if the invite includes DH being there too then yes go! If my DH was off work, i would be at my dads like a shot.

you need to rest up a bit hun!

Lexie100 · 14/10/2005 17:20

DH loves my parents so all ok there. I think i'll go unless labour starts which i very much doubt it.

Go and enjoy - but make sure you have access to MN!

Where is RTL - quite concerned now!!!

jai38 · 14/10/2005 20:30

Hi all

have not had time to read all the messages so congratulations to all that have had beautiful babies.

Isaac was born three weeks early on 10th Ocotber and after a very traumatic birth we were finally allowed home yesterday.

Had some success with BF today so feeling positive if not knackered

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I'm still here, obviously......nothing to report...

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 21:35

BOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Right, so DM would have had her baby by now, so RTL tomorrow, Lexie monday, me ASAP!

hester · 14/10/2005 23:24

Huge congratulations to BBB, Piggiesmum and jai38. Isaac and Ruby are such beautiful names; sorry the birth experiences didn't always match up to the gorgeousness of the babies.

I feel very grumpy because the mw checked my cervix today and it is as tight as a nut. I'm miles off! Had decided that I want to give birth TUESDAY but it sounds like it might be a Tuesday in November, or maybe sometime in 2006...

elclose · 15/10/2005 08:18

Hi hesster how did you manage to get mw to check cervix? Mine wont just says i have to wait think i may fake it a bit when i go next time and see if she will check, i just cant stand all the waiting, 38.2 and fed up xxxxxxxxxxxx
Rtl you must be going mental, i bet you are thinking its all in your imagination ,cant believe nothing has happened yet!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 15/10/2005 08:39

Nothing to report this morning here either.... i think those of us waiting have VERY stubborn babies!

39+1 and SO fed up!

mawbroon · 15/10/2005 11:57

Congratulations Jai! Bet you're glad to be home finally and put the birth experience behind you.

Nothing happening here either - but I'm quite glad. DH and I are tidying up the back garden getting ready for the winter so we need a few more days to get it finished and I have more green tomato chutney to make!!

My MW phoned me yesterday to say that one of her colleagues had been on a midwifery aromatherapy course. She said to stick some root giner on the accupressure points on my little toes for 24 hours as that is supposed to help turn a breech. So, I'm trying that just now - not doing anything yet, but still have another 9 hours to go!! My MW did say that she too thought my baby was stuck in his contortionists position and was unlikely to turn. Luckily I had some ginger in the house and didn't have to make a special trip out to buy it!

I am starting to get the dreaded fluid retention now. My wrists are quite sore in the morning and my face is a bit puffy. I suppose I can cope with it for the short while that's left though.

Hope you are all keeping cheery

MB

mawbroon · 15/10/2005 11:58

root ginger that is

Redtartanlass · 15/10/2005 15:56

Hi All here....been swimming this morning, IKEA all afternoon.....Good grief how can I be 4cm 3 days ago!!!!

My mobile is constantly low on memory as I receive about 20million txts an hour

Wonder how Danismummy is.......

Off for another walk and some star jumps!!!

Redtartanlass · 15/10/2005 15:58

Of course should read...Hi All still here

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 15/10/2005 16:11

too bloody stubborn these babies! Resigned myself to the fact that this baby is not appearing before next week now.... oh well. Best to treasure Jess while i still can!

mawbroon · 15/10/2005 17:05

RTL - can't believe that things are taking so long for you!! Hopefully when it actually comes to it, your wee one will pop out no bother!

I have had a lie down for an hour and a half this afternoon - but was completely unable to sleep. That is so not like me!!

We have friends coming over for dinner tonight, so have to get cooking. My parents are coming to stay tomorrow as my nephew/their grandson is being christened. So, busy couple of days for me. Baby had better NOT put in an appearance!!

MB

elclose · 15/10/2005 19:24

hi MB , i have loadsa green tomatos in my garden too, how do you make green tom chutney? Girls i know it is not baby related but you never know if you eat it with chilli it could induce labour!!

hester · 15/10/2005 21:46

elclose - I'm really lucky to be on a one-to-one midwifery scheme. I see the same midwife each time; she has loads of time for me and is very caring. Maybe also she's keeping a close eye because of my age - the consultant offered me induction or caesarean at 38 weeks, which was ridiculous but has left me quite nervous of going too far overdue (which I obviously now will do).

mawbroon · 16/10/2005 00:02

Just checking to see if any updates before I go to bed......

elclose - CAT me and I'll email you the recipe for the green tomato chutney. It's delicious and fairly simple to make. And, you can give it to people at christmas and they will think you are a domestic goddess!!

I have my parents coming to stay tomorrow so have to do a bit of a mad clean up before they arrive - they don't care, but my hormones will not allow a dirty house!! Weird, because it never bothered me before!!

ponto · 16/10/2005 07:33

Hi, have been lurking for last week or so and would like to join you. Hopefully not for much longer as my due date was 4th October so am now 12 days late and desperate! Was 18 days late with baby 1 before I gave up and agreed to induction - think I will probably crack after 2 weeks this time round, but hoping for miracle before then.

Have found this thread very helpful while waiting, good to know I'm not alone! Good luck to everyone.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 16/10/2005 07:55

Any news this morning girls?!

Took castor oil last night before bed, and a "session" with DH, on top of the alcohol (went to the pub!) and woke at 2.50am with pains that have kept me up since - nothing regular but god they hurt quite a bit.

Think its probably just baby getting right down there ready, but i can dream its the other!

mawbroon · 16/10/2005 11:09

Just checking in for today - nothing happening here!

Welcome Ponto - hope your wee one arrives soon!!

MB

ChaCha · 16/10/2005 11:24

Mawbroon - Just popping over to see how you are. Two of our Novemberer's have had their babies this week, it's quite exciting now

JABM - Hope your little one arrives soon.

grannygoose · 16/10/2005 12:15

Nothing happening here either. Not a twinge, tweak or pang.

Busy writing out my list of contact numbers for DP so that he can do the honours after baby arrives.

Redtartanlass · 16/10/2005 14:24

RTL - checking in....

Nothing here to report...went to get monitored this morning, asked them to have a wee peek to see if I've dilated any further. But she wouldn't!!!

They had a bit of a panic as the baby's heartbeat dipped (same as 3 weeks ago) but let me go home anyway. Have to go back tomorow to be monitored again.

Surely to goodness she'll come tonight. Can't believe how quite we all are at the moment. They all seem to come at the same time eh?

Chacha - tell your November ladies to wait in turn

Welcome Ponto, it's hard playing this waiting game eh? I think I'm going to give in a get in induced as well.

Hey MB this is your last weekend without bub!!! Next week at this time you'll have your wee one.....

Speak to you all soon
