Girls back to school/playgroup on Monday, so that'll be me resting a little more. Mr Wiggles is great with girls and doing bits and pieces but he's not here a lot of the time or if he's on nights, he's asleep during the day.

Think my bump may have substantially dropped during the day and am also getting some pain in my pelvic area - all normal?? I can't seem to remember anything about the last month of dd2 pregnancy, must be the last 3 sleep deprived years Wink

PDR · 08/01/2011 20:20

Evening all :)

Just had roast chicken for dinner as I realised this morning it went out of date today. Now munching on popcorn - is anyone else starving all the time??! Confused

I think I may have pulled a muscle in my calf when I had leg cramps the other night. It is really tender and hurts to walk and even when I have my feet up I feel it. Trying to take it easy so it will go away!

Have put some babygros in my hospital bag today - how many have others put it? I went for 3 and figured DH can bring more in if needs be...?

JustOneMorePlease · 08/01/2011 20:29

Very exciting day here! Prince William and Kate were at a wedding at the church in our village (across the road from us!) this afternoon.

Paps were everywhere, running around snapping away!

They didn't pop in for a cuppa though! Wink

debka · 08/01/2011 20:56

ledkr glad you got yourself checked out at the hospital, hope all your test results come back clear.

Am very Envy justonemoreplease I am a right old granny when it comes to the Royals, will sit in front of the telly all day when W+K get hitched!

PDR I have the opposite- normally I eat like a horse but I have no appetite at all at the moment, except for those DAMN fruit pastilles....

Saw the anaesthetist yesterday, got sent by consultant due to my Raised BMI. Apparently I have a skinny back so an epidural won't be a problem. Have no intention of having one, although it's good to know it won't be a problem if I do need it for some reason. She was ever so good, expained it all v clearly but managed to put me off even more when telling me about all the risks!! Won't scare you with the details, ladies...

Had a crappety crap day, swore at DH (he deserved it), burst into tears whilst DD was screaming then had a lie down whilst DH took DD out for a walk. Felt better when they got back but really, why couldn't I have got one of those nice, sensitive DH's? That, by the way, is the FIRST TIME DH has taken DD so I can have a break. AND he works from home. OK, moan over. Is there anything good on telly tonight?

ledkr · 08/01/2011 21:05

pdr i put in 3 small and then 2 large at the suggestion that she may be big, although mw at hospital reverted back to saying im big for dates due to fluid so who knows? Not heard from them so presume all ok with blood.Feel ok ish now but bit sick and so does dd.
I am starving too, even after a big meal. The other day i suggested mcds to dh while out and he acted as if id just suggested scoring a few grams of coke!!He is really self righteous about food/excercise-he gets it from pil.I was really pd off cos ive eaten quite normally thru pg and never sent him to the garage at 3am for a crunchie or anything. He ate a huge big mac meal too.
wigglesi get lot of low abdo pain, infact its in the pubic region, worse when get braxton hicks.Had a few big bh when on monitor today you could see the trace go right up and babys hb went up to about 180 really weird.

worrymummy · 08/01/2011 21:55

Hi ladies,

I have not been on here for absolutely ages but hope everyone is feeling well and getting ready...

Had mw here today to discuss homebirth, getting nervous although have been through it twice already - not at home. Bumped into a friend who recommended hypnotherapy CD but not sure if it's too late.

Still loads to do to get ready for baby...but a friend brought round their bugaboo today for us to borrow so quite excited - it's a lovely red colour (sold the phil&teds).

How are you all???

worrymummy · 08/01/2011 21:55

and have you chosen names?

40Weeks · 08/01/2011 22:17

Hello worrymummy have not got many names I have to admit, I have few i like but can't thnk of any that make me think "ah that's the one" - we don't know if it's a boy or girl so twice as hard! What about you? Also having a home birth, very exciting! How far along are you now, hypno cd won't be a waste of time if you listen everyday for a few weeks. Have tried it twice before, can't hurt! And I like anything that will distract me for labour!

