought walking the dog for an hour this am and pottering in the garden was alot but digging up trees!

Just had a very hot chilli on the off chance something might happen and am off to Blue Water shopping with a friend tomorrow.

Trying to keep busy to keep my mind of things

OP posts:
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 18:42

i was doing quite well on the whole keep busy thing, but then i started feeling really rough so im barely able to drag my sorry arse off the sofa! Its so bad that i am hardly on the computer really.... just sort of pop on and off when i feel up to it!

Thats exactly why i need this letter from docs for DH's work, i need him here to take over with her. He is desperate to stay at home and help too which is really nice.

nervousmum · 09/10/2005 19:04

Congratulations to all the new arrivals - you mummies must be so happy.

And all you mummies-to-be, not much longer now!

Can you believe it - tomorrow, my little boy will be two weeks old! I honestly don't know where the time has gone! Well, my stitches are out and my scar is almost totally healed...Joey's umbilical cord dropped off last Tuesday and he's still feeding really well (every 3 hours - perfect baby, if i do say so myself). Thankfully his colic seems to be a lot better too - ahh, the virtues of baby massage and Infacol!

Sounds silly, but i do miss my 'bump' though, and still catch myself talking to my stomach.

Take care all, and i look forward to hearing all of your birth announcements in the near future. NM x

Lexie100 · 09/10/2005 20:14

J&B mummy i hope you get your note tomorrow. Thinking of going to bed as the little one is wriggling for england and i'm shattered.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 20:15

Lexie - get all the rest you can. im on for another sleepless night i think - done nothing but nap all day!

SusiS · 09/10/2005 20:22

awww sorry to hear that you all are having a tough time
i guess if they hadn't started me off i'd still be with you though. i didn't feel one little bit!!!!!!! until the drop was attached obviously

little caitlin is being a star so far! sleeps alot, feeds about every 4 hours and last night she slept 5 hours - quich feed and another 4 hours; the night before she even slept 9 hours straight - kept checking on her quite a few times

but oh boy did i forget many things.
sore nipples - also it starts getting better now the milk has come in!
and afterpains!!!!! supposingly you don't get them the first time round; but oh boy is that painful! starts easing off now.

but besides all that we are a very happy family

big brother is adjusting nicely too! he keeps asking for the 'baby' and being asked for her name he says 'kaykee'
he even shared his dummy and his bear with her (both sacred!!!)

unfortunately he's got a tummy bug of some kind and had high temp all weekend - seems to be a bit brigther today so fingers crossed!

ohhhhhhhhhhhh and mil has left the buildingggggggggggggggg
