TILLYKKE morningpaper!! Well done you and welcome to Josie.
Waterbirth sounds great... but you sound like there's more to it... hope you are not too worn out!

A pretty good bet on "who's next" would be on me, I suppose, as baby will be here friday morning due to C section!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 19:37

oh yeah DM - you ARE next arent you!!! Good luck for friday - you will be fine i promise!!

Redtartanlass · 12/10/2005 20:17

grannygoose · 12/10/2005 21:14

Congrats MP and welcome to little Josie. I am hoping for a waterbirth, so look forward to hearing the "gory details"

Still absolutely NO sign of this baby. Not a peep. Granddad reckons he wont want to come out in this weather! Dont blame him actually.

SusiS · 12/10/2005 21:27

woheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy morningpaper!!!!
well done you!!!
and welcome to little josie

Elf1981 · 12/10/2005 21:36

Congratulations morningpaper!

Can I just ask - have I had the biggest baby so far?? Keep trying to work it out. If so, do I get a prize??

elclose · 12/10/2005 21:36

Hi, everyone this is the first time ive posted on antenatal. I am due on 27th with baby no2, having a boy and calling him Joe.
Getting fed up now but 38 weeks tomorrow and head has been engaged since 35.6, Does anyone know if that means it could be sooner rather than later?
DD1 was 2 weeks over, dont think i could cope with that this time as just dont have the energy!!
Anyway take care xx

Mimixx · 13/10/2005 04:56

Hiya! I'll add myself to the list - I haven't posted here yet but I've been reading your progress inthe last few days!! I'm just over 38 weeks, and booked for a home birth. It's our first baby and we dn't know if it's a boy or a girl yet. It's now 5 AM and I can't sleep - Lack of sleep is the worst thing for me now!!!

Mimixx · 13/10/2005 04:57

Oh yea, I'm due on 24th October.

Lexie100 · 13/10/2005 07:43

Morning all and welcome to our two new mumms.

Well had an interesting 45 mins of pacing the kitchen with the worst BH i have had yet. Very painful and lasted ages. I kind of guessed it wasn't labour as there was no breaks in between, no show or waters breaking either. DH was getting excited though. All stopped again though

Hopefully get my sweep today. Will keep you posted.

OP posts:
mawbroon · 13/10/2005 08:15

Good luck with your sweep Lexie.

Welcome to the new ladies

Danishmummy - do you have to go to the hospital today for all your pre op stuff? If so then I hope it goes ok for you and just in case you don't log on again before tomorrow GOOD LUCK and we look forward to hearing all about your new arrival.

It is now pouring with rain here for the third day on the trot, but at least there is no flooding here like there has been in other parts of Scotland, so I really mustn't complain I suppose.

Today I have a long list of chores to do. That's the thing, when you slob on the sofa or computer all day, then these things just build up......

Hope you all have a good day

MB

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 13/10/2005 08:20

morning girls.

lets hope the sweep does the trick for you lexie!

GOOD LUCK DM..... it will fine and tomorrow you will be holding a gorgeous little baby!

triceratops · 13/10/2005 08:36

Good Luck for tomorrow DM - I hope you have a good birth even if it isn't the one you had planned. I bet your dd will not be sleeping any more than you will be tonight

MP congratulations on your new dd. Lovely name . Sorry to hear that your birth was hard.

Welcome to the board Mimixx and Elclose. We will all be meeting our babies soon. It must be hard work because all the mums who have had theirs have stopped posting for the time being .

I hid in the house yesterday to avoid the "when's it due?" comments as they are driving me mad. But then I had some parcels delivered and even the postman felt he had to say something. Remind me never to say this to other pregnant ladies ever again, it is soooooooooooooooo irritating .

danishmummy · 13/10/2005 09:04

Morning girls. Just enjoying my last, quiet morning in my own company only for the last time in a loooooong time! Can't wait to meet baby - odd and nice to know, that it will be tomorrow. Will post asap when I'm back from hospital. By the way, my baby will come out to nice weather overhere: absolutely gorgeous sunny blue sky, dry and 16 celcius for weeks now! Hoping you are not washed away... sorry, couldn't resist!

Mawbroon - went for pre op stuff tuesday. It went well, and I am more calm now. Wait 'till tomorrow morning though!!!! Good luck for next friday - your wee boy will probably decide to turn before then, like mine!

Wonder what BBB and RTL are up to?????

Thanks to you all for wishing me well - all the best to you too. Hang in there, won't be long now. (Aaaargh, so annoying to hear, isn't it?) Anyway, lots of last minute things to do today, so better go.

Love
danishmummy

Redtartanlass · 13/10/2005 09:10

Redtartanlass my mum is doing well, thanks for asking. She discharged herself from hospital two days after her op to come see me & Evie. Absolutely delighted with her granddaughter, gone a little crazy with her credit card!

She's due to go back to work on Monday which I feel is far too soon, but she's determind. Just hope she doesn't over do it.

hester · 13/10/2005 09:38

Oh well done, morningpaper! It sounds a bit rough but huge congratulations on your waterbirth. I LOVE the name Josie, by the way! Can't wait to hear all the details.

Danishmummy - how do you pronounce tillykke? VERy best of luck for tomorrow, sweetie.

Big welcome to mimixx and elclose (Joe was my favourite name for a boy!)

Nothing exciting happening here. Getting over my cold. Having period-type cramps. Desperately hoping for a last burst of nesting instinct but actually just want to lie grouching on the sofa. Have decided i want to give birth next Wednesday, so that's sorted then

mawbroon · 13/10/2005 09:40

RTL - I did the moxa sticks for the prescribed number of days and since it had bugger all effect I stopped doing it and can now scientifically say that it doesn't work and my suspicions about mumbo jumbo were quite possibly correct. I read somewhere that I have a 1 in 10 chance of subsequent pregnancies being breech but I think I'll get this one out before I start worrying about any siblings for him!!

I have just put an oxtail on to cook. Its been in the freezer for yonks and I decided that I needed the room for all the meals that I am preparing in advance. God knows what possessed me to buy it - I've never cooked it before, so I have bunged it in the pressure cooker with some veg out of the garden and will boil it to buggery. Hopefully if I take the meat off the bone, DH will just think it is "stew" Ha ha ha

mishmash2 · 13/10/2005 09:50

My goodness it is getting exciting on this thread. Best of luck to you ... not long now!!
RTL - you can add me on the list as I was the first to drop! William born on 28th August weighing 5lbs 1oz! Tiny boy.. am getting him weighed later and I reckon he is now 7.5 lbs - 8lbs so have caught you all up!

grannygoose · 13/10/2005 10:14

Morning all. My tens machine arrived yesterday. Has anyone tried one before? Any tips to avoid electrocution or putting it in the wrong place?

No sign of baby, whose head is still floating. I thought first babies were supposed to engage earlier???

triceratops · 13/10/2005 10:34

GG I used tens last time. It gave me something to do beween contractions. It is an odd feeling - a bit like pins and needles. Make sure that you have enough batteries and take it off before you get in the bath. Otherwise it is fairly easy to use.