It's good to know what you are all packing in your bags, thanks for sharing ladies. Will have a bag ready just in case and always good to have everything to hand even if at home

NeedToSleepZZZ · 08/01/2011 22:31

Evening everyone, been watching Derren Brown, I have such a huge crush on him and it's worse at the moment with all the hormones Wink

ledkr I've also been having pains very low down with BHs, must've been very interesting to actually see them recorded. Hope things settle down for you and you feel alright soon, you've had a tough time.

pdr I've packed 4 sets of clothes- 2 regular and 2 slightly larger, I just figured it would be better to have something too big than too small. I've been up and down with appetite and this evening I've munched my way through a massive dinner (put salad on the plate to make me feel better about it) then had some of OH's then had a brownie.... Blush

Well, back to my Derren fest, yum yum!

snowangels1 · 09/01/2011 09:37

wiggles I have pelvic pain at the min too. Don't think it's anything like spd as it's quite sporadic and seems to be dependant on babies position - last night was keeping me up alot though and very painful today. I'm guessing she's low down in the pelvis today Hmm

pdr I too pulled a calf muscle with the dreaded leg cramp. It was quite painful for a few days but after a week or so it was fine. I know ledkr always says to get leg pain checked out though as it might be something more sinister (learning alot from everyone here I am :) ). Oh and I'm super hungry all the time too

needto I watched some of the derren brown docu too and I have had a secret crush on him for quite some time too Grin . Was a bit odded out by all the dead animals in his house though (especially those deformed ones and the pickled baby chimp).

debka I have appointment with anaethatist this week re: epidural as I had issues with slipped disc last year and they think it might stop me being able to have epi. Hope mine doesn't put me off too much like yours did though as the only thing getting me through the terror of birth is that I'll get an epidural - was in tears about worry of birth again to DH last night about it. DH's response was 'it's just a bit of pain, what's the problem?' Shock Hmm

40weeks and worry I can't think of the right name yet either. There are quite a few that we agree on and would do....but arn't quite perfect. Really struggling. All the ones I really like as a potential don't go with surname or DH dislikes

ZeroMinusZero · 09/01/2011 09:46

needtosleep my DH absolutely loves Derren Brown and has seen him live and I got him one of Derren's books for Christmas. But I an't stand him because he freaks me out too much. I find the tricks too spooky, but I appreciate that he's really talented.

A big day for me today as baby is finally 32 weeks which is a big milestone as her lungs should now be fully developed and there should be very few problems if I gave birth right now. Hooray! And as I'm the least far gone on here, the same applies for everyone else on this thread :)

re. hospital bags, I'm packing mine today and will probably put in about three newborn babygrows and three 0-3 just in case she comes out big. But the main thing to remember to pack is sweets. Lots and lots of sweets. Oh, and a big night dress to give birth in that has buttons down the front which I tried to find yesterday but the cheapest I could find was £18!!!! That's what happens when you live in a town with no Primark, Asda or big Tesco Angry

If there's nothing in New Look I'm going to have to go for the £18 and hope that I can get the blood stains out after the birth so I can wear it again sometime. I don't want to wear a T shirt because I want something that covers me up a bit better. Oh well.

Oneof4 · 09/01/2011 10:13

JustOneMorePlease - saw your village on the online news! Looks very pretty. :)

Feeling much brighter after a couple of days of aches, BH, no sleep and nausea. Thank heavens... And it's sunny!

JustOneMorePlease · 09/01/2011 10:36

oneof4 glad you are having a good day. May be the calm before the storm of a new arrival.

Shame the paps weren't interested in me and my bump skipping around the maypole with the kids. Strangely Wills and Harry weren't interested either!

They were in the pub though, don't think them running off with me, a bump and three dc's would suit the establishment (or my Dh!).

Aldborough has never been so busy, big expensive cars everywhere and all the locals peeping over walls and out of windows!!!!!

My ds2 sixth birthday today, he is such a poppet and is so excited. Doesn't seem like six years since I was sat here with him as a tiny newborn.

Have a good day everyone!

40Weeks · 09/01/2011 11:29

Happy 6th birthday to your DS2 justonemore hope you have a nice day, esp after the excitement if yesterday - how will you top this weekend!?

janedoe25 · 09/01/2011 11:31

Morning everyone! Glad all is well with u ledkr.

i made a start to pack the hospital bags ( i have 3) one for me, one for baby and one to keep in car! for baby i packed 4 newborn sleepsuits and vests and 2 0-3 mnths. hat, scratch mits and blanket.
Havent a clue what to pack for myself though, so far i have 2 pj bottoms and 1 nightdress. about 10 pairs of huge black pants, a dark towel and dressing gown.

