Hi girls - I'm actually due in Dec but can't resist lurking here a bit to see how you are all geting on

Danishmummy, hope it goes v well for you tomoorow - we'll be thinking of you over here on sunny Samsø...

Mawbroon - just a thought - have you tried acupuncture for turning? Know 2 people who did it - something about the toes - as a last resort & it worked; may be worth a try??

Anyway, congrats to all the new mums, and good luck to everyone waiting to meet their little ones

grannygoose · 13/10/2005 10:44

Thanks Trice - have a nice day!

Lexie100 · 13/10/2005 11:41

awww lexie {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}} my MW doesnt want to see me til 23rd now and thats when my sweep will be.

ill only be 2 days over so not too bad, but gosh i feel for you.

Mimixx · 13/10/2005 12:21

OK now, I hope you gals enjoy a good moan. I woke up this morning and surprise surprise, there's a big leak in the baby's newly decorated room, and the leak was just on top of the new cot!!! Grrrrrrr I can't believe it! We had load of rain in London yesterday and today, and obviously our 'victorian' roof couldn't handle it. Great timing.

Redtartanlass · 13/10/2005 12:43

Guess who's 4cm dillated......

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 12:47

RTL... EXCELLENT!

It will happen in the next 24 hours for you thne!

Redtartanlass · 13/10/2005 12:54

Just been to hospital to book induction date. Absolutely dreading it, was induced with ds2 horrible experience. Anyway consultant and midwife were great said It's mother's choice blah blah blah. We will support you whatever you decide. It felt like a weight had been taken off my shoulders. Anyway discussed other options, suggested a sweep.

Anyway mw swept way and said my word you are 4cm and sooooooo ready and ripe so I might just been you Danishmum, well it is only fair...I should be next

Where's BBB

Redtartanlass · 13/10/2005 12:56

Sorry Danishmum don't want to be you want to beat you

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 13:09

So excited for you RTL - any twinges or anything since the sweep?!

mawbroon · 13/10/2005 13:20

Ooooh RTL getting exciting...... LOL at "ripe and ready" you sound like a fruit stall!!

Mimmixx - bad luck with your leaking roof. At least you found out now rather than finding a wet baby in the cot at a later date. Hopefully you can get it fixed pronto.

Tickle - the moxibustion works on the accupressure points, but without needles. TBH the accupuncturist I saw didn't have to say that there wasn't a lot of chance of it working at this late stage - her face said it all, but she took my money anyway!! I'm pinning my hopes on the ECV next week - manhandling the baby seems much more likely to work!! But if I have to have a section then so be it.

I can't seem to sit down today which is in sharp contrast to most other days. I have some brownies in the oven just now (as well as a bun - ha ha - mustn't laugh at my own jokes ) and have just cooked 3lbs of mince for the freezer. I am on my third load of washing and am about to read my Lakeland catalogue then clean the bathroom. Guess who's going to be passed out on the sofa with exhaustion when DH gets home from work!!

MB

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 13:26

MB - no doubt with everything you've been doing, you will go into labour tonight!!!

Giving my body a bit of a break from all the "remedies" to induce labour.... decided to take it one day at a time.

Redtartanlass · 13/10/2005 13:38

MB you must have the cleanest house on this thread!!!
Mimmix ? as MB said how awful if it happened later when bub was there elf ? glad about yor mum
Sorry mishmash have now updated!!! Boy you were early weren?t you.
Hester ? I?ve been having period cramps on and off for dates, that?s why wasn?t that surprised when they said I was 4cms. So fingers crossed for you.

Anyway away for a wee lie down, might be in for a busy night??.

mawbroon · 13/10/2005 14:16

RTL - I wish my house was so clean! I hate cleaning, but enjoy cooking, so guess which one gets priority! I don't think that I am going to have to cook (other than reheating stuff) for ages after the baby is here. DH can cook well, but it just makes more sense to have loads of stuff ready.

J&BM - I had better not go into labour tonight! DH and I have agreed to go and see the new Wallace & Grommit film a week tonight in an attempt to keep our minds off things. It is the night before I go in for my ECV (and possibly section) I am really looking forward to it, so don't want to be rudely interrupted by a baby making it's appearance. Baby?? Am I having a baby??? oh yes, still hasn't sunk in!!!!

alterego · 13/10/2005 15:03

for your stats rtl, alterid weighed 6lb 9oz.
posting a bit on the postnatal thread but like someone said, life is aittle busy now. Haven't been too well either, on double dose of antibiotics due to infection and still not feeling that great but hopefully will perk up soon.

Mimixx · 13/10/2005 15:03

THis board is so exciting!!! I'm reading your stories while going through a nice box of Terry's All Gold Dark Chocolates - they were on sale at Woolworths and I got two boxes!!! I'm due on the 24th and still the baby hasn't dropped. I can't wait now!

alterego · 13/10/2005 15:04

congratulations morninpaper
love the name too

Lexie100 · 13/10/2005 15:15

RTL - ohhhh fab news so nearly there. You get lots and lots of rest now. I hope they say that to me when i go in. Good luck and let us know

Jockey · 13/10/2005 16:18

Ladies, you won't believe this - my little girl was born at 2.08am this morning! No name yet (thought we had at least another week!). I haven't slept since, too excited, and v. happy. Stayed at home for most of the evening, thinking false labour/period type pains, then arrived at hospital 9cm.

Will fill you all in properly later, and catch up on the thread. Good luck to everyone! xxxxx

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 16:18

CONGRATS JOCKEY!

Jeez, these babies are coming thick and fast now - where's mine?!

mawbroon · 13/10/2005 16:25

Well done Jockey!! Not bad time keeping either by your wee girl - only a couple of hours past the due date (correct me if I'm wrong)!! Look forward to hearing more soon.

J&BM - repeat after me - "the best things come to those who wait"

Just went to buy a new baby card for DHs cousin and his wife who had a boy yesterday. The folk in the shop probably think I've lost the plot and that I'm buying it for myself

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 16:26

MB - i know i know - my baby will be perfect when it arrives - just think its trying to torture me by not appearing - honestly thought the hospital was mad when they put my dates back 2 weeks..... so according to me im nearly a week overdue!!

alterego · 13/10/2005 16:32

congratulations jockey

Lexie100 · 13/10/2005 17:05
