Gin! I am here. Poor you, dumped dreams are horrible. Hope mrgin is home soon and gives you lots of cuddles.

If it will cheer you up, I have just had a quote for a blind for Bob's room. Roller blind for a tiny window. Miniscule.

£194. £194!!. What the fucking fuck? And a curtain to cover the door to the back garden=£250. Ahahahaa. FUCK OFF.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:15

Aw gin wasn't ignoring you was a cross post! Luffs you! come here and gave a big fat pikey snig with fluero yellow net and swarofakeski crystals!

BFGW is great for finding names for sprout! Top of list so far Montana and Cheyenne. Although TB has just said he quite likes Cyan. Eeeep!!

CurlyCasper · 18/01/2011 21:16

I so want at job at that dressmaker's

And at muser's blind/curtain company, it seems. £££££££££ Shock

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:17

Muse what kind if curtain? I can make em if fairly simple. U would have to put up rail and hang em tho.

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:17

Curls. That dressmaker is really local to me. Maybe I should get a job there. :D

Scorpette · 18/01/2011 21:20

GINNYWINNYWINWIN! You knows I loves ya, moi luvver! Thanks for the thoughts and thanks for the reassurance about the amitriptyline; the Doc mentioned it could well help my insomnia :) The leaflet with it says it's not advised in the last trimester (as it can make baby doped up or summat), but I've only got a month's supply anyway (wk 23 tomorrow). I hope that should sort it all out by then. Also has lactose in, which I'm allergic to. But tiny amounts so meh.

LOVE that new website, Cass. I can hear my bank manager weeping already Grin

Those prices are absurd, Muse Shock

Am watching Ch 4 now. I want a huge meringue dress with integral fairy lights, 'snot fair Hmm

Rocket, repeat after me: BFGW is not the ideal place to get baby name inspiration from Wink Or... what the living fuck is that little girl wearing?!?!?!?!

CurlyCasper · 18/01/2011 21:24

Start your own shop rocket - they pay hooooooooooooge amounts for those OTT monstrosities. And they'd be so much fun to make.

I already have five weddings to attend this year. I'm feeling inspired...

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:24

A pink meringue?

Ok if not Cheyenne then maybe Arapaho or Pocahontis?

Scorpette · 18/01/2011 21:26

"Girls from traveller families must never be seen out alone"... but going out looking like a gang of underage hookers is perfectly fine Hmm

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:26

Gorgeous website curlywhirl hmm could be dangerous!

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:29

Weird double standard innit. score mind you they wouldn't look too out of place in liverpool city centre of s Saturday night I take it you didn't see the first one of these a few years ago. Is pretty much the same but in more detail this time.

Scorpette · 18/01/2011 21:31

I saw the first one; being pg has made my judgeypants even twitchier!

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:33

Bound to I suppose, they fit a bit tighter Wink

PrincessBoo · 18/01/2011 21:34

Oh glad it's not just me watching that, although I'm a bit Blush about it.

A turban. And 500m of pink netting. Holy fuck.

CluckyKate · 18/01/2011 21:36

Blimey - are these people fer real Shock

What a sheltered life I've left.

That poor little girl can barely walk in that pink monstrosity. Pure class!!!

LadyGoneGaga · 18/01/2011 21:36

I is watching OBEM now, Sprocks but sounds like you're getting your fix of Gypsy weddings. Fair dos, Mr G watching with me anyway. Am weeping already..sniff.

CluckyKate · 18/01/2011 21:36

left led

PrincessBoo · 18/01/2011 21:38

My Grandmother would have had a fit if she was still alive. Going to your first Holy Communion dressed like that in a farking limo! It's not a prom ffs.

Scorpette · 18/01/2011 21:40

I just commented sarcastically on Twitter that that dress constitutes a form of child abuse.

That dressmaker is remarkably judgeypants herself, despite them making her a mint!

rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 21:45

I tried to watch it lady but virgin on demand setvice told me to fuck off, demand was too high apparently. Anyway I am making a chiming owl really, gypo weddings is just on in back ground.

Muser · 18/01/2011 21:57

I just want something to cover the door rocket. It's got a bit of window right at the top, and I want to be able to block the sunlight coming in.

I have a friend who is good with a sewing machine so might ask for her help.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 18/01/2011 22:20

Yeah good call muse. They are dead easy if u just want an oblong gathered or tab curtain.

laurielou · 19/01/2011 08:21

Morning ladeez.

Scorps I'm keeping my distance from you today seeing as you've passed your cold onto me. Ah, us BESH's like to share & bond Smile. Thanks to cold + asthma = snore like a warthog, I slept in the spare room nursery to be last night. Definitely need black out blinds....

Gin hope Mr Gin got back OK in time to give you lots of reassuring hugs. The "dumped dreams" are horrible. Sadly I get them quite a lot, Mr Loz just laughs at me now, which isn't as nice as the hugs.

Boo I love you posting here. So pliz to continue.

Re the "contraction" discussion. I have the feeling by the time I get to that stage I'll just be calling them very un ladylike words anyway Smile. I actually read somewhere that you should see them as hurdles & each one takes you closer to the finishing line. At the time I kept imagining a horse race, & just thought it was a pile of crap. But typically, that's the first thought that always comes to my head. Maybe I'll get some inspiration & pick a winning name in a race or something.

My MW said we'd discuss birthing options in more detail at my next appointment. But the MW led unit I've mentioned has 2 birthing pool rooms, + about 8 of the lovely double bed type rooms. So far no-one has warned me I may be shipped off somewhere else. I suppose its a risk, but my thinking is all those in the MW unit should have relatively straight forward births, so shouldn't need to camp out there for any prolonged period of time. And the chances of that many women all being in exact same stages of labour at the same time are remote . Plus I reckon I could shout louder than anyone else there, so will get what I want Grin.

I'm sure I'll have more panics there nearer the time comes, but at the moment I'm remarkably calm about the thought of labour. I think I was more worked up about it before I became diffed. I just think that its got to come out one way or t'other & there is nothing I can do about that fact now.

milanomum · 19/01/2011 08:28

Morning!

Lemme just catch up:

Scorps it sounds like you've been having a really horrible time - poor you! hopefully meds will kick in and give you a break (at least until 3rd trimester Confused)

bitey great news on scan Smile

Aries WHEN the time comes you should definitely plan to move back to parents' house in the last month (and get pampered) or, alternatively, live in a tent outside the hossy for the last few weeks.

About hospital births - have I mentioned that I had a fabulous one? they just sort of left me alone to get on with it until it was time to get it out. There aren't any pain relief options here unless you book an epidural weeks in advance and then only if you happen to give birth from 9 to 5 when the anesthetists are working Confused. TBH it actually helped knowing that there just wasn't any option and it never got that bad for me. I also gave birth on a bed, through choice, but not lying down, It was one of those foldy-gyno-beds so I was sitting up. I spent most of the time with my eyes closed, not speaking to husband, doing my visualisation stuff. It was great!

muser Ikea?

So, anyway, scan went well, Dr Lady was loverly and showed me everything and I got a wave . Am starting to relax but am going to buy a doppler (what type did you get Orchid?) for when I go mad again which I predict will be in, ohhh, about 3 weeks.

Orchid12 · 19/01/2011 09:01

Milano I bought [[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160496727745&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:GB:1123 this doppler] from Ebay. It takes a while to ship though, so by the time I get it I might actually be feeling something but hey ho. I can remember when mini O was nearly term he would have some quiet days and it was nice to be able to hear him (I borrowed a friends doppler at the time) to check he was ok, so all is not lost.

Sorry not to name check - have a mountain of work to get through so must dash. Snogs to all xx
