How's everyone feeling this am. I have had period pains all night but nothing abnormal there for me. Hope you managed to get some sleep. I feel like i haven't slept for days.

I'm fine - still here! BH's wore off overnight. Might try and get my hands on a birthing ball to sit on to try and encourage things along.

BigBumpBonnie · 08/10/2005 09:16

I'm now on my second and final due date today so am starting to get a bit impatient. Had really strong pains last night but not strong enough. Managed to sleep ok and woke up this morning with nothing so looks like my little dd2 will be overdue. DS birthday tomorrow so keep telling myself it's best if it doesn't happen this weekend, but part of me is hoping it does!

Still not got any raspberry leaf tea but getting very tempted. Trying to keep a bit more active to encourage things along and spent yesterday raking leaves from garden. Going on a small shopping trip today and planning on taking ds out for dinner tomorrow. I'm going to carry on as normal and not even think about going into labour......yeah, right

Anyway only 5% of babies arrive on their due date so the probability of her coming today is not great!

How are you J&BM, any more pains???

jai38 · 08/10/2005 09:18

Morning all - congratulations to everyone that has popped - roll on the next few!!!

We have friends down to stay this weekend with their one year old, so a late night last night meant I slept but wake up feeling like I have been beaten up

No pains and no twinges for days now think baby is staying put and just likes kicking me in the bladder!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 09:22

Nope, im still here and NOTHING. the odd period pains but nothing that even hints at labour.

DH's birthday today, and i keep teasing him saying ti will be today - he isnt so sure and says im going to have a middle of the night baby!

rodeo1 · 08/10/2005 11:52

Hi girls,

I'm from the Nov thread but having a section on Monday - I'm petrified - so just wondered if I can gatecrash your thread?! (have been lurking for a while!)

Congratulations to all the mum's who've had your babies and good luck to all those due soon (sooner rather than later I hope)!

Morning all - isnt it strange that so many of us have family members with birthdays in October, along with our babies/bumps?

Along with my dad, brother and me, I also have two uncles, my sister's partner and my second cousin all celebrating this month.

Congrats to Susis. Like JandBmummy, I have no hints at labour yet - went to MW yesterday (who completed a new record in getting me in and out of the consulting room in less than 7 minutes), and babies head isnt even engaged yet! Boo Hoo.

I went out for dinner last night with work colleagues and had such a good time that it put me in a great mood for the weekend. Hope you all enjoy yours too.

grannygoose · 08/10/2005 11:57

Hi Rodeo1 - from a fellow reformed lurker. Enjoy your last weekend with bump!

fastasleep · 08/10/2005 12:33

Congrats buttonmoon!! And anyone else I've missed

I feel nasty leaving all you girls, just can't get to PC... am thinking of all of you still waddling along xxx

bubbles2904 · 08/10/2005 13:32

just popping over from the september thread to wish you lovely ladies all the very best xxx

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 13:42

Afternoon girls.

Just had some crappy news - apparently i have group b strep which means IV anti-biotics during labour and 24 hour baby monitoring afterwards..... really not happy and sitting here in tears.

So much for being in and out.

morningpaper · 08/10/2005 14:20

Aw really sorry JBM.

Redtartanlass · 08/10/2005 14:33

Aww bad news J&Bmum BUT at least they found out before. How did they find out by the way. I thought you only knew if you paid to have it done privately.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 14:34

I had swabs done for thrush.... which i have again (tell me somethign i dont know) and it showed up on that.

Im so PISSED OFF though.... Jess is fine and i obviosuly had it when pg with her too.... just makes me so mad!

Lexie100 · 08/10/2005 14:51

Oh you poor thing.

Have horrid period pains today, i wish it was something or nothing. This in between is it isn't it is really getting me down.

Went to see MIL who said oh but you could still have another 3 weeks before they induce you. Oh hell thanks, just what i wanted to hear

Need chocolate

Oh that's not so good J&BM. HOpe it all works out ok though.

Just washing the bundle of pram and cot sheets/blankets which i got from my friend. Luckily it is quite windy here today so they will be dry in no time. DH finally got the new wardrobe completed and I have hung all the baby clothes in there. It looks mighty cute I must say!!

I have also noticed a couple of scuffs on the wall in the baby's room and have made DH go to the attic to get the paint to touch it up. I think I am taking this nesting lark too far but I cant' help myself!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 17:42

No, its not great. Ive been for a sleep this afternoon to try and chill out, but im still quite annoyed and to be brutally honest.... PISSED OFF!

Oh well.... as long as baby is healthy, i guess ill have to swallow my pride and spend at least 24 hours in that hell hole they call hospital!

morningpaper · 08/10/2005 18:13

Oooh I've got awful thrush too - I've shoved so many pessaries up there over the last few weeks that it's probably blocking the way for the baby to come out ...

Had a load of tests but keeps coming back as THRUSH THRUSH THRUSH.

Period pains here too Lexie ... I'm assuming it'll come at night - don't ALL babies?!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 18:18

Glad im not the only one with thrush - got to go to docs on monday to get the next pessary.... ffs - how many have i got to have?!

anyone heard about black cohosh to induce labour?!

morningpaper · 08/10/2005 18:21

lol JM - I have had AWFUL thrush all the time - and it really fecks up breastfeeding if you pass it to the baby during birth btw so I'm desperate to get rid! Got another pessary today. Doctor says to just keep shoving them up because it's important to try and sort it out. I'm going to give birth through a white blanket of Canestan snow gushing out of my lady bits!

Lexie100 · 08/10/2005 18:30

J&bmummy - never heard of black cohosh to induce labour. have hear of caulophyllum which is a homoeopathic therapy to induce labour.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/10/2005 18:53

MP - i know EXACTLY what you mean! Bloody nightmare!

littlerach · 08/10/2005 18:55

Hi JABM, thought of you today when I saw hugely pg woman!!!
Black cohash is used for menopause, particularly hot flushes.
Hope Jess is ok!xx

Redtartanlass · 09/10/2005 07:09

hi all
hope some of you had a good night, just can not sleep at night! Any weekend babies yet? My money is on morningpaper!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 09/10/2005 07:21

Nothing here..... ONE of you MUST have dropped by now!!!

Not even a twinge lately, but then i havent been taking the old Raspberry Leaf Tea so back on a mission today!