oops sorry for the self obsessed post! Blush

smallblackflowers · 09/01/2011 12:52

Hello all!
zero I got my cheap nightie from Peacocks - was £4 or £5.

angels the only thing that I could eat for breakfast when I had GD last time, that didn't send my blood sugar crazy was one slice of granary toast with a poached egg and butter. 2 slices of toast sent me over the edge. If your muesli has fruit in it that's prob what is causing the problem. Breakfast is the hardest meal of the day to get right as your body's ability to deal with sugars improves throughout the day, but is awful in the morning.

ledkr fingers crossed for your blood test results tomorrow.

knittakid · 09/01/2011 13:09

Hello ladies,
Went to London for a couple of days so have lots to catch up. Hope the test come back alright ledkr, and that everyone else is keeping well.
I've not had that pain again, which is good, but will mention to mw on Wed.
I think I had my first contraction the night we stayed in London, it was like food poisoning, only it lasted only a minute and went away, and it involved muscles of the back as well as the tummy.

Finally picked up bag of clothes from some relatives, what a disapointment, lots of older baby/toddler clothes and 4 things for 0-3 months... and really don't have storage space to keep things for 3 years... I'll be sending those to some cousins.

needto I love the Derren Brown shows, but my heart belongs to Bruce Parry...

PDR · 09/01/2011 14:03

angels muesli (although boring and sensible) usually has a lot of sugar in it - my mum was following a low GI diet and she ended up making her own in the end.

We have been swimming this morning then had shhhh McDonalds for lunch Blush DS was over the moon as he got a Scooby Doo toy which he has taken to bed for his afternoon nap! DH is now watching boring football so I am pottering around nesting...

Happy Birthday to justonemore's DS today :) Hope you're having a lovely day.

DH has the day off tomorrow (working next Saturday instead) so he can come to my growth scan in the afternoon. We are thinking of checking out a hotel up the road as a possible Christening reception/Naming Ceremony venue so hopefully this might include lunch as would be terrible not to sample the food Wink Will entice DH by offering to drive so he can have a pint evil wife!!!!

PDR · 09/01/2011 14:06

knitta we were in London too!!!!!! Didn't see you though Wink

knittakid · 09/01/2011 14:14

Perhaps you did PDR if you were at the Gauguin exhibition then i was the massive girl in the black top, whom one of the ushers couldn't stop himself from commenting on how big I was...

PDR · 09/01/2011 14:24

Haha knitta no I was at the Portland with DS and there was actually a pregnant lady there who insisted on being seen first Hmm (although she was only 10 mins so not the end of the world). The doctor felt awful when I undid my coat and my bump popped out and turns out I am due before this women Grin

knittakid · 09/01/2011 14:28

I love that PDR, what a moaner! I'd never say anything!
When we took the bus from the station I was sooo tired of being sat and my back was hurting, so decided to stand, and everyone looked at me and DH (sitting down) like some kind of lunatics, on the way back he 'ordered' me to sit down as he didn't want to get those looks again!!!

knittakid · 09/01/2011 14:28

OOops, posted before I wanted to.

How is your DS? hope everything went well.

PDR · 09/01/2011 14:35

knitta yes it was quite funny - she was huge though -perhaps twins but the doctor also said she was huge Shock and I looked great [smug] Wink
DS is fine thanks - just a check up for grommets (had them in 6 months ago and they're still there and hearing is now normal) we had kind of thought this would be has last appointment (we live in Devon so it's a PITA going to London) but his consultant wants to see him in another 6 months. Conveniently our insurance company now class his condition as ongoing or some such rubbish so it's no longer covered Angry

NeedToSleepZZZ · 09/01/2011 14:41

knitta, are you me??? I love Bruce as well, Tribe was excellent. Have to make a deal where we can share maybe...? Let us know about the contractions, hope they calm down.

angels I'll ask my step mum about good ideas for exciting food as she has very serious diabetes (pancreas removed) but still manages to keep a handle of her blood sugar levels with food and exercise.

zero I got my button down nighties from primark but picked up a couple of non buttoned ones (for first stage?) in a 2 for £6 thing in Sainsburys, worth a look!

I had a disaster last night, I leant over the side of the bed and must have twisted my back as have shooting pains now. Hard to walk on my left side, ouch! Taken paracetamol and have hot water bottle which is helping but I really didn't need this now... Sad
