Well I think we might be in for some action chez morningpaper today!

Uncomfortable night - not much sleep - and this morning - HURRAY! - a show and diahorrea. Contractions are barely noticable - same as BH's really - but I suppose every 5-10 minutes. I've asked DH to stay home from work though and I THINK we will ship DD off to my mother's for the day. Not sure what I will do all day though - things seem very slow!

Redtartanlass · 11/10/2005 07:58

Good morning ladies, did anyone lose a bump during the night!!! My wee brother goes to America on Saturday, so I am desperate for to come before he goes

Rodeo from September thread should have had her section on Monday, hope we get an update soon!

Good luck MB on your scan today, maybe f we all concentrate at the same time, we can force the baby to turn round!!! Thoughs are with you.

Redtartanlass · 11/10/2005 07:59

OOOOOh mp...fingers crossed XXXXX

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 11/10/2005 08:00

oooooh MP sounds promising hun!

I hope you're is a nice quick one.... unlike mine that is taking DAYS!

You can sit here and chat to us all day - i dont intend to do a hell of a lot!!!

morningpaper · 11/10/2005 08:02

Hehe I don't know! I think things will be very slow! I'm going to ring the labour ward though - DH says it's good to get your name on the list so that if things get busy you wn't get diverted to another hospital - good thinking.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 11/10/2005 08:03

Very good thinking - just let them know you are in early stages.

At least you have had a show - ive had NOTHING!

Everytime i go to the loo i keep expecting my waters to go.... but nope. This baby REALLY is TOO happy where it is!

morningpaper · 11/10/2005 08:04

I know! I can't believe my luck at having a show! I really thought this baby was going to have to be dragged out! I'm finally feeling like some action is happening!

Not that I'm getting any contractions! But still...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 11/10/2005 08:06

It will happen hun.... all my contractions have stopped, so even DH's best efforts yesterday didnt do the trick!

Sending him out for castor oil later!

Lexie100 · 11/10/2005 08:37

Oh MP fab news.

Had a horrid night i actually managed to sleep but just wriggled all night and i don't feel like i have had a wink of sleep. Again had pains in the night on and off but nothing this am.

Lexie - between us wee arent doing too good are we!

I still think ill be the last one standing at this rate!

morningpaper · 11/10/2005 08:53

Not much happening here so we decided it would be best for DH to go to work and I'll take dd to toddler group as per usual. Can't bear the thought of sitting at home imagining contractions all day...! I've told my mother who practically went hysterical.

Rang the delivery suite but they aren't too bothered - didn't even want my name! Were very friendly and supportive though. Will keep you all informed!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 11/10/2005 08:55

Well maybe you ARE going to be like me MP - bloody SLOW labour!

Once Jess gets out of bed, im going for a long walk in the hope that i can get things going again!

morningpaper · 11/10/2005 09:28

Hehe, I was 27 hours with dd1 so I'm not expecting it to happen fast TBH. Just glad it started first thing in the morning so I had a rest, rather than last thing at night!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 11/10/2005 09:30

this is driving me insane now.... off to town in a little bit - just wondering what lvoely herbal crap to buy from Holland and Barrett today - raspberry leaf tea aint doing anyting!

SusiS · 11/10/2005 09:30

it WILL happen girls!!!
yes good idea, get yourself lots of distraction!

sending lots of 'birthing' vibes

Elf1981 · 11/10/2005 09:33

danishmummy - I had Evie by section, I cant tell you how it compares to a "normal" birth because Evie is my first baby, but I had the section on Thursday, home on Sunday and I am feeling pretty good. I'm hoping today that my stitches are taken out and I'll be feeling 100% (the little clips the hospital put on the end of the section hurt slightly when they get caught on my pants!!)
I would say that if your baby is going to be very big, although a section was not something you planned, you will probably fare better. Hope things go well for you anyway.
J&BM - heres hoping it gets started for you today.
Moomin Huge congrats. Lovely name (though I am slightly bias!!)
Mawbroon - good luck at your scan.

BigBumpBonnie · 11/10/2005 09:35

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Moomin Lovely name and looking forward to hearing all the details soon.

Mawbroon, good luck with your scan, Hope everything goes okay

J&BM, sorry to hear you're thinking of castor oil, though must admit it's crossed my mind on more than one occassion.

MP, hope this is it for you!!

Anyway I'm officially 3 days overdue today (6 days over by my scan date) and am getting pretty peed off to say the least. Need to get the baby out before my overdue appointment on Friday. 4 cups of raspberry leaf tea did nothing, but will keep trying.

Only have 6 heartburn tablets left and am NOT buying anymore!!

triceratops · 11/10/2005 09:50

High birth weight confers all sorts of health benefits in later life. As far as I am concerned the bigger the better (so long as it isn't caused by gestational diabetes). My uncle was just over 13lb when he was born and my gran (who was only 5 feet tall) had him at home with no drugs. She said that it wasn't easy but he made up for it by being a dream baby (sleeping through and hardly ever crying). I hope your little bundle will be just as easy when he/she arrives DM. At least you know when now which makes it much easier to plan.

My baby is definately engaged this week - I am walking like John Wayne .

danishmummy · 11/10/2005 10:18

Huge TILLYKKE to family Moomin -- welcome little Evie!

MP and J&BM - hope you go all the way now!
Mawbroon - good luck with scan!
RTL - hope your baby will come in time to meet your wee brother. How long is he going for?

Elf - thank you for the report on your experience on C section. I am glad it went so well for you, and very impressed by your recovery time! Well done! Makes me feel less scared.
Triceratops - also thanks for the encouraging words on big babies and for wishing me well! Good chance of him/her being strong and healthy. And yes, good to know when it happens in order to plan things (also with granny to look after DD) and knowing there's only 3 days until I meet baby!

Am really excited know to meet the wee one and find out the sex!!

danishmummy · 11/10/2005 10:19

should have been: "...really excited now..."

Jockey · 11/10/2005 11:01

Congratulations Moomin!

Glad everything went well. Thanks to Mr Moomin for posting.

Lexie100 · 11/10/2005 12:02

Morning Paper anything happening yet?

OP posts:
morningpaper · 11/10/2005 12:03

Morningpaper still here! Went to toddlers - feel a bit faint but have just stocked up on cream buns from the baker n the way home which has made me feel better . No more contractions so things seem to have slowed down.

grannygoose · 11/10/2005 12:23

Congrats mommy and daddy moomin and welcome baby moomin! No action here at all.
